Review Cafe Berne' - Pukekohe

Quiet, calm little spot, with pleasantly shaded view of the street. Excellent choice if you need tasty gluten free options, or prefer organic. The Eggs Benedict and coffee were both delicious, will definitely return when I'm back in NZ again

Pleasant service Most of the food we ordered were satisfying except for the Eggs Benedict. I personally like Big Fry, the grilled Portobello mushrooms and black pudding were good. I highly recommend them instead of the smoky baked beans. As of the Eggs Benedict, the café needs to change the Hollandaise sauce. It has a "on the shelf for too long" after taste. But why I really want to award this place a 4 star ratings, is the service rendered in Berne and especially by Max. He was friendly, accommodating and professional. Definitely, a great asset in this café. Even the manager came out to check how were we doing. The service has caught my attention and definitely better than the one across the street, that treated us rudely. I would surely come back again and try other food on the menu. A GREAT PLACE FOR FAMILY.

Enjoyed Beansbreakfast and large flat white. Service was great. Not a long wait, great. Food was great too and coffee, awesome. Cosy place. First time I've ever been there. Yes worth a visit. I'd go back there again.

If you like to sit and have breakfast lunch outside table seating is nice. As you walk in nice brick nostalgic themed deco. The meals available the prices were of good value. Cheaper compared to other cafe places. i ordered the Omelette with beans and it was delicious (photo). There is an ajoining room with windows open giving you that openess feeling. High chair for your little one. Magazines to read..water available. Good place coming back again.

Nice cafe with nice food at a good price Just nothing to special about it or the service. Not bad and would happily go back if some one suggested there but would not be top of my list either.

When went to order, was not overly friendly at all. Specifically asked for 2 extra sides....one never arrived. When asked the waitress she left and never returned. Was slow getting orders and wasn’t very busy. On the upside, Sister and I had delicious mushrooms and eggs bene. But won’t be returning anytime soon. If Service doesn’t bother you but food does then could be your kinda place 😊

This place never disappoints! Usually go for brunch! Best eggs beni in Franklin by far. Tried the Green eggs and this is now my fav! Iced coffee was the perfect blend also!!
Pretty darn average. How does a cafe advertising allergy friendly have ONE dish on the lunch menu. This was ok tasting but nothing to make me come back.
Coffee was made well with a decent stretched almond milk but the beans themselves were bitter. Won’t bother coming back with so many better options around

Cute cafe on one of the side streets in Puke. Service was very friendly & welcoming & the inside clean & tidy. Seats also available outside.
Lots of healthy & not so healthy options available in the cabinet & on the menu.
Coffee was well made - generous servings, not bitter or week.
Went with some regulars who know the menu well. We had the mince on toast, green eggs bene & egg white omelette. All our food was well made.

Great Cafe with welcoming friendly staff. I had the savoury mince with poached egg it came with sour dough but I requested gluten free toast instead which wasn't a problem. They make yummy Chai Lattes and good coffee. My husband had the oatmeal pancakes which he enjoyed. They also have a good selection of cabinet food including gluten free options. The decor is basic but I think Cafe Berne is one of the better cafes in Pukekohe and reasonably priced.

Having not been in Pukekohe for some time I decided to try out two of the local cafes that I have not been in for some time.

As usual Cafe Berne meet my expectations, the Coffee and the Muffins are still the best in the town.

I will continue to return for sure :)

Keep up the good work ladies :)

Great little cafe. Too often people falsely claim homemade food, but Cafe Berne is genuine. Surperb food all made in their kitchen. The gluten free options are excellent. I highly recommend the fruit tarts.

Great food and wholesome ingredients! The coffee was perfect and well presented, I had a custard fruit tart which was absolutely beautiful and well priced...

If you want great food which is made using the best ingredients I'd recommend 'em!

My partner and I visited two days in a row.. after a great meal on Saturday (Creamy mushrooms on sourdough and eggs bene) however the wait for the meals was too long and staff could have been a bit more welcoming.

Sunday we went in and ordered two creamy mushrooms on toast which took even longer to get arrive and when it did they weren't creamy nor on sourdough bread as stated, the staff that was on the till was very cold and didn't even manage a smile.

We wont be going back again.

Ive walked by this cafe many times and always wanted to try it out, so one Sunday we decided to have breakfast.
I guess thats the thing about anticipation-either you fufill your hopes and thoroughly enjoy yourself or you have an anti climax.
The service was slow, the food was overpriced for what you received and was horribly average, the coffee was bland and the acoustics of the minature room for indoor seating made conversation difficult.
I expected an experience but the cafe lacks personality and atmosphere.
I can catagorically say we will not return.
