Review Johnny's Steak House - Pukekohe

The food was just fantastic, really great atmosphere, and hats off to the staff for such a fast and attentive service. My wife and I went for a good dinner time, we made a reservation an hour prior, when we arrived there was a ton of room available but later on it really filled up quickly, so I highly recommend make a reservation. For starters we had the chorizo and Maori bread, really good spiced up taste in the chorizo. The tomahawk and the sirloin steak were just really tasty, and a side of grilled veggies as a side just made it better. A great dessert was the Creme Brulee if there's still room on the belly. Overall, really good place for a nice date night with your partner, friends or just a gather around.

Had a lovely meal tonight, comfortable eating, amazing service and the menu was perfect for the Steak House with everything you could ask for, carefully plated and delighted my palate with flavours. Fast Service. See you again soon.

The platters are great with a lot of food on it. Nice atmosphere 👌. Staff very helpful. We had a party of 6 and the bill at the end of the night was reasonable. We will be back for the ribs and steak.

Loved the food. Staff were very friendly and excellent, but they were just over the top. My biggest issue was them taking the plates when finished. I was still eating my last mouth full, and I was being asked if i was finished, I was clearly still eating, and they got flustered. They just had to wait 2 mins. It won't put me off, but it did make me feel they were trying to get customers in and out.

Johnny's Steakhouse is the ultimate option for a local date night, family gathering or just a perfect excuse to put ya glad rags on 😊 decor is simple yet classy, has an inviting yet chill atmosphere, customer service is always exceptional, affordable pricing and of course exquisite cuisine! Well never been there but son had. The meal was done the way I wanted it. As for burgers they were very big and very filling.

mothers day 2023 , even though there was a hiccup with the reservation there was no hesitation in finding and setting a table for a party of 8. The service was attentive, professional, and warm. The food was up to expectations via all the other reviews. Servings of food was plentiful, tasty, and very moreish. The grandchildren want to come again, and we will. Thank you for a lovely time on one of your busiest days

We found Johnny’s Steakhouse to be welcoming and child friendly. My ribs were good, and my partners salmon was also very nice. Parking was ok but I’d imagine if it was busier you may have to park and walk, service was lacking a little. We had to ask for water to be topped up and we had to get attention to order and to get more drinks. Apart from that the presentation was good, portions were generous and food quality was very good. Prices were on par with similar restaurants. We would go there again.

Stopped here for Lunch as Columbus was packed. This place was empty. The food was amazing (much better than expected since it was very quiet). Excellent service. C'mon Pukekohe support this local business or at least give it a try.

The food was great, I ordered the wood fire grilled chicken and my partner got a scotch fillet and both were cooked to perfection and extremely delicious. The portion sizes were good and I found myself full afterwards unlike at most places. Service was good, the waitresses made sure we were looked after, and the restaurant had a good vibe and aesthetic, with lots of greenery. Only downside was the table was rather small, even for 2 people, but otherwise everything was spectacular 💯

Had to wait a while for our food. When it did come out meat wasn’t exactly how we wanted and also not hot hot. A bit disappointing as we’ve had really nice food there before .

Great place for a good steak, good selection on the menu to cover all taste styles even those not wanting a steak & kids menu available too. Nice decor & friendly attentive staff. Have been going here since it opened & hasn't disappointed us yet. Even celebrated mine & my mums birthdays here & all family that attended couldn't fault their lunch menu on that day.

Went here with in laws my partner and I have been here before had a great experience. Tonight also good main meals was had again. When it came to desert one of our party had the ice cream Sunday which was literally 3 small scoops of basic vanilla ice cream and two rosettes of cream with a thin drizzle of chocolate sauce. This for $10 which seemed very cheeky as you could get more for money at Mac Donald’s. Which the teenager eating it was underwhelmed and pointed this fact out to us. This was brought to the staffs attention who did not deal with the complaint and changed us full price. And unfortunately when leaving made no apologies and wished us a good night which came off very sarcastic. This was very disappointing as we spent $217 that night.

Had a great dinner with mates and ordered short beef ribs and banoffee pie. Overall, the service was top notch, ambience is awesome. However, even though the ribs were cooked nicely and very tender, there was absolutely no flavour unfortunately and the mushroom sauce did not compliment the beef at all. On the flip side the banoffee pie was absolutely amazing and ended up being the best dish.

We totally love this place and it’s menus are just delicious. Generous portions is always a tick with us and seems that everyone we’ve taken to Johnnys also loves it. Can’t wait for the next time out. Highly recommended.

Make sure you go on the weekend, the best steak in pukekohe right now been there a few times and it been nothing but amazing

I went to try this place out and unfortunantly did not live up to expectations, average portions for money spent and not much flavour.

Dined here this evening with a small group. I really wanted to say I enjoyed the meal but I felt it was average unfortunately (in taste/flavour and portion size for $). I believe my colleagues thought the same. A big positive was the friendly service and atmosphere, a busy dining room on a Monday evening.

Went to johnnys for a work function. Great atmosphere and great food!!! Absolutely no complaints when food arrived!! Only let down was service, ordered a bottle of wine and asked for four glasses, received two glasses of wine and no bottle, had to repeat orders for drinks a few times but otherwise server was very pleasant.

The chef and owner, Johnny, is a real expert on steaks. Sauces were also nice, but I would suggest more generous serving because they<br/>were served separately on a diminutive saucer (definitely not enough for a huge steak).<br/><br/>Fried food - 2/5<br/>Calamari breading was tough and starchy. My son's chicken katsu breading was burnt and became hard not long after being served.<br/><br/>Ambience - 3/5<br/>The dining area was cramped. My chair was already touching the chair of the person behind me, and I was positioned close to the table without much room for moving back.<br/><br/>Price - 3/5<br/>Paid 111 dollars for 2 main steak meals, a kid's meal and appetizer without drink.<br/><br/>Overall, my rating of 4/5 is hugely impacted by my pleasant gustatory experience with the steak. The service was awesome. The food was fantastic. Party of 11 our mains came out at the same time. The pork belly was to die for. Everyone very happy with the food. Calamari not worth the $16 though.  I buy better calamari from paknsave.

Restaurant looks fabulous. Steaks are absolutely the best in pukekohe. Even other food, pork ribs and chicken, amazing! Great service as well.

Don’t have much to say but a big fat WOW!!!😲 Sister in-law rocks up out of the blues and picks me up for dinner. The Australian woman really knows her food right lol. My Steak Heaven I recall whispering to her. Every thing smelt and tasted so so so damn delicious. Highly recommended beside the five stars. Johnny’s Steak House...YES I will be back.
