Was hosted very well by our server Joseph! He was friendly and well spoken. Atmosphere was great. Ordered the market fish alongside a scotch fillet and both was excellent. Not to mention their scotched carrot which was so amazing. Overall highly recommended to try their steaks!

We had fabolous night dine in here, atmosphere is decent. They have good table service and acknowledge us so well for the menu, it's worth to have a wonderful night here. The food is unique and well-served. The first floor you can have bar drinking with friends. Second floor are the restaurant part. Also they have nice dessert menu after having steak feasting.

No doubt about it, this place is seriously amazing! Just let the chef work their magic and enjoy the deliciousness. The staff here are super friendly. It's hands down the best spot for steak in Queenstown, my favorite restaurant in town.

Thanks so much for our wonderful experience and divine food. Both our maitre D, and fabulous French waiter Charles were so professional and they ensured we had all we needed constantly, to make the night be a smooth seamless banquet of courses, along with the other staff. Sincere thanks to the chefs we didn't meet. Food we wont forget! Beautiful surroundings, best wines and lovely comfortable décor.

Absolutely the best steak I’ve ever had. Just trust the chef to cook the meat how it’s best done and enjoy. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable of all the different cuts of steak. This is definitely the best steak place in Queenstown and probably my favorite restaurant in the town. For a side, get the truffle Mac n cheese too 👌🏻

Good dining experience. Not quite on par with it's opening heyday. But very busy & popular spot to dine.

Great meal and drinks! I’m glad we made reservations a week in advance. We loved the bar below the restaurant. It was cozy and the drinks were great. We got steaks and some sides. They were cooked perfectly and had great flavors.

The best meat in Queenstown. The staff was great, very welcoming and all the foods we ordered were tasty and with a price corresponding to its quality.

A wonderful venue for a special occasion dinner. The staff were attentive and the meal was divine.

Fabolouso! Was introduced the different cuts of meat and we finally chose petite in eye fillet and scotch wagyu with honey glazed carrots as sides. Yummiliciously good.

Great atmosphere and service. Steak is perfectly cooked and the vegetables are delicious. The sugar top of the crème brûlée is a little too thick. Would be better if it's thinner. Overall a great experience.

Was in last week. Amazing experience. Finally got oysters this time, and were really fresh. I appreciated more the oysters were rinsed and didn't have any shell pieces in them. Lamb was lovely, that I shared with my partner. Is a must to share with. We ordered the Ribeye Fillet with garlic butter, delicious! And I had order the candied kumara, loved it as always. Highly recommended for date night, family gatherings or catch-up with friends!

Great ambience - perfect date night, the food was superb, in particular the way the meat was cooked. Giulio was our waiter for the evening and was exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly - highly recommended - 5/5

Fantastic dining experience. Our waiter Gus was friendly, up for a laugh and knowledgeable. We all learnt more about meat on Friday. The oysters were to die for. MJ Van Lingen will testify as he ate most of them. The sides and sauces were all good, as should be expected but the standout was the steak. Even getting one of the cheaper cuts (rump cap/picanha), it was perfectly cooked rare as ordered, tender, flavoursome. The wine list is excellent. The only downside is you will pay for what you get, but we didn't leave disappointed. We had a group of 10ish, about $1800 including about half a bottle of wine per person. I'd like to take out another mortgage and take my wife here to try some of the fancier wagyu cuts.

Was greeted very well and our server Tony was incredible! Friendly well spoken his know large of the meat and did a demonstration on the different cut available which was amazing. Atmosphere was amazing. Overall highly recommend going for experience and food!

Came in on a Friday night for some late dinner. Ordered some steak and a lot of sides to go with it. The truffle bacon mac and cheese was packed with flavour and the cheese was done nice and crisp. The vegetables were grilled well. However, most of the food was quite salty.

Staff were really great and shows that front of house can make the difference (otherwise I would have rated 1 star)<br/>This place is a steakhouse. Of all mains ordered all were under-cooked and we have had plenty of medium and med rare to judge against.<br/>

Absolutely incredible! The waiter was so wonderful and attentive. Found a pair of magnifying glasses when my mum forgot her’s at home and recommended the most amazing bottle of white wine to us. The 45 day aged steak was incredible and cooked to a perfect medium rare. The sides of steak fries, brussel sprouts and carrots were incredible too. Finished off with the lemon cheesecake, bomb alaska and affogato. Everything was so tasty, one of my favourite places to eat in Queenstown!

Went in for my husband’s birthday wanting a fairly fancy steak dinner and was not dissapointed. We had oysters and the lamb belly for appetizers. He ordered the wagyu scotch fillet and I the taupo petit fillet. The horseradish truffle sauce for him and the bearnaise for myself, and the brocollini and the special truffle mac’n’cheese. We were so happy with our choices and our wine pairing it was such a great experience with excellent service and amazing food. 100% recommend.

Terrible service.<br/>I went to this terrible place on yesterday 4th june.<br/>We ordered one medium rare scotch fillet steak and one welldone eye fillet steak. Cuz my mom does not like medium and rare steak.<br/>However, stupid staff or chef provided medium rare eye fillet. Ok, it was okay, so i asked very politeily it looks not welldone stake. The one of lady who works at the restaurant said, will cook more. Untill here, everything was good. Yes people can make mistake. But, when we recived steak again, it was burn all the stake. which is really black steak because of over cook. The one of chines guy who seated at beside of us table said, "go to claim."<br/>But, the jervoise manager said, it is normal.<br/>But i couldnot agree his opinion, Stake was burn like black. So i asked, if you are i, are u going to pay to eat this kind of burn stake? He didnt say anything, also he didnt aplozise to us. Also he used bad word at the behind of us. Next to the our table people told to me, "that manager used bad word, when u seat again".<br/>I felt really bad. Because, it seems like a racisim.<br/> We came from auckland, we often went auckland jervoise, but queens town jervoise service is really bad. I will not recomend to my close people.<br/>Please dont believe your serviceship by yourself, if you think your perfact. <br/>Cuz service is 100 - 1 = zero.

Warm vibe upon entering Jervois - friendly waiter welcomed us. We ordered an 1 kg ribeye steak, prepared into mouthful slices by the staff. Delicious. The salads were amazing, each bite delivered a crisp crunch which we easily devoured in under a minute.<br/><br/>Taste: 4.5<br/>Aesthetics: 4.5<br/>Service: 5<br/>Ambience: 4.5

Amazing. We have been to Jervois Steakhouse in Ponsonby and it was super good and Queenstown branch is even better! <br/>Pretty self explanatory. <br/>Service was impeccable, they even surprised us with a complimentary dessert after hearing it was our anniversary. <br/>Can’t fault the food, we left sooo satisfied and happy with our choices. Awesome value for money too.

Great location in Queenstown with indoor, outdoor and upstairs seatings. We ordered a medium eye fillet and a medium well done sirlon. Both of them are tasty and juicy. We had tried a number of  steakhouse in Auckland and Jervois steakhouse in Queenstown exceeds our expectation. I highly recommend it.

I wasn’t looking forward to this meal as I had been to Jervois in Ponsonby & the food was sub par. But I shouldn’t have been worried coz the Queenstown Jervois exceeded all expectations. Our table was in a great location next to the window. Our waitress was brilliant the perfect balance of checkin in if you are ok but not being intrusive and chatty. We started with oysters cooked to perfection & my partner had the crispy calamari which came with this green sauce that was delish. Then we both had the rib eye on the bone. Now usually they come with these massive bones but not here. The bone was probably 50gms the rest 320 gms was pure delicious perfectly cooked steak. The sides were candied kumara with pecans and savory cabbage. Both completed the steak perfectly. Finally for dessert we had the lemon cheesecake which was perfect end to the evening

Best restaurant I’ve tried in Queenstown! <br/><br/>We had the Wagyu firstlight scotch and they were absolutely delicious, tender and perfectly cooked. I lived in Boston for many years and visited a fair amount of steakhouses frequently and Jervois certainly ranks high.<br/><br/>We had the whipped potatoes and truffle parmesan fries as sides. Absolutely delicious, the whipped potatoes were smooth and the fries were crispy.<br/><br/>We also tried the mushroom truffle gnocchi, could live without those. another entre we tried was the beef tartare and that was delicious! <br/><br/>Tried a couple of cocktails as well, peach cobbler and the clover club, definitely recommend both. <br/><br/>Lastly, we had the rhubarb creme brûlée and that was very good as well, a bit sweet for my taste but not bad, and very generous in size. <br/><br/>The overall ambiance was good and service was excellent. Would definitely come back to Jervois! <br/>

Any thoroughbred carnivore will tell u this is the best kind of steakhouse. Go in, choose ur cut, ur doneness, ur sauce, ur sides and ur beverage (not dissimilar to McDonalds). My happy meal was a very very nicely cooked medium rare wagyu. Marbling is listed as 8+ so my knife sliced through it like butter. Sides were excellent; mashed potatoes are probably the best I’ve ever had.

King crab leg was a bit bland 2/5<br/>Steak was excellent 5/5<br/>Sides: kumara 5/5, spinach 3/5, fries 4.5/5, mushroom 4/5<br/><br/>I’m very glad this steak house made good steaks :)<br/>Apart from that the sides were ok, I was a little disappointed by the king crab leg.<br/><br/>Summary:<br/>Service 5/5<br/>Food 3.5/5<br/>Ambience 4.5/5

Food: 🌟🌟🌟🌟<br/>We love seafood and moreso loved it during our experience at the Jervois Steakhouse. The bluff oysters were so fresh, large and juicy. We could come back for the oysters alone. We also ordered the wagyu steak which was very filling and had good marbling.<br/><br/>Service: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟<br/>Staff were exceptional throughout our whole experience there. We were presented a meatboard of the various cuts to better our judgement on our food choices and our waiter was attentive and friendly the whole night.<br/><br/>Price: 🌟🌟🌟🌟<br/>Definitely on the dearer end of the spectrum but worth it 👌

Crispy skin duck was not at all crispy and never is according to waitress as it is cooked sous-vide. Change the menu or change the cooking process. There was no venison or T-Bone steak available due to “Chinese new year”. Seriously? Smallest Rib eye available was 900 grams so unless you both want the Ribeye you miss out. My steak was served blue despite ordering medium rare. The replacement steak was up to standard however the pepper sauce was bland and watery. The peas, bacon and mint featured inconsistently cut bacon rasher pieces rather than lardons which would have better suited the dish. We didn’t see or taste any mint in this side, nor was thyme evident in the carrot and thyme side. This restaurant failed to meet expectations but at least the maître d admitted they’d ‘missed the mark’ and applied a 25% discount to the bill.

The vibe at Jervois Steakhouse is very lovely. I had an eye fillet that was cooked to perfection. One that I really liked was that the menu had a large selection of sauces to choose from! It is slightly pricy but well worth visiting on a special occasion.

Great location in Queenstown with indoor, outdoor & upstairs seating.<br/>Service was excellent from all staff we interacted with.<br/>Food overall was good although the duck was drier than I've had previously. Whitebait fritter was the special & was full of whitebait. The Beetroot risotto was perfectly aldente and both desserts were tasty & well balanced.

Jervois is a very nice, upper class steakhouse - kinda reminded me of the Rockpool. We unfortunately had plans afterwards, it's the kind of place you need to spend at least 2 hours.. We had a slightly painful 15 min wait for drinks. They brought out a smorgasbord of beef cuts and gave us a full run down on each piece before we placed our orders which was very interesting! The boys ordered a Japanese Wagyu which was sliced by the waiter at our table, tasted amazing. Steaks, sides and king crab were all delicious - although, the serve of broccolini had quite a bit of broccoli mixed in which was pretty sneaky. Staff were lovely and very professional. I'd come back for sure!

Enjoyed our evening in QT. The Aged Fillet was beautiful but the eye fillet was overcooked. All and all very enjoyable.<br/>Nice sides and the deserts were lovely.

I much prefer Jervois steakhouse in Queenstown over that in Auckland. Views aside, I find the service and food to be consistently better. I had the rib eye for two which was served at the table and it was the juiciest and tenderest one I've ever had. But my "go-to" is either the eye fillet on the bone, or wagyu hanging tender. Goes perfectly with horseradish béarnaise or the Gorgonzola mascarpone.. the porcini jus is good too but I prefer the other two. My favourite side are the Mac & cheese fritter and the JSH creamed spinach, it's even good as a sauce! I am getting hungry thinking about it all now.. Book ahead during busy seasons to avoid disappointment..

The food was excellent.  Every element was very well executed; my steak was perfect and the BBQ sauce was delicious; the sides were very pleasant also.  Having a bar downstairs though, meant that some of the customers were absurdly loud.  I came on a Saturday night, granted, so it may have been a one off incident, but it would have been nice to hear ourselves talk without literally having to shout.  It was expensive, but so is all of Queenstown; plus the quality of the meal made the expense worth it.
Steak Me Out
Our last stop in New Zealand was Queenstown, I had two places I wanted to have a steak, the first being Jervois Steak House. I went for lunch, taking advantage of their special: a 200g rib eye off the bone, aka scotch fillet, with fries and a sauce for $25. I ordered it medium rare with a truffle chipotle and horseradish béarnaise as sauce.

Perfect steak. I'm glad the entree menu looked less than appealing (an odd collection) because had we indulged, we would never have made it as far as we did through the rib eye for two. A perfectly cooked medium rare 1 kg, with some hand cut fries, a couple of sauces and steamed veggies on the side. As gluttonous as we both are, we couldn't finish it so sadly did not get to dessert. <br/><br/>It's located in the Sofitel, so the fitout is slick and intimate, service is professional. My advice is to ignore the non red meat items on the menu - stick to the steaks and you can't go wrong.

Both Jervois queenstown and auckland are amazing, service is absolutely top notch, atmosphere is great and menu for steak/meat offers a variety for all meat-lovers. Price very reasonable for the quality of food you get, starters a little pricey but you won't be disappointed quality wise. Staff very, very knowledgable about what they offer, highly recommend. Presentation and general feel of restaurant very nice.

The best steakhouse in queenstown! Have to try the qagyu hanging tender. I melt for that. And some people alsp craving for the rump for two, it's humongous!! The cream spinach would also be a great sides for your steak.

Possibly one of the best steaks I've ever had - IN MY LIFE. Started off with some Bluff oysters (always a crowd pleaser), Black Angus sirloin with Porcini jus (medium well) - I can swear the meat literally melted in my mouth, it was that good !!! - and Chocolate Fondant. Very well done, very yummy.<br/><br/>Service was very polished (almost made me feel that i should have donned on a cocktail dress or something). But hey, we came for the good food and we got it :) <br/><br/>Highly recommended, we went on a Thurs night with a booking and the place was full. So make sure yo always book a table beforehand.
