Review Kings Garden Restaurant - Pukekohe

This is a great place for a yum cha. Menu concise and easily understood. Food was amazing with very friendly staff eager to accommodate. This is my second time eating here. I will be back with friends in tow. Highly recommended.

Great Chinese food served piping hot and with fresh ingredients. The seafood vermicelli was an amazing dish! Also enjoyed the seafood with vegetables in the claypot.

The only Chinese resto that I’ve tried in Puke offering both yumcha and other Chinese dishes. You can find decent dimsum here!

My daughter and I enjoyed a very welcoming, friendly dining experience. Surprised us no one was in there at 7pm on a Friday evening. Food we ordered was brought to our table with a smile.. it was yum. I am recommending it to anyone who eats food. Well done. Thank you. To the meet and greet. Table service. Chefs. To our goodbye. I cannot fault.

We took our two kids here on a weekday and absolutely loved it!the food was delicious especially the chicken and corn soup and the dumplings, pork buns there was so much food we didn’t keep track of cost and ddnt notice we wer getting charged for bigger plates so it was quite expensive but worth it and we will be back again for another lunch treat one day :)

Great food, service was polite but pretty poor/basic. The food is certainly worth returning for tho. With a little more effort on service would return far more frequently with friends!

We held a big family gathering here (80 + people) and the staff were very helpful and friendly with the planning of the menu and their service was excellent. The food was delicious and there was so much of it. All of our family enjoyed their Kai. Also a very reasonable price to pay for the quality and quantity of food served.

We got a really nice pot of tea when seated, the food was delicious, and exactly as expected from a quality chinese place.

Great sticky rice and pork + cabbage dumplings. Huge restaurant so atmosphere is average but at least you will always get a seat!

we had yum char for a birthday treat today. Food is fast and plentiful, surroundings are clean and it was nice and cool inside. As a vegetarian I would love to see some more meat free options available, otherwise very happy and economical as well $70 for 5 people at lunch.

It is such a pleasure of having a yumchar restaurant down south of Auckland. I won’t compare it the same standard as other central located yumchar restaurant simply it never will be fair to compete in the same way. The restaurant overall very clean and bright. I’m living south Auckland for almost half a decade, every time im walking in to restaurant like this I literally had no expectation. I bought two suimai and bbq pork bun as takeaway. The server very polite and service is very quick. The price abit overprice but that was ok. The taste was toward humble size and good portion. I like the “humble taste” which you couldnt find in any yumchar place. The siumai and bbq pork bun have more lean meat instead of fat. Simply my personally liking. In my normal review usually I will give 3 stars but by looking the location and the overall experience I give 4 in this case. I hope they could continually improve and having a business in this location I believe pretty critical and definitely a good pleasure for the local can have yumchar experience without far travelling. I will definite back for dine in. Stay tune.

Spacious restaurant with friendly service and delicious food. Yum cha for lunch and Peking duck is highly recommended for dinner. Finally I can have a nice Chinese restaurant in Pukekohe. Definitely come again.

Ordered two take away dishes and service was fast although was told 15 mins wait. Food came out, all packed in like 10 mins. Lives in Waiuku so, by the time I reach home, it's slightly soggy. With that taken into consideration, the lemon fish that I ordered was doughy with not much fish inside the coating. Sweet and sour pork is not the best I've tasted but decent enough. Would come back to try their yum cha as this is like the closest yum cha place from Waiuku.

First time trying yum char at this local Chinese restaurant on Mothers day. The service was great. We ordered fried sesame balls. They were fresh and crispy. I didn't enjoy the steamed Prawn n chive dumplings, beef rice roll and shredded pork congee. The pastry of the dumping and the rice rolls were too soggy. The congee was lukewarm and lack of flavour. Overall, it was disappointing.

Went for lunch today. We had a booking in advance so they would have known we were coming, we waited 40 minutes and got 3 dishes, went to ask if we could order off the menu like others were doing and got told no. It seems they serve asians before others, not intended as a racial comment, just an observation. They dont have any sort of order other than rushing around doing whole lot of nothing. The food itself was fine however so won't knock that. The service, or lack of, was very poor. Not sure if staffing was an issue but really need to improve service. It's not the first time we've all been. We were trying to support a local business but probably won't go back.

Decent food. Clean and spacious dining area. Affordable prices. This place ticks off the trifecta of a pleasant dining experience!

If ever our plan to relocate in Pukekohe pushes through, this will easily be our go-to place in lieu of our favorite yumcha in Auckland!

Been knowing this place since earlier this year but never got the chance or guts to try as still believe Grand Lark or Sun World are the best two yum char places to go to, yet, the long distances drive is putting the ideas away of leaving the town.
Today we went in and quite surprised at how clean and bright the restaurant is. Although they have quite less options for the dim sum, we quite enjoy our meal there. We love the Prawn dumplings and will defiantly come every weekend!

Please come support this local Yum Char Chinese restaurant!!
Came here for dinner tonight. Really impressed with the food. Authentic Chinese dishes- we got the honey pork chop and eggplant with pork mince. Service was really good and food came out exceptionally fast. Have been here for yum cha for lunch as well which was just as good.

Very nice. Dim sums are yummy and the dinner dishes are very delicious. Strongly recommend if you like the Chinese dish and it's a good place for family to get together.

We always love to try new places, especially when it is yumcha and closeby. We live in Waiuku, 20 mins from Pukekohe and how happy we are when we know there is a new yumcha place was gonna open soon. We were there in the first week Kings Garden open and become a regular since then.

We probably almost try every single dish in yumcha menu (I can only upload 10 photos unfortunately). Even the menu is quite limited compared to older yumcha place in town, we thought the dish were quite nice. We love the fact that we can try the coriander in our coriander dumpling and the chives in our chives dumpling. Most steam dishes were quite nice. Some of the non steam dishes (panfried or fried) can be a tad in dry side (example our turnip cake). If people like sweet, their pinnaple bun is quite nice too.

We love the space and atmosphere, restaurant very spacious and clean. Staff is kind but can get too busy during peak hours. Restaurant well priced too. Best to come here between 11.30am-1pm to ensure lots of different dishes are on display for yumcha.
