Excellent food, great service, and very friendly owner, highly recommended! FYI, try the Red Thai Curry or the Green Thai curry, both are amazing!

Easily the best Thai we've had. Others seem to be hit and miss on flavour. This place is consistently delicious every time. Super friendly owners and staff. Highly recommend!

The food from little Thai is amazing, every single time. The dishes taste is consistent, and the portions generous. My fave Thai in Pukekohe and surroundings.

If you are looking at comment a year ago or more please try ignore. If you have visited this place over a year ago I would recommend coming in again! My partner and I felt like Thai so we came for dinner and it was SO good! Waitress need a bit of practice but these are new owners since March 2022 and it was so nice! Such an underrated place for the food that is served. Give this place another shot this food wont disappoint

We love Thai... so it was great to finally get to the see the new premises/management with its more modern, clean, fresh and stylish decor. Nice work guys. (BTW This site needs updated photos.) We could only order their takeaways tonight however, we look forward to dining in. The phone reception was fantastic, food was ready fast, on time and beautifully done. Plenty of parking nearby. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. Food tasted so great. Spice level was awesome. Will definitely be back. Thank you for working really hard (in the current economy too), to add quality Thai dining to the community. Best wishes.

Wow what a lovely place. Incredible service and outstanding food. Portions perfect and everyone goes out of their way to make you feel right at home. A little slice of Thailand right on our doorstep. Don't be shy make turn for authentic quality food.

I ordered takeaway Chicken Pad Thai $19.00, and spring rolls $10.00 (for 5). Really happy with the quality and flavour of the food! I wouldn't exactly call it authentic Thai but it's delicious nonetheless. It's slightly pricey for takeaway Thai from my experience. However, they did give well sized portions. Looking forward to trying more of the menu and dining in next time.

We visited this lovely place on the last Friday. The food was great, place was clean and service was prompt and friendly. Only suggestion: chicken basket in the kids menu might better be called chips basket. Other than this, we loved the dining experience and we look forward to returning.

Can I give a 0 star for this place?

We ordered tum yum soup, a chicken and 2 prawns. The Prawn tom yum soup was blend just like prawns in some water without the actual taste of tom yum, ginger, lemongrass. It was so blend that it didn't make sense. When having the chicken tom-yum and then the prawn one, it was extremely different.

For mains, we ordered Chicken Cashew nuts, Chicken in Oyster Sauce and Chicken Pad Thai. My Oyster Sauce dish was blend as well like the tom-yum sauce, edible but taste the salt, oyster sauce or anything else.

Well the Pad Thai was served 1st and straight away it was so pathetic that all 3 of us didn't like it. The dish smelled eggy even without taking a bite from the plate and when you have a bite it, it was even more pathetic. We sent the dish back straight away and told the person who served us.

Upon getting the bill, i was billed for all dishes even though we returned the Pad Thai dish. The person at the counter and the person who served us both said they do not refund for dishes that have been returned if the customer doesn't like it. Then they kept on saying that the same food is served to all. I am not sure if the same food is served to all then what's the point to made to order at such restaurants.

Pathetic service, didn't even offer for a replacement dish for the Pad Thai and even being arrogant. Last time I would go to this place.

Thankfully I was in good company when I dined here this evening. The service was very poor, waited over 20 minutes after arriving to order drinks, and some time after that to order food. No one asked or checked if our food was ok, main plates not cleared after half an hour of finishing food. A man - maybe the owner stood behind the bar staring into the restaurant the entire time which was very off putting, intimidating and uncomfortable. I have loved this restaurant in the past but tonight I left feeling very disappointed. The food was pleasant, shame about the service. When we paid we weren’t asked how our meal was, just handed the bill with little gratitude shown. We love supporting local business but also expect local businesses to love having us in their establishments.

A most disappointing takeaway. Lacked in flavour and visual appeal. The deep fried mixed entree was not crisped or browned.

The restaurant has had a overhaul since our last visit, really nice decor.

I had the Duck Basil, and my wife had the Chicken Yellow Curry. Although mine was quite tasty and filling, I felt their was not enough duck, it felt overwhelmed by the amount of vegetables. My wife did say how much she enjoyed her meal.

The staff were very attentive.

Won't stay away so long next time.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing and fresh so much flavour. Cozy little place, it was nice and warm, will be definitely be going back

Service - 4/5
Couldn't fault the service, as staff were pleasing and friendly. The chef would even come out of the kitchen and help at the counter when needed.

Food - 3.5/5
Sizzling sirloin steak (medium rare) was cooked to perfection. Seafood tom yum was okay. Pad thai was slightly disappointing as the noodles were a bit overcooked and a bit too flavourful. My son's meal of Thai-style sweet and sour chicken with rice was excellent in terms of portion and taste. It also came with a free sundae.

Ambience - 4/5
My family always loves Thai restaurants as the Thai cultural ornaments never fail to amuse my son.

Price - 3/5
I think other Thai restaurants offer larger servings or slightly cheaper prices for the same portions we had here.

I love the interiors of the restaurant, it makes me feel like I'm in Thailand. It can feel cramped when they're fully book. The waiting time for the food is reasonable but it can take them a while when they're full. Their customer service is okay. I love their sizzling beef the most! Price wise, it's a wee bit expensive but you get good food. I will come back here. I just recommend to book when you're planning to visit on weekends

Had read quite a few mixed reviews so didn't know what to expect when I visited with friends who had been here several times. Everything was great from the environment to the service to the food.
Little Thai is a small restaurant with typical Thai decor. Our waitress was friendly & helpful. Nothing was an issue.
We ordered wine & beer - they have a small drinks menu but cover most options.
For our meals we all had starters including Tom Kha Gai which was nice & spicy, prawn cutlets which were a bit dry but had a nice sauce, and chicken satay. I'd read a few negative comments about the satay but it was one of the nicer ones I've tried. Chicken was still tender not dry, and the sauce had lots of flavour. Sweeter than some, but not overly so.
For mains we had a few options & all were enjoyed - green curry chicken (asked for hot but it was more medium), sweet & sour pork, sweet & sour chicken, chicken & cashews, beef & Ginger

Whole snapper was over cooked and dry. Asked for all dishes medium.... no spice at all! Entree was boxed supermarket crap. Mains were very bland but surprisingly very sweet! Prawn Pad Thai tasted like tomato soup... Very disappointed.
Service very slack. Has certianly deteriorated over the last few years to the point we will not be back.

Was so disappointed the food was really average but the service was even worst no tables were cleared the waiters ate behind counter in plan sight and never come to wait on you apart from they took your order. Will never be back smelt so bad of mould it felt like you were eating it with every mouth full
Nina
Food absolutely tasty, not oily and wasn't too much sauce. Had chicken satay for starter, peanut sauce was done to perfection and chicken was so yummy and tender. Pad Thai prawn was yum, prawns were crispy and were big prawns as well which was about 8 of them. Atmosphere lovely and a lovely Thai place.
Don't let the name put you off as food is DELICIOUS !

Food was good, the service was okay. I had pad Thai and it was really nice. It was huge and had to take it home in a takeaway container. So the portion size for the price is good.

Came here on a reasonably quiet Sunday night so were easily able to get a table. The waitress was quite friendly and the atmosphere was really nice - loved the decor and the tablewear. We ordered the Thai Spring Rolls, Massaman Curry with Lamb (and rice which was an extra $2 per person), a duck dish which came with lettuce, cucumber and tomato with a fish sauce thai dressing, and an extra side of vegetables. I like things very mild and found the Massaman curry to be absolutely delicious - I have had it on a previous occasion so knew it would be good, was lightly creamy and had excellent flavour. The spring rolls were also really good - a nice size with a tasty vegetable filling and came with a mild sweet chilli dipping sauce. I wasn't so keen on the duck dish - the meat was very chewy and I'm personally not a fan of fish sauce so found the flavour not very appealing. The vegetables were a great accompaniment to the curry and rice (was a mix of steamed cauliflower, bok choy, broccoli, baby corn, zucchini and carrot). Will be back for more curry and am keen to try some of their other dishes :)

Excellent food and cosy atmosphere. Food came seriously fast. Staff were pleasant and smiling however once our meals and drinks arrived the service stopped. Would have loved another drink or to be offered desert.

Tried Little Thai for a change from Muang Thai and was very disappointed. Tom Yum soup cloudy and not a clean taste at all. Chicken Green curry was stodgy and far too sweet, overdosed with coconut cream i think. Will stick to Muang Thai.

definetly one of the best Thai places i have been in Auckland ! They are very busy at weekends , so definetly book before you go there as i didnt and my only option was take away .. and i needed to wait take away for an 1 hour .. i have to be honest .. i did got annoyed of that ... but when i had first mouthful .. the wait was worth it !!! :)

Best Thai we have had in a long time! Fresh ingredients, generous portions and very tasty. We will definitely return next time we are in the area.

My wife and I have been dining at the Little Thai restaurant since its opening under new management and the place looks absolutely stunning!! I don’t know what other reviewers have been saying but personally the food is great and the service is consistently good. If I had one thing to suggest however it would be more sauce on the sizzling dishes as it tends to sometimes dry a little too quick. Often we happen to dine in when the place is pretty packed but the staff manages to pull it off and provide excellent hospitality. The tall waiter in particular as well as the boss is really nice; they are fast and efficient people who always have a smile on their face which is both warming and welcoming. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that likes Thai, or is looking for something new to try!

I think to be fair to the owners of this restaurant it needs to be made clear that they are fairly new and have only been there a few months. Previous reviews should, in my mind, be wiped out as they apply to the previous people. We dined at Little Thai last Saturday, the place was busy busy but unlike some restaurants where it gets too loud from other tables, we found that we could still have a pleasant conversation without having to shout across to each other. The layout is such that you still have enough room. This was our first visit and without doubt we shall be back. One of our party is a Thai lady and she claimed it was excellent Thai food. We visit Thailand every year for holidays and we loved the authentic setting of this restaurant, we felt we were back in our favourite holiday destination. The service was excellent, those warm Thai smiles, lovely table settings and crockery and the food was superb. The Red Duck Curry was really yummy, as was everything, Pad Thai Prawns, Sweet Basil Pork, Lamb & Ginger. We had Curry Puff and Money Bags for entrees. We could not fault anything. Can't wait to take other friends there....

January 2013
Our 2nd visit, again with our Thai friends. Wow! this was simply better than the first time, if that could possibly be so! The flavours were just divine.. The Choo Chee Prawns and Red Duck Curry were the standouts of our choices but none of us were disappointed in any way. Again, it was reasonably busy for a sunday night and also considering it is still the holidays. Can't wait to go back!!

This place has great food, very consistent, though I only get take away from here because of the service.

After reading the last two reviewers it is hard to believe we were at the same restaurant. At 7.15pm we were greeted almost at the door at a very full and buzzing night. We hadn't booked our party of four. We were given a choice of either of the last two tables. Menus arrived and within a very short time we were giving drinks orders, and soon after gave our order for entrees and mains. Wines and beer arrived and maybe five minutes after that so did our entrees. Plates were cleared and about 15 mins later our mains arrived. All four of us thought the meals were top class, as was the service. Definately on our list of great places to eat and take friends.

Had a very disappointing group dinner at Little Thai on Saturday night. We pre booked for a group of 12 well in advance. When we arrived no one even greeted us ? We sat ourselves down at the reserved table & waited 25 minutes to even be spoken to. On numerous occasions we had to attract the attention of the staff to ask for more drinks, menus & could we please order ? I even resorted to putting my hand up for attention. This wasn't noticed so I walked up to the bar & waited for the 2 waitresses to finish their conversation before they bothered to look my way !! MORE RICE PLEASE ??? The food was extremely average but the service was diabolical. We wont be returning.

My daughter and I went to have dinner here two weeks ago, but ended up walking out. The service from the waitress was appalling!!! She should not be in a customer service role; she was rude and could not even manage a smile. I will tell all my friends to avoid this restaurant!!!
Beatrice Ablett
Terrible service! They were short on staff, there was no communication or any customer service to tell you that there would be a delay on food. NO apologies until they were asked questions as too why such unrealistic dealys. Waited 1 3/4 hours for our mains to arrive and then some orders were wrong!! Drinks were flat, waitress and other staff including owner was disgusting, argued with customers when food orders were wrong, service manners appauling - reaching full length of table to get plates without saying excuse me and stretching across customers faces was totally inexcusable.
Food was OK but not what I would call authentic Thai food.
Will not be recommending this restaurant and will not be revisiting again!
Phil
Great tasting authentic food, you can virtually order anything off the menu and it will be fragrant and yummy, I like trying something different every time.

My wife especially likes the Pad Thai, but I prefer sauce dishes, especially the different curries.

I note one reviewer said it's more like Chinese, I couldn't disagree more, very Thai.
Jill
Excellent meal.. I had the prawns and they were awesome... thank you
Sally
food is fantastic, best thai in Pukekohe, give it a go!

outstanding! took my parents there last night for the first time the food and service was some of the best we have seen in a long time. The decor is very nice and quite traditional, the menu is HUGE and food came very fast and well prepared. I asked for a coke zero which they didnt have, one of the staff then went down the road to the shop to get me one!! place also has an "A" health certificate. I dont think you can ask for much more in a resturant, definately going back!!

My wife has coeliac disease so cannot take gluten. A lot of things - most soy sauces, for instance - have gluten. We live in Pukekohe and love Little Thai - and they are VERY helpful about seeing that she can get something without gluten.

We love it.

Went to Little Thai on my birthday, 20 August, it was fantastic. Food was beautiful and the service fantastic, very nice people and we would go back there in a heartbeat! Pretty reasonable night out as well in terms of prices.

Have dined here many times, every time it has been delicious and enjoyable, highly recommended!

GoodI

I normally eat the Muang Thai but wanted to try their mixed entree here so ordered to take away. Upon walking in the floors were really creaky which made the glasses on tables shake quite loudly, uncomfortable for myself and other diners (and no I am not fat).

My entree has just come out of kitchen as I got to counter to pay and then went straight home to eat (less than 5 mins). Chicken from the satay was the only good thing and the satay sauce was average, the prawn or shrimp bread was only lukewarm in the middle and didn't taste cooked, the curry puff was soggy and not pleasant flavoring, the money bag was less than average and the spring roll was just okay.

I've been here one other time a few years back now and thought it was more like your standard Chinese takeout than Thai. Muang is definitely better and more authentic tasting!

Don't think I'll bother trying here again.

This place has the BEST thai food! Been there heaps and everytime it is just yummy!
