Review The London, Queenstown - Queenstown

Visited here on a Saturday evening and the place was pretty quiet with only 2 other tables occupied. The ambience looked like this place was a make shift night club (which it turns out, is true). The decor is more like that of the London underground (tube station). That did not impact the quality of the food though. We ordered a half and half pizza with vego and chicken (extra $4 for half and half) and a 13 inch upgrade with the total around $35.00 which was good enough for 2 adults. The pizza base was crispy and soft and you could tell it was made fresh. They were generous with the toppings too. Overall, a good place to satisfy your pizza cravings. There was a kids menu too.

Pizza 🍕 yummy Design really cool and interesting take on London subway Lovely friendly service, our curly fries got forgotten about and turned up when we were nearly finished but other than that was a yummy dinner and would definitely go back for pizza

Called in after a bus trip from Doubtful Sound. Just needed a quick bite and a drink and were spoilt for choice. Great pizzas, good range of wines and beers and sensibly priced. It was a Sunday evening with few patrons, hence the 3* for atmosphere but would heartily recommend it.

They are not lying when they say the best pizzas in town. I'm in Queenstown for more than a year and I don't know how many pizzas I ate there, I think I tried everything on the menu since I arrived and I was never disappointed, except maybe with de mozzarella sticks but as a French I'm a bit picky with cheese I guess... Waiters were always really nice and same for the chefs, I had the luck to talk with them a little bit as it's an opened kitchen. I noticed that the restaurant is sometimes empty compared to Ferg Burger just next to it but I guess it's because it's underground... it's sad that there is not enough communication or publicity about this place to motivate people to go down the stairs, I'm sure it has very good potential and deserves to be full. I had good memories partying there too, as it's also a night club during night time.

<ö+ TasteMarked Reviews +Ăž> GOOD Service, GOOD Food and COOL Place! 😊 We had our dinner here today, 1st of Jan 2020 and we were not disappointed. Love how friendly the servers were đŸ„ł We ordered: Half/Half Pizza - Super supreme and Fully loaded. It’s literally supreme and loaded! đŸ„łđŸ„łđŸ„ł it was satisfying and ticked all the cravings I have for pizza. Spicy chicken wings- Oh wow! that sourness and spiciness has a nice kick! Environment:4/5 Waiting: 5/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 34/5 Service: 5/5 What I liked: - service! đŸ‘đŸŒđŸ‘đŸŒđŸ‘đŸŒ What I disliked: - nothing in particular

Amazing pizza and great service... 😉 Provides full loaded pizza in only 10 nzd which was delicious, full of cheese and toppings. I wondered, only in 10 nzd how can someone provide these yummy pizza specially in Queenstown (tourist destination). And pizza is looked more homemade rather than a domino's or pizza hut's one. Stuffs was great. Will 100% be coming back here.

Good food, great service, and a fun vibe. Highly recommend the four-cheese pizza, and the billiards and music selection offer even more entertainment beyond your meal and drinks. The staff here were also extremely personable and fantastic. Strongly recommend.

Great little place. Food and staff were amazing. Definitely would have come back if I stayed longer

Went here as this place was noted as no.1 pizzas on trip advisor. We werent disappointed, the London make great pizzas. Would go back again without hesitation.

The only reason this didnt get a 5 is because of the rude and arrogant tall skinny chef. Asked him one simple question, anyone would have thought I asked him to cut off his leg. However the food was tasty and quick to come out. Our waiter Amnah was pleasant and friendly.

Great place, the place is much bigger than it looks from outside. Great pizza bar. The vegetarian pizza was delicious. Interior was really funky. Would recommend. Had a pool table and looks like it would be a good venue for watching sporting events on tv. Cool place. Good service.

We stumbled upon the London on a weekday evening looking for some takeaway pasta, pizza and other bites and were not disappointed! The pastas we had (chicken carbonara and a veg pesto) were cooked Al dente! We also ordered the Italian job pizza which was really good along some jalapeño poppers and curly fries. The service bro who took our orders was really friendly and we were super surprised that the food was ready for us so quickly in less than 10 mins. All in all a 5/5 takeaway experience.

Great service, great cocktails but ok food. The pizzas don't have a lot of flavour but aren't awful.

I was attracted into this place by the girl outside offering free pizza samples. I needed more than 1 slice it was so good. They offer lunch special from 12-3 for $10 !!! And it’s amazing pizza!! Nice vibe inside with friendly staff and plenty of things going on during the week. Go check this place out, you won’t be disappointed.

Lying hideous in an underground site, This place is one of the best pizza places in Queenstown Try the wide variety of Pizza's in this place, You wouldn't be left disappointed

Great flavoursome pizza! Live sports on the telly too! Always make sure to pop in here when I'm in town. A great range of London beers on tap too!

Too bad we only had to do takeaways, we didn’t have the chance to enjoy this cool place. It has a bar, pool table and cool 80’s vibes (I don’t know if its just me). It also reminded me of a diner back in my hometown. We had the Smokey Joes pizza, it was good and price was reasonable.

Went there on Wednesday before kiwi crawl. Reasonable prices for drinks (beer, 8$ per glass), they always have some specials for each day of the week, pool table, also, great selection of pizzas too, and it takes only 10 min from order to happy tummy. Sea food pizza was great, saved me from hungover morning the very next day. Interesting place with it's own vibe.

P. S. If you are standing in the queue for Ferg burger, consider to get their pizza on the way as a small munch, while waiting.

Nice eatery in a great location, super friendly staff and really good customer service. Only downside was that one of the gluten free pizzas was a bit overly greasy, making the base soggy. Mine was good but the cheese pretty much dominated, making it difficult to taste anything else. However the manager was really nice and took a pizza off the bill. Overall would go back :)

Went in on a Wednesday night after looking around for a decent place to eat at. A staff member was standing outside the restaurant with a margarita pizza for the public to try as well as giving out $5 coupons off your pizza. It was a good way to bring in more people, due to fergburger being next door and popular, the scheme used by the workers at ‘the London’ was quite smart.

We tried a free slice and went in with no second thoughts. We ordered the 3 foot pizza for $55 and chose 3 different flavours. All 3 were amazing and full of flavour. Wait time was about 20 minutes which wasn’t too bad. The ladies working at the time were friendly and helpful when deciding what to order.

The only thing that got to us was that we thought we would get a couple of bux off with the coupon voucher given before we entered, but apparently thats only allowed to be redeemed if you get a whole, normal sized pizza to yourself. I wish this was mentioned on the voucher or we were told earlier as that was kind of why we chose to dine here as well. However, it was also our fault for not asking before ordering about how the coupons worked. Any way, we still didn’t mind, it was quite expensive but the pizza was way to good to care about the price at that point.

Had Olive Garden pasta, very good flavours, nice cheese on top. Big cavernous restaurant below street level, various drinks and alcohol options available.

Staff at the front door advertising “$5 off any pizza” coupons only to find out it was only off there most expensive pizzas. Also a water pitcher was bought to the table that was absolutely filthy at the bottom with green floaters

Pizza was average - ordered wings and they turned up cold and dry we complained and they said they would take off the bill. Replaced with hot fresh wings that were completly blood red raw in the middle. Only good thing I have to say is the ambience was really good and quite a cool little place.

As a second choice of Fergburger, this place gives very good taste of the pizza with the reasonable price. However the staff with blonde long hair dragged down my rate for the restaurant. When we tried to figure out the differences between two kinds of pizzas with same name, she just pointed to the menu saying “it’s written there”, couldn’t spare a second to explain in words. Not to mention us waiting for ages for a glass of hot water after asking nicely for the second time and she told us “the cattle is still boiling.” And we had to ask another staff who brought the water straight after. Well, if the service is a match to the price, I have to say don’t put up the expectation too much:-)

If your mates are queuing up for a ferg, and ur not keen, this next door neighbour is a good place to duck into. Decent pizzas, massive screens (mostly sports channels) and a pool table to while the time away till ur mates remember to collect you.

Ordered their “deep dish” pizza, and from watching a lot of food shows I know that what they serve is nowhere close to the real thing. It was basically a normal pizza with extra sauce and a high crust. I even ordered without chili flakes, and yet my mouth is burning so I can’t properly taste the filling. Overall nice interior but the food, that me and my friend received was definitely not “best pizza in Queenstown”

Amateur business who dares serving "carbonara" with chicken, cream and mushroom for $17.
Amateurs DJs who arrive an hour and a half after they're supposed to start as advertised. But also, forget to turn off their laptop notifications sound, and can play twice in a row the same music ! (like literally, in the row.) But that's only fair, since they're actually getting drunk while they're playing.
I don't know where you guys got your qualifications but maybe you should google how to manage a business or how many hours are the employees supposed to have between two days of work (yeah I doubt that finishing at 5.30am to start again at 12pm is legal). While you're there, maybe take a chance to google "What is a Sicilian Pizza" before lying to your customers and taking their money. That's what I call being a thief. Also, please learn how to cut limes and lemons, because they actually look like a 3yo cut them.
One last thing just for your own knowledge, if you put the Italian flag on the poster for Latino night, People might expect Italians songs, rather than South American.
The pool table is free due to the shocking state of the felt and one usable Cue.

While we were travelling around New Zealand we decided to try the famous Fergburgers however the queue was continuously far too long. Instead we discovered this hidden restaurant next door which proved to be a great alternative. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very welcoming and they had great live music playing. Some great vibes for tourists. Ordered one of the gourmet vegetarian pizzas. The pizza was definitely one of the best veggie pizzas ever tasted!

Went here will family for dinner based on the great reviews here and menu. Service was friendly, attentive and quick. The general atmosphere here was fantastic with good energy despite being below street level. We were however expecting more from the pizzas based on the reviews here. The thin base pizzas bases seemed overly doughy and toppings generally lacked flavour not dissimilar from pre-made supermarket pizzas unfortunately. Curly fries were well done however. Sorry The London we really wanted to like it here but we weren't that fussed with the food given the price tag.

Such a cool idea the decor is awesome but it was just quite dull down there no one was there at 1pm lunch time. The pizza wasn't great just ok and very expensive - $24 for an individual size pizza!
The 2 for 1 deal they advertise isn't all it's cracked up to be - it has the condition of buying two drinks with your meal so it's more expensive than they make it seem.
Because they are next to Fergburger with massive burgers for $11 which taste amazing, they really need to step up the value for money and taste of the pizzas but still a cool experience going downstairs.

Relaxed, warm, cosy, comfortable with the yummiest deep dish and thin crust pizza in the whole city. I'm a big pizza fan and this place nails it.

Brit backpacker staff super friendly, solid pizza with crispy base and tasty toppings and great decor and vibe. Below ground bar and pizza joint with pool tables, booths and high tables. Place has it all and the crowd loves it.

Came in for the 2 for 1 pizza and a place to sit down to eat after a busy morning. The restaurant is themed well but the absence of natural light was strange. The food, apart from the wonderful curly fries, was quite bad. The calamari was rubbery and the waitress tried to fumble her way through explaining the dish to us, ie. how many pieces? does it came with a sauce? She had no idea. The pizzas could have been from the frozen section in the supermarket they were that average.
