Review The Sugar Shed - Pukekohe

Neat kiwi inspired dessert cafe. Open late nights. Apple crumble was nom nom. Would have preffered the Banoffee Pie but it was sold out. Very popular wee shop. Cool decor. Feel this place will need a bigger store before long!

super yummy! always wanted to come here, and did so with my family who were over from the UK. We all enjoyed it.

Portions are just the right size and the perfect level of sweetness! I drive 40mins there with my flat once a month. Never disappointed!

Highly recommend! This is such a cost cute desert and sweet shop. Fantastic friendly service and staff that go above and beyond. Very reasonable pricing for just high quality food! Interesting and tasty combinations of deserts and great house made icecream. Open social hours aswell. I only wish I lived closer so I could come more often. Will be back when I can. Worth a stop!!

Awesome people, yummy desserts, perfect place to catch up with friends xx

Love the cheesecake and brownie. Gluten free available which is awesome. Always great customer service. Can pay to order your cheese cake ahead of time if doing takeaway so you dont miss out.

Just the place to get your sugar or coffee hit. It's not the biggest cafe or has the widest choice of treats, but has good full bodied coffee and a fair selection of treats. Softdrinks also available. It's in an ideal location if visiting the local Saturday market or if you waiting for a bus.

Very skeptical to try at first as never heard of it and looked at picture on google. Looked somewhat plain and slighly unappealing due to presentation of the dessert. Walked in 1 night to dare myself to try . Ordered 1 carrot cake and hot choco for takeaway. At home, my husband took a bite and said it tasted amazing and tasted like exactly like how his nana used to make it. Hot choco was could be better. Temerature too hot and ordered large but only get 3/4 of the cup . I think this place can reach further to it potential if maybe stop using student as server as none of them seem to have a clue and service was too slow. Other than that clean, tidy and delicious dessert. Will def keep coming back. Thank you

Lovely little place. Had a custom cake made for my mother's birthday, it was delicious. Coffee is good. Pastries are to die for. Wish we could visit more.

A neat and cozy little cafe off the main drag so it's more peaceful and a whole lot less noisy. Really enjoyed our iced coffee's. Loved it

Food is amazing, fast prep, quite pricy other than that it's good... Not much people were there so we had fast service and the customer service is great👍🏼

Good variety but very expensive for what you get, especially the desserts/sundaes etc. Nice to take the kids there for a treat but certainly not a weekly or even monthly event for our family. Coffee is average.

I always love coming to the Sugar Shed for a catch up with the girls. The owner/staff are always so friendly and make you feel welcome. I always opt for the Banoffer Pie as it is my favourite!! Everything on their menu is delicious you can’t go wrong. Would recommend this place to anyone.

As a local it is great to have a cafe that caters for your Sugar fix that serves just great coffee and deserts. The Gelato selection is great, and the small seating arrangement makes for checking out other people's choices interesting in that you may try that choice next visit. The small establishment also means you cannot always get a seat inside.
Personally, I like the woman who works there, she is friendly but not too personal. Knows your preferences however recommends others. This is a DKD alternative in rural area. What is there not to be appreciative about?

The prices are a bit extreme for the outcome, Ive seen things hat look and taste better for an even better price in Auckland city, but I guess this is the trash you get in the skin head hood

Lovely little place and it was worth the drive out there from Auckland. Those mini cakes though! They are AMAZING!
Would definitely go there again ☺️

I have been here 4 or 5 times after school or in the weekend and there is usually only one or two people inside. The variety of desserts is pretty good but everything seems to be quite expensive for what you get. Other than that I do recommend going te The sugar shed.

Pretty average desserts. I've heard a lot about this place, but have to say I was a bit dissapointed. I ordered the banana split which was very basic, just a banana with standard ice cream (the ice cream tasted pretty cheap) They do have a lot of variety though, so I'd be keen to go back and sample some other options to see if those are better. The staff were very friendly, but the decor could be more inviting.

Been here a couple times now, and both times my boyfriend and I have thoroughly enjoyed our desserts. They offer deals for locals also which is a bonus. Staff are very friendly. Will definitely keep going back

I love dessert and was really excited to come and try the desserts here! They were fairly average to be honest. The donuts I got didn’t taste fresh and to be honest they tasted like something out of a packet from the supermarket. Could have quite easily made it at home. Nonetheless service was great and the woman that served us was friendly.

The ambiance is good. The customer service is great. The desserts are amazing and mouthwatering. The presentation of the food is as great as the taste. There's quite a selection and it might take you a while to choose since there's a lot of yummy things on the menu. Definitely coming back here with my sweet taste bud!

The shake I got was gross but the sweet treats you can get from this place are great! Always enjoy them. The lines allways seem to be quite long here though

Apple pie, duffle were yummy!
Love going coming here to get my sweet fix. Staff are always welcoming and lovely. Would highly recommend coming here!

Outstanding service, the staff is really sweet always. The desserts are to die for and you have a wide range to choose from. Absolutely love this place!

This place is bomb! My boyfriend and I are slowly making our way through their menu! We go here almost every time for something sweet. Our fave is the nutella doffle 👌👌

very nice cosy set up. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were just passing by so stopped to peek inside, only got takeaway ice cream so can't comment on the food. But lovely staff.

This place is quite quaint and has a homey feel. It does not have it's own carpark, so you have to park on the public road. We had a coupon for this place so made the long drive from West Auckland. Had the Hot Fudge Sundae which was delicious. I would love to come back here if I was in the area.

Each time we stop by we can be confident there will be something yummy to have. Never been let down by the food and love the new creations they come up with!

The Sugar Shed is close to the Main Street in Puke & a great place to stop when you need a sweet treat.
They do a varied range of drinks from coffees to milkshakes & beyond. They also have some of the best cronuts we've tried.
Their specialty is desserts so there is a great range to try from.

Staff is very friendly, it was a nice conversation.
I bought the baileys donut and large latte
It was very cool flavor of donut,
But when I ate that donut it wasn't as nice as I thought, custard in the donut was not much.
But some of sweets are interested to me,
I will still visit again:)

Always a great place to stop in when you feel like a sugar rush. How they come up with the cheese cake of the day, Always changing.
Something for everyone.
Staff are always happy and the place is never empty.

Came here last weekend with a friend while strolling through Pukekohe. Nice little desert shop to sit down if you need your sugar fix.

They have everything you could think of from gelato to banana splits and even doffles (donut x waffle) 😍😍😍
There is so much variety it was a tough decision but I went with your standard waffles with a scoop of gelato, chocolate sauce & cream. This was very tasty but I found the waffles to be a little under cooked and doughy.. A couple more minutes and they would have been perfect!

I can't wait to come back and try something else on the menu!

Stopped in randomly while walking through Pukekohe. Felt like something sweet and this definitely hit the spot! The gelato is to die for and the donut in my sundae was amazing, warm and melt in your mouth. Perfect hidden gem for anyone with a sweet tooth!

Our favorite treat!!
Lovely atmosphere, great service but most importantly AMAZING food. Great for all ages. And trust me on the rhubarb and berry crumble. Nom nom nom

This is simply the best place for desserts one could possibly ask for.

The cabinet and the menu contained a mouthwatering number of options. Husband had the peanut butter chocolate cheesecake and were impressed by how rich and flavorful it was. My sticky date pudding served with salted caramel ice cream were absolutely divine.

The service was beyond friendly too. Anyways can't wait to visit again ;)
Absolutely love this place. Always something yummy on the menu to tempt us. Specials are always just that - special. Great coffee, lovely people behind the counter. Great coffee. What more could Pukekohe want? Maybe an even bigger Sugar Shed?

Came here 2with my gluten free friends. They loved their desserts. Lots of options for gluten free and diary free desserts lovers. I had an affogato which i thoroughly enjoyed. It came with a strong shot of espresson and two scope of vanilla ice cream.

We stopped in at The Sugar Shed for a girly celebration in the midafternoon. We'd originally tried to visit on a Monday but found the place closed - hours vary day to day so do check closing times. Pleased to find it open, I sank down in one of the cosy armchairs in the sun to await the arrival of my friend. The ambient music was very enjoyable, to the point I found myself tuned out, despite a bus stop located just outside the doors.
The menu for desserts here is extensive and some cabinet food is available. My friend had the waffles and the waitress offered up with the Knickerbocker when I was tossing up the idea of a Sunday. The Movenpick ice cream is only available with plated meals, a slight disappointment as I think customers would be willing to pay a premium for better product.
Service was friendly if a little quiet - I think there may have only been one staff member on. I do love the idea of a dessert restaurant and The Sugar Shed has a point of difference in a fairly saturated market.

I've been to The Sugar Shed multiple times and I have enjoyed the desserts each time from the cheesecake to the cronuts, the only thing I would fault is the drinks, I'm never satisfied with the hot chocolates; they taste overly milky and aren't very enjoyable. But overall a good place to visit.

This place is amazing, my partner and I follow them on Facebook and see what's new, the food is to die for, I'm craving it now, yum.

One word to describe this place - AMAZING! PB&J Cronut was to die for. The coffee was good too. The staff are really friendly and excellent customer service.

Went to the sugar shed for the first time today and had the nutella mousse cup, it was really rich, but could have had a bit more nutella in it with less cream on top and a bit more filling. The atmosphere is great it's such a cute little store. The mocca and hot chocolate that we had was nice but was lacking in the chocolate factor

When looking for a cake for my teenage son's birthday recently, someone suggested ordering a cheesecake from The Sugar Shed. Even though it was late notice, this was easily arranged and the resulting Moro Bar cheesecake was heaven on a plate. Not only did it look great, but the price was excellent and the cheesecake was creamy, delicious and not too sweet. It was perfect and we were lucky that our son and his friends left us a slice each. Absolutely divine and I would highly recommend this as a dessert when you want to impress and want something a bit different.

Amazing place - luckily still a bit of a secret.....
Moro bar cheesecake, peanut butter cheesecake the kids faves.
Sticky date pudding? Divine.
The coffee is great the atmosphere too.
Have been several times and it's becoming a weekly event.

We went to The Sugar Shed with a group of friends after hearing great things about the food, and it lived up to all our expectations. I had the sticky date pudding which was moist and delicious with lots of yummy sauce. My husband had an amazing lemon slice which went down rapidly. The coffee was also delicious!
Everything looked so incredible it made choosing only one thing to eat very hard! We'll definitely go back to try more of their amazing food.

Sugar Shed is aaaamazing! Value for money and super delicious!!
I don't normally eat dessert, but am always keen to stop by The Sugar Shed! Not to mention the service is fantastic, very friendly and polite!

I have visited The Sugar Shed on a few occasions on the recommendation of a friend, I have found the experience well worth doing again. My son loves the waffles, and I am quite partial to the jam jar cheesecake. The premises are clean and the staff friendly. We travel from West Auckland for our desserts and coffee, absolutely delicious.

WOW! What an exciting new place to catch up with friends and enjoy fresh, delicious sweets and desserts. The coffee is divine, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the decor is shabby chichi with a vintage touch. I have visited on a number of occasions and tried something new every time. My favourites have been the peanut butter cheesecake (YUM!) and the waffles - fresh and hot with some delicious ice cream. I always suggest the sugar shed when catching up with friends and family. The staff are great and very attentive.

The Sugar Shed is a great place to meet up with friends or family for some delicious treats and great coffee. I made the most of the delicious baked goods on offer which were delicious. Friends ordered desserts from the menu and they all looked and tasted delicious. I realise I have used the word delicious multiple times but it does really best describe the food on offer. I'm looking forward to my next visit!

The Sugar Shed is a great place to go for dessert and coffee in Pukekohe. Their food is fresh and all baked on the premises. I am a big fan of the Sugar Shed's Banoffie pie and the vintage strawberry and white chocolate Kapiti ice cream. The staff are very friendly and the place is always clean. A great place to go after dining out in Pukekohe to finish off your meal. Very competitive pricing.

The Sugar Shed is my favourite place to visit in Pukekohe; I go there all the time! The atmosphere inside is inviting and the staff are attentive and super friendly. In the evenings it is buzzing with people... There is always such a mix of people.

The food is DELICIOUS. I LOVE the different cheese cakes that are on the menu. They change all the time so I always have an excuse to try a new one ;)

I can't wait till winter time... It is going to be a cozy place to visit on a cold night. Looking forward to a hot dessert to warm me up. Keep up the great work, Sugar Shed. See you again soon!
