Review Paasha Turkish Cafe & Takeaway - Pukekohe

Dined here twice now and it's been great each time! Food is well priced and very decent portions. Kids menu has a lot on offer which is perfect for children, there's something for everyone. Today my kids ordered a pizza off the kids menu and both ate the whole thing. Their falafel and housemate sauces are really yummy. Overall just a really great place to dine and eat some delicious authentic Turkish cuisine. Will be back many more times for sure

This is an amazing Turkish cafe/restaurant. It's was truly surprising that we ended up in a Turkish cafe on ANZAC day.... The coffee was done really well and please don't forget to have the Baklava which was delicious 😋 I will definitely be coming back here even though I like out west in Auckland.

Beautiful food, staff and atmosphere. We had such a wonderful time and were looked after well. The decor was so authentic and plenty of parking in the evenings. Nice big restaurant as well.
Sami
- pleasant atmosphere - yummy food - friendly waiter - everything to the high standard - the overall vibe was great - portion is just the right amount for 1 person - don’t forget baklava and tea at the end

Great service and really beautiful decor. Staff there are very helpful and the portion sizes are huge could feed 3 people. First time and definitely see why it's rated so well. Thanks for the lovely time

Very delicious food here. Lots of variety of dishes. Meals come out reasonably fast. Has a beautiful Authentic atmosphere. I would actually like Turkish music playing to add to the atmosphere. Pricing is pretty standard. Portions are great sizes.

Turkish coffee, superb! The Lamb Pizola, incredible!!! Beautifully made!!! Highly recommend this.Texture and flavour was awesome! Turkish Apple Tea, loved it! Don't forget to grab some sweets on your way out; Baklava, Turkish Delight, and Semolina Cakes.

The portion is generous, very good value for money! Tastes if good, but definitely can be better, our mussels were fresh! No complains for the money for these foods, loved it!

$14 for large salad and $15.50 for wrap, fries and drink deal! Although this is a takeaway side which we went, we are allowed to dine in, served with water and plates! Lastly, the kids were treated to the turkish sweets free of charge just before we leave. Friendly staff and good atmosphere! Highly recommended!

This is a rating for the TAKEAWAY SIDE ONLY of Paasha. We haven't tried the restaurant yet. I got a large shish kebabe meal on rice for $16 which was enough for my dinner and lunch the next day. AMAZING. My husband had a pita kebab which was almost enormous. You get what you paid for that for sure! As for quality and flavour, they were also above our expectations. Probably one of the best kebab meals we've ever had. The meat was quality, perfectly cooked with delicious flavours. We'll be back for more, often.

Had an awesome time here last week. I like basic food and was not that keen but huge surprise for me I really enjoyed it. Table of 6, great service and great food. Will definitely be returning soon. Try the Lamb it's awesome.

Once again a pleasant evening. Unfortunately no gap between coarses this time. Espec considering the size of the coarses that could be cut back a little (and prices?) Recommended.

After 100 plus days of lockdown this was our first night out..Best decision ever..the place was inviting..the staff were fantastic and the food was incredible...so glad we gave this place a go... went again in the following week and once again fantastic food and service

Time and time again we walked past Paasha and told ourselves wow this place looks so cool and we gotta go there one day.

Well today is the day! What a beautiful restaurant you have here. The place is decorated with love and pride, we felt warm and welcoming as soon as we walked in. I can sit there and stare at all those beautiful Turkish lamps all day.

Turkish coffee and a nice cold beer with the most amazing minced lamb pizza to start! Out of this world! Simply the best Turkish pizza we had in NZ. The base was light and crispy but still managed to have enough strength in it. The minced lamb was so flavourful and we'll balanced. Delicious!

For main we had the lamb Iskender and lamb pizola! Both meals are devine! The lamb were cooked on the grill, juicy, fresh and smoky. The sauces were so full of flavour but not over powering. We were so blown away with how nice they were. Generous serving sizes too.

Even we were so full after our meals, but we just had to try the baklava. Wow! Make sure you don't leave without ordering one or two of them. You will not be disappointed!

The service was exceptional. Everyone was super friendly and helpful.

The whole experience was just spot on and amazing! We would definitely come back over and over again! Well done guys!

Best Turkish place in the whole of pukekohe. Food is so good and they have really cheap lunch deals which is amazing!!

I was looking for a place to take my family there for brunch for Father's Day. Chose Paasha and we weren't disappointed 🙂
Friendly staff, clean, food was delicious and reasonable prices. Will definitely return!

Well worth the drive out. The shish meals are to die for, portions are very generous and the meat is always tender and tasty. Great service too
FoodieBeast
Nice clean place. The service was amazing - a young lady served us this evening.

The food was good and so were the desserts. No short falls. Highly Recommend!!

Definitely the best kebabs in town. They are huge and delicious and staff are always very nice. Have always been very happy and satisfied with the food.

Service polite and quick. Food of the food was exactly what was needed. Lady I was with Vegetarian happy with wide selection. My Lamb Iskender was cooked to perfection. Nose levels despite being full was of those laughs and happy people. regulars coming back again and again

We had a lovely experience. We went on a Friday night from Auckland. Reached at about 8.30pm which is about an hour prior to the restaurant closes. The staff courteously advises us that the kitchen would close on 30mins although the restaurant closes in an hour which was well received by us. I would rate the staff 10 on 10 for their service.
We only ended up ordering a Turkish Mixed Grill and a Margaretta Pizza. The food quantity was sufficient and very delicious. Mixed Grill was the winner.

June 2018
A really nice authentic looking Turkish cafe whose staff provided the most impeccable service. The food certainly wasn't dissappointing but was possibly 'europeanised' somewhat... maybe this is what the local dining community want here on the southern edge of sprawling Auckland District. A heavier hand on the spices could have made this meal superior. The serving sizes were so very generous that we didn't need (or have room for) dessert. Bar service that supported a great meal. Would definetly eat here again.

Friendly staff, excellent food, quick service, reasonable price...what more can one ask for?

Both the chicken and lamb shish were tender and flavourful; the tabouli and green salads were fresh and well-seasoned; the garlic Turkish bread was hot and fragrant.

I will be back!

A disastrous evening from start to finish, and we will NEVER ever go to this place again! The food was very below average - the meat was tasteless and very dry with no seasoning!! Not all elements of each dish mentioned on the menu were actually on our plates, e.g. no hummus on the Kebab dishes. The restaurant was so noisy we could not even hear one another at the table. The person at the front desk was arrogant and rude to us, and the Manager of this particular restaurant was not interested in addressing a serious issue we had upon our arrival (although we had arranged ahead our booking, we were told upon arriving at the restaurant that NO such booking was on record and we were 'squeezed in'). Not good enough! For the lack of service, the cruddy attitudes of the male staff and the poor quality of food, if we could give a "0" we would!!!!

Our fave Turkish place in Auck. Friendly staff, delicious food and good drinks selection! I would strongly recommend going there with your family or your other half. Great vegetarian food too! They even cater to the kids. 10/10

Food is amazing, got greated with a warm welcome, sat down and ordered straight away. Decided to order a mezze chicken platter for 2 with hummus and a variety of dips. Side dish bowl of chips and turkish bread. We also ordered 2 cappuccino and complementary 2 turkish delights very lovely dinner
Dimitrios Konstantopoulos
This is 100% authentic Turkish cuisine with delicious tasty food.
Reasonably priced and nice decorated.
We always go there for a nice authentic kebab.
Quality ingredients and the charcoal grill makes a difference.

Great service cannot complain at all.
Easy 4+ all around.
Really yummy food. I had the chicken sheesh kebab and my partner had the combo mix donar kebab. Really fresh and beautiful, lots of sauce. And the best baklava ever!
Rachel
Probably the best falafal I've had in a long time! The salad is huge and filling with plenty of sauce (: the small chips is massive, big enough to share! Would highly recommend for a quick easy dinner that is very reasonably priced for what you get
Emma Roha
I have been a loyal customer for the past 3-4 years. The staff are lovely and the food is delicious! The best kebabs in Pukekohe in my opinion.
Alaina Thompson
HUGE portion sizes! Definitely no need for an entree plus main. One or the other is more than enough! Delicious smoothies and friendly staff. Would definitely go back again. The only constructive feedback I would have is for someone to greet you as you walk in. We found it a little awkward when we walked in.
Suzifoodie
Great restaurant very friendly and
well priced food was great and quick service
Worth a visit try the chicken Shisa and the Turkish delight
Sarah
My partner and I both really enjoy Paasha.

Nice atmosphere, good acoustics, staff are friendly and attentive. The food is always fresh and tasty with appealing presentation and large portion sizes, which are great value for money.

Well worth a visit.
Vanessa
Was there two weeks ago for late dinner. Food comes in big portion but also pricey. The chilli that comes with the food was nice and spicy. The chilli is the most memorable one of all throughout the dinner.

In the area we thought we'd stop at Paasha for lunch particularly with a vegetarian joining us as Turkish food has good options, not simply salads. Had heard about how yum it was so what better opportunity to check it out.
We arrived & there were only a few people there so we had the pick of tables choosing one of the bench seats. Service was okay, attentive & friendly enough but lacking that friendly weekend banter that really makes a visit memorable.
We ordered a range of drinks from beer, to coffee & a special coffee. All were good & a table water was provided.
Meals wise the chicken & rice from the kids menu was very popular with our younger diner. We also ordered a chicken doner kebab, chicken shish kebab & vegetarian moussaka. There was a mix up with the sauces on the kebabs (you choose from a range of options), but this was quickly corrected. These meals took a little longer than expected for a nearly empty restaurant & weren't bought out together, but were very tasty & delicious. The chicken in particular wasn't dry like it can sometimes be, it was chunky breast meat chargrilled to perfection & still juicy.
One of our diners decided to go straight for dessert - mud cake of course! This was well presented & yum!
A good visit & will be back - warmer service would really take this place from good to great.

We were first time visitors here so didn't know what to expect but we really enjoyed the experience. We shared an entree of filo triangles stuffed with spinach and feta which came with a side salad and mint & yoghurt dressing on the side. Then we had the shish kebabs (a prawn and a chicken one) These come with rice, tabbouleh, hummus and salad leaves. A chilli sauce and a mint and yoghurt one came in little dishes. I must mention that I don't usually like side salad but this was a really yummy selection of baby salad leaves with a lemony dressing and I scoffed it all ! The portions are generous so there was no room for dessert or coffe, but next time......
Our waiter was helpful with his suggestions and recommendations and the service was fast and friendly. We are definitely planning to come back here.

I have been a loyal customer for the past 5 years.. and I have never been disappointed with the food or the service.
Friendly staff who can take a joke and very pleasant to deal with. I always go back when I can

I am pretty addicted to the woodfired pizzas here - my fave is the pepperoni. Great value for $10 during lunchtime. Most of the staff are lovely however the managers speak quite rudely to them - in front of customers! I've always been happy with whatever I've brought from here.. the only thing I think is saying pick-up times that are true not just 10minutes when really they're never ready in 10minutes - nothing major :)
T Smith
Service was friendly but nothing to rave about, the food was really nice and there were no complaints at the table, the prices are really good and the meals are also really good sizes as well. Will go back.

Went there tonight with the family to celebrate my birthday and had a wonderful time. The place itself was beautifully decorated as you can see from the photos provided by others; the waitress who served us was very friendly and the food was very good. The garlic mussels entree was one of my family's favourites, the fish of the day was also a highlight. Dad's chicken shish kebabs was flavourful and still juicy unlike the dried out monstrosities some cheaper Turkish themed establishments provide and the Istanbul Kofte was hearty and perfect for a winter night meal. The Vienna coffee I ordered was delicious but the portion was rather small for a "regular" size but that was the only minor disappointment I had. Would definitely go back here for special occasions :)

By far the best Turkish restaurant ever. I travel an hour to eat here. The best on their menu is the lamb mince pizza and their bakvala and turkish coffee. I love their authentic looking cups and plates too! This is worth travelling for!
Benjamin Fitzsimmons
Really good traditional Turkish cooking methods and amazing pizza/kebabs every time. They arn't that quick with the food but when it comes you forget it's been that long????

Love to come here for takeaway food, yum, it's the best, really good service and really good food, yum.
Hannah
Came here on a Tuesday night so was rather quiet. Really loved the interior, looks very authentic and was quite cosy on the bench seats on the far wall. We ordered the lamb casserole which was tender and delicious and came with soft turkish bread and a side salad. Also had the combination shish kebab which was also very tasty and had lots of flavour, and woodfired hawaiian and margherita pizzas which had a delicious thin and crispy bases and very tasty toppings.

Have never received such poor service in my life! I ordered from the takeaway menu after skimming over it on Zomato. When I got to the restaurant it cost more than what originally thought, I questioned it and got made a mockery of! The entire time while I sat there waiting for my order they joked about me in their language. I know this as I have worked in a Turkish restaurant before. The food was okay, but I was scared to eat it just in case they had done something to it. We won't be visiting again!

This is an amazing place. The staff have always been efficient and welcoming. I have been several times, large and small groups, dinner and lunch. Every time the service and food has been awesome.

Love this place so much im coming back again after only being there 4 days ago! Pizza was to die for, something Pukekohe was seriously lacking before Paasha started making them. My partner had a combination kebab on rice and that was also really good. You deserve every star given

Enjoyed the food very much. Lovely people. Smiling all the time Very fast service. Clean toilets. Very reasonable prices. Ordered breads and dips for our table of 6 and enjoyed them very much.Had the Lamb cutlets which melted in the mouth. For desert I ordered the chocolate mud cake which I shared with my husband and was delicious. I would definitely go again and soon loved it that much. Left feeling full and satisfied. Thank you Paasha for a lovely night with lovely food.

We go to Paasha alot!!!. The staff are always so polite, and so helpful. They accidentally gave us an xtra large pizza and only charged us for a smaller size. I have a family of six and the food is always delicious We always leave happy from the great wine, food and awesome atmosphere. I especially love their Mezze platters, and their salads always taste so fresh....I thoroughly recommend this place!
Trina
We love this Cafe, the staff are always helpful and food is tasty and awesome and a great price.
The kids menu is great, they have other options for the kids thats not just fried food :)
We ordered takaway last night for first time and again wonderful service and food still just as yummy.

The food was good, but nothing that I would rave about. The waitress (Asian looking girl) was extremely rude and short. This restaurant is not appropriate for children at all. My child (2 year old) wanted to sit on the couch/dewan along the wall, the waitress who took our order said very rudely, "take her shoes off if she sits there!!!" (she is 2, when she sits back on the couch her feet are at the end of the couch and don't hang over!!) Please note: They didn't even offer us a high chair! I asked for hot water with a lemon wedge to drink and she said they can't do that, they can just give me plain hot water!! aargh! Totally disappointed and will not go there again!
Svetlana Lazarevich
Not happy with the food sorry, it's delicious no doubt, but the bland salad you add to most meals seems like a cheat. Also, some staff members are unpleasant. The older woman is absolutely lovely, you should just leave it to her to run.
Paul Tupou-Vea
Have dined here several times over the last two years, in different circumstances (group lunches, date night, takeaway pizza, etc) and have always been very pleased.

The food is fresh, authentic, delicious and fairly priced; service is above-average to excellent. Good portion sizes too! I'm a big eater and I'm always full after a main dish.

Just had dinner with my wife on a Fri evening - didn't need a reservation, but have had to wait before so book if you can. The missus says the toilets are very clean - I'm sure thats a big plus for some people!

Just came back from Paasha and it was great. Food was fabulous - tasty, fresh and generous sizes. Service was excellent - attentive and prompt. Place was busy - all ages - and everyone looked to be enjoying themselves. Paasha was very clean. My husband even went up and congratulated them on the great food and service - and he is not impressed easily. Give them a try - we will be back - soon.
Aaron
Have to say the food is very well done here. The service always gets better on each visit. On my first few visits we had a long wait between course, but the last few times the wait has been right on. One of my favorite places to eat out these days. Great food and service what else could you ask for.
Selena Brooks
I ate at Paasha last night with my husband. The food was good, but the service was absolutely shocking. The young waiter was more interested in flirting with some girl friends of his. He brought us dessert menus and never bothered to return to our table to see if we wanted to order so we left. When we went to pay and told the woman on the till she didn't seem at all interested in rectifying the situation.
Madeleine Yern
Best place ever. Can always count on excellent service, delicious (and lots of) food, good prices and fresh ingredients. Coffee there is fantastic. Best place to eat in Pukekohe by far, everyone we take to Paasha enjoys it so much! Even my 80 yr old grandmother!!!
Don't forget to try the coffee!!!
Keith Eades
We had booked ahead, as Paasha can get quite busy on a Saturday night. There were 8 adult diners and one baby on this visit, for most of the diners it was their first time here.

The biggest problem we had all night was in selecting which of the dishes to go for. Everybody commented on how they enjoyed the authentic Entrée’s and Mains. One diner even managed to squeeze a dessert in too, the rest of us were too full.

The staff kept the youngest diner happy in the highchair with his own servings too.

Looking forward to the next visit.
Sarah
I have mixed feelings about this place, the service is excellent and the pizza is crazy good - that base is something magical.

However, I ordered the meze platter and found it was just a splattering of ingredients from the kebab counter with a couple of lamb koftas chucked in, kind of a rip off to pay $20 for mostly a scoop of hummus.
Then the iskender- it was yum... except for it being 80% croutons - giant, rock hard, unflavoured croutons slowly getting turned into a sodden mush as my meal went on.

It would be 5/5 for great service and pizza, but paying $23 for a plate of croutons left me feeling sour.

2012-
I went here for lunch with a few people from work and with my boyfriend. Everyone loved their food. The only complaint to be heard was that there was too much of it!
My pizza was absolutely delicious.

2011-
We got a pizza here last weekend. It was quite nice. Different to all the bigger pizza places, but really good. Like nothing I have ever had before. Can't wait to go back.
