Review Fergburger - Queenstown

Ernest Li
The taste of the big burgers was delicious and it had a BBQ aroma. We tried sweet bramby, deluxe, and lamb Fergburger burgers. It would be nicer to have more variety of vegetables in it. The fried skin-on-potatoes were tasty. The staff was very helpful. There was not enough table for a long queue of patrons. It was still crowded at the mid-afternoon of weekday. Cheers! (2023-12)

Fergburger delivers one of the best milkshakes I've had, the burgers I felt were okay. The regular burgers I felt the patties were on the dryer side, additionally I prefer my burgers simpler. But they definitely deliver a luxurious burger with quality ingredients

Had breakfasts in Fergburger twice. Both the ferg deluxe and the pork belly burgers tasted good! The price is reasonable too. The staff was nice as well. They gave us some free French Fries to share.

Ferg is worth the hype and worth the line! The line moves pretty quickly to order and you just have to watch for your number on the screens to pick up. There is not much seating in the store and it is so busy inside. The lake is just a short walk away so it’s a perfect place to enjoy the burger. The deluxe burger was absolutely delicious, the relish was perfection and everything was cooked excellently. Would definitely come back again!

The burgers at this place are absolutely fantastic! The staff members are super friendly and efficient (the queue is long but it goes by quick), making the whole dining experience even more enjoyable. Plus, the prices are very reasonable for such a delicious and filling burger, which is always a bonus. I've been here multiple times, and I've never been disappointed. The location is also great, right in the town center, so it's easy to find. Although it can get busy with a queue, it's definitely worth the wait. If you're visiting Queenstown, this place is a must-visit! You won't regret it.

Super busy, but efficient and yummy burger place. Amazing how many burgers they can produce per minute. Delicate sauces add the extra little touch as well as large buns and juicy meat. Worth taking to water front and watch the sunset.
steph
lived up to the hipe! massive burgers, great sauces and great taste. I got the tropical swine with a gluten free bun, delicious! there's always a line so call in your order instead. although they get through people quick, and have 2 tvs inside and out where your number will pop up when ready. not a ton of seating either so find a park or take one to go

My wife and I ordered cheese and steak burgers from this popular take-away place. Although the burgers were good, I felt that they were a bit overhyped. The buns and cheese were of high quality and fresh, but the taste was a bit bland. Perhaps adding more meat seasoning or aioli/sauces with more kick would have made it better. Staff were friendly but the place is always crowded, and there is minimal seating available. I understand that it's a take-away place, but if they are always that busy, they could manage patrons better.

Mind blown !!!!! How crazy is this place, i get why it’s the best burgers of New Zealand ! even if it’s really busy at any time of the day, the wait was significantly shorter than we thought ! The deer, brie and boysenberry one was so so unique and so tasty! Let’s talk about the chips as well!! My favorite ones right next to Five Guys (and anyone who loves chips knows how incredible they are!) So trust me when I say, there’s as good. The staff is still friendly although very busy, which makes the whole experience even better. Waiting outside on the benches with your number enhances how exciting it is to try those finger licking good burgers ! Please take 20 minutes of your time and make it worth the wait!

It's worth the queue and wait. delicious, juicy, and so good! Had their signature burger and the lamb one. Shakes were great, too. I highly recommend the salted caramel and Bailey's one. Best ever.

This place is a hot spot! Very well known, always a line out the door when we would walk by. They were very busy but got us our food very quick. Be prepared the burger is large and you can share the fries!

Busy all day round, Ferg definitely does the best burgers in the South island. Quite a variety of beef to lamb and chicken burgers, they have excellent pairings such as beef with bacon and breaded chicken and avocado. Tried most items on the menu by now, and it's nice to have a variety to switch things up once in a while Queues tend to be long but they are efficient with the quick ordering service and issuance of queue numbers which you can check on their website instead of standing around to wait Definitely a must visit whenever back in Queenstown Pro tip is to takeaway and enjoy the burgers by the lake, park or pier area a short walk away

The burgers were good and the wait was little. Its a bit messy to eat and you may not get a table. Still, the experience was fun and the burger was good.

Burger taste like the best homemade / grilled burger I've ever had. While my ideal burger is more of a greasy smash burger (not the healthiest by any means) I was incredibly impressed by this being the best burger of its class. Also apparently a popular place in Queenstown and famously known around the world. I'd apparently missed this memo but it was obvious by the line out the door every time we passed. Despite the long lines though it moves extremely quickly and the food is ready just 7-10 minutes after ordering.

Totally recommended and worth the wait. Fergburger does actually live up to the hype and is worthy of its superstar status in Queenstown! We actually went there twice and would happily return again and again because the burgers are truly one of the best (if not the absolute best!) burgers we’ve ever had. Their bun reminds me of a bahn mi baguette kind of texture and taste, and it just complements their succulent patties and tasty sauces so well. I think they do the beef patties best and these should be the first (or only) ones you try if you can. We also tried their pork belly, venison and cod burgers which were great too, but the beef patties were just incredible - even the most basic one without cheese. Yes, be prepared to queue to place your order and also collect your food - it’s crazy at lunch time and in the afternoon. A tip would be to go in the morning as it’s way less crowded. That said, waiting is not so bad because you can pop over to the neighbouring stores for a browse (or even buy dessert or other parties at their sister bakery next door). Going to miss Fergburger a lot and already looking forward to the next opportunity to eat here!

Burgers were great. The chips were lame. There is always a queue, but it moves relatively quickly. We got a table inside so got to watch the people filter through. It's a good place and the burgers were worth queuing up for. I wouldn't bother with the chips next time.

The best burger, hands down i ever tasted. Worth lining up although i was in luck it only took a little under 20 mins to claim my order in the counter. Friendly and warm staff. Your burger being prepared & cooked right before your very eyes. Although the dining space was small with only a few alfresco tables outside. If you ever plan to eat either go there early or order it (via phone) in advance for takeaways. It can get a little crowded. Overall the food experience was superb!

We ordered the ferg with double blue cheese and a ferg with Swiss. Both were so tasty. The buns are nice and toasted so they don’t get soggy. The patty was full of flavour. Only thing holding me back from a 5 was that they didn’t put on double blue cheese so you didn’t get the taste of blue cheese with every bite. Definitely worth a visit though!
Kiki
Chips were fresh and crispy, calamari rings great portion and super tasty and crunchy. Burger was also huge and tasty but felt the fish could have been crispier, as it was quite a soggy batter. Still one of the best burgers I’ve had though!
Eric
People who does not like "burnt flavor". This is not right place to come. I saw the flame coming up from grill and burning the patty and nobody took care of it.
Ram Vinayak
The food was amazing .. one of the best burgers u will have in ur life .. though the que is big if u go at 8 am u will be the first to get served without waiting for 30 mins or go while the shop closes it will be free..
Rex Chen
A very busy and popular burger place, a must visit in Queenstown, offers online ordering so you don't need to wait in the long que, the burgers were delicious and huge portion. Love it
Annie
Had a late night pork belly burger during our stay in Queenstown - amazing! Lives up to its reputation for sure
Kayley_speight
delicious and fresh, well worth the wait. Can’t wait to come back again!

I’ve heard so much about fergburger so it defo had to be on the menu when we visited qtwn! <br/><br/>We both got the Ferg deluxe and were very happy, great patty, great bun, great atmosphere - the relish on the burger was immense!!!
Brad Sherry
The hype is true, great burgers, my Furg Deluxe was great the meat tasted awesome. Great combination of flavours can’t fault the service either. Well done guys.

Finally get to go to this place after so many people have recommended it, managed to go when it was quiet-is. sadly it doesn't get 5 stars from me. Although the burger was huge, it lacked flavour. Also the bottom of the bun was soggy, when I went to pick up my order they said they're waiting for the fries, thought they would've had the fries down before the burger. Overall its ok, for what you pay for the burger, its worth its value. Prefer their bakery instead.

We were told to not miss having fergburgers at any cost. We tried it once and it was soo good. Us being indians and vegetarians, despite of them not understanding our language they knew we wanted a veg burger without egg and they did give us.<br/>It was soo yummy<br/>And the pretzel was so bigg in size. Ive never seen a pretzel so big and tasty

I finally decided to visit this on my last night in Queenstown since there was so much hype and whoa is it worth the time and money! It had a large crowd waiting as usual, we lined up and ordered the Tropical Swine and the steak burger and some fries. THe burgers are HUGE! My partner and I both enjoyed our burgers immensely, as well as the fries. I had the steak burger and still dream about eating it again -- the steak is pre-chopped (not a whole steak stuffed into a burger), was so tender and was easily chewable so I didn't have to eat a whole bit of steak and then have steakless bread.

When I was asking for recommendations on where to eat in Queenstown, New Zeland. Fergburger was on the top of the list, renowned for their prime beef burgers and no trip is complete without having one of these. They also offer the usual chicken, lamb and not so usual exotic meats. Fergburger started as a hole in the wall down an alleyway before making a permeant residence on 42 Shotover Street.
Alice In New Zealand
I had pork belly one and deluxe ferg burger. Also added chips and squid rings. It took 20 mins i total from the queue. Faster than i thought cuz there are long queue. It was great. Friendly staff.
Judy
Judging by the line that went out the door of this place, it had to be a must-try in Queenstown ! I tried the original Ferg burger with added avocado, with a side of onion rings. The burger was physically huge! Definitely good if you’re hungry. The burger itself was good, not the best I’ve had but not the worst either. Sort of middle ground for me. Onion rings on the other hand were great! Crispy, and went well with the sauce it came with.

I now know why the queues are ridiculously long, the burgers are amazing and worth the wait.<br/>Hubby and I visited this place at 8:00 am in the morning to avoid the long queues and to my surprise, it was a tad busy with people enjoying these burgers and it wasn't <br/>even 8:30 am!<br/>My fav burger is The Bullseye - ribeye steak cooked medium and paired with caramelised white onion and cheese of your choice. Hubby ordered the Big Al which is massive - two meat patties, bacon, two eggs and beetroot. Although big, he enjoyed it but was too messy to eat.<br/>A must visit to try out their burgers before you leave Queenstown.
Husna Imran
Hands down, the best burger I’ve tried. There’s a huge line though and the wait is quite dizzying , but the burgers are worth it. Eat them while they’re hot as it tends to bring out the flavour more .
Flippynz
Prepare for the queues! Spent about 30-40 mins from queuing to getting food. <br/><br/>Tried both the cod father and the ferg burger. <br/>I would tend to agree they might be The best burger joint in nz. They can also do the burger bunless but i dont think they advertise the fact.<br/><br/>Best to take out and eat down the road with a good view
The Scarfoodie
Chief wiggum; super crunchy pork belly skin made all the difference to an otherwise soft burger, flavorful pork, good crunchy veg added in, however personally I wouldn’t want a hash brown in my burger but aside from that the pork was generous in portion and it was delicious! 4/5<br/>Bullseye; really juicy ribeye steak, hella big chunk, very generous and well cooked, definitely expensive but if you’re a beef fan it may be worth a try! 4/5 for quality but not sure about its price! <br/>Sides ordered: Hand cut onion rings with aioli; large rings, well crunchy exterior with soft interior, Salt and pepper squid with wasabi mayonnaise; crunchy and chewy, wel paired with sauce. 3.5/5<br/>Overall I’d just op for their famous burgers as an experience, the sides can be skipped, and although expensive, it’s worth it for that queenstown experience!<br/><br/>Hehe round two: definitely phone order and skip the cue!<br/>Little lamby and Sweet bambi this time: both patties done well, succulent and tender, the sweet chutney/relish in each burger paired well and was not overpowering in the slightest, delish burgers and filling. 4/5

Expect to wait in line 20-30mins and then another 15 for the burger unless you go at odd times of the day...... but it really is worth the wit at least once while your in town!
Elena Grant
The food was ok, but overall experience was so so. People were literally fighting for a place to sit. As we didn't want to fight we went to the closest park and ate our humburgers very quickly, because it was raining. For some reason we were not provided with any catlery or serviettes - maybe the were at the restaurant, but staff didn't mention that we have to get them ourselves. Unfortunately, I don't remember the taste of humburger now ( maybe it was exceptional), but only how inconvenient it is to eat a huge humburger standing in the rain...
Rhonni
You just can't go to Queenstown and not visit this place. There is a constant line of people outside this shop. The general wait time is around 20 minutes to get served and another 20 minutes to receive the burger. It's well worth the wait. I ordered the Fergburger with brie cheese with chips and wasabi mayonnaise. One of the best burgers I've ever eaten! It is made with good quality beef and fresh ingredients. And it's massive! It's a must visit.

I went here with my American partner to try ‘the best burgers in the world’. I was expecting to queue for over an hour but we went at around 1pm on a weekday before Christmas and we only had to line up for around 30 mins. I ordered the Southern Swine (bottom in pic) and he ordered the Mr Big Stuff (top). It was really nice and the flavours melded together well. I don’t know if I’d go as far as to say it’s the best in the world, but it definitely hits the spot.
Sanjna
It was tasty and the line was not an issue as we called earlier to make an order and so beat the queue. We also made a big order of 11 burgers and rings and they accommodated us very well, despite being busy. <br/>I found the burger yummy but nothing that was extraordinary which I was confused and mildly disappointed about. It was also a HUGE portion so be sure not to have a big meal prior if you want to finish this. The onion rings were also really delicious and standout.

HIGHLY recommend Fergburger!! I am truly obsessed. It is 100% worth the wait. Been in Queenstown a week now and gone to ferg burger nearly everyday 😂 I recommend the Fergburger with cheese (Brie). Also tried the blue cheese which is great too. The fries are enough to share between 2 people, and the aioli sauce is INSANE. Also tried the wasabi mayonnaise sauce for fries which is also delicious, but prefer the aioli. The line is usually insane for Ferg... we waited an hour today, and it then took 15mins for order to come out, after the wait. But I think It does add to the hype and makes you even more hungry for food :) The cookies and cream thickshake is also SOO YUMMY! Well worth the $9 in my opinion! You must go here if you go to Queenstown!!
Christian Rijanto
The burger is worth the long wait. Will come here every time I’m in town.

👍<br/>- Bambi: unique and not overly sweet<br/>- Ferg Classic: a step up from your usual classic burgers <br/><br/>👎<br/>- fried squid: the wasabi mayo that came with it was abysmal. legitimately tasted like detergent <br/><br/>🤔<br/>Although there are burger places in Melbourne that’s have individually better burgers, the high quality across the board makes any burger on the menu here a safe bet. Maybe try the onion rings instead of the squid. <br/><br/>Came at like 5:30 for a shortish line which quickly became one that started winding down the main road.

Worth the hype and the almost 45 minute wait time - 15 minutes to order and 30 minutes to receive the order. Quantity is huge. Loved the Cock Cajun burger. Chicken in it was absolutely A-mazing!
Birdman
Actually thought it must be an overrated tourist trap with the amount of line they constantly have but it moves quick and the burgers are absolutely amazing. Great bun, juicy and flavoursome patty and the sauce on the burger is out of this world. Well worth a 15 minute wait which I very rarely say.
Vidasok23
I went to Queenstown last month and I had been recommended to try the famous fergburger there. It is really taste awesome. Recommended place.
Littlemiss
Burger was nicely cooked but ultimately just a normal burger. I have had plenty of comparable burgers for a lower cost and with better options for table seating and service.
Jinjing Fang
Absolutely amazing burgers!! We ordered deer meat (which is made sweet) and traditional beef burgers (which tastes delicious as heaven) with a side of fried squid. The buns are so so so yummy, baked right and toasted right. Meat patties, both venison and beef, are juicy and flavored with good ingredients. A must-try in Queenstown and it highlights our trip!!! Will come again given chance ^^
This Girls Gotta Eat
I don’t quite understand why ppl would line up for hours and I think because of all the hype it felt a little overrated for me. <br/><br/>Beef paddies taste like quality meat and the buns are good too. I’m not an aioli lover either and every burger has aioli.
Liksya
A long line attracted me and my friends to come in.<br/>The burgers were okay for me. Not something i would crave for. I had better burgers, i think its kind of overrated.
Ankit Agnish
Didn’t get a queue as suggested by a friend. But still 15-29 mins wait for a burger that’s a bit in the pricey side. But it’s was one delicious burger. All ingredients went together well, a chicken burger done well 👍🏼
Jinky Jimenez Cruz
HANDS DOWN THE BEST MOST AMAZING BURGER I’VE EVER HAD!!!!! 👍🏼👍🏼👌🏼👌🏼🙌🏼 They have the best tasting Onion rings, cooked to perfection perfect with their Wasabi Mayo 😊👌🏼 Will definitely go back to Queenstown just for Ferg Burger 🍔.
Palak
Great place for burgers. Burgers are huge, very soft buns which they bake in their own bakery next door. Very long queue but efficient staff you will not have to wait. If you are a vegetarian they only have two options though. More vegetarian options would be great. Definitely going back. ☺
Udeshi
So much hype around this burger place, & had to make a stop here. We ordered The Fergburger, Southern Swine & Ferg-lafel. Good sized burgers for prices.  Great flavours.  However I didn't enjoy the long waiting time & standing around. Although they do really try to serve as fast as possible.

『 FERGBURGER 』<br/>📍Queenstown, Shotover St<br/><br/>When in Queenstown, one must get a Fergburger<br/><br/>LOVE:<br/>🔸The menu options, there's beef, lamb, chicken, pork, deer, all sorts of meat!<br/>🔸The names are friggin hilarious, had a good giggle over the menu<br/>🔸Juicy meat patties in the Sweet Bambi<br/>🔸Fantastic value as the burgers are quite a decent size<br/><br/>LIKE:<br/>🔸Really fresh fish in the Codfather, great tartare sauce, like a fancy filet O fish<br/><br/>FEEDBACK:<br/>🔹Hard to find a table since it's so busy, prepare to stand!<br/>🔹Try and find a time where it's less busy if you want to wait for less than 20 mins for your burger, this place is REALLY popular, we went around 3

Fergburger is a must when in Queenstown, or so I was told! I wanted to check what the fuss was all about. And OMG 😮These gourmet burgers are insanely delicious. We tried the Sweet Bambi and the Cockadoodle Oink. Totally worth the hype and the never ending queues if you’re thinking of grabbing one for dinner.

A trip to Queenstown isn’t a complete trip with out visiting this institution and for good reason. The best Burgs in town. Massive and full of flavor, made with love and glutinous delight
Jho Meets Food
Food 4/5<br/>Ambiance 3/5<br/>Service 4/5<br/><br/>Go to burger place or must see destination in Queenstown. Portions are large, can be for 2. Thick servings of meat patty. Always busy with long cue no matter what time even in the morning at times. Only close for 3 hours to my knowledge 5am to 8 am. Service is good but still need to wait longer during peak hours. Nicely located in the city centre. Negative of the place is due to business not a lot of dining area especially peak hours. My suggestion is to take your food and eat it around the lake side especially on a sunny day.
Sharon Louie
A go-to every time I’m in Queenstown. I’ve tried two burgers (tropical swine and the fergburger). In my opinion, I prefer the tropical swine because the pineapple adds a bit of sweetness to the burger. The burgers are so juicy every time and cooked to perfection with fresh ingredients. I absolutely love their homemade tomato relish! Worth the wait :)
Roxathina Samupo
Hands down the best burger ever! Ordered the sweet bambi and lamb burgers and both were absolutely delicious! Also their fries are great and the aioli sauce - perfect accompaniment to the burgers. I would go to Queenstown again just to eat burgers from here. I haven’t found something else to match it in Auckland yet and I have been trying since eating here 2 months ago.
Sheryl
I absolutely loved my burger from here! <br/>we stood in line for 30mins and got given cookies while waiting in line, which was a bonus.<br/>I tried the Bombay Chicken. <br/><br/>for more check out @wellymunchers on the gram
FoodieBeast
What can you say. Big burgers that taste amazing. Great onion rings. The fries aren't all that. But I'd still give them a 5 star rating.<br/><br/>Great vibe. Service with a smile even though you have to wait a while but it's all worth it in the end.
Giraffe
The burger is huge and the price is reasonable. The queue for the burger is quite long, make sure you don’t go there too hungry. It would take some time for them to prepare the burger. We had The Fergburger and little lamby, both are yummy!
P
A good burger. I tried the deer burger for something different. It was a massive portion size, though the meat had a few tough bits in it, the variety of other fillings made up for it. Very flavourful, good for a cheap eat. Chips are thin but tasty.<br/>I’m undecided if it is worth the hype.
Fe3eats
We know why there's a line once the store opens til closing time. The burger is legitimately perfect. The meat is juicy and tender. Nothing falls out. Its perfect size. The right amount of sauce and fillings.<br/><br/>Tips: go before the lunch rush. It's a shorter line.
J Ambrosio
Couldn’t wait to see what the buzz was all about. We arrived around 2.30pm and there was still a line out the door. The burgers are huge, juicy and will definitely make you full. A must try in Queenstown!
Mashed_Potato
Queenstown is absolutely buzzing with talk of Fergburger! Hearing about them from Auckland, the long anticipated wait was finally put to the test! They do not disappoint. Incredibly vibe around this outlet, an super wide variety of options to choose from is sure to please everyone and all at fair prices, around $14, when clearly they can charge more:) overall they're delicious burgers lived up to the hype!
EatsByM
It wouldn’t be a trip to Queenstown without trying the famous Fergburger! The hype and expectation for this place is on an all time high, and it definitely did not disappoint! <br/><br/>Tip: if you don’t want to wait in line, call ahead and order on the phone.<br/><br/>However if you’re in it for the full experience, be prepared to wait, cause it seems like it’s busy almost every hour they’re open!
The Miniature Life
Queenstown is known for so many things - the snow, ski season, gorgeous scenery, and of course Fergburger. The burger institution has rapidly become a tourist destination and local icon along the Queenstown Central district. Honestly when I first told people I was heading to Queenstown, the first thing people mentioned was getting a meal at Fergburger - forget the skiing and sights! The burger shop has now expanded into 2 more stores side by side featuring a bakery (FergBaker) and a cafe (Mrs Ferg) serving up gelato. In Queenstown you can expect to line up for over 30 minutes to get your hands on these famous burgers.
Achini Samarasekara
Severely average. Even gave it two chances to give it a fair go but after trying the chief wiggum the original fergburger, unfortunately, was even less impressive.
Shikha T
<br/>Locals claim it’s a crime to leave town without visiting this joint. For something uniquely #NewZealand🇦🇺try the #Codfather_burger & have it with fresh blue cod from the south that added flavour. It is a #Fergburger signature and prime deluxe option🤩..everything was 💯 awesome!!<br/><br/>Best is to order online and collect quickly to avoid a big que😉 and/or takeaway and eat by the lake👍🏻👍🏻<br/>
Vanessa
Not sure what all the hype is about. When i got my chips they were cold and had to get them replaced. Considering the volume of orders im not sure how anything can sit going cold. Burger was nice but nothing to write home about. Sure i would eat there again but i wouldnt queue up in the rain this time!
Nick Dutta
The first thing on my hit list was fergs burger when I reach queenstown and i did it. The burger was super juicy and yummy. There is no way to not compliment this burger as the long queues really proves why there is a queue. A must try one if you visit queenstown the world renowned fergs burger!!!!
Aless
Another must when visiting Queenstown, Fergburger is always busy with a line waiting outside their doors almost every time I walk past. All their burgers are different to each other which makes making a decision to which one to buy slightly difficult but in saying that, any of the burgers are a good choice as from the 3 I’ve previously had, I have been satisfied by every single one. Pro-tip when wanting a burger from Fergburger, either have it for breakfast around 8am to 9am as there is usually less people (aka no line) or order online and go straight to the counter to pick up your order and skip waiting.
StElle
This place is really famous. Crowned as the best burger in the world by CNN, Fergburger really doesn’t disappoint! Juicy, delicious patties I guess no visit to Queenstown is complete without trying some of their burgers!
Everest Parker
During our time in Queenstown there was a constant line and constant smoke of the grill at Fergburger. YouTube, Instagram and internet reviews led us here.<br/>The time from line to being handed the brown paper bag containing our burgers was about 30 minutes. The wait was worthwhile.<br/>We ordered the classic Ferg which was simple and just really really good. The burger tasted fresh and juicy without being complicated. Flame grilled flavour + nz beef + fresh ingredients = burger satisfaction.<br/>Happy memories with our Fergburger experience.
Lucy
Famous burger place in Queenstown. A good range of different burgers with different flavors. <br/><br/>Their burgers are super massive. Tried the Bombay Chicken and Sweet Bambi. Well flavored with very tender meat.<br/><br/>Call in advance before arrival to save you from queuing up.<br/><br/>A bit pricey but worth the value.<br/><br/>Food: 9/10<br/>Service: 9/10<br/>Location: 9/10<br/>Ambience: 9/10<br/>Price $20 per person

What a burger...what a burger...i am from india....almost every1 told me to visit here if coming to queenstown..and i did...super duper hit it is...so juicy...so yummy...falling in love with it...will surely visit before i leave...

First time here and fell in love for everybites!<br/>The burger was so juicy !! Its amanzing. <br/>Their fries were good too. It will be a long queue everytime you visit here but they worked very fast and you will not take a long time to wait.<br/>The burger was very big, if you are indonesian and not really eat much, better you share it with someone else.
Katreena Marie Clavero
A must-try in Queenstown! Fortunately we didn't have to wait for long. Only waited for 15 seconds (yes, SECONDS!) and we were able to order our food. Burger is out of this world and customer service is one of the best I've experienced ever. The entire family had a blast! 🙂
Hungry Teddy (20% Zomato Gold, Use : HUNG2716)
One of the food you gonna need to try is the fergburger. You will see people lining up in front of the restaurant for their burgers. Their burgers were not the most amazing burger, but definitely worth to try.
Vege Eats
I had the tofu burger and although I wanted to love it, I just found it way too sickly and couldn't finish it. I felt really sick afterwards, I think it's just a bit too rich for me. My friends all loved their burgers though!
M.V
Absolutely best burgers out! I wanted to see what the hype was about and they certainly lived up to it! Even though there are so many people the food still comes out pretty quick and is worth the wait. Highly recommended! Great service and best burgers. Will definitely we back!
Evelyn Chen
This is almost the most popular place in Queenstown. No matter what time you get there, a long queue always exists. Fortunately, regardless of the waiting time for ordering food, it takes less than 10min to get your burger, which is quick considering that there are crowds inside. I tried their big al twice and it was so big that it took time to decide where and how to start (eating). The taste was also amazing, I love their patties quite a lot. The onion rings were wonderful too.
Stephanie Magbag
Came here in perfect time only 6 people waiting at the moment hahaha was not planning to eat here but since was too early and not too busy we did try thought it was just a hype , but it’s truely tasty burger every bite is worth it, and the size of burger was amazing
Tejas
It is among the most famous outlet around Queenstown,no matter what time you will go you will sure shot find a big queue and a inline waiting time of a long while for sure, But the efforts are worth it.

The best burgers in Queenstown goes to Fergburger, with a healthy queue outside, it’s the place to go. We were here during the Easter holidays which meant the lines were even longer. You get a menu while you wait in the queue (and Easter egg during Easter!) and the staff update you on how long the wait is which is helpful. We waited about 30mins to order and then it was a 25min wait for the food. <br/><br/>I ordered the Ferg burger - NZ prime pattie with lettuce, tomato, tomato relish and aioli on a seeded bun. The burger patty was juicy and the bun was soft to absorb the patty juices. A pretty darn good burger I must say. <br/><br/>I had a side of fries with aioli, was impressed they were skin on potato fries.

Waited half an hour and another 20 minutes to grab our order. Hyped, and waited with super high expectation. Was the burger good - Yes, it was delicious! Freshly cooked? Yes. The best burger place? In New Zealand, it is. I do recommend a try.<br/><br/>Taste: 4<br/>Aesthetics: 4<br/>Service: 3.5<br/>Ambience: 3

Line up was insane , took 28 mins to get the burger. The burger was juicy and bun was nice but over all was a little tasteless for my liking <br/>Probably not the best burger I have ever had in my life but a long way from the worst give it a try if the line up isn’t past the pizza shop

Bombay Chicken 5+ Cockadoodle Oink 5+ burgers are delicious tried a normal bun and gluten free bun both fantastic. Call and order to skip the line and you won't have to wait that long. Would love to return and try more.

The burgers here taste excellent. You can actually taste all the ingredients in these burgers. The ingredients feel like they have been intentionally and wisely chosen. <br/><br/>The burgers truly taste fresh, homemade (so they don’t taste artificial), and very flavoursome. The meat taste like it’s been cooked with a lot of care. Certainly a memorable meal! Remembering these burgers are aided by the beautiful scenery of Queenstown, charming branding, and long lines :P<br/><br/>Well worth the stop when visiting Queenstown! :)

The long queue there intrigued us,and so we became a part of it as well. We tried 4 burgers, and all of them were delicious!! They were the right size, correctly priced, and had everything working for us! It’s an experience I will say,and just shouldn’t be missed! Well done.

Love love love!!!! Food was so yummy! We were lucky that when we went for a late lunch we were able to fit in between lunch and dinner rush so we didn’t have to wait in the lines that fergburger is also known for!! <br/>

Delicious cheeseburger! Definitely a stop you need to make while in Queenstown.<br/><br/>The lines are quite long all the time so try to go at a non-peak time and/or be ready to wait.
Kelly
Got the opportunity to try the famous ferg burger here during a trip to Queenstown. <br/><br/> The line isn’t too long of a wait, I lined up just outside of ferg bakery and it was only 10 or so minutes to get to the front and order. My burger was ready in 10 minutes. Staff are friendly and attentive, they do advise you how the long the wait will be which. <br/><br/>I ordered the fergburger with Swiss cheese. All ingredients were fresh and patty well seasoned. Buns nicely toasted and patty held its moisture and paired well with condiments. Really enjoyed my burger here. I wouldn’t say it’s to die for but it definitely is one of the better burgers I’ve had in a while. The menu itself caters for all dietary requirements.<br/><br/>Considering the size of the burger it is reasonably priced, if I’m in Queenstown again and craving a burger. . I will be back for more.

A visit to Queenstown in incomplete without visiting Fergburger! Walking around the city, you wanna know the reason behind the never ending queue outside this little joint. Waited for 20 mins and boy it was worth it! I had the falafel burger while husband had the Bombay chicken. Hands down the best burgers of our lives ❤️

On our 3 day trip to Queenstown, we ordered burgers every single day. It was so good and was so worth the wait. I got the two vegetarian options, the falafel one is ok flavourful but nothing amazing 7/10. But, omg, the tofu burger with the delicious sauce was so yummy i could have eaten two burgers it was that good!!!! 10/10. Can't wait to go back to queenstown so i can get my hands on another tofu burger.

Of course we had to try Fergburger while we were visiting Queenstown. One look at the huge line put us off but we called them and placed our order ready to be picked up in 15 mins! Why are people lining up for hours?! <br/>We ordered the Cockadoodle Oink, Mr Big Stuff and fries. <br/>The burgers tasted like massive burger Wisconsin burgers. They were definitely good, a tad soggy but that’s probably because we had to find somewhere to eat them. I don’t know why you’d line up for so long for one! It was so crazy to see such hype around them. <br/>Def. good value for money $14-$16 a burger but they’re huge!
Yilun Su
Nice burger and huge size,we are 6 girls ordered 3burgers,1 beef deluxe ,it was very juicy and taste really good, highly recommand,1 chicken burger with avocado which was average,1 fish burger which was average.
Bella
These aren't the best burgers in the world, and certainly aren't worth an hour-long wait, but they are solidly good and they are huge. If the line isn't insane, it's well worth it. Better yet, call up and place your order over the phone, and you can pick it up from the window when it's ready.
Julia Karström
The best hamburger I have ever had in New Zealand. They are so yummy and almost too big! It is so worth the wait (usually it is a line outside Fergburger). The prices are very budget friendly as well!

A burger place, i cant believe im giving a burger place a 5 star, but i can't fault them on being too busy. I got a steak burger, not sure which one as a family member took me there despite my reluctance to eat at a burger place, so i just ordered a steak burger.<br/><br/>Service 5<br/>Super friendly staff, extremely busy so im surprised they do as well as they do, i would stressed out.<br/><br/>Environment 5<br/>It's a takeout, there are some chairs but they are more for people to wait on while their burgers are being made. The queue was about 40 minutes, 10 to order your meal and 30 to wait for it to be cooked. Usually about 20 people waiting on burgers and 20 waiting to order at any given time.<br/><br/>Flavour 5<br/>Wow, i have never had a more perfectly cooked steak burger, i ordered medium rare and i got exactly that, just amazing. The smell of the burger in the wrapping had me foaming at the mouth and i had only eaten a couple of hours before so not usually hungry yet. I will be ordering 3 next time.<br/><br/>Value for money 5<br/>It's not cheap thats for sure, but i understand why, it's worth every penny.<br/><br/>If i had a choice right now to eat anything from anywhere in the world, this is in my top 5.<br/><br/>If your in Queenstown do yourself a treat and grab a burger.

From 2pm, the line took about half an hour (including the wait for food). Insane - and I can't tell if the food tasted better because of the wait or not.<br/><br/>Ordered:<br/>🍔 Ferg Deluxe: Prime N.Z. beef, streaky bacon, cheddar cheese, sweet dill pickle, tomato, red onion, aioli & tomato relish ($14.90)<br/>🍟 Hand cut onion rings with aioli ($7.50)<br/><br/>Review:<br/>Fun first meal in NZ. According to the cashier, the line never ends and I feel like that is a testament to the great food itself. Staff were incredibly friendly and were clearly capable to handle the masses. Amazing coordination and delivery from them all!<br/><br/>There's something about that burger. Incredibly juicy, where the juices spilled out of the napkin and onto your hands (not great).<br/>However, buns were amazingly toadted, tomatoes were soft and the beef patties had a generous amount of pepper which gave it that smokey flavor and kick.<br/>My mate noticed the BBQ sauce which, may I say, is how BBQ sauce should taste on burgers!<br/><br/>Onion rings were awesome and wasabi mayo gave it a surprisingly good kick without being overwhelming. Extremely well done!<br/><br/>Things that stop it from being a 5/5 (only because I can be picky):<br/>- red onions were scattered on one side of the burger<br/>- plain chips were lacklustre in comparison to the flavorsome burger<br/>- they sell their OWN MERCH which is actually quite a humorous thing but no

The best beef burger you will ever have. At all times there is a long queue. So seating can be a challenge. But the taste is worth all the trouble.

So glad we ticked this one off the Queenstown to do list! We came at 9.30pm and the line was just as long as it had been all day. I was so impressed by how fast the line moved, and the wait time for food after than was only 10 minutes. All in all less than 30 mins for our meals, and well worth it. Way better than burger fuel and not stingy on the fillings. Will definitely return if we’re back in town again!

I have been a regular visitor to Ferg.<br/><br/>However my visit on 11 March 2019 was quite disappointing. The girl on the pass was completely ignorant when I had come to collect my order and I had to wait 10 minutes before I pushed my way through and asked if my order was ready.<br/><br/>The burger tasted good but the service can definitely improve as I don't expect such behaviour from staff after paying $15 for a burger.<br/>

If you have been to Queenstown and you haven’t been to Fergburger then you haven’t lived! This place is epic, the burgers are so tasty and very generously sized. There is a burger to suit everyone. The line looks long but it moves pretty quickly. There is a bit of indoor and outdoor seating but it is very busy so be prepared to eat on the run. Staff have the well oiled machine working overtime and they are super friendly. Make sure you go, you won’t regret it.

We purposely drove back in to Queenstown later in the afternoon so we’d see shorter cues, brilliant idea that was 😂😂. We ended up hungrier and no better place to satisfy that hungry than Ferg! <br/><br/>Two patty with blue cheese burger, squid rings a beer, what is better than that? <br/><br/>Thing is at our age you carry that load for a while though haha! well worth the wait! <br/><br/>
Sweet And Sour Fork
The Ferg Deluxe ($14.9NZD) does everything right. A slightly more indulgent version of the classic Fergburger, the prime NZ beef patty – with cheddar melted over the top – was pink and juicy, the streaky bacon crisp at the edges and oozing fat, and there was just enough crunch in the veggies and sweet tanginess from the pickles and tomato relish to balance out the richness. Sandwiched in a fluffy white bun, this was a messy, two-handed feat of a burger that straddles the line between homely and gourmet remarkably well. There’s nothing ground-breaking about it; it’s just a damned good burger.

Fergburger is one of the must do attractions in Queenstown.<br/>The queue is always huge and be prepared there is always wait no matter what time of the day it is.<br/>I personally waited in the queue for 25mins to place an order and another 20mins to get the burger, but the wait is totally worth it..<br/>Must try..
Trish
Fergburger is usually always packed, but we chose to have burgers for breakfast. So in this instance there was not much of a cue. <br/><br/>The burgers were of a great standard, quality ingredients and the flavours were on point. I loved the chips! So perfectly cooked. <br/><br/>The service staff were not the most polite, so don’t expect the niceties. Service could be improved, to enhance customer experience. <br/>
Ankita Shrivastav
Don't know why everyone recommends it. On a reading day, found a 25 people line for grabbing a bite here. Had 2 different burgers, didn't find it worth a penny. NOT WORTH A PENNY!!

Food : the burger is really good<br/>Price : its normal<br/>Service : its prettt good <br/><br/>Ordered : <br/>2 Ferg Deluxe<br/>1 Cookcadoddle Oink<br/>1 The Morning Glory<br/>1 Chips<br/>1 Onion Rings<br/><br/>I think all 3 of them are really good burgers and the chips are also good, its crispy but not burnt, i can’t decide which burger is my favorite though cause its all good, the place is really crowded and the line was pretty long but it was definitely worth it, I will definitely go back one day and try others

Had the Ferg-lafel burger and thought it was worth all the hype, until I saw the original name of said burger on the take away bag. "BUN LADEN"???!? How in the world did you think this is witty? It's joints like you who continue to perpetuate islamophobic and orientialist rhetoric. For shame.
Mo Sha
Amazing. Have it as many times as possible whilst in Queenstown! Won’t rate the falafel burger, but the OG Ferg is one of the tastiest burgers I’ve had.
Mr4saken
Awesome burger! love it. im just not thrilled about the size of the place/shop. too small and not to mention its crowded all the time, need to improve the layout of the store for better flow of customer. overall, food and service are great! just need to improve the place layout for better flow of customer. (in and out) thanks

We had the Venison Burger along with the fish burger.  Both burgers were of a good size and tasted good, lots of flavor and the buns were fresh.  We waited approx 25 minutes, which we were warned about.  Staff are friendly - given the demand and the ever growing queue this place is high quality and a must when in Queenstown.  Will be back for sure.
BAbyWin
Do I need to speak more about this place? It's like a place you had to check in whenever you come to Queenstown and everyone seems to do that. I noticed they opened up a bakery and an ice cream place right next. Trying to avoid the long queue, me and my best friend came on 10pm thinking that we were smart. To our surprise, the ordering queue was long as usual and big crowd inside out waiting for their Fergs. We waited about 15-20 minutes for our order just like what was printed on our receipt. The burger is definately great but is it really a must-have at Queenstown I'm sure sure about that. But I do want to give a big thumb to their great staff.<br/><br/>Updates: We came back here the next day on 11pm after our Milford Sound. This time we went for the Codfather burger and onion rings. I had to say I really loved the thick  blue cod in tempura batter. Onion rings were fried to perfection and paired well with the aioli. If I am visiting Queenstown again I will definately come back here for the cod fish burger.<br/>

One of the best burgers I’ve had! Quality and juicy meat in every bite. It’s definitely worth the long queue! The fries are to die for and the dips are nice too!
Bobohood528
Always busy busy and busy, always waiting in long queue. The big portion, the juicy filling, and the reasonable price, I believe every traveler will love here.

Tried out the most hyped burger place in NZ, and they were delicious but nothing special. I knew they would some what taste similar to burgerfuel which they did. Got two different burgers on different days, both the bombay chicken and ferg deluxe were just as good. The sauces is what gave flavour to the burgers, even though they weren’t any different, the burger tasted yum only cos of the different sauces/chutneys. The meat was cooked to perfection in both burgers so thats definitely a plus for me. The fries were the best, for $4.50 we got alot of fries which I could barely finish- quite generous with their serving sizes. <br/><br/>We got away with not having to stand in the massive line both times and gave them a call and ordered which was the best thing. Our meal was ready in 15mins whereas standing in the line the wait time gets to usually an hour or more. Totally recommend saving time and giving them a call instead of waiting in the line if your hungry.
Eunifoodie
Warning: I’m not the biggest fan of burger<br/>I found the meat patties quite dry but the combination of the sauces and ingredients used in the burgers we got (fergburger and sweet bambi) were great! Loved the brie in sweet bambi. The burgers are massive so be prepared for a super affordable and fulfilling meal!
Vina
I think this is the busiest place in the city. This burger store is always packed. However, they have such a nice strategy to cope with this. I heard that they won the best burger competition 5 years ago and since then, this place has always been busy. I tried the sweet bamby ($13.90) (the price shown on zomato menu is different, please update it). The burger was, indeed, delicious. The meat was tender and well. I thought it would be better if I ate it while it was still hot (the meat would have been more juicy). I have to admit that they are still able to serve a scrumptious burger despite the fact that this place is always full of visitors. Nice job!

THE BEST BURGERS IN TOWN -Period<br/><br/>The wait, the long queues(be ready to wait for atleast 20 minutes), the price and the hype is worth it.<br/><br/>Juicy, tender and Super yum...Deer (Bamby) and Beef are the best among the best (including chicken and pork belly) .<br/><br/>Plet of options for vegetarians too.<br/><br/>Do we need to say anything more?<br/>
MELB JOURNAL
How can you go past this place without trying it for yourself with lines out the door!? We got a great insiders tip to call in advance and then pick up when ready to avoid waiting in the long lines. I tried to Fergburger and Sweet Bambi which we’re both great. The size is huge. Meat patties where both juice and tender. Generous fillings and sauces. Unfortunately the burgers get a little sloppy towards the end so be ready to get your hands dirty. A pleasant and cheerful cheap eat.
ELE7EN
It is Best burger in town!!! I really like sweet Julie chicken burger it was amazing,so yummy!<br/>When u coming earlier u don’t need wait so long.anyway it really really good, when u got it u will not think u waste time for that.

The wait line wasn’t too bad. We ordered 5 burgers and they all tasted really nice. I had the pork belly and i really love the crispy pork skin, best burger I have ever had. Would definitely bring my friend here next time.
Nadz_berry_crunch
Was excited to try their burger but Fergburger was very average. It was too crowded, noone wore gloves and they keep touching the burger with their hands and one guy even touched it with their t-shirt. The taste was average, not much flavour and They forgot the aioli sauce for the chips.
R & A
**keto friendly**<br/>Simply ask for lettuce wrap and no relish or other sauce that may have excessive carbs. I went for a Fergburger double with blue cheese and the Pork belly one. Very nice!<br/><br/>Tip** phone-in your order and pickup/pay at the window to avoid the long cue!

One place that I must go back to when visiting Queenstown. Absolutely amazing burgers that's made fresh on order. My favorite / recommended burger is Chef Wiggum. Delicious pork belly in burger is just to die for.<br/>Recommend to go earlier on the day as lines can get quite hectic during peak hours.

You can’t go to Queenstown and not eat a Fergburger! It’s iconic. Glad to say the burgers still taste amazing as it’s been 4 years since our last trip :) It’s bitter sweet that you are only in Queenstown but that is what makes these burgers special - you will never tire of them. Called just after landing (the queues flow into the street) and picked up our burgers in 15 minutes. They were still warm and fresh
NW
Such a long wait! But not as good as I expected. Not much difference compared to other ordinary burger store. the taste was alright and the price is fair.

here we are..The almighty of Burger...they called it the most delicious burger in the world. Some people always visit here while they are in queenstown.<br/>First thing first, you have to prepare yourself, because you'll find a long queue while order that. But, don't worry, they serve people quickly.<br/><br/>the burger was so huge (i think that i need more days to eat that till drop). as we know, NZ is well known about their beef. So, You must try any kind of burger with beef ,of course. And i testified that NZ beef was sooooo deliciousssss !!!!
Streaky Eats
What's a visit to Queenstown without trying the almighty Fergburger (or so the internet says)? If you can't find the place, just walk the block until you see a long queue, that's a sign. You'll find that this place has very limited seatings, even the floorspace indoors are dedicated for people standing and waiting for their orders. A few tables outside, few bar seatings, and a row of seats by the wall.<br/><br/>After hearing people rave about their steak burger, I just had to try it. So I ordered The Bulls Eye with fries. Be expected to wait for quite a bit as they are constantly swamped with new tickets coming in their kitchen area. A glimpse into the kitchen and you can see the chaotic scene of the staff pumping out burger after burger, meat was cooked over an open flame grill, buns were directly warmed and toasted over a flat grill.<br/><br/>First look of the burger. Huge in size with a nice thickness to the ribeye steak. After taking the first bite, I can see why people rave about it.<br/><br/>Steak was flavourful, cooked medium, tender, clean bite (no tug of war needed with the steak). The bun was slightly crusty and rustic, not the usual soft brioche, but worked extremely well with the burger. This burger had an exception of needing a buttered bun to make the burger taste good. The sauces on this burger is very well balanced in both quantity and taste. It's not overly saucy to mask the taste of the burger, in fact it complements the burger very well. The aoili and tomato relish doesn't overpower the taste of the steak, wasn't too tart or creamy.<br/><br/>Not forgetting the fries! Yes, it's crunchy and delicious, no fault to the fries.<br/><br/>Overall, definitely one of the best burgers I've had, try it and you'll realize the flavours are very well balanced.

The food matches the hype at this place. Great tasting burgers, and a wide variety to choose from, open 21 hours a day, very reasonable prices = great value for money, and a well deserved reputation! Three of us each loved our burgers, which included Mr Big Stuff, The Codfather, and Sweet Bambi. The shoestring fries and aioli barely made the short drive home. Didn’t realise there is a related bakery and gelato shop right next door, so we’re already making plans to revisit town to indulge ourselves!

Walking around Shotover st for some lunch we came upon this wonderful cafe ..... it was packed to the brim ....took over 20 mins to get a table and another 20 mins to get our Burgers ......was it worth the wait ...YESS !A must place to have lunch if in Queens Town ...really really juicy burgers 👍🏻
Notevenpicky
It’s good but not what others hyped it to be! Of course if you get the chance to try it, do so but if you’re from Melbourne I can almost guarantee you’ve had a as good burger, if not better! The onion rings I had that day was not the best, it just tasted like batter and was very dry.

A must-try burger joint in Queenstown. People raved about the Fergburger burgers therefore we gave it a go and joined the craze. True enough based on the word of mouth, the burgers were great, the patty was nicely done and tasty. The chips and the crumbed calamari were nice and crunchy too. Be prepared with the long queue<br/>with an average wait of 20-25 minutes once your order was placed. Great service and staff.
Peter Hong
This burger joint was good eating, and the location is optimal for tourists. But it's overrated. Burger was good but wasn't THAT good. The deco was nice.

Awesome burgers always so busy and pumping . the wait wasn't that long the que was out the door but it still only took 15 minutes. Very awesome and tasty burgers
Ajay Shah
One of the best one I had today 😀. A long line to get that burger but worth it. Few option for vegetarians but that falafal burger is best one I have from any place. Will back and try tofu one.
Food?
Definitely a place you shouldn't miss whilst down in Queenstown. Service was luckily fast and food was amazing. We ordered 2 big Al's and the fergburger. Highlight is definitely the juicy beef patty.

Had the best burger in Newzealand 😍<br/>Worth waiting the que<br/>Had to wait around 20 mins but that dsnt matter when it comes to the taste part😍<br/>Ordered BULLSEYE so tasty no words to describe them they are the best😍<br/>Being a tourist from dubai to newzealand enjoyed to the best<br/>Queenstown ferge burgers must be visted 😍

Don't get me wrong, the food at Fergburger is amazing. They have variety of burgers available and not expensive at all.<br/>Its a very famous place and hence attracts a lot of crowd. People line up to eat in/takeaway from here. But the staff isn't the warmest you will find around (will take one star away for this). And that might be because the place is so busy all the time.<br/>Anyway, I tried Bombay Chicken and it was spot on. Wanted to add a beer to it but was told that since the tap was being serviced and will take 5 mins so i could place my order then. Dont know why she didn't just take my order and brought it to my table after (like they did for the others).<br/>Will take one more star away for the lack of ambience.<br/>Again, the food was great. It was just that the experience as a whole didnt live up to my expectations.

I’m not a fan of burgers, but Fergburger made me change my mind. One of the best burgers that i’ve ever eaten. I understood for long queue in the front, highly recommended!!!
Tom Luke
Definitely worth the wait!! I've been to queenstown twice and unfortunately the first time I came the line was always too long to wait(even at 9pm!) So I decided to skip it. This time we were lucky and the overall wait was only 20 minutes or so (10 minutes in line and 10 minutes after ordering) and was totally worth it!! I ordered the Chief wiggum and the pork was absolutely to die for! An absolutely amazing burger and made even better when paired with fries (or onion rings). I only wish I was in queenstown longer in order to try more if their menu. A truly amazing place that is well deserved of all the hype they receive.

Update on 26 August 2018 (Dinner) :<br/><br/>Couldn't believe that we came back to this place for dinner again.<br/><br/>We wanted to dine at Flame Bar & Grill, however, it was full house as we didn't make any prior reservation. So, we decided to come back to Fergburger for our dinner again ?. We made a reservation for dinner tomorrow with Flame Bar & Grill.<br/><br/>We had cockadoodle oink burger and godfather burger, fries with sweet chilli, and homemade fried onion rings with aioli. As expected, they were all super delicious.<br/><br/>Update on 26 August 2018 (Lunch):<br/><br/>We are now in Queenstown for a short holiday trip.<br/><br/>After touching down at Queenstown Airport and getting our car, we immediately headed straight to this place for our favourite Ferg burgers.<br/><br/>This time we ordered ferg deluxe burger, southern swine burger, and homemade fried onion rings. They all tasted as fantastic as usual. Never failed us!<br/><br/>Although there was a long queue, we didn't have to wait for too long, all in, from queuing, ordering right up to receiving our foods, it took about 25 minutes only. Their customer service was as excellent as before. Big thumbs up for the team!<br/><br/>Food & Beverage : 9/10<br/>Service : 8/10<br/>Price : 6/10<br/>Ambience : 6/10<br/><br/>My previous comments:<br/><br/>Whenever we go to Queenstown, we will always visit this place for their amazingly yummy burgers. This place is forever full of people with unbelievable long queues, days and nights.<br/><br/>Thus far, we have tried several different types of their burgers, such as ferg deluxe burger (prime NZ beef, streaky bacon, Cheddar cheese, sweet dill pickle, lettuce, tomato, red onion, aioli, tomato relish), southern swine burger (prime NZ beef, streaky bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato, red onion, aioli, tomato relish), cockadoodle oink burger (butterflied and crumbed chicken breast, streaky bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato, red onion, aioli, tomato relish), crumbed calamari with Ferg's wasabi mayo, homemade onion rings with aioli, fries with sweet chilli, etc.<br/><br/>These assorted burgers were all sinfully awesome. The sizes were all bigger than other brands of burgers in the market. Their burgers were so flavoursome and by just looking at the burgers, you would have already started drooling. The fried onion rings were pretty good too.<br/><br/>The fried calamari were not as good though, it didn't look appealing as they looked as if they were overly fried. The texture was soft and did not taste as fresh. We would give this crumbed calamari a miss for our next visit onwards.<br/><br/>Despite the long queue and the huge crowds, the queue moved very fast. Besides, their staff were all very friendly, organised and efficient.<br/><br/>The setback is that the seatings are very limited, you basically just have to takeaway the foods and eat them elsewhere, unless you are very lucky to get a seat there. Nevertheless, their burgers are still unquestionably a must eat whenever you are in Queenstown and be prepared to queue, and spare a bit of time to wait for your turn for placing your order and subsequently for receiving the foods ordered. Worth the wait and you won't regret waiting!<br/><br/>One of the best burgers in town!<br/><br/>Food & Beverage : 9/10<br/>Service : 8/10<br/>Price : 6/10<br/>Ambience : 6/10<br/>

One of the best burgers I've had in my life! The flavours and freshness of the Ingredients is immaculate. To top it all, they have a bakery and gelato adjoining. The wait is long as it's a popular place so I would recommend ordering a take-away over the phone.<br/><br/>Must try- Fergburger with Cheese and Bombay chicken.

Awesome food and service. Highly recommended. Only tried the Ferg Burger and if that burger was good, can’t imagine how good there other burgers would be.

Wow what a burger. Queue was out the door but well worth it. Very reasonable prices. Got 2 burgers, 1 chips and 2 drinks for $38. It’s definitely an attraction in Queenstown and I advise everyone to try probably the best burger in the world

4/5 Taste<br/>4/5 Display <br/>4.5/5 Quantity <br/>3/5 Customer Service <br/><br/>World Famous Ferburger<br/><br/>I’d say this burger place is little over rated now as there are many burger places open like this all over New Zealand. <br/>Still attracts alot of tourists and locals with their burgers tho. <br/>After a long wait, trying their burger out, I’d say they kind of taste like cleaner, healthier burgerfuel.<br/>

Came from Brisbane and thought I want to try New Zealand local food but when I searched for food in Queenstown they recommended me to visit this place and I was not disappointed at all. I actually came back the next day to eat this burger and this is the best burgers I have ever had in my life! My favorite is the crispy pork belly burger. The bun texture was just right, pork belly cooked perfectly and it came with hash brown inside! Fantastic. Everything just cooked perfectly. And their aioli was tasty. The place is fairly small and packed because it’s really crowded so make sure you have enough time to queue for this burger before your trip!

Abit Over rated for what it is - it is still a delicious burger that has a good size to it. Not a burger that had made my mouth water though.

Hands down the best burgers I’ve had in my life.<br/>If you’re in Q Town, don’t miss this place.<br/>The first thing I did when I came to Q Town was to go here. Had the Ferg Double, was full until dinner.<br/>Luckily, we placed our order over the phone and picked up after 45 min. But good luck to you, if you are in line. <br/>Definitely recommend this place. 5/5

Best burgers in town<br/>Need improvement on seating area especially during winter season, queue get longer and temperatures gets lower with kids becoming very impatient

Believe the hype. Amazing burgers pieced together lovingly despite how busy it always is. Chief wiggum has a good amount of pork belly with a bit of delicious crackling thrown in there. The bacon and beef burger is great too. Staff were warm and friendly.

Best burgers I’ve ever had! <br/>We had to wait for our burgers for around 30 minutes at 9pm, but definitely worth the wait. <br/>Must tries are the Onion rings, Sweet Bambi, Cockadoodle Oink and Southern Swine!

Me and my husband are vegans. So we tried the Bun Laden and Holier than thou. Had to substitute aioli, yoghurt and coriander/satay sauce with extra avo and mango chutney (recommended by staff). Delish! Worth the wait, fresh buns, quality ingredients. Staff knowledgeable and efficient, I waited approximately 15-20 in line and 10-15 for food. Well done guys! I would’ve given 5 stars, if it wasn’t for the patties. The falafels were flattened balls and the tofu in 3 rectangles. So they fall out and fit awkwardly in the burger.
Bayu Sharin
Best burger in Q town! Thank god they can do phone order now so that you dont have to wait in that horrendously long line just to get that burger. My new love now is Bun Laden. I know its a veggie burger, but its worth it. Also try the lamb burger and the bambi, they’re delicious
The Poor Foodie
Long queue but worth the wait. 10 mins ish in queue and 15 mins for the wait so not too bad. Staff were working like robots in the kitchen so shout-out to them all. <br/>I ordered sweet bambi and it had boysenberry jam, Brie cheese and they were perfect match:) venison was cooked to the lovely pink colour and tasted like really nice beef and it was really juicy. Price is not high but the burger was huge! Bless them!
Trish
Wow, well worth the trip and then the wait!! Had the FERG deluxe. The others had the chief wiggun burgers. They were awesome. I made the mistake of ordering fries and onion rings, big error!! Couldn’t finish it all. Everything was so fresh and tasty, they need to clone this place. Definitely will come back.
Foodie123
A very nice burger place. Fast service despite long lines. Great range of burgers to choose from. Had the sweet bambi. 4/5 because I still think Velvet Burger is better.

Hubby loved the burgers, I wasn’t crash hot on them.<br/>The wait wasn’t that bad. 20 minutes wait to order then another 20 minutes wait for cooking.

You really can't come to Queenstown and not visit Ferg's it has in its own right become an institution. So we waited till the last day of our trip and we had it for breakfast as soon as they opened at 8am.<br/><br/>May not be every ones ideal breakfast but we loved it. I'm not going so far as to say it's the best burger I have ever had but it was very good. Had a Fergburger, double patty with Brie.<br/><br/>When you visit Queenstown have a Fergburger and decide for yourself.<br/><br/>Food: 88%<br/>Ambience: 75%<br/>Service: 70%<br/>Coffee: N/A

Famous burger in queenstown. I try the mr big stuff and sweet Bambi. They both so good and tasty. The portion is generous and so big. Can’t finish it by myself

Its is great choice for traveller, always pumping, always queue up<br/>Massive burger at a very reasonale price<br/>Go for the BigAl if you are starving, but one of the Ferg original one is more than enough to bring you down to earth after a long day skiing<br/>

What else can you say about this place! Perfect burgers all around the world. Yes, you heard it right, all around the world. Was in Queenstown for less than a day and I’m not sure if anything was left out from the menu. From the sides to the burgers i had it all. If you’ve no other purpose in town well make this tour prime target and do pay a visit. You’ll understand what I’m talking about. Long queues, people from around the globe. Personally, I liked the Bombay Chicken the best, heads up it has the Mango Chutney in it if you’re not a fan. Try as many as you can. :)
Sime Cajot
The queue was crazy! I mean.. just for a burger?! But out of curiosity my partner and I joined the pack of burger-crazy people. I wasn’t disappointed though. I’m not a big fan of burgers but I was a happy kid! The only thing I don’t like was that it was too big for my appetite.. my partner had to finished it for me. Will def be back!
Sherry Oh
So get ready for some blasphemy: I didn’t like it. I guess it just didn’t appeal to my palate. I found it too dry, too big and there was nothing special to hook me. But hey, the queues go round the block daily, so don’t take my word for it. Go and try one for yourself. I gave it a 2 because of the quality ingredients and prompt polite service.
ChefZ
Nothing great as heard, just overhyped. Just simple big sized burgers but good value for money. Definitely not worth the long queue. Don’t be sad if you see it packed instead, plan coming back when it’s not, usually the morning-noon transition.
Darren Big Belly
My pic says it all.<br/>I mean. The burger was the size of my head. It was delicious and I couldn’t finish it. I can’t understand all the fuss about it. It’s a good burger, but there is nothing special about it. I went in on a Friday, just before lunch time and there was no lineup. Got my order in about 10min, which was great! The portion size is huge for the price paid. It’s a good burger, but, unfortunately not the best I’ve tried (maybe, my expectations were too high?!).
Hannah Kraakman
Good service, looked busy but apparently it was quiet! Burgers were ok, I had the deer burger with a boysenberry chutney. I think everyone raves about it so much my expectations were higher. Bf also thought it was super average and he got the original beef fergburger
Lole Lole Lole
I finally gave in and lined up since there were only about 6-7 people in queue (and that's rare). 15 mins later, they took my order. Another 30mins, and i got my Ferg Deluxe and onion rings.<br/>There was nothing special about the burger. Tasty? Hmm, no. It was below average. The onion rings were absolutely terrible. No flavour whatsoever.<br/>So 45 mins to get a bad meal is not something I'd recommend.

Ambience : The most crowded place in Queenstown because everyone wants a ferg.<br/><br/>Food : We are vegetarians and we had the Bun Laden and Holier than thou. Both were amazinggg but I personally liked Holier than thou a tad bit more. <br/><br/>A tip : You can call them up and place your order so they have it ready for pick up in 15 mins. You can skip the line. <br/><br/>If you are in Queenstown you cannot miss this place.<br/><br/>
Natasha Sh
Absolutely disappointed! Heard a lot of "amazing" feedbacks and decided to try and as a result they mixed my order and gave me completely different burger from what I wanted and ordered. Even that I pointed in a menu exactly which burger I want, the girl that was accepting my order got it wrong.... so I've got a fish burger instead of chicken....so completely upset and disappointed.
Ponkychick23
Best fricken burgers EVER. Worth the long wait. Offers large variety of products including a joint bakery and icecream store. Queenstown=Fergburger
Dhairya Sethi
this place is packed always ... I mean always, the que is long enough to make you hungry even if you're not. the menu is good and extensive and they have the best burgers in town. don't just go with what I say when in Queenstown try it for yourself and see the quality is uncompromised.
Nakul Dalwala
I don't have to say anything about this place, when you are in Queenstown just ask for good food they will tell you Fergburger is the place for you😎no matter what time you go there will be a wait of at least 20min but the wait is worth. I was there around 9am and you can see in the picture people already waiting to order burger for breakfast 😅 best what you can get in New Zealand.

The hype is not real!!! I have no issues with the long line, in fact I didn't care at all because we expected it. What I didn't expect was how basic everything tasted.<br/><br/>After watching a bunch of youTube vids and hearing songs of praise, we were pumped for it. But as I ate through my watermelon sized burger, I thought to myself, maybe it'll get better. Each bite had me thinking, "just push through it, even if its tough, there's a good side to all things."<br/><br/>Alas, like a loveless relationship you cling on to because you're too scared to tell yourself that each decision you've done was dead wrong, it just sucked.<br/><br/>2/5 would NOT eat here again<br/>#BADONYAM8<br/><br/>p.s.<br/>A good side did come out of this. Featured in best burgers list on LonelyPlanet.<br/><br/>We were attracted by the long queue and had to try!<br/><br/>No doubt the burgers were pretty good but obviously nothing exceptional! But I am sure everyone will try after looking at the queue. <br/>I must also add that despite the queue, they have managed it pretty well. Menus are given in the queue itself with exact info on the waiting time. So, you don't have to keep waiting after the order. You can come and pick up the order later. And if you have internet, you can even check your order status online.
HobbityElf
I was sooooo reluctant to try this but as it was my 4th trip to Queenstown I gave in to the pressure. I am not a burger/fast food eater, haven't had McDonalds in the last 15 years and love fresh, healthy food.<br/>I was surprised. I had the lamb burger and it was really nice. Would I go again? Probably not but only because there is so much on offer in the vicinity but it was a surprisingly good burger with great flavour and if you like burgers it is definitely worth waiting in the queue.

One of the have to visit place when ever I am down. And I thought I would never write review for places like this. <br/>But now about 7-8 years after I first tried it I still believe it’s prob my fav burger joint in nz! <br/>The reason I like to address this place now is the fact that they are so packed the whole day and sometimes I wonder if it’s actually worth the wait. And the fact they are so busy all the time, you would wonder if they will just slack off and make half ass burgers??<br/>The answer is NO! It’s still the amazingly tasting burger I had from back then till now! Not even running on nostalgia memory as you don’t need to! <br/>So line up and wait for the best burger u can get in nz! You won’t be disappointed ! <br/><br/>Quick tip: phone order after u get of the plane, and after u pick up ur rental car and drive to town it will be ready for u! <br/>
Suzie Lee
Worth the wait!<br/><br/>We were initially discouraged by the long queue, but then decided to wait as the burgers looked really good. We weren't disappointed - it was one of the best burgers we'd ever had. The patty was juicy and chargrilled to perfection - and it was very reasonably priced. No wonder it's a Queenstown institution. If you can't bear the wait - phone ahead to place your order!

After much hype, we finally stood in the line for the burger everyone had been talking about. Approx 15 minutes of waiting and 15 minutes to collect the food, Finally came the burgers with homemade onion rings and aioli. Burgers were Bun Laden, which had falafel patties, lemon yogurt, lettuce, red onion, chipotle, avocado and tomato and Holier Than Thou which had fried tofu, coconut and coriander sauce, satay, aioli. Bun Laden was more like a fusion of falafel wrap or pita pocket than burger. The combination of falafel in bun is a disaster. Even the sauces don't save this burger. The transition of flavours just doesn't come out. The burger is overstuffed and falafel patties are dry inspite of sauces in it. This is totally avoidable.<br/>Holier Than Thou surprisingly was juicy burger, perfect crunch in tempured tofu and coriander sauce complemented very well. Though there was neither a taste of coconut nor tinge of it. Still it was well done.<br/>Home made onion rings were the best thing that was ordered. Perfectly fried, crunchy and served with huge dip of aioli. Aioli seems to be a common addition in the menu but with onion rings it just blended well.<br/>For vegetarians these 2 options are considerable but there is nothing extraordinary about the burgers. They have very well marketed themselves and it is commendable.

Tried #sweet bambi# burger made from native fiordland deer amidst many expectations because of the hype created over the social media for this food joint.<br/><br/>Burger was awesome with respect to look and quantity but me and my partner didn’t enjoy the meat so much for some unknown reason😊

The que was so long when we went and I thought it wouldn't be as good as the hype...was so wrong, had the sweet Julie burger and my boyfriend had big al. Both were so flavoursome and such good value for money!

Gotta tell ya If you ever have a chance visiting Queenstown highly recommended for your first stop at this place! I had the best of the best Burger in Town just love it!! The only things that crap about it just always busy all the time you might be waiting in the line at least 45mins. Great staff and seriously expand the shop please overall a BIG 5 STARS!!!!! 🤩👍🏻

Best burger I have ever had. So simple, yet packed with so much flavour. Will be dreaming about these burgers until I come back to Queenstown for another.

Came to Queenstown for a holiday last September. Recommended by everyone who’s been to Queenstown to try the burgers here. We did a take away. Ordered the Codfather and the Big Al which was recommended by our Glenorchy tour guide. <br/>As this place is popular for tourists, be prepared to wait in line. We stood in line for 25 minutes to place our orders and another 45 minutes wait for the food. Besides the crowded atmosphere, the staffs were helpful and friendly. The burger patty is so juicy, tender and full of flavor. The portion is huge too. <br/>Overall it was a great experience. A must-do if you’re in Queenstown!
Daddyboy
The burgers are very good, I tried the Fergburger Deluxe, which is a large bun and generously sized delicious meat patty, a sweet tasty tomato relish, bacon, cheese, lettuce, onion and pickle. I’ve had better including Huxtabuger and New York Minute In Melbourne. Had to try it but not worth the 25 minute queue to order then 15 minute wait to cook. Also ordered chips which were average at best, and onion rings which were the worst I can remember eating and most of them ended up in the bin. Apologies to the bin.

I decided to try the famous Queenstown Fergburger due to the hype. The wait up for these burgers were approximately 40 minutes and I came during the afternoon. Since I was eatting vegan that day, I had ordered the Holier than Thou with Sweet chilli sauce instead. When I finally got my hands on the burger, I found that it was a generous size. The ingredients were also fresh and fulfilling. The side of fries were well-cooked and good portion, but not outstanding. Personally, I didn't enjoy my burger as much as I expected. I would loke to try the 'Ferg Burger' next time.

Food: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟<br/>These burgers were worth the wait in line. Burgerwise we ordered the Fergburger and the Fergburger Deluxe with an extra chicken patty and were very impressed with the quailty of meat sandwiched between the in-house made buns. A warning that portion sizes are very big which was a definite plus for us. We also ordered the fries and crumbed calamari with wasabi mayo sauce. These were also good. We are definitely going to go back.<br/><br/>Service: 🌟🌟🌟🌟.5<br/>After walking past a few times we finally decided to join the long line outside Fergburger. There was a 15 wait in line and another 15-20 minutes before our meals came out which was understandable because the place was very busy. <br/><br/>Price: 🌟🌟🌟🌟<br/>Reasonably well priced for the quality the burgers. <br/>
Wendy
Came at a busy 6pm with the usual line of people waiting to order, but that line moves fast! <br/><br/>After ordering, take a seat while you wait. The time zips away (supposed to be* 10-15 min for us) as you absorb the constant chattery hubbub. <br/><br/>*Why 'supposed to be'? Unfortunately, our order was given to the wrong person - but we got great service: our server apologised and offered drinks or fries on the house while we waited for our order to be re-made. We chose the fries, but later she returned with fizzy drinks as well (without us asking for them!), which we were grateful for in the suffocating summer heat.<br/><br/>On to the burger.<br/><br/>My Fergburger with cheddar cheese - a hulking burger of hearty chunky seasoned beef, with complementary sweet tomato relish and crunchy onion, rounded up with aioli and other fresh fillings. The burger was so large that I was full halfway through eating it! My only criticism would be the thin melted sliver of cheddar didn't seem to add much to the flavour (try another cheese?). <br/><br/>Overall, a filling experience of a burger worth its price (find the current menu on Google, not Zomato), with cheerful service.<br/>
Karina0017
Wasn’t worth the hype. An extremely average burger. Could of got better fries at McDonald’s. Don’t think it’s worth waiting 15-20 minutes in line and then another 10-15 minutes.

Visit anytime there is extremely lonnnng que, be it morning, daytime or at night. The queues scared us as we didn’t want to waste time & also stand for so long especially in hot weather. <br/>But we were tempted by their menu & name so we ended up going there. <br/>But guys tell you something it is worth the wait.<br/>Had Chief wiggum & sweet bambi<br/>Very filling, high quality, fresh, nice sauces. Different from other places. Worth the money as well.<br/>Absolutely loved it. <br/>Highly recommendable<br/>

Very good service and great delicious food served to us but very long queue to wait , there are not only burgers there are also chips fried onion rings and more

With a line out the door and "fluffers" employed to look after those at the back of the hour-long queue, it had to be good, right? Yeah, nah. It was basically a gourmet version of the Whopper from Hungy Jacks/Burger King. I had the Fergburger Deluxe and it was pretty much a Whopper with Cheese (and added bacon). Much better quality ingredients, but a soggy bun and a long way from what I had expected, given the hype. Lining up for a burger at Fergburger is apparently a "must-do" in Queenstown. It's just good marketing folks. The emperor has no clothes.

Burger is amazing ...We ordered for Holier Than Thau (Tofu Burger ) and Onion rings ...Both were out of the world ...Ferg burger is a must visit in queenstown Newzealand...<br/>

I think it’s worth the wait! They have a large variety of burgers on offer and plenty of nice sides and sauces to please them all. My burger was fresh, delicious and super filling. I like that the chips still have their skins semi on. Not much space to dine in but takeaway is great as they package it up well and comes with a nice carry bag too.

The most awesome burger 🍔 I’ve eaten across the globe 🌏... 35 minutes queue to order and 45 mins to get your order was well worth it... no wonder the serpentine queue to eat this burger! Keep it up Fergburger! Since 2000 @ Queenstown.

Great burger, freshly made has generated a lot of hype by the ques outside. Apparently they are the best burgers in Queenstown NZ. Should try this place if you are visiting here. We waited in line for 1hr and picked up our orders another 20min later.<br/><br/><br/>

Just yum, yum and yum🤪 Even my wife who dislikes burger enjoyed it🍔. It’s our third time at the Ferg and each time we had the explosion of juicy burger in our mouth!

Cant beat this restaurant , all day long they bave a line up . Minimum wait time is 20 minutes . <br/>Ordered the only 2 kinds of vegetarian burgers , loved the fried tofu one than the other falafel one . <br/><br/>Its a must try place !!

FergBurger is great, very tasty and wide range of options. <br/><br/>Would I go there again? No.<br/>Line is too big and wait is too long. Staff are nice and friendly but I would not want to wait that long to get a burger.<br/><br/>

To be upfront and honest with you - IT'S WORTH THE WAIT!<br/><br/>Have heard of Fergburger for years now, and finally I have had the chance to try. We had the Delux beef and Bullseye!<br/><br/>Oh.... the rib eye steak was cooked to perfection, and went beautifully with the caramelised onions, cheese, tomato relish, lettuce, tomato and aioli. Yum! Yum! 🍔👍<br/><br/>Their skinny fries were super duper yum too. 🍟👍<br/><br/>P/S: Kudos to the amazing team for needing to keep up with the ongoing orders throughout the day; day after day. Extremely efficient!<br/><br/>I highly recommend Fergburger.<br/><br/>(Tummy growls just by writing this review)

Go for the hype ... the burgers were good but honestly nothing outstanding as I had expected due to the “ hype “ around Fergburger.<br/>Staff friendly and helpful, service pretty quick considering how busy they were when we visited.<br/>I think you should go for the experience... and no matter what anyone says ... you know you will go !<br/><br/>So get over there!<br/>Would I go again ?<br/>Perhaps if really hungry and no lines at Fergburger.

Good burger - nice bun, good patty, fresh salad, great aioli. But really? A queue that long, and all the hype? I don't understand it. It's good but I would not queue for it.

Heard about this place for so long ! Visited Queenstown and had to tried it. Except a queue it is always busy but worth it. Burger fries and aioli is wicked !!!

Visiting for the weekend Ferg burger was the first eatery on our list. With so much hype about the place we had high expectations. As we approached the eatery we spotted the crowds out the door onto the footpath. As we joined the queue we were given a menu and advised there was a 30min wait. I’ll tell you now, as we didn’t know - you can order online! Definitely worth doing if you don’t have time to hang around. Their menu is the best I’ve seen for burgers – there’s something for everyone. I ordered the Cockadoodle oink burger and my partner ordered the Holier Than Thou with a side of fries. The burgers are massive and not badly priced. Although nothing really stood out, they were homemade burgers done well! Bacon and chicken is always a winning combo in my eyes. The Holier Than Thou burger was a great vegetarian option. The fries were a bit of a letdown though, not sure if they had been sitting there for a while but they were a little soggy. The service was great, their order system they have works well and all the staff were really friendly. Worth the trip for sure but order online to jump the queue.
Danelle Lim Yun
Not the most amazing burger ever. I feel like it's been overhyped. The burger was decent and value for money in terms of size, but it was a tad dry. I wouldn't queue for this burger.
Fatcat
Had the fergburger with cheddar, it was gooooooood. Friend had the Chief Wiggum which was also deliciously porky. We were recommended Fergburger for the quintessential Queenstown experience and do not regret it. Lines look longer than the wait.

Finally we reach the Fergburger. The famous burger in Queenstown with long queue. Be prepared to wait 1 hour during peak hours. <br/>The beef patty is cooked medium rare and comes out very juicy and it has a strong taste of blackpepper. The buns is also sooo delicious...crispy outside soft inside. <br/>We tried the pork belly burger as well. Some part of the pork belly skin is a bit tough and chewy. Still opt for the beef burger.<br/>.<br/>Food : 4.5/5<br/>Service : 3/5<br/>Price : $$<br/>Place : 3/5

Wow first exp with fergburger...being veg is really hard at times but ferg made it damm tasty...I had tofu and falafal burger n taste is superb yummy<br/>I stay there for 2 days and brekfast is just ferg..the service and management is too good.<br/>

Super good burger- ordered the fernburger with cheese it was awesome a must try for tourist and worth the wait in line and the money - also one of the favorite and a must try is the wiggum burger -
Leanne.chou
Codfather-crunchy batter tender fish, the sauce is great as well! Yummm!! The wait is around 30min at even 9pm..better order first before you walk around the area!
Mashedpotato
Good, but not great burger. The burgers are large and very good value for money. Pickles or cheese are not standard and need to be added on the standard burger. The cheese slice is too small and too thin for the large patty, so it melts into nothing and doesn’t add much taste or look to the burger 🍔 . The mayo on the lettuce makes the burger moist. The worst part is the bun. The bottom was rock hard. I like the sugar buns so this was a huge fail for me. Service was excellent with a staff member in the queue explaining wait times.
Ngynt
Theres always a long queue here so we visited at 12AM and even then there was people waiting in line. Burger here is phenomenal, the patty is well seasoned with all the condiment and sauces combined. I can see what the hype is all about. A must visit if you're in Queenstown
Deepinder Singh
Best burger ever eaten <br/>Juicy chicken breast with taste of bombay <br/>Loved it <br/>Worth a visit

There was long line when we got there around 10pm! They look like open for breakfast as well. I will definitely try out. <br/>I ordered Tropical Swine and my hubs had Mr big stuff and chips.<br/>Both were delicious. Specially liked bread was crunchy outside but still doughy. Chips was overly salty and we asked staff to change it. She kindly gave us new chips with less salt. <br/>In general when restaurants get busy, their service can be rough but this restaurant has always one staff taking care of customers and cleaning up the floor which I was amazed.<br/><br/>I will definitely come back :)<br/>

The reputation of Fergburger is the stuff of legends. This is a place I’d heard about initially 8 years ago after some friends did a boys trip to Queenstown and raved about this place. Then I heard about it again, and again, and again from different sources. My expectations were so high for Fergburger that the week before I went I had a dream about it. I dreamt that it fell far below my lofty ideals and that it was a burger that fell flat and I had a little go at the owner about it. I have strange and detailed dreams, yes.
Lucia Li
Very long queue but the waiting time was shorter than expected, the staff were efficient and friendly. Ordered a basic fergburger with cheese and was struggling to finish, jesus the bun was so big and the beef patty was thick and juicy, yum! And all for only $13, really good value I felt stuffed til dinner...
Yuanyuan Sun
I have been there many times, as it is on the main street in the city center. Most burgers are really nice- I like The Bull Eye very much which is really juicy. Burgers are very worthy, not expensive and even bigger than your face. But as my experience, advance booking is much better if you don't want to wait for a long tine.

Ok, no need of a lengthy review as Fergburger is Fergburger and everyone knows what it is.<br/><br/>Let me put it this way - we bought our first burger 🍔 at around 11 pm then we returned to get another one at 9:30 am the next day; and on both occasions the queue was way beyond the adjacent shop.

The hype is real. First off, hats off to all the staff in Fergs for a fairly quick service even though the line goes on for miles. I tried both the Fergburger and the Ferg Deluxe and they were delicious. The bread for me stood out for its crunchy outside texture and soft and fluffy interior. The meat was nice and juicy and everything on the burger just worked so well. For the price, the burgers are very generous. Although it's not perfect to a tee, Fergburger did not disappoint and was a very worth it experience.

Always very busy, waited about 15 minutes in line and then 25 minutes for burgers. A long wait and very hyped up, the burgers were a good size and very tasty but I wouldn't say they were worth the hype, good thing to try one off while you are in Queenstown but I won't be rushing back.
Chris
The hype is real, these burgers are on point. Had the Double Ferg first up. Mind blowing. Followed it up the next day with the Bombay Chicken which was equal to it or better.<br/>The line goes fairly quick so don't let that put you off

We went at peak dinner time (8pm) and the line had 20 people! But the line moves quickly and it was only a 10min wait after ordering food. Very limited seating so a lot of people order takeaway. Best burger I've had?? Probably not, but it's definitely in my top 5! And the burger is MASSIVE! I struggled to finish the fergburger with cheese. Good value for money and if I'm Queenstown again I would definitely come back!!

Ferg burger is a must do for everyone visiting Queenstown, never ending long line in front of the shop there for a reason. <br/><br/>We tried Ferg a couple of times and ate numbers of different dishes from the menu, everything was delicious. Chips and onion rings are superb too!<br/><br/>Best to buy take away and enjoy the delicious burger in our accomodation looking at the lake view. Perfect!!
Ryan Leong
I ordered the Big Al severely underestimated the size of it. A gigantic heaping pile of juicy and well seasoned meat, melted cheese covering 2 eggs, sandwiched between 2 buns. <br/><br/>Usually burgers of this proportion are overpowering with the meat taste, and you get sick of it half-way through.<br/><br/>Not the case with the Big Al. Each bite was just as good as the last, with the relish, beetroot, and aioli balancing out the meat flavour.<br/><br/>Be warned though. Unless you can unhinge your jaw like a snake, you are gonna get messy eating this!<br/><br/>The spuds for the fries are skin-on too, fresh and crispy, just the right amount of seasoning.<br/><br/>Definitely worth the wait in the queue.
Nick Collins
Double with cheese. There's a queue out the door every night. It's even busy at 10am. 15 minute wait for burgers. There's a lot of hype about this place, maybe my expectations were too high. Not bad but not amazing
Travels4Food
Flavours were ok. Not sure it deserves the hype. Definitely much better burgers can be found in auckland. The sauce was good but the fish wasn't as tasty.
Crackerjacker
The burgers are delicious and definitely worth the money you pay. It's the price of your gourmet burger, but the best gourmet burger I have ever eaten. It's always busy so you know it's good. Even when there is a huge line the longest I've waited is 20 Minutes which I think is very efficient for the number of people there.
Janice Bautista
I ordered the original Fergburger and it was good. Burger was huge. Service was good and each burger is cooked as you order. However, it is nothing out of this world so I don't get why people are queueing up for it.
Ellynn
I always make it a point to eat here whenever I'm in Queenstown. The line is quick and they dont really make you wait that long. Try the lamb burger and the fergburger. My mom especially loved the Codfather. The aoli with the onion rings are also great.
Ryan Chris
It is really big burger with garlic mayo sauce. Great taste but no where to eat. So we had to it on the street.Nice tasty and worth it to wait.
Brad Jackson
The standard burgers were fine.<br/>Good even, but not exceptional, 'holy shit that's amazing' like I was expecting.<br/>Maybe the other burgers raise the bar and lend weight to the out the door line.<br/>Definitely worth giving it a crack.
MochA
Best burger I've ever had in my entire life! Got the Bombay chicken and asked for super spicy, they actually put a huge amount of chilli spice all over the chicken, it was absolutely delicious! Over and above my expectation, Fergburger you're worth the hype!!!
Vicki Wong
The famed ferg burger lived up to standards. I ordered the southern swine and a side of chips. Huuuge burger. Managed to only eat half and gave the other half to my partner. Tasty bacon, ripe buttery avocado and a succulent beef patty there was not much to fault. The crunch of the bun and the rocket sauce was a brilliant addition. The fries are pretty damn tasty too so make sure you order those as well. Just have some mints on hand after, from all the aioli and red onion...
Michelle Chua
FergBurger is the burger place that everyone tells me to go when I head down to Queenstown and true enough it's up to my expectation. The burger is amazing ( had the beef burger ) and had some bites of other burgers too. Long story short, try all the burgers when you're in Queenstown. <br/><br/>Burger is soft and beef is just nice to eat. Nice portion and it will fill you up. <br/><br/>It gets really busy but it's always worth the wait for good food
Becstasy
not much a burger fan but fergburger is exceptional! i had the morning glory burger with added avocado, and i really would say the best burgers in the southern hemisphere. we passed it the night before and the line was HUGE, so we went back the next night about 12am (they're open almost 24hours) and there weren't too many people around - wouldn't have waited over an hour as we had time, but i'm not surprised they're so popular! really good value for money, you get a massive, filling burger.
Joyce Chen
Before we came, we found the high rating so we decided to have a try, and it is worthy of its mark!<br/><br/>This time we chose the big stuff, chicken burger, chips and calamari. The burger is really a huge and fantastic one, if you are not that hungry, I recommend two girls to share one. <br/><br/>Moreover, I really appreciate meet chips and calamari in this restaurant cuz the chips still has potato's peel which makes it awesome, and the calamari is so juicy that you don't wanna miss! The only pity is the pino wine... it is a little bit disappointing cuz it tastes like combining with water...It is a bit too light for me...<br/><br/>The staff there are so nice, they will prepare your food as soon as possible and they really care your feeling towards their food. A great dinner experience!❤️
Jamie-Leigh Turk
This place always has a long line out the door. Unless you enjoy waiting in lines it is better to phone through your order. Our meal was ready 15 min after our call which was great considering the long line of people waiting to order in store.<br/>We ordered the Codfather, fergburger with cheese, tropical swine and sides of calamari and onion rings. We found all the food to be pretty average but the portion sizes were huge so if you are wanting a big feed then this is the place for you.
Ajay Patha
Best burger ever had..! Unique taste..! I still wonder why Fergburger has not started it food chains ?? I had best memories in Queenstown and one of them is burger at Fergburger !
Ashley
I had the godfather burger 10/10 PERFECT!! The only reason why i gave it a rating of 4.0 was because the wait and also it was pretty cramped in there. Those were the only downfall for me. 👍🏼
Jdt
Awesome. Big & tasty. Queues always out the door for good reason!!<br/><br/>Fresh local produce prepared well.<br/><br/>We had a lot of people recommend this place and did not disappoint.
Alana Cassiopeia
One word, big and loud, YUM!!!!! It was fresh, juicy and big! For my two weeks of skiing trip, I came back again, and again, and again! Ferg Bakery's cream donut was pretty awesome as well. Going home a happy chubby girl!
Brian With The Y
Always see this packed with people, so today I decided to try all three store burger/Bakery/gelato. Tried the Fergbuger & chips and it was totally worth the long waits.
Shreyas
What a delightful burger, One of its kind! <br/>Must go must try! <br/>Heavily crowded so be ready to wait, Professional staff, good service <br/>The ranges of burgers are something that would make you go for another try

Fergburger is a must eat when in Queenstown. A burger here will make any carnivore or vegetarian happy. This place makes some of the best burgers, if not one of the best burgers, I have ever had. Due to its single location and extreme popularity, you will be waiting in a long queue to order. There are tonnes of staff that keep it moving. The service here is amazing. You have multiple staff asking you how things are and if you need anything. It is not a full service restaurant. The seating is very minimal inside and hard to come by so expect to be taking your burger away. You see people all over downtown Queenstown eating Fergburgers. Queenstown also has great green spaces for hanging out so space is not hard to find to eat else where.

Was in Queenstown for the weekend and had heard about ferg burg so decided to try it out absolutely amazing service and food, 10/10 would recommended
Michael Nguyen
Knew this place was a popular spot for burgers coming to NZ. So we had to check it out. Ordered the Ferg double with cheese. Without adding to the hype, I can say that it was a good burger. The burger was nothing fancy/complex. The burger itself, I thought was relatively simple, however the Ingrediants were top notch and the pattie was cooked perfectly, remaining incredibly juicy. The burger size was quite good also, filling us up nicely. Even though the burger was big, it didn't fall apart upon eating because the bread was strong enough to hold it all together. All in all, a very well cooked/put together burger, and would definitely recommend to those travelling to Queenstown.
Anna
A trip to Queenstown would be incomplete with out a visit to the famous Fergburger. During our stay, we had Fergburger twice. Wait times are minimum 15-20 mins. Seating is limited, lines are long. This place is always busy...  I would recommend calling in and placing a phone order or being prepared to wait (avoid going during times where hangry levels are high!). The service is friendly, the staff work well together and seem like they have a good burger making chain going on. <br/><br/>I would recommend the Southern Swine with cheese (beef + bacon + avocado = yum!), although haven't tried many of the other burgers... The burger is huge, and well worth the price you are paying for it. The burger bun is lightly toasted, filled with fresh ingredients. The sauces work very well together and are not overpowering. The fries are also yum. If you're not a big eater, half a burger + fries is a good combo if you have someone to share with. <br/><br/>This place can be over hyped, it's delicious, but it's only as great as a burger can ever get!
Aaron87lee
All I can say is AMAZING!! <br/>All I've heard about when people head to Queenstown is "you need to try Ferg Burger trust me" and I was hoping that it would be such a build up just so I don't work myself up too much. Well ladies and gentlemen it was more then I was expecting. <br/>I tried the Big Stuff Burger that came with half a pound beef patty, cheese, lettuce, bacon, red online and barbecue sauce. The buns are made next door in the Ferg Bakery so they are nice fresh. I also had the fries with aioli sauce and they were on par with the Burger Fuel fries and aioli sauce. Overall it was a great experience. <br/>If you don't want to wait long just call them up and you can leave when they are almost ready. Dinner you can wait from 30-60minutes. <br/>But it's worth the wait trust me :)<br/>

Ferg Burger....one of the best burgers I had till date. Big and yummy with inhouse baked fresh bread and relishing meat. Bacon and beef lovers must try the "Southern Swine Burger" and the French fries are too addictive! Wish they had more outlets apart from Queenstown!

Considered the most delicious burger entire New Zealand, the famed fergburger. Went there at dinner time at 08.00 pm whilst stopped over in Queenstown. I must say it was one of the most delicious burger I've ever eaten. Ordered the fergburger and onion rings, and those both item was not dissapointing at all. a queue needed to place the order, I queued 20 minutes for it, and another 40 minutes to wait for your order be ready, you could stroll around this beautiful little town whilst your burger made.
Srinivas Adari
Awesome burgers. When we were here in summer last time we use to stand in long queue for an hour to get a delicious burger. Even we have given try to taste all burgers. But this winter luckily no longer queue. But the taste is double.
SDeans
Had the Ferg with cheese and my wife had the Bombay Chicken. The burgers were tasty, probably among the top 10 burgers I've had. But the patty was not hot enough, perhaps due to the chilly weather (I did have it right away). While the burgers are good, they are not life changing, so I would not queue up for more than 5 minutes to order, since you have to wait another 10-15 to get it.
Charlotteraju
Worth the hype and the 40min wait!! 🌟 Best burger in New Zealand for sure. Had the cockadoodle oink and bombay chicken and both were really good. Unfortunate that its all the way in Queenstown though
Kylee McConnachie
Delicious and fresh burgers. They were so filling. I would recommend these to anyone. I ordered over the phone as I had read precious reviews about the wait time ordering instore as it's very popular. They said it would be ready in 15 min and when I arrived it was ready. I could see it was very popular as all tables were take. Up and a bit of a queue.
Dale.nicky
Really nice burger. Price was good also. Not really worth the time spent in the lines. I got mine at 7am so had no line. Good customer service and clean restaurant.
Alexander Nuttall
The burgers are pretty good, definitely better than your average takeaway or pub style and they come at a reasonable price and are fairly large. One was a bit too much for me. The one negative is the wait times and how busy it can get. I'd recommend calling ahead. Would recommend!
Drishti Khandelwal
This is the one of the few places in Queenstown where I saw people queuing up at any given point of time ! Being a vegetarian I had a only 2 options to eat from! I chose the Bun laden . Amazing burger with falafel patties , fresh veggies and aioli . The size of the burger is huge and is a must try! Amazing burger !
AA
Gave this one a visit while in Queenstown. Well apparently it did seem to live up to its reputation. Queued for about 20-30mins before being able to place an order. Then its another 10-15mins before the order is ready. Waiting for the order felt like waiting to strike the lottery. The orders were prepared based on their complexity i.e. more common and 'simple'burger will be prepared much quicker.<br/>Food was ok. The burger was Hyuuugeeee and very filling. But its similar to the White lady burger or Velvet Burger in Auckland<br/>Customer service was good, but as the store is always busy, you could say that its 'shortstaffed'<br/>Ferg really needs more seating areas!
Melbourneats
I loveeee fergburger!<br/>Came here twice while we were down in Queenstown.<br/>There will always be a long line but it's bloody worth it. Get there a bit earlier than usual meal times to avoid long waits.<br/>The burgers are just so juicy with fresh ingredients that each bite bursts with delicious flavour.<br/>The shakes were average, wouldn't get them again.<br/>Chips are awesome.<br/>Bring fergburger to Melbourne Australia! <br/>Take your lover, friends or family here for perfect burgers.
KG
words cannot even begin to explain how amazing this place is. this is a must stop when in queenstown! 15 minute wait time at 4pm which is pretty good. heaps of staff and the place is nice and clean. prices of the burgers are good too, similar if not better than burger fuel etc. we tried the Mr big, chief wiggum, cockadoodle oink, chips and onion rings. we may even have to go again!!

When one is in Queenstown, one must try the legend, the notorious, the mythical, world renowned Ferg Burger.<br/>Famed throughout the world as the best burger joint in New Zealand, I was expectant and curious to check out this gramable burger establishment. <br/><br/>Checking it out on a Friday lunch I was astounded at the avalanche of people queuing up, was the whole of Queenstown out for lunch at Ferg Burger? Knowing that my hunger would consume my inwards rather than wait for a burger it was with heavy heart that I decided to try again at a different time.<br/>1am, I’ve been out riding bulls at Cowboys, getting jiggy at Vinnies and stumbling around the CBD it was as if the Culinary Gods were directing my drunken self because I found myself right outside the famed Ferg Burger….. And still there was a line! ( obviously not as long as it was at lunch ) so I hoped in and joined the queue.<br/><br/>10 minutes later holding the Ferg Original into the air as if I had just caught the Golden Snitch, I bit into the famed delicacy.<br/>A burst of flavors exploded in my mouth, the crunch of the fresh lettuce and a mouthful of Ferg Burger in mouth, I was confused. Confused at how the burger was good don’t get me wrong, it had a strong distinct flavor, tasted fresh and with a good amount of pattie but overall I didn’t feel blown away. I wanted to be mindf***ed and to feel as if I was out in the wilderness of the Wakatipu forest, surrounded by deer’s.<br/>A great burger indeed and at a very attractive price I definitely see the appeal but for all its fame I’ll admit I expected a little more. <br/><br/>Showstopper: Actually a very substantial burger<br/><br/>Overall Grade: B+
S&G Take Auckland
Fergburger is must-go-to in Queenstown. I found that the original Fergburger is rather a hype however they cock cajun burger is phenomenal. I would definitely go back and have it in a heartbeat despite the lengthy line!
Ming
Be prepared for a long wait. Every time I've walked past this place there's always been people lining up outside their door. I came on a Sunday afternoon and the total wait time from queue to getting food was just under an hour.<br/><br/>Burger wise, the buns were perfectly toasted on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. Southern Swine is an incredible burger as the crispy bacon and avocado go damn well together. Little Lamby on the other hand lacked flavor and the meat was dry. Lettuce was disheveled and brown in some parts so bit of a let down there.<br/><br/>Overall, worth a try as it seems to be such a local icon. Not sure if you can call ahead of time and order but I would advise it if possible. Lastly, they have limited seating inside so bring your burger to the lake and enjoy it there :)

Everyone told us that the one place we had to eat was fergburger and so we went and we did NOT regret it! Not only was it the best burger we have ever eaten, but they easily accommodated our changes to the burgers, it was cheap and we didn't wait that long. Also the service from the young crowd was incredible! 3 people had chatted to us to see how we were going by the time we finished eating!<br/>Also having the person greeting people in line to let us know the wait time was great.<br/><br/>We went at about 2pm waited in line less than 10 mins and then it took less than 20mins to get the food. Absolutely delicious burgers are massive - do yourself a favour and skip the fries you'll never get through it all!
Shazza
Been here so many times and it defiently got busier year by year. Fergburger is like a signature of Queenstown so I always try to have one if possible when I am there. However, I do not enjoy long waiting, so l started to order from the phone and pick up later without much waiting :)
Chloe Lin
Always have lots of people, you have to wait a long line but it's totally worth it! We got bullseye, big al and big stuff. That was amazing! We really enjoy what we had.
Alix
Burger is amazing but not as amazing as it was claimed to be -- i.e. best burger in the world. It's still definitely a must-try when you visit Queenstown. Highly recommended! There will always be a long queue, be prepared! However, the queue is way shorter at night so I suggest visiting around 8-9pm. They only have a few seats so it's basically for takeaways.
Rutu Pandya
This place lives up to all the hype. I had been worried the wait was gonna take forever., since it is usually jam packed with people. Fortunately, 11 am in the morning and it only took them 5 mins for my Bun Laden burger and Chips. <br/><br/>The burger was worth every penny, I LOVED IT !! Do try this place if you happen to be in Queenstown. A little suggestion, if you are someone who gets full easily, don't go around ordering sides coz the burger itself is HUGE.<br/><br/>Amazing people, the guy at the counter/make line was actually joking around with a lot of customers while he was working, which I really liked. He was also handing out suggestions to tourists to where they would like to go next and what places to visit etc.
Redsfanatic
The famous place for burger. We line up around 10 minutes and wait for 10 more minutes. The service was excellent. Small seating place. The burger i reckon its not exciting at all. I order the deer burger or bambi. Bun is tender and the meat is yeah so so however i actually decided to buy onion ring. One of the staff said she can order it for me so its good so i did not need to line up again. Overall it is a good experience and really recommended the onion ring, so chunky, very thin coating and crunchy not greasy
Quality! It Shouldnt Be That Hard! Love A Wonderful Mouth Full Of Wholesome FOOD!
I have heard lots of different reviews from people I have meet on my travels, I was not expecting it to be anything to amazing however it was amazing, I had been out drinking quiet a lot before I tried it. <br/><br/>I asked the lady who served me what she recommended? Her reply bacon n avocado burger! O.M.G I got it back to my hotel which was 10-15 mins away from the centre if town. I opened the wrapper and it was still hot... the taste was not much at first but it got better and better maybe perhaps because the first mouthful was mainly bun... it was so tasted can't wait to go back and try it sober. <br/><br/>I did go at 2:30 am in the morning the wait for the burger was no longer then 15 mins. It was well worth the wait!!!
Stephy_NakiGirl
Really really popular so be prepared to wait a while to order & get your food at most times of the day. Having said that though the staff are very good at communicating wait times to people in the line & there's lots of space to sit & wait on the benches outside. <br/>Burgers are all made fresh & taste pretty good. Tried the Fergburger with cheese - not the best I've had as compared to burger fuel patties which have more flavour but quite tasty.
ShoRt
This place is what everybody says is a must eat in Queenstown, and even though I think the burger is good, it is also just a burger. The price IS very reasonable though. If you have the time and patience I definitely encourage you to experience it but if not maybe try an odd time. It is open Nearly all day, so find a random time to visit.
Miettafeery
The burger I had was decent but nothing to rave about. My partner couldn't even finish his because his was too oily and unappetising. There are always huge lines here and big hype but I'd say it's definitely overrated.
Pallavi Agarwal
Definitely one of the best burgers in town ! And for a change there have good options for vegetarians as well ! YAY! The onion rings are worth trying ! In love with this place !
Chris
Fergburger deserve the reputation they've earned! This place was packed when we headed in. But the staff were absolutely pumping the burgs off the hotplate! The Ferg with Blue cheese was 10/10, as was the Bombay Chicken! Keep it up guys!
Tash
Went at 11 today and the line was still pretty big but moved fairly quickly. Finally got to try one of the famous Fergburgers and found they were tasty, but have had better. Maybe we are too spoilt for choice in regards to burgers in Melbourne but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to eat this again. All and all a good experience but I don't think it met the hype.
Charles
Waited an hour and 3 minutes. Bloody ridiculous. Would've thought they were sourcing the beef from France and the cheese from Switzerland.Dry and tasteless burger. Wouldnt come back. Very disappointed.
Grapefruit Groupie
Returned to Fergburger after fond memories of a juicy burger shared with a friend whilst singing to Don't Wanna Miss A Thing with the whole of Fergburger close to closing time. So definitely great memories. <br/><br/>Lined up for 20 minutes when we arrived before 6pm and another 20 minutes or so before we received our food. There were plenty of staff around offering help! We got the onion rings, which were a little under cooked but still good (2 dips were more than we need). I ordered the Codfather (because I am searching for a fish burger to replace my favourite) and it was ok. Nothing stood out but neither anything negative to say. Just tasted like fish and chips in a bun. Others had Mr Big Stuff (they loved it), Southern Swine and the Fergburger with cheese. That was personally my favourite, the patty was so good. The bun was great and just overall fresh tasty produce that went into the burgers. Definitely going back for the Fergburger before we fly off. We also got the Strawberry Thickshake, tasted like fresh strawberries instead of the usual syrup and also the White Chocolate with Chocolate Brownie Thickshake. Not my thing but the boyfriend enjoyed it.<br/><br/>Service is always great but I wouldn't line up any longer. The massive down size is the lack of seating spaces around there, and travelling with elderly parents, sitting on the grass by thr lake was not an option so we had to walk back to our rooms.
Srivar Harlalka
This place lives up to the tag it has been awarded - 'The best burger on the planet'. Located in the centre of Queenstown this place is something one cannot miss. Being a vegetarian I tried both the veg options available - Holier than Thou and the Bun Laden. I became a fan of the holier than thou burger but thought the other burger could be improved. Would be a 5/5 if there were more vegetarian options!
Ellie@W
The burgers definitely deserve the fame. A must to do thing in Queenstown. Need to queue long everytime. Highly recommend the 'little lamby' and grab a gelato from Mrs Ferg while waiting.
Rui Burguete
Best burger - or at least top 3 - I think I ever ate. Wow - the meat was just beautifully grilled, the wedges were great as well and the size of the portions gigantic. I was with some guys from Australia and they were the ones telling me that I couldn't miss it. Thanks you mates!
P L
This place is popular for a very good reason. Best burgers in NZ might have to go back for a visit just for this place. No lines the many times I visited but probably because it wasoff-peak season.
Ashish Pandey
The burgers are in incredibly high demand, there's no doubt about that. The reputation of Fergburger precedes it and unfortunately builds a very high expectation of the best budget you've ever had. The burgers were cheap and the staff did everything they could to make the wait worthwhile, they were friendly and very accommodating. The burger itself was huge and was well constructed, but I wasn't overly impressed by the overall taste of the burger. I'll recommend it but don't expect too much. Other friends really enjoyed it.
Yuris Ramadhan
It was a great experience to grab a burger in the night (9 pm) in queenstown, the burger was melted in my mouth and large enough for both of us. The interesting thing is the que line that long enough to hold your stomach to scream. However, the waiters were so generous to give the hot chocolate and cookies to all customer who still waiting their orders. In general, this restaurant is so hippies to miss
FoodieCCC
Great burger with generous portion. There was a LONG LONG line waiting for the burger, we almost waited ten minutes, but the burger itself was really deserve such long waiting time.
Nischal Sharma
It is probably impossible to brave the waiting across the crowd and ask for a vegetarian burger with a non embarassed face straight up at Fergburger. The most iconic eating joint in Queenstown and is always abuzz with patrons.<br/><br/>Although it is insanely popular for its classic meat offerings, I found the Falafel one to be equally appetizing!
MelbfoodCritic
Burger was huge & patty was juicy & meatier. It has lettuce the way I like plus right amount of sauce. However the burger was tiny bit overpriced I felt. Chips were good but extra $2 for sauce sounds ridiculous given the fact they charge you a lot & the place is so busy. Staff appeared friendly but very superficial cause it's busy? Anyway overall rating 3.8*
Pineapple San
I tried the Mr Big Stuff burger and found it to be fantastic. The portion is humongous and the quality is great. The beef patty was very juicy and the bacon was quite nice. It was also quite cheesy without being overpowering! <br/>At $16.50 it was definitely very reasonable for the portion you get. However, I'm not sure if I would wait for almost an hour for it again! Either that or I'll make sure to plan my time well to accommodate Fergburger waiting times!
Diner8Here
was originally gonna eat at competitor  devils burger but sadly there was a note on door saying it was close for a xmas function (are they permanently closed locals?) so came here instead and as i was staying at the place almost opposite this place is  packed out the entire time i was in queenstown. Had the lamby burger n chippies and burger was massive and just manage to finish.
Samuel Williams
Best burger I've had. I had the chief wiggum, which is pork belly with hash brown and a sweet seeded mustard sauce needless to say I scoffed it down. Big healthy serving heaps of chips too and it was less that $20. The line is always big but I went in the morning so there was only a couple of people there. But if you ring them up you can place your order and it'll be ready in 15mins and you can just grab it from the pick up window...you're welcome ;)<br/><br/>Everything about the place is great it's a cool atmosphere and everyone has this sense of accomplishment for getting a burger, which is strange but awesome haha!
Marggie Pascua
Amazing quality for their burgers and fries. It's a huge portion also, and the best time I reckon to go is before lunch so that there's no huge line that you have to queue in. For lunch and dinner the line can even go outside their store and it would obviously be hard to look for a place to sit down. The burger is so big that we had to take it away because we couldn't finish it. But it is amazing, would definitely come back when I'm back in Queenstown.

So I'm lying back at the hotel room, still hungover from the wedding I attended at The Wine House yesterday, but I'm somewhat disgruntled.<br/><br/>When I'm hungover, I put great importance on what I choose to fill my empty tummy with, I think it's one of life's great joys to fill the void in your belly that excessive drinking has caused from the previous night, so It was with great excitement that we took a walk to Fergburger to fill our voids.<br/><br/>And it is with great disappointment that I lye here now drafting this review. Bland, tasteless burgers.  It appears what they lack in taste they try to make up for in size, they are very big burgers.  We ordered the pork belly burger and the fish burger.<br/><br/>People line up for a looong time down the street to eat these burgers. We waited around 30min. It's 30min of my life I'll never get back. It's a hangover meal that I "oh so look forward to" which I won't get back.<br/><br/>I feel like I've just been robbed by the Ferg.<br/><br/>Amazing what marketing and a bit of hype can do for a business. Such a damn shame the food doesn't stack up.
Adam Faatoese
Been to Queenstown multiple times but only just lost my Fergburg virginity on my most recent visit and I loved it! The wait in line and for my order was definitely worth it! Very filling but managed to get through it all. Didn't have to eat for a while after that. Definitely again on my next visit!!!
Xian
Tasty, well balanced burger with fresh ingredients and an interesting aioli to tie it all together. It may not be the best burger I have ever had but it is definitely a contender. The only downside is the wait, which at 11am in November was only 15mins, but I hear it can be quite long at other times. Definitely recommend the Fergburger. :)

5mins wait to order but it was raining otherwise long lines. Burger was okay staff are very friendly. Maybe it's better when it's winter and you grab a steak burger after skiing
ChefKimmy
Fergburger was an absolute winner. The burger tasted amazing and had a perfect balance between all layers of fillings, and burger to bun ratio. They also have gluten free options which is a major plus. I've been back twice since my first visit because it's that good. A world renowned burger joint, with very good reason. Service time of about 10-15 minutes even in a busy period or a rush (which is consequently most of the day) but handle the pressure superbly.

I ordered sweet bambi and hubby got cajun chicken. We also ordered calamari and a side of fries. The burgers were yummy! My burger had a venison patty and it tasted like beef with a hint of something else (cant put my finger on it) but anyways it was my first time eating venison and it was the bomb def get this burger again. Hubby enjoyed his burger, says one of the sauces were over powering other than that it was delicious. The calamari was disgusting lol looked like rubber, tasted nothing like calamari at all. Fries were alright. Have had better.
Lily
It's a bit busy, and you should expect a long line on certain hours. But the prices are reasonable and the burgers taste like heaven. So juicy and tasty. I really loved the restaurant and I will definitely go there again if I go to Queenstown.

My first visit to any burger outlet with an extremely humongous expectation.. why? Cz since the day we landed in Queenstown, we were asked to try out their burgers which are supposed to be one of the best burgers in the world. So after a tiring jet boating session me n my husband were very hungry and the only place that struck us was Fergburger.. n yep we hit this place at around 3 p.m. With a relatively lesser crowd.. (we were in a queue fr around 5 minutes and the order took 10 minutes to be prepped,so yeah lesser time compared to their history of long queues where people even had to wait for 30 or 45 mins) We ordered for their Big Al and Cock Cajun burgers and boy did it blow our minds away!! Completely lives up to the hype surrounding the place with a friendly staff.. A lil pricy but worth a try... So it was a hit with me and my hub.

Great burguer!! 👌👌👌 With a variety of burguers for everyone, for every culture!! Nice customer service. Great reward is to see customers all over the St, just to taste a delicious Ferg! Congratulations!! Our recommendation goes only for better 🍟!!

I don't understand the hype surrounding this place. First time I visited the wait was around 40 minutes at 11:30am on a Saturday morning. I don't want to wait that long for a burger no matter how good it may be.<br/><br/>Last week on a Friday morning the wait was only 20 minutes which significantly improved my experience. I ordered the Fergburger with cheese, my partner ordered the Mr Big Stuff and stupidly, fries.<br/><br/>I now realise this place has been ahead of the burger game for a long time. The burgers were once expensive but now are great value compared to what you get in Auckland. They have good variety on the menu and quality hasn't decreased over time.<br/><br/>Good thing we were too full to eat the chips because they were a real disappointment. They were cold when given to us so could only get worse from there.<br/><br/>There are much better things to do in Queenstown than wait 30+ minutes in a line for a burger but if you hit a good time then it can be a good experience.

I have been told by a lot of friends and family that if you haven't been to fergbuger then your trip to Queenstown is incomplete. Ferbuger is worth the hype created around it. Firstly be prepared to stand in the que for a minimum of half an hour any time of the day or night. This place is always crowded. But the wait is worth it , the burgers are the best I have had. They are soft and juicy and I guess they would taste even better when hot since I had them cold.I also love the fergbakery. They have some amazing deserts and gelato. Loved this place.

Went to Fergburger in February 2015. It is an amazing experience. The burger joint blends well with the atmosphere of the city.<br/><br/>The food was excellent. Since my wife is a vegetarian, I had the chicken cajun burger and my wife had the bun laden (veg falafel burger). The burgers were big enough to be called a meal in itself and were also delicious. With that, we had their home brewed beer which went really well the burgers.<br/>The crowd was good and the ambiance was decent. We sat in the outdoor seating area as the weather was also nice.<br/>The service was also great. It is definitely a place to have a meal if in Queenstown.

This place was on the bucket-list whilst our visit to Queenstown as we read rave reviews about this place. And like I read and as expected, there was a long bee-line to place the order and it took a good 35 to 40 mins to get our order. Nevertheless, we weren't disappointed! We ordered the only vegetarian options on the menu which was "Holier Than Thou" & "Bun Laden". The first one is a sandwich with batter fried tofus topped with veggies and chutneys, simply mindblowing..!! The next one was with Falafel Patties, definitely not the middle eastern kind, but it was great too... Our long wait didn't go down the drain...!! Kudos to the team..!
Devon
Queue was long but with the wait don't be turned away by the line they are pretty quick. We got ours takeaway and at by the water it was beautiful. Ducks and seagulls were more than happy to wait for the scraps!
Xzenia
Never disappointed by the burgers here!!! A visit here is always a must and one of the attractions in Queenstown for my family. Whatever u order... get the blue cheese added.. you will not regret it!<br/><br/>The fries were awesome!!!
Amanda O'Sullivan
Very underwhelming burger, maybe this is because I come from Melbourne and have been to several new and exciting burger joints. The 'fergburger' was pretty standard, not worth having again in my opinion. The service was pretty good considering the place was packed, and the order only took about 15 minutes.
Starlessleviathan
Had the chicken burger and partner had the Blue Cheese Burger. Not the greatest. The chicken burger was bland, tasteless and incredibly thin, the blue cheese burger was alright, but not as good as other burger places in Queenstown.
Vasilev07
I love this place! Ilive in Melbourne and 4 different people have told me I need to try Fergburger on my holiday. The line is long and the wait was aprox 20 min but worth every minute. I ordered the 'Mr Big Stuff' for only $16.50, I'm a big eater and this definitely filled me up with 1/2lb of prime NZ beef. I leave in 6 days and il be coming back again!! if your in queenstown, you need to check this place out.
Shirley Yu
Heard about this famous burger before and finally got a chance having a taste of it. We had the most common burger and it was extraordinary good! The size of the burger was beyond imagination and the beef inside was tasty. In total, it was sooooo good!
Iris Joy Ebasco Edic
The burgers here ere very popular that we heard a lot of good conments and even the taxi driver who took us to our hotel was telling us to visit when we drove by the place. The burgers were different from the usual we had, chicken tazted very fresh, not frozen. And the size of the burgers were👍🏻👍🏻.. Service was also good. Staff are always smiling and accomodating. ✔️✔️✔️<br/>The queu for orders here is always long everytime we pass by the road. ✔️ i will surely be back if Ever im back in Quuenstown again.😁
Jay Dias
Loved it, good food with fresh produce, my wife a codfather and bulls eye, I will go there again, a must go place in Queenstown!!
Eric
Holy Moly, that was really worth the 10 minutes wait! Mr Big Stuff is it! <br/><br/>Some places offer a few good things and the rest would be so so, not this place. My wife and I shared the burger, it's an age thing, but ordered the Calamari and Onion rings as sides, delicious! not soggy or oily at all, very good! <br/><br/>
Jeny Amelia
BEST BURGER EVER. would definitely come back when i have the chance to go to queenstown! i wont mind their line, their burgers is just.... man no words!
Biggiechee
Fergburger is an institution in Queenstown that every visitor must try or else face regret. We tried to go there during dinner but it was going to be an hour's wait. So we decided to come back the next day. I got the classic fergburger. It was delicious, the meat was juicy and the bread was soft. The staff there work at lightning speed. Well done Fergburger!
Jackie Cee
Best burger I've ever had.  I was in Queenstown for a week and the 3am 'tactical fergy' became a nightly ritual.  Fergberger with cheese and a side of chips every time.  No line at 3am either.  So juicy so tasty, and the patty isn't overcooked (they have to cook them to death where I live due to the laws, so was nice to have a juicy patty). Lives up to the hype in every way.
Mina
This place definitely lives up to its reputation! Hands down best burgers in the world. Although they were very busy, we called and placed a large order before showing up, order was ready in only 15 minutes. Only problem is, the staff are very rude and need to work on their customer service. But the burgers made up for it!
Mario Forster
Cold burger, 40 minute wait time, basically tasteless too. The restaurant is tiny and uncomfortable. If you want a good burger just go the the tap and fork or the hole in one cafe. This place does not live up to the hype at all. Save your money; don't eat here.
Let Laura Eat
Everytime we walked past the line was at least 20 people long, one morning when we were walking past & there were no people we took the opportunity to order a burger & see what the hype was about. They were definitely nice & filling, but I don't know if I would wait for 30 minutes in line for one.
BukanOtotTapiLemak
With the long line, they work quite fast on service. We waited approximately 10 to 15mins as promised for our burger. The meat in bulls eye burger were tender and juicy although a bit bland i must say. The aioli inside help enhanced the flavour tho. Overall, great steak burger.<br/>
Carl
If you're in Queenstown you have to try this place; plain and simple! It's part of the Queenstown experience! The burgers are as good as a burger can be and as long as you don't have to wait an hour + than I'd say it's worth the wait
Ezzz
I was in Queenstown for 4 days and lots of friends recommend this place. The burger was actually MASSIVE!! And definitely worth the 40 minute wait!! Got the mr big stuff ($16) burger and was superrrrrrr good!! Juicy patties and crunchy bacon, along with the fresh veges, unbeatable. Worth the rave, worth lining up. I reckon it is better than a few burger shops in akl ahha and the price is really fair as well. Only wish the line wasn't so long, would've went back for another haha this impressed me so much and wish they had a store in akl!
Dean Biskupovich
Being from Philly and living in Aussie....this is by far the BEST burger I've had in a long time...and that's at least 6-7 years!! Yum and worth the wait! Even met a Bostonian and bought him a beer....cheers Phil and happy travels!
Siobhan
Thank goodness this place lives up to the hype! Stopped by for lunch and had a short wait of 15 mins for our order - stoked. The staff are friendly and the burgers are flippin' good! I Really enjoyed the Bombay chicken and the rest of the crew loved their Big Al's.
Natasha
Hands down one of the best lamb burgers I've ever tasted. I would come back to Queenstown just to go to fergburger again.<br/>Good portion sizes for both burgers and fries - was a bit difficult to finish.
Elodie Triton
Tried the venison burger with fries and their mulled cider, best thing ever on this cold night!! Waited 45mins to get my food, so went for a walk but it was totally worth the wait! Staff are so friendly despite working in such a hectic environment! Hats off guys! :)
Cino's Mum
<br/>Always the first port of call when we roll into Qtown. Consistently getting busier (although very efficiently managed) and always so freaken good. This is real, unpretentious food, done well. <br/><br/>This time round it was the sweet bambi and the sweet Julie. Winners both. In Ferg we trust.
Mel Q
Well it's a big burger and a queue to match. Be prepared to wait and potentially not find a seat. It's always packed. As for the burger, I'm glad I tried it. Still not the best I've had by far. I had the Bombay Chicken burger. It wasn't as flavoursome as I thought it might be and considering all the ingredients. Onion rings a good side.
Robert Liong
I can't believe that I actually joined the queue out of my curiousity to try out how good a Burger can be...<br/>Standing on a cold windy nite, with my feet, ear & hands freezzing out. Honestly I almost give up on that.. but something inside me just keep on saying "c'mon u got to try this, at least for once!!"... FINALLY, after nearly 1 hour of queing, it was my turn to order. After I ordered, I still need to wait for about 10 minute for them to prepare for the food...<br/>It was all made fresh.. I thought... OK, let's see how worthy was that...<br/>And then, my number were called, I took the burger, & a couple of pictures with that....<br/>Finally, I tried my 1st bite.....<br/>"DAYUM!!!... it was hell of a Burger!!!...<br/>It's F-kin AWESOME .... the Best of the Best Burger in this World!!!... the Bread was so fresh, crispy on the outside, yet soft on the inside, the red onion & vegetables were fresh just like the hand picked it from the garden... & the meat... ouchhh... so juicy & tender...<br/>I'm not making this up.. but really... the queue & all the effort were paid off on the very 1st bite. You MUST try this Burger if you happen to be in Queenstown
Sen De Silva
One of the only places that live up to the hype! Always a must when in Queenstown just sad I have to live up with the s*** known as velvet burger in Auckland
Hharkirat Siingh
Heard a lot about this place! Such a treat, worth every buck... Waiting line and time can be long! If you are in queenstown this place is a must! Go foodies eat all the burgers!
Nikhui
While I cannot comment on the meat burgers, the tofu burger was easily one of the best vegetarian burgers I have ever tried. My boyfriend tried the 'Big Al' and he said it was amazing. The lines are huge, so make sure you get in early. The fries are quite average though. If you go in winter, make sure you try the hot apple cider! Easily the best cider I have ever had.

We were first attracted to the place by the long customer line taking up most of the footpath until we were advised by other tourists to try out this burger place. So one morning around 10.30am thinking that we would get in before the lunch crowd we made our way to FergBurger, which is located within the CBD. The line was long. We stood for approximately 25 minutes in the queue and waited for another 10 mins for our order but all that waiting was rewarded with this deliciously made burger! Highly recommended and honestly the best I have tested in a while.
Lazypandah
Named the best burger joint on the planet, I came here only to find a massive queue daily during my stay in Queenstown.  My partner and I tried their "Mr Big Stuff" and "Holier than Thou". The Mr Big Stuff burger was incredibly delicious, succulent and juicy! Highly recommend! The Holier than Thou is truly unique and delicious, plus it's vegetarian too!! It is a great burger to enjoy which is both filling and amazingly yum!  I cannot wait to come back to Queenstown for these amazing burgers again!! Read more on the ingredients and experience at Ferg's burger on my blog -->

Delicious food, big serving. For one person, one burger would be enough. Ingredients taste fresh and fries are crispy. My favorite of queenstown
Mezza
Visited Fergburger twice in one day, so it's pretty good. Enjoyed the 'Sweet Bambi'- vension patty with a sweet, plum sauce. The BF had the Fergburger (with cheese) which he declared as awesome. The burgers are simply massive and are made with quality ingredients. It's a Queenstown institute and worth the wait.
Mansi Trivedi
They serve Huge burgers. I had their laden burger with avocados. The patty was not that crusty . I liked their sauces. There is always a waiting line and you dont get place to sit easily . Staff is friendly and nice.

Good burgers! Had the Ferg with blue cheese, and the tropical one with pineapple. Both delicious and huge. Also had hot chips with sweet chili sauce and a couple of drinks - the homemade hot cider was suitably warming. Bit crazy in terms of incessant queues and inability to get a seat. If you can put up with that there is certainly some joy consuming a hot plump burger in the freezing weather.

I have never given 5/5 rating to any place and i dont give it just like that. Had visited this place way back in 2013 and trust me i would love to visit this place athough its more than 10000 miles away from my place. Only one small problem i faced was there are only 2 Veg burgers in menu. I would like to bring this to managements notice as many Indians visit queenstown in thousands who are Vegetarians.
DrH
My rating is heavily influenced on the hype vs reality factor because that's what gets people into the joint and what they trade on. The "you absolutely have to have Fergburger when in Queenstown" hype around this place is unbelievable and all power to them for that. On it's own, Fergburger sells perfectly lovely burgers, a cut above most burger joints and a million cuts above any burger chain out there. The line is ridiculous, they snake down the street and the crowd is so thick in front of the store that Queenstown Council has had to widen the footpath! More on that shortly*. Within the store itself things are orderly, they have their system worked out so that they pump out the burgers as quickly as possible whilst ensuring that they are fresh and tasty. Having said that, the sheer number of people visiting means that you're not getting served any time soon*.<br/><br/>Between the two of us we had a Chief Wiggum and a Double Fergburger with Cheese along with some fries and aioli. Both burgers were hot and as fresh as possible, very tasty and quite generous. We were both happy with our burgers and satisfied with our choices. But. Is this any better than that gourmet burger joint that's close to you? Probably not. There are at least three or four burger joints near where I live that are as good as Fergburger. Having said that, if someone asked me if these local joints are worth a visit I would say yes. It's just that I would not say that it's something you absolutely must have when you are in my part of town and that's how I feel about Fergburger.<br/><br/>In summary, of you're up for a really great burger and have a lot of time to spare then happily make your way down to Fergburger. Just don't visit Queenstown and feel that it is something you simply must do, if you don't make it it then don't be kicking yourself that you missed out.<br/><br/>* Skip the queue......we called our order in whilst having a few beers at a local pub and then picked it up from a seperate "pre-orders" window. It took about half an hour of speakerphone redial to get through and then it was 45 minutes until it was ready but an hour and a bit enjoying several of NZs fine, fine beers was better than the same amount of time standing in a queue.
Narayanan Valadi
Fergburger, as expected, was very good and the burgers were really value for money. As always, the lunch time was quite crowded and one had to wait to secure the meals. All in all, a must visit for tourists visiting this lovely little town of Queenstown. Highly recommended.
Nick Haack
I do love a good fergburger. The hype definitely lives up to the reality. On a rainy day, fergburger brings you warmth and comfort.<br/><br/>Dont ever leave me ferg.
Nikhil Surana
Amazing places it's defo worth the wait always crowded and most demanding place in queenstown. Their burgers are amazing we had the vegetarian ones should give it a try when you are in queenstown.
Edward
Just reopened after referb. Looks exactly the same as last time I was here. Still the best burgers in the southern hemisphere. Delicious Southern Swine and fries.
A Foodie Travels
There is a huge queue to get in here ,top tip go super early to get burger eg between midnight to about 8ish in the morning ,from about 9.30 onwards massive queues ensue .I thought the massive queue meant they were slow to make the burgers but people were so efficient and fast .Anyways to star the burger is massive not like other ordinary burgers, I ordered a Indian chicken burger which was delish, chicken was cooked spot on (I dislike overcooked chicken
Annette Wong
If you dont try a burger here while your in queenstown, your missing out! Super delicious, fresh and good quality. Who doesnt like giant juicy burgers?
Matt
The rumours are true. Fergburger burgers are the best. Full stop. The line can sometimes be extremely long but it's definitely worth the wait.
Maneet Ahuja
The single most popular eating joint I'd say on the entire street. Or at least what the many people made me believe who said that this was a must try.<br/>If you are walking down on the shotover st, you can miss it, or the crowds won't let you.<br/>On our visit, we had to stand in the queue for 20 mins before we could place the order. But trust me, it was such a cheerful atmosphere in the cool Queenstown evening that it made the wait rather amusing.<br/>Don't remember the exact order but we ordered a chicken, a lamb, 2 veggie burgers, one chips and one milk shake. The service was quick and we managed to get a bench to ourselves outside the joint.<br/>The burgers were so succulent with perfectly grilled meat with right amount of veggies and sauce. The shake and fries weren't too special I'd say but it was like a carnival atmosphere out there which made the whole experience even better.<br/>A must try I'd say to anyone visiting Queenstown.<br/><br/>Damages: $65 for the lot (absolutely worth)<br/><br/>Cheers!
NZAURUSS
Presumably renowned by the CNN....that's how we learned about this place anyway. Went there around 8.30am (the four of us) a few days ago whilst touring the South Island. Huge queues, lots of hype, crowds of excited Chinese tourists....ordered four fergburgers - service was very well-organised, efficient and friendly but that's about it. The food was of reasonable quality but certainly not worth the hype! The patty was tasteless, alas! IMHO just an average burger joint, we have had much better and what's more important, tastier burgers in Melbourne!<br/>Overall - not bad.<br/><br/>P.S. Cafe Hydro in Twizel makes excellent lamb burgers -much better than the fergburgers! Strongly recommended!
Rose
The best place you could ever have a burger. A good atmosphere with really nice staff and the burger is massive with good flavours. The price is definitely worth what you get. Definitely check this shop out whenever your in Queenstown as it is quite famous for their burgers.
Joan Cecille De Guzman-Lomibao
Huge burger and definitely the best burger in town... Visited this place in 2013... No wonder this place is jam-packed with people wanting to try their awesome burger...
Insiya Husain
The never-ending queues down at this place speaks for itself. I mean, where in the world do you find queues for a burger at 9am? Only at Fergburger!!<br/><br/>The hottest burger joint in New Zealand for sure, if not the entire planet! On our 3 day stay in Queenstown, we passed by the joint everyday thinking if we could find shorter queues and get to know why the hype. But alas, such a day never came! Finally, decided to jump on the wagon and line up for a burger on our last day. <br/><br/>And thus, the one hour wait wasn't any disappointing. Yes the entire process of lining up to getting our hands on the iconic burgers for takeaway took a good one hour. We ordered the 'Little Lamby' & 'The Fergburger' with onion rings. We were told by our friends back home that the portions are huge for one person. But to be honest, I found the portion quite alright. <br/><br/>Little Lamby had a lamb patty whereas the Fergburger had a beef patty, both of which are New Zealand's prime produce. Regardless to say, the burgers were nothing less than a gastronomic delight! It definitely has to do with the quality of produce in the region. The aioli had a prominent and a very distinctive taste. We got our onion rings with the aioli sauce which I relished much after we got done with our pretty good portion of the rings. However, the onions were very thickly cut & were not crispy enough which I didn't like much. <br/><br/>Other than the burgers, there were 2 things that I greatly appreciated:<br/>1. One could track their burger online on their website. Now, how cool is that? I could actually track while sitting outside whether my order has been processed or not! It's a convenient thing for many to order, finish a few stuff to do around the area within the 20-30 mins wait instead of just anxiously waiting to get their bites. Afterall, Time is money!! <br/>2. They had veg options!!! To be honest, I thought the hype is just because of the meat and since there aren't a lot many vegetarians in New Zealand, it seemed unlikely they would have veg options. But their veg burgers - Holier than thou (tofu option) & Bun Laden (falafel one) looked just as tempting as the others. The vegetarian Indians before me were enjoying their bites just as much! <br/><br/>Overall, must place to go for some Fergburgers when in Queenstown. Don't be put off by the wait, it's all part of the buzz. There's something for anyone and everyone, whether you are a beef, lamb, chicken, seafood or a veg lover! Just get your burger, and sit by the beautiful outdoor waterfront location in Earnslaw park ahead. <br/><br/>And while at it, why not complete the Ferg trifecta by going next door to Mrs. Ferg for their breakfast or hit desserts by using the discount code? ;)
Disha
So the much talked about Fergburger. Day or night you will find people on que waiting to order which takes about 15-20 min. I had to wait for 30 which is alright cause one needs to be prepared. I ordered their signature 'The Fergburger' and it was a good hearty meal for $13 but it's nothing like that I haven't had before. I would enjoy the same kind of. Burger at Burger King I guess. I do love the energy of this place just outstanding staff who are so hardworking.
Sonam Bajaj
There is always a queue here . Burgers here re huge and very aptly filling for one. I tried vegetarian falafel which was nice. <br/>Though looking at people and queue, I am sure non-vegetarians burgers are hit \. They charge for extra sauce .    <br/><br/>Must visit place .
Addy
One of the best juicy burgers I have ever had ...<br/>They have only 2 varieties of Veg burgers ..<br/>The Tofu one and the Falafal one .<br/>Tried the Falafal one and was really great ..<br/>It's pretty huge but really nice :)

A definite must when the in Queenstown. The queue is long that we decided to go back the next day early which we did. We ordered the Fergburger and Ferburger with blue cheese. It was absolutely delicious and the burger is massive. It would have been good witha soda or milkshake but I needed my morning coffee fix so it wasn't that bad at all.

LOCATION:<br/><br/>Situated right on Shot Over Street. Its so popular that you would stand a good probability of asking a 5 year old about Fergburger and he would be able to show you the way. <br/><br/>OVERVIEW & INTERIORS:<br/><br/>Its a take away place which is situated in the absolutely gorgeous Queenstown, New Zealand. Enjoying one of the most prime locations in town, they serve gourmet burgers and sandwiches. The interiors are basic but cool and this place has a huge fan following in Queenstown. We had to actually wait in que for half an hour to order our burgers and then wait another half an hour to get them.<br/><br/>WINE & DINE:<br/><br/>I called for the Cajun Chicken Burger and my wife opted for the Bun Laden. Trust me when I tell you, "They were smashingggggggggggggggg". I think the quality of the produce available in New Zealand obviously helped a bit, but then the sauce was perfectly made in both the burgers. They were soft enough to melt in your mouth and yet grilled enough to have a smoky flavor. The chicken was tender, spiced well and evenly cooked. It was the simple things done well.<br/><br/>FEEDBACK FOR IMPROVEMENT:<br/><br/>The french fries could have been better. While they were still very good, invariably you start comparing the same with the burger and then you sort of say to yourself "That was just ok". Any other place, I guess they would have qualified as great.<br/><br/>VERDICT:<br/><br/>The best burger I have had and may be you will too if you get a chance to grab one here. Be prepared to have an hour in hand. Or just grab a pastry from fergbaker next door while you wait !!
Annie Nguyen
Read the reviews and decided to order a Mr Big Stuff burger and onion rings. Pretty disappointed. The burger wasn't all that bad but it wasn't amazing and really lacked flavour. I'm not sure if my burger was missing sauce but my friends didn't seem too impressed by their burgers either. The onion rings were also not battered crispy enough and even with the sauce, it was bland. Overall, bland meal. Prefer Grill'd burgers.
Nick Brennan
If you're like me and your ideal burger is one from Shake Shack or In 'N Out, then don't both with Ferburger.  There's nothing wrong with the burger (the one I had was fine), but they're just a different style to that of Shake Shack or In 'N Out.
Benedict Uy
The lines for this place is always so long. We went in at opening and the line wasn't as bad as normal. Nice, big burgers that kept us going for a while. I went with the chicken one and the sauce was what made the burger really good. Worth a try since we were there and it was nice.
Ines
I'm sorry to be harsh but the burgers were nothing like what I expected. People have built up the reputation so much that the result could only be deceiving. And I tried it twice with 2 different burgers just to be sure I didn't go on a bad day. Not saying the burgers are not nice just saying they are not as nice as shouted or are not worth the very long wait. I have had better burgers. They are pretty big though and fairly cheap as they are filling you up. Once ordered the service was quite fast. There is barely any room for you to sit and enjoy your burger. I would not go back, burger was decent but not amaze balls.
Crispy Shell
The good: robust bun, juicy pattie cooked medium. Nice condiments. Fries are well drained of oil that provide a crunchy salty kick.<br/><br/>The bad: Queue control is nuts. Went at 10 pm fighting through the drunken crowd, and trying to figure out some semblance of a pickup system. It all falls apart with large crowds. Same poor staff member struggling to take and bag orders at the same time. Got shortchanged, went back to fix it. They got my order wrong, minus a pattie. You snooze you lose I guess. <br/><br/>Eat there once and tick it off your bucket list.
Michelle Hwang
The bigger expectation, the bigger disappointment. Both serving size and taste was just average level to me. But the cashier staff was very friendly to every customer.
Jim
I haven't been to ferg burger in over 5 years however they did not disappoint. Still probably the best burgers around. Hopefully they'll develop an app to speed up the ordering process noting it's popularity and how long it takes
Vrinda Kedia
Went there a month back. Heard a lot about this place. Infact when we reached there we saw a huge queue outside and obviously we expected a lot. But was disappointed. The burgers were good but not as mind blowing as everyone claimed it to be. So if you're in stopping in Queenstown for a day. Don't waste your time waiting in that long queue.
Mahak Agarwal
After ages i saw a big queue to enter a place, that too which serves only burgers, despite of being in queue for 15 mins the staff is so calm and friendly, they help you wat to order and how it will be!! <br/>Loved the ambience here, crowded but good music, amazing staff. <br/>Burgers are really huge in size, I was able to finish it was completely stuffed but loved the taste.<br/>If you are in queenstown you would definately not like to miss Fergburger!!

It's true what they say, a definite must to go to when dining in Queenstown and it's evident from the massive line that forms every night! Not that far a walk from the town's pier, the burgers served up were as juicy as they can get! Although warning, it is quite a messy feed which is expected as the burgers are quite big and full of ingredients! I must say the only downer with the burger was the bun. It became soggy due to the sauce quite fast so didn't hold the contents as well and was a lot staler than I expected. Overall, staff provided quick service to the best of their ability and as all the residents of Queenstown, were very lovely and accomodating.

Fergburger is definitely worth waiting in line for! A must when in Queenstown. The best tasting burger I have had! The burgers are generous, made with high quality ingredients and it doesn't cost the earth. What more can you ask for? Yay for Fergburger!

I was told this is the best burger anywhere. The lines were very deep all weekend at all times of the day! So it must be good. We got lucky with our timing as the lines were not long. The burgers were fresh and tasty. Milkshakes were good but flavoured milk, not thick kind, just an FYI.

Since booking our trip to Queenstown we had been looking forward to trying the famous Fergburger! We visited at around 6:30pm and waited around 30-40 minutes in total for our food, which was fine considering the queues are present throughout the day! We ordered a southern swine and a mr  big stuff.<br/>Both burgers were very tasty with fresh ingredients and great quality beef in the burger itself. The bacon was very nice and the sauces in both (aiolo, bbq, tomato relish) complemented the burgers well. The only criticism we have is that the burgers are ridiculously greasy and near impossible to eat without making a mess. They were served on the sauce-heavy side which meant they dripped absolutely everywhere. Also the southern swine burger came without avocado for some reason. <br/>Our meal was enjoyable nonetheless, but would definitely be made better if the burgers were easier and less messy to eat!

Whenever you visit Queenstown you have to be here for food, else it's a waste trip. Believe me it's the best of the burger you will ever have. The aroma of the burger in restaurant itself gives you different kick. Try all the burgers they are all awesome. My personal favorite is the "Fergburger". Very easy on pockets, stomach filling and hunger satisfying burgers. They also have good options on sides and drinks. Prefer having take away, As sitting inside is limited. Hygiene and cleanliness is good. Killer, amazing, lip smacking, awesome these are the only one of the words you will say. <br/>Food Quality - 4.5/5<br/>Taste - 5/5<br/>Hygiene & Cleanliness - 4/5<br/>Price - 4.5/5

A must must have when in Queenstown. It's the only one they operate which is famous all over the world! <br/>Pick any burger on the menu! <br/>You might see a queue outside, but it's surely worth the wait.. Best time to visit is early in the afternoon.<br/>they have a sun screen lotion available at the counter for people waiting in the queue to avoid sun tan.. :p now that's very thoughtful.!

Big burgers! With tasty, fresh ingredients. Well priced. Worth it to say you've been there!

I saw this place crowded at all times. Everytime I wanted to try this place I saw a queue of about 70 ppl approx at all times..not exaggerating..go there n check it out yourself..finally I managed to grab a quick bite and loved it..fresh meat, bread n veggies.. if u r in Queenstown don't leave without eating here.. !! Yummm!!

We were in Queenstown for four days and each time we crossed Fergburger, we could hardly believe the number of people who would queue up outside. <br/>Yes, we queued up too! And it was one the best burger I had eaten in my lifetime. You can't leave Queenstown without trying the Fergburger!

I found this place out of sheer divine intervention. I was at Christchurch, shopping and start chatting with the guy over the counter. I casually mention about our trip to Queenstown and he highly recommends this place called Fergburger with a caveat – The waiting time is usually more than 30 mins. Somehow, the name sticks in my mind and the day we land at Queenstown, I am already hunting for it.<br/>And was that guy right, I could see a large group of people with white slips in their hand and a queue of about 20 people in front of me. I stand in the queue and scan through the menu. On checking with one of their servers, she recommended the “Mr. Big Stuff”. After waiting in line for about 20 mins, it was my turn to order. The server asked “Anything to go with the burger and I had just one reply “Only the good stuff!!”.<br/>I was told about the further 30 minute wait for my order, so I went along with my wife to buy some “normal” lunch for them. And sure enough, after 30 minutes, I got the burger and we quickly drove back to our hotel to enjoy it in peace.<br/><br/>About the burger –<br/>To my surprise the burger had two juicy patties. The beef patty was cooked to perfection – Not too greasy, not too rare. It was lightly spiced. The bacon was thick and juicy, perfectly complimenting the two patties. The onion, tomato and lettuce were typical and staple accomplice. The difference was in the Aioli which was tasting so much better than the regular mayonnaise and mustard topping. The added BBQ sauce gave an extra zing to the burger. Last but not the least, the Bun was pretty decent too. Nothing to brag about, but was still good enough to compliment the overall taste.<br/>DO NOT miss this place if you are anywhere around Queenstown.

The burgers here are fantastic. The only downside is the long queues which is a testament to the popularity of this place. However I was lucky enough to visit it twice during my trip late at night and didn't have to wait long for my order. The tropical swine and the big Al were huge and delicious, I didn't even need to order any sides each time I went because the burgers were big enough!
Charlee Brown
The chief wiggum is amazing. Dawn horn and sweet bambi are also delicious. Sweet sweet bambi...Shorter queues in the morning (before 11ish?) Grab a smoothie or ice coffee w a scoop of gelato from Mrs Fergs Gelateria before waiting in line for your burger.
Bigs.RLC
Fries were amazing, aioli was on point. We both ordered the classic with cheese and were disappointed. Shouldn't the classic be mind blowing so the rest of the menu can build on it? We were advised to go back and try something else, but 45 minutes? No thanks.<br/><br/>Staff are incredible and work an impressive assembly line.

Located right next to Mrs Ferg, this is another marvel from the Ferg family. On the first day of my visit to Queenstown i noticed a long queue outside this burger joint and i was really fascinated.I got in and waited there for 15mins and the wait was worth it.<br/>I tried the bombay chicken and it was deliciously delicious!!<br/>The chicken was well cooked, and very well seasoned, the bun wasn't very dry and had the perfect texture and thickness and was really soft but at the same time is also did not give up to all the marinates and sauces and stayed perfect until the last bite.<br/>Lastly i would want to thank the entire staff for being soo courteous and patient with their customers.<br/>You guys are killing it!!!
Abdullah Hamad
As what I said for Mrs Ferg, I'll say it for Fergburger. The most delicious burger. <br/><br/>I recommend "Bombay Chicken burger" and "The Fergburger".

After hearing about this place and being recommended to try it, my friends and I waited in line for about 5-10 mins to get our hands on a Ferg burger. The wait for the burger itself was a bit longer and took about 15-20 mins but it was definitely worth the wait. I ordered the Ferg Burger with Swiss cheese and the serving was pretty big. <br/>My friends ordered the onion rings and chips - these were also surprisingly good and it was great to see that they were actual onion rings too. <br/>I would say that their burgers are definitely worth the wait and the waiting system they have is actually very organised.

So eating at Fergburger is an experience - in our case, we got to wait in the long, long, LONG queue for a whole 45 minutes! However, we'd been warned beforehand so couldn't complain. Coming to the burgers, they are HUGE and very, very filling. So people with small appetites like mine will find their stomachs full just halfway through their burgers. We also ended up getting complimentary cookies from their bakery next door whilst we were waiting which was an amzing gesture! Also, the cookies were lip-smacking, so pray you also have to wait in the line in order to get your hands on those cookies! <br/>All in all, great burgers for an inexpensive price, an eventful wait and a great experience!
Sunakshi Chaudhary
Such a hype this place is. It's just crowd following crowd. I tried 2 burgers while my stay in Queenstown: Bombay Chicken and Little Lamby. I found them to be a bit different but not something worth waiting in long queues. <br/>Only one thing I won't regret I didn't go to Ferg even being there Queenstown.
Johnathon Atchley
The best burger I've ever had. The chips leave something to be desired, especially since the first time we went they forgot to give us them. The line could take 45 minutes but it's worth it.
A
The wait, for once, was worth it.<br/>GF roll tasted just as good as real roll.<br/>Pork belly burger was great, chief wigum burger Devine. Didn't order or need fries. HUGE burgers.<br/>Treat yourself and go next door for a coffee while you wait in queue. And don't tell anyone about the gelato - it can be our little secret (next time I'm getting the panacotta and nascapone fig).
Arpita Mandal
One of the most busy and bussy burger place in town.<br/><br/>Must say that each bite of the burger I purchased was worth it.<br/><br/>Definitely a must go place however spare around an hour to place and pick up your order...
Tanz
Always long queue most of the time every day!! I decided to call and guess what the waiting time was? 15 minutes only!!! SWEET AS :)<br/><br/>Walked to the place and saw these people waiting in the line and felt so sorry for them. Fries was cold but still crispy somehow, aioli was great!<br/><br/>Big Al was really BIG..can feed 2 people easily. It was quiet hard to eat big al just like normal burger. I would love to have plate, knife and fork to eat it. First bite was so good with yummy, juicy sauce. But once you reached the middle, you would be pretty full and the meat was kinda dry with not much sauce. But overall it was a good BIG burger.<br/><br/>Cock Cajun was nice with grilled chicken but I couldn't really taste cajun spices. However lemon yogurt sauce went really well with chicken and the whole burger.<br/><br/>This is my 2nd time here and I'm not sure if I want to have 3rd time. In my opinion, it's nothing much special about Fergburger apart from big portion. I don't know why people are so crazy about it this much?
Wendy Zhou
Heaps of people........craziness.... Burger is not really special😳😳😳...compare to shake'n'shack or burger on K'road...just be honest. However it's must to try experience in Queenstown I guess.
Melissa
Delicious, quality burgers, very efficient despite line of patrons out the door! Well worth the wait. Kudos for having sunscreen outside for the line, would be nice with a bit more shade and perhaps cool water
Leesah
Sadly my date with the Ferg ended in disaster and I won't be expecting a call for a second date anytime soon. It turns out I have two types of friends. The 'it's overrated' and the 'it's so good'. Should have listened to the former and dodged a bullet.<br/><br/>I had no intentions of joining the hype on my recent trip to Q-town but as luck would have it, I scored a parking spot directly across from the restaurant during dinner rush and there was barely 5 people waiting out front. What? Does this even happen?! <br/><br/>Despite ordering within 5 minutes of joining the queue, food took a good 15 minutes to arrive. Waiting was painful as there is limited shade available but a big bottle of sunscreen was provided, so there's no excuse for skin cancer on Ferg's watch. <br/><br/>We managed to score some seats inside the outlet which was nice (until people started to stand in front of us halfway through our meal telling us telepathically to leave). The burgers themselves were supercharged. I ordered the Chief Wiggum but couldn't manage more than two bites. The crackling on the pork was so salty I almost gagged. Traded it in for the bf's fergburger which was surprisingly bland. <br/><br/>According to the bf, Wiggum was also bland after you powered through the crackling. Neither of us finished our buns. Calamari followed its predecessors and was again bland and boring. There was no flavour to the crumb and the pieces were cut into depressing little triangles. Only saving grace was the wasabi Mayo, which was super moorish and luscious. Service is friendly, for the full 30 seconds of taking your order and collecting your money.
The Food Bandit
Gobsmackingly good!<br/><br/>We waited for about 40 mins just to get inside, and then we waited another 40 mins for the order to arrive. We weren't disappointed. The Bullseye was just what to Dr ordered. Juicy succulent delightfully seared fillet beef, with blue cheese melted all over it. The other bits: onions, lettuce, tomato all fresh and very tasty. Worth every minute of the wait. <br/><br/>The atmosphere is typical takeaway, with minimal seating inside. Great music mix, mainly 80's Rock. <br/><br/>The place is really busy, but the staff, while under significant stress, greeted us with a smile, thanked us for waiting, and wished us happy new year. Marvellous. <br/><br/>Really good guys. Join the queue, and feel the Fergburger love.

You cannot not go to Fergburger when in Queenstown! This burger joint only exists in this city and yes this is the ONLY branch.<br/><br/>They have some rather funky names for their burgers. Whilst a burger regardless of who's made it, doesn't taste much different it is a 'been there done that accomplishment' that needs to be ticked off your Queenstown bucket list.<br/><br/>Depending on when you go you might have a bit of a wait till you order and then subsequently get your burger but it's worth it. Their burgers are actually pretty good in my opinion.
Rachel
If you've been to Queenstown you've heard about Ferg Burger. Usually there is a long line trailing out the door, but luckily after a morning of canyon swinging we found in without a line. Beef burger and tofu burgers were good and huge in size. Chips good, but aioli a little plain. Although the good was good, definitely not worth the hour plus line out the door.
Mikaela Knight
Not as good as Grill'd. Had to try the famous Fergburger and made the strategic decision to visit at its quietest time, 3pm. Still took about 25-30mins to order and receive our two burgers. They were nice. Great sauces, fresh buns and pretty good quality meat but they weren't fabulous. And after such hype and such a long wait you do expect fabulous. I would recommend ditching the wait time for a hot, fresh and reasonably priced pie at Fergbaker! Maybe even follow it up with FergGelato.
Aniruddha Jaju
This has to be one of the best burgers I have ever had - to get Indian sauces and chutney which are better than those in India is a real achievement. The burgers are bug enough to last 2 meals too. And very reasonably priced.<br/><br/>The long queue outside the place reflects how terrific their burgers are!
Neha Gupta
Nom nom nom.. Yummyy .. Fergburger was on my must go list when I was on a trip to new Zealand. I went to check out this place the very day I reached Queenstown. There was a queue of almost an hour!! You wait and what you get is worth the wait. They were serving us cookies while we stood in the queue. Their burgers are king sized and too much for one person with an average appetite! I tried the bun Patty falafel since that's the only vegetarian variety on the menu. I loved the taste. The place is open for almost the entire day and closed for about 2 hours for maintainence. It's always swarming with people and was happening enough to make me come here twice. Loved it ! Shubham Gupta

Ferg is a staple in the Queenstown experience. Serving up delicious and wholesome burgers, this is one to tick off the burger bucket list. <br/><br/>My new favourite is the Chief Wiggum - pork belly with crispy crackling and a hash brown inside a fresh bun with lettuce, tomato, red onion, aioli and apricot flavoured seeded mustard. A few of my favourite things packed into one big burger of goodness. <br/><br/>You also can't go wrong with the classic Fergburger with added Brie or the Sweet Bambi with venison. Fergs has burgers down pat - the ratio of bread, meat, sauce and veggies is just right and it's so good that you will want to finish one whole burger to yourself even though it is pretty big. Their meat patties are always juicy, bursting with flavour and grilled to perfection. <br/><br/>Expect to wait 45 mins to an hour in peak times - lunch or dinner. They don't accept phone orders during that time. Definitely worth the wait! The fries with aioli are pretty good too, that is if you still have room.

I had heard about Fergburger and decided to try the day we arrived in Queenstown. I could not believe the wait to order.<br/>Just go, queue, talk to The people In The queue And then eat, eat And eat...<br/>As vegetarians we had just one option - bun laden with a falafel patty - its huge!<br/>Due to the portion, it was a bit challenging to try and bite into the burger, but totally enjoyable.
Lubbly Jubbly
Quite usual to have to wait for your order but it is worth it. The variety is really good and the quality is superb. <br/><br/>We had burgers around 1pm and they are so huge we didn't even bother having dinner that night!<br/><br/>Just go

You'll find a long queue, and by long I mean 'really long' at the shot over street,,and be sure where it's headed.. Fergburger..!! Initially I was ''what the fuss...'' Is all about,, but the queue was justified when I managed to find a way in, late night,, and taste the madness.. Huge burger served with different condiments of choice. 'As good as it gets'<br/>in taste and 'as big as it gets' for your appetite. 😋

Just one vegetarian burger in town in shop but huge, like really humongous and the best Berger as well !! A Must try when here in Queenstown.
Nuanyun Feng
Got the big al burger, which truly amazed us with the first bite! The creamy cheese and egg emerging into the beef hamburger steaks, along with the smell of bacon, did prove you why it is that popular.
FurryBrownGuy
We decided to join the long queue for a Ferg burger as it suggested they worth the wait. It did not disappoint. I ordered a classic Ferg burger with cheese and it was and still is the best burger I've ever had. We now go back every time we are on Queenstown.
Adeline
Probably the best burger in NZ- i had the bombay chicken and the flavours were delicious. Very fresh and flavourful. Cant wait to have another one tomorrow before jumping on the plane.

Can't believe this place is still so popular after all these years! Amazing guys!! It is a must try when you are in Queenstown. The burger is huuuuuge! The price is reasonable. Chips & aioli delish! The part that I didn't really understand was having a merchandise counter at the same counter as you place your burger order. It really delays the queue and having to stand behind an undecisive person was rather disturbing. She couldn't decide what colour 'Ferbgurger T-Shirt' she wanted. Meanwhile the people behind her were queueing waiting for her to make a decision on a t-shirt not burger. Haha. Oh well...burger was nice and I'm grateful & happy. Thanks guys!

The place is a stress buster. With the place being run by youngsters and youngsters only, it was a very hustling and bustling place. <br/><br/>Recommended on all travel websites, all magazines, the hype was huge about this place. Yes, the exteriors might disappoint you. And so might the interiors! But their food definitely won't! They have a very simple look about it. But the place is bursting with life. <br/><br/>Their burgers are to die for as well. We ordered the Bombay Chicken burger and it was a delight! <br/>The sauces, the juicy succulent chicken pattie in the middle, the bun. It was all the way it was supposed to be. Perfect. <br/><br/>Glad I could visit this place. <br/><br/>Ferg loves you. Guess what Ferg? <br/><br/>I love you too!!! <br/><br/>
FoodMeUpScotty
While we were skiing the wonderful mountains in Wanaka, New Zealand, we'd been hearing of a near mythical place to eat up the road in Queenstown.  I'd pretty much had every day planned for food, but after hearing about a little place called Fergburger, I had to satisfy my burger craving and get along to check it out.
Chatnoirmiaow
One of the best burgers I’ve had! Serving size was huge and packed with plenty of goodness – the meat patty was juicy, the lettuce was so sweet and the sauce was the highlight for me. I had the regular beef burger with cheddar. I was intimidated by the queue but the wait was not too bad – about 10-15 minutes. A must try when in Queenstown.
Kiss And Eat Up
Well worth a visit if you are visiting Queenstown & looking to sink your teeth into a decent burger & fries combo. Yes you will have to wait but given they cook everything to order , limited burger eateries in the area and popularity this makes total sense. The staff here are friendly and efficient and it was a short 5 min wait which was perfect when browsing through the extensive menu. The bambi burger was a winner filled with a perfectly cooked venison pattie in a crunchy ( but soft) bun accompanied with a sweet tangy sauce. The fries and onion rings were a knockout , golden , crunchy and seasoned beautifully. The original Fergburger was moreish with a juicy beef patty & melted cheese cooked perfectly on the grill. I loved the variety of the menu with an assortment of chicken, fish & vegetarian burgers including kids burgers, something for everyone. A good beer, wine and non alcoholic menu too. They do the basics of a good hamburger really well which made them a stand out for me.
Kiwi888
A legend in Queenstown. Was a great place to be at 4am when the bars chucked everyone out.<br/><br/>Burgers are good, not the magical, mystical burgers of legend however. Still, if in Queenstown, you probably should check them out.
Caroline
Always came back to buy their burgers everytime I came. It has probably my 6th time having their burgers hahaha... Friendly service, always busy and 30mins waiting time for food but definitely totally worth it!♡
Lyda Osorio
Amazing burguer. Lots of people waiting. You order and you need to wait around 15 min, but totally worth it. Great variety and nice combination of flavours
Josh Law
Came here at about 3am last night. Impressive it is still open. Lassy threw up on the benches outside. Not exactly the best atmosphere to eat but not their fault. I had the venison burger. The meat was nice but the burger was pretty tasteless. Quite disappointing. will definitely try this place again before i leave to see if this was a one off.
Patrick Clarke
Super popular but pretty reasonable waits. Good choice for burgers, I went fur burger with cheese. Was pretty tasty but coulda used some beetroot (didn't see an option to add it). Definatly best value in town.
Troy Mortleman
Super popular burger place in downtown Queenstown. Heaps of choices. I went for the chicken and bacon burger. The burgers are massive - struggled to get through it. Really tasty though. Great spot but be prepared for a wait. Worth it.
Mike O'Brien
Stunning.... There in Feb & decided the line too long... Which it is from open to close sadly... LOL So in Nov we tried nice and early. Still a fair line... at 10AM!!! But so worth the wait. Best Burgers anywhere... I had the double Ferg with Blue Cheese... Meat and other fillings supremely fresh. Not cheap... But well worth it!!
Love The Experience, Love The Brand.
Arrived in sunny QT with the sole idea to have that ferg burger experience. True to its reputation, epic and not delicate. I had the double blue cheese ferg. Heavy and juice on the blue, lots of meat and a 15 min wait. It was 2pm in the afternoon so thought it could be quieter. Washed down with a beer, the experience was very positive and will come back. No way a taste sensation but a must when coming to QT.
Dish4Nish
If you haven't been to Fergburger then you've probably not been to Queenstown. That's the label that followed me after a visit many years ago and this time around it was the first stop straight from the airport. Always a line (unless you're an early riser) but moves quickly and it's worth it from the smiles of everyone sitting inside and out posing for selfies with the burger. Hard to fault the setup, and with the bakery next door a coffee goes down well while waiting. The quality is great so when in Queenstown, just go!
Food Mm
Quite simply the best burger joint in New Zealand.  It would have earned 5 stars but sometimes the lines are huge and it takes a long time to get a burger!  Chips are awesome too, but be prepared to wait.  Great value for money in a town that is very expensive.  We always grab a burger when we come to town.
RONniE
What can I say? I heard about the hype regarding having a Ferburger while in Queenstown. I tried it and I loved it! <br/>The place is so busy you must set minimum 35mins plus from the time you place the order till when you receive it. Everytime of the day I drove past the queue was outside the door but the fact is that the till is right at the door so it explains why the line is always out 😊. But it is definitely worth the wait for a first timer. I will definitely go back next time.<br/><br/>Warning for the ones with little appetites, that their burgers can knock you out! They are seriously huge. <br/><br/>Highly recommended!!
May
Long queues for this one due to its popularity but I'll still recommend it for first timers. Large portion and fresh juicy beef patties alongside cheese and veg. Fries and onion rings were a hit for us too, comes with two types of sauces.
Food Adventures With AnnaJ
Being such a famous place and peak time for burgers, we expected a much longer wait than we had. The staff had the joint pretty well run considering the volume of people they were pumping through. Everything on the menu looked great and was reasonably priced considering size and quality. We had the fish, chicken with bacon and avo, and the double beef. Each was so fresh and the protein so well cooked. The small let down for me was the lack of seating in the place but this was a small price to pay for exceptional burgers
Reality
Does this place even need to be reviewed? THE best burger I've had in my entire life. THE most well known food joint in Queenstown. I had the original Fergburger with cheddar and I had to have another go at it in my 7 days in Queenstown before I left. It's hard to describe the flavours but it is absolutely delicious. I'd recommend coming in between lunch and dinner to avoid the very long queues. Highly recommended! Staff were really really cool too. Apparently the owner still lives in Queenstown...need I say more?
Razelle Icaro
This was the first stop of my trip since I've heard a lot of good feedback for this place. It definitely did not disappoint! For only $11, the Fergburger probably had one of the tasties patties and the most scrumptious sauces. I guess it is a tourist destination for a reason! Do not go to Queenstown without trying the Fergburger!
Soni
Even though they have two options for vegetarians, it will be one of the best burgers you've ever eaten. The size of the burger is OVERWHELMING. Awesome burger, perfect price. Not a dine in kind of place on a Friday night though... Too many drunks.
Sean
Long queue and waiting time for the food. The burger was good but wouldn't queue another 20 mins for it. Okay priced considering the area (tourist central). I had a double with cheddar and bacon as I said was ok but we also had the pork belly which was very good so that is worth the wait. Some outside seating and a few tables inside.
Chasing A Plate
...It would be sacrilegious to leave Queenstown without trying a Fergburger. This place has been serving old-school style burgers for the past 14 years and the lines down Shotover Street are testament to their popularity. So much that Fergburger are open 21 hours a day. The Fergburger with cheese is a classic, otherwise you might be tempted by the Wild Bambi featuring Fiordland deer or the Codfather, packed with golden beer-battered pieces of blue cod...
Sarena & Eashvar Chhotu
BRILLIANT !!! I've never seen a queue half way around the block for food !! Especially a burger. Luckily we called and ordered ;)<br/>We had the Cockadoodle oink - best burger I've ever had.<br/>So fresh and omg the size !!! It was literally almost the size of my face !! The burger defeated me and sadly I couldn't finish it all. Will totally be back !!<br/>
Mat Chantler
Nice burgers but not worth queuing for. <br/>This review needs to be 140 characters long, its a burger joint how can i write a 140 character review! impossible.
Tanushree Sharma
Best burgers ever. Yes the queues are long but it's worth it. First place to visit every time I go to ZQN. Well done fergburger you are the best
Shelly
We had to come check this place out because not one person you meet in Queenstown wont bring this up in a conversation! We ordered after waiting in that crazy line, the staff were so lively and fun, they were like machines because they get so busy! The burgers were huge! We got takeaway and ate them in our loft across the street. My burger was juicy and delicious! Will be visiting next time im in town!
Shaun Lott
An institution, with a giant standing line, seemingly at all hours. I can't think of another place where the street has been modified to accommodate the burger bar queue... So, were the burgers worth it? Well, I'd have to say probably yes. The basic Ferg was well put together, but the chicken and bacon burger was superb. The place runs like a well-oiled machine, but if you want food without the queue, I'd suggest you step next door to the bakery.
Dev F
Superb line of burgers at an amazing value! Queuing up at Ferg's as soon as you enter the town must now be a bigger ritual than bungy jumping or skiing - and it doesn't cost a bomb. <br/><br/>Tip: If waiting is not your strength, you can always place your order over the phone. Then, you can just walk up to the side window, past the salivating crowds, collect your burger and walk away like a boss.
Foodnique
Yep you have to try it if your in Queenstown. Line-up and dig in. It took us a few nights to build up to the line up and order anxiety but it wasn't that bad, they get through the orders pretty quick considering how busy it is.<br/>It's not just hype, they make a decent and very large burger. Not the best by global standards but very good none the less, like a better big brother to a fish and chip (shop) burger, with a bit more too it. <br/>I'd say your more there for the vibe and the amazement or amusement (both).<br/>We sat next to a lady who looked dwarfed by her burger and chips, i think it took her an hour to eat it...we were long gone by then.<br/>The interior is cool of what you can see of it, because it's lined with human wallpaper all waiting for or diggin' into their massive burgers. They have some very expensive merch, but probably a good momento to get before you head back to your corner of the world.
Donna&Shane
Like everyone else that comes to Queenstown we had to try the burgers... We phoned our order through so we didn't have to wait as long.... Great selection ... BIG burgers that are cooked/made well with fresh ingredients ... Yum... Definately a must to try...

Another monster favorite of mine. Been here several times and the queue never gets short of people. Their handmade burgers are to die for and I consider this joint to be one of the best in the world. <br/><br/>I always go with what's staple on the menu - Fergburger with cheese. It was total heaven, huge, and super yummy. Served with love and perfection. No burger can come close to Ferg's (and Gone Burgers). Missing it already.<br/><br/>

Amazing burgers you never wanna stop eating them , they are so delicious , they look absolutely stunning with fresh ingredients and nice packaging ♥️♥️🇳🇿

Burgers are huge and completely delicious. The bread rolls are so tasty, the burger oozes flavour and the relish completes the taste sensation. The queue is worth the wait especially since they give you tasters from fergbakery while you wait.

What an empire Fergburger has become!<br/>This is one of the go to local spots, world famous in Queenstown.<br/><br/>The burgers are a whole meal in themselves and they are all reasonably priced too, not changing too much in price since over the past 5 years, with small variations.<br/><br/>A great variety of burgers await you here, for the meat lover to the vego conscious, everyone walks away smiling.<br/><br/>The lines of awaiting burger hungry patrons can be quite a shock.<br/><br/>Best Tip: Order your burger over the phone and collect from the side window in about 15 minutes, saves you having to cue in the cold.<br/><br/>Best Bite: Southern Swine Burger

Perfect. Nearly bought a hoodie but that was $80 so maybe when I'm rich. Service is great and burgers are best in the world. Only thing they need to address is the peak hour waiting times. Which are partially fixed by having fergbaker and ferggelato next to the line!
Always Choose Pizza
Knocked this Queenstown prerequisite off early. These burgers are monsters, classic old school none of that brioche business over here. The chief wiggum had fat pork belly with mustard, unconventional but a good time

Love coming here - have been here on four different holidays. Always packed, always good, great team, great mood. <br/>Worth it. <br/><br/>I would recommend the holier than thou tofu burger
Alysha Bower
My friend and I went here for brunch after a big night out the night before. It was one of the best burgers I have ever had! We shared the Mr Big Stuff and I'm glad we did because it is HUGE! The staff are really friendly and nice. Will definitely be coming back!
Pop Culture Food
Seriously tasty beef patties, but kinda overrated. Don't get me wrong, the ability to get a burger topped with brie cheese is sensational, but combine the wait time, the crowded/rush atmosphere and the overall 'good' taste of the burger, you might be better off heading over to Devil Burgers.<br/><br/>I can however give a rave review on the amazing Ferg Hot Chocolate. This is sold at the next door Fergbaker/gelato and despite being a little pricey (at something around $6-$7), it's smooth and bold nature is definitely worth a try.
Michal Jefferson
Well worth the wait! <br/>We waiting in line for approx 15 minutes and then another 10 minutes for our food. But it was so worth it! Best burger ever!
La Petite Bobo
This is seriously the best burgers I've ever eaten in my life! If I hadn't waited 20 minutes for my burger it would have been 5/5 but considering how bloody delicious they were, I completely understood the demand. I was so satisfied I even went back for a brekkie burger. I will definitely back to NZ just for Fergburger!
ItsTrueFatKidsLoveFood
So finally decided to wait in line for a burger. After 5 Min in line we ordered and the food came out 15 minutes later.<br/><br/>I got the Mr Big Stuff burger. I thought it tasted good, but nothing special. Have had burgers like this at multiple places.<br/><br/>What really let the meal down was the onion rings and calamari. The calamari was ok, but the onion rings were not good. We didn't even finish them.<br/><br/>Don't believe the hype. Me and my friends all preferred Devil Burger.
Nick Stuhlmann
Absolutely delicious. Worth every second in line. Had the chief wiggum and loved. Big burgers, value for money. Chips were well cooked too. Will definitely recommend this to people
Tash Rawlinson
One of the most famous burger places in New Zealand and it definitely lived up to its's reputation! I got the Cajun chicken and my friend got the pork belly. Where mine was delicious it was nothing special but my friend's was really nice! The staff were nice and got through their line very quickly considering they had cues out the door. Also got a little wink for the waiter 😜. If you are in Queenstown, fergburger is a must do!
A Culinary Affair
The back story : Fergburger. Everyone knows a Fergburger. With a simple two words (or is it one?) - images of big burgers filled with overflowing ingredients on a backdrop of The Remarkables come to mind. Having been caught up in this Fergburger rave on precious Queenstown visits - including having Fergburger at 2am after a big night to starting with a Fergburger for breakfast - I was keen to revisit this burger joint to satisfy my Ferg cravings.<br/><br/>Setting: I don't think I have ever seen the actual entrance to Ferg since every time I pass it, there are swarms of people outside - on the wooden seats by the pavement merrily eating their Fergs to the queues that forever seem to be lining out the entrance. The way to find where Fergburger is is to look for a crowd of people outside a corner shop - that is where Fergburger is located. Inside the crowd is just as packed - and with only three long tables on the side, you're much better off placing your order, logging into their website where you can conveniently track your burger (see screenshot photo here) and coming back to pick up when it's ready. The estimated wait time is pretty spot on too - their receipt gives you an approximate wait time (mine was 10-15 minutes, and the burger came out in 13 minutes).<br/><br/>Food: I've had Fergburger at least 3 times now and can say it does serve really great burgers, both in terms of portion sizes (the burgers are big - potentially equal to 2 to 3 McDonald cheeseburgers ) and freshness of the ingredients. With 21 burger choices including 2 vegetarian options, priced reasonably from $10 to $17.50, the hardest part is choosing which burger. I have had the Cock Cajun and Cockadoodle Oink before - and have been pleased with the succulent tender chicken fillings and tasty accompanying sauces trapped between crispy buns. Definitely one of the better chicken burgers I've had. This time I decided to venture to the beef side going for the Mr Big Stuff (1/2 lb of beef with cheddar cheese, bacon, bbq sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion and aioli. This time though I have to admit I was somewhat disappointed with the flavour. Although the beef patties were definitely great value and good quality beef (two patties in the bun) - I found there wasn't enough taste or flavour. This could be due to the large amount of beef in the burger relative to the cheese and aioli sauce; there definitely did not seem to be enough cheese for the amount of beef in the burger. All in all a bit disappointed this time with the burger but previous visits haul up the rating from a 3.5 to a 4.<br/><br/>Occasion : Anytime when you're wanting a gourmet burger - and its round-the-clock hours reflect this anytime with it opening into the wee hours of the morning (5.30am on Saturdays !)<br/><br/>Revisit potential : 9/10

Very Long Queue , unseen and unbelievable.<br/>Three days of deciding against eating there. Jumped in . HOLIER THAN THOU , is the only vegetarian burger and it is sumptuous , wholesome meal. Have it and you will NOD in Acceptance, Long Queue is justified!

I have fond memories of ferg burger. Best burgers I've had to this day, just everything works, the flavour combos, the bread, the chips, even the tiny little shop. You can tell there's a lot of love in this place, I think it makes it more magical knowing everyone that's eating here loves fergburger (or at least you hope they do). They are a must visit when in QT!

Just like Fergbaker, never ever miss an opportunity to try Fergburger! I have been to Queenstown twice, and I have come to Fergburger both times. I haven't tried all the burgers in New Zealand, but this is coming first so far! <br/><br/>The only reason why this rating isn't a 5, is that the waiting time is very long. We were in line for about fifteen minutes, and then our meals took an extra half an hour wait afterwards. Fergburger is crazy busy, and it is so difficult to get seats here! We managed the first year but this time, we had to find a seat elsewhere. We ate by the lake front and had a beautiful view, so that wasn't so bad. <br/><br/>I have tried a chicken burger and this year I decided to be a bit adventurous and order the venison burger! It was different indeed, and came with a plum chutney, making it taste sweet. My burger was still good, though I probably prefer the savoury burgers more! The two times I have come to Fergburger, we have tried a lot of burgers between us! The pork belly, sweet bambi, mr big stuff, double ferg with cheese, cock cajun... All of us enjoyed our burgers here. <br/><br/>Definitely recommend trying Fergburger when you're in Queenstown!
Raghav Bhalla
The best burger I have ever eaten....it so soft and tender and you need both your hands to eat this burger. A burger itself is a full fledged meal. Your Queenstown trip is incomplete without having this burger.
Kishore Mitra
When some people told me that FergBurger does the best burger in New Zealand, I took that with copious amounts of salt. Have been burnt a few times before with reviews like this. So when we were in Queenstown waiting for the van to take us to the starting point of the Routeburn trek, we decided to try this so called Ferg-burger. The wait time was quite a bit longer than your usual burger related wait. But when we got it, it was huge and it was bloody fantastic! Don't know if its the best burger in the country but it cannot be too far from being that. So boys and girls, if you are in Queenstown and don't mind a bit of wait and are hungry, try one of their famous burgers. This one is not just hype for a change. Highly recommended.  Food 5/5, Service 4.5/5, Price 4/5

Dont leave queenstown if you have not tried furberger! But too many people lining inside and outside the restaurant. I had to wait 1 hr for my 2 burgers.
Captain Underpants
Really don't see what the fuss is about...<br/><br/>The queues are ridiculous, burgers overpriced, and the aioli overpowers everything. Many will say Ferg is a Queenstown institution, personally I'm not a fan
Kathmandu Eater
This is an absolute must go in Queenstown. You cannot leave Queenstown without trying a Ferg burger. To leave Queenstown without taking a bite of a Ferg burger is criminal.<br/>I had the Ferg with Cheese and the Little Lamby. Hands down the best burgers I've ever had. The meat patties with the sauces are so flavorsome. <br/>The buns are freshly baked at the Ferg Baker next door and served less than 1 hour after they've come out of the oven. I must say, super freshly baked buns makes a super difference.<br/>My only complaint is during lunch times, the queues can get ridiculously long (30+ people) and you have to wait a good half hour to get your burgers. It would also be nice to have more seating area inside the place for dining in.
Jim Lu
Great value for the food delivered. Wasn't as nice as I expected but still pretty good. I had the southern swine could only just finish it, very filling. The double ferg was pretty good as well but wasn't able to finish it. Overall great value for the food. I wouldn't say it's over rated However also wasn't as good as I would've expected.

I knew that it would be almost compulsory to try out Fergburger during our trip to Queenstown. I have to admit that I was slightly concerned about the waiting time, lucky we were on a chilled holiday so that took off the time pressure. We went around 2pm for lunch on Saturday afternoon, and surprisingly only had to wait 15 minutes all up (which is actually faster than some waits I've had at places like Burger Fuel, Better Burger!). I guess they have gotten their staffing levels down pretty well which is awesome. The place was packed, however we managed to grab seats by the bar table overlooking the kitchen (which to me is often one of the best seats in the house) and watch the action. I wasn't very hungry but felt like I had to order a substantial burger, so I went with the BIG AL. That is one massive burger (ended up only eating half and taking the other half away) !! I could not eat it as a whole burger simply because it was too tall with the double patty and double egg. But it was sooo good, the eggs were cooked to perfection with runny yolks that complemented the rest of the burger so well. Would totally recommend this burger. I also tried the SWEET BAMBI but to me it tasted quite average.
Joshua Tey
Little long wait if you're here during the day. Come over in the morning and there's not many ppl and you get to eat the Bun Laden and funny stuff. I got the sweet Bambi and it's nice too :)
Dragon
Every time we arrive in Queenstown fergburger is the first place we go to eat. <br/>The place is packed full and the line is always a 15 minutes long.<br/>Worth the wait, the burger is so good better than any gourmet burger chains around NZ. I always go back to see if this still holds true and every time its a yes, It is the best.
Ellie
I had their Tropical Swine in the weekend and it was absolutely delicious. It was only a 15 mins wait and definitely worth it. The patty was juicy, vegetables and pineapple were fresh, aioli sauce was yummy. I'm definitely coming back.
Tetsuk
Went there around 9am? Otherwise you have to wait but the burger is so good. Worth waiting! If I go to NewZealand next time I will try again.
FOODFANATICJIMMY
BEST burger joint in NZ by FAR!!!! An attraction that makes me proud to be kiwi. Went to Queenstown on vacation and during the 2 nights stay..the lines were LONG EVERY SINGLE time we went past the shop. It is just INSANE. The pork belly burger is AMAZING. A little bit salty in my opinion, but the freshness of the ingredients and portion size makes up for everything. They literally have roughly 9-12 workers in that small space, working in different stations. Wish they made a branch in Auckland but don't see it happening soon. Looking forward to going back soon!!
Lindajing
Lives up to all the hype. Great burgers and decent service despite the fact it's constantly packed full of people. Go eat the Chief Wiggum, you won't regret it.
Johnine @ HaloHaloAtbp
Fergburger is undoubtedly a destination itself. Don't make a mistake of not visiting AT LEAST ONCE if you're in Queenstown.<br/><br/>There was a line when we first visited around 1pm, it was a weekday. It was a bit disorienting with the crowd waiting outside and just the general traffic of people moving around but we were quickly ushered in by one of their staff. I told the lady at the till that it was our first time there and asked for recommendations. I ended up getting the Southern Swine ($12.50) and onion rings ($5.50), my partner got the Double Ferg ($15.50) with blue cheese and chips ($4.50). The ordering process is simple, order and pay at the till, wait for your number to show up on the screen, then pick up your meal from the designated staff at the counter.<br/><br/>There's a general consensus about Fergburger as per the internet. FIRST: Great burgers, SECOND: Long lines. The latter is not entirely true. Yes, there will be a line most of the time but not always. There wasn't a line the second time we visited but that's probably because it was at 11pm. Nonetheless, that gives you proof that you don't always have to line-up to get a burger, you just have to adjust the timing of your craving, haha. Also, we only had to wait around 15 minutes to get our burgers during the 1pm rush. Hence, the reviews saying you have to wait half an hour to an hour for your meal, again, aren't always true.<br/><br/>We were lucky to get seating at the bar which allowed us to see how the kitchen worked like a well oiled machine. They have an open kitchen but the place has very good ventilation as we never once smelled of grilled burgers. From the bar you can clearly see the grill and you can glimpse the conveyor belt of hands preparing the burger.<br/><br/>I heard somebody say "Holy shit, that's a big burger! We should have just shared one!" while waiting for our meal. They definitely had huge burgers enough to keep a petite girl full for the rest of the afternoon. My partner was able to finish his but I had to takeaway a little less than half of mine.<br/><br/>I cannot remember eating any burger better than those I've eaten at Fergburger. The patties were nice and juicy, the toppings were fresh, and the bun was superb.<br/><br/>Out of the four days we were in Queenstown, we ate at Fergburger twice. Just twice. It would have been more if we were not too conscious about our health, and looking back I wish we wouldn't have been, the calories and the cholesterol are so worth it. The second time we went we shared a Mr Big Stuff ($16.00), onion rings ($5.50), and a local brand of ginger beer. The staff were very much happy to slice the burger in half for us.<br/><br/>Out of the three burgers I've tried the Southern Swine was the best in my opinion, I guess it's because it has avocado, aioli, and tomato relish. You have other options for your protein, there's pork, chicken, fish, and there's even a vegetarian option. Not in the mood for burger or just craving for a snack? Get the onion rings to go. Their onion rings are one of the best I've had, the onions get quickly fried on their own to improve their natural sweetness then deep fried. It comes with a generous tub of aioli as well.

Just another stella review to add to the already near perfect rating. I had the Mr Big Stuff burger & my Wife the the Tropical Swine burger. Both were amazing! The beef patty is to die for! The wait wasn't too long & the staff were super friendly & helpful. We'll be back!
Cheyneismyhero
Fern Burger is a Queenstown institution for a reason. Get in early and order a Mr Big Stuff, or a Ferg burger if you are feeling traditional, and you won't be disappointed
Cindy Ong
My husband made his way to queue for an hour to get Fergburger twice during our 3 nights stay in Queenstown! And he said he misses Feegburger and will go back for it soon! <br/>They have beef, pork, fish, chicken burgers as big as our face size. The combination of sauce and veggies make the burgers taste good. <br/>Recommend to queue at around 10pm after the usual queue was cleared up a bit. <br/>The restaurant open 21 hours and you can always drop by to grab one provides you have an hour to queue.<br/>If you don't know where is Fergburger no worry, just look for a shop with super long queue in front of it. You sure will not get a wrong one...
Tozanita
Our burgers looked really appetising and the vegetables inside looked fresh. The shopfront itself was also not too bad either (there isn’t much seating though so during busy hours, you’re better off getting take away)...
HERcurioMAJESTY
I don’t even have to tell you where to find Fergburger. Fergburger finds you. Pilgrims flock here, day and night, for these big, juicy, hearty burgers. Not sure what to get? You’d never go wrong with a ‘ Fergburger ‘ (prime NZ beef, lettuce, tomato, red onions, aioli & tomato relish), NZ$11. If you have the stomach for it  (or, have a food sharing buddy), go the ‘ Big Al ‘ (double serving of prime NZ beef, lashings of bacon, a whole lot of cheese, 2 eggs, beetroot, lettuce, tomato, red onion, relish & a big wad of aioli), NZ$17.50. Burgers for breakfast? Why not! I shared a ‘ Dawn Horn ‘ with a friend one morning and absolutely adored it (American streaky bacon, egg, hash brown, cheddar cheese, avocado, lettuce, tomato, red onion, beetroot, tomato relish & Ferg’s tarragon mayonnaise), NZ$12.50. Fergburger is no doubt the iconic eatery in Queenstown, proudly and cheerfully serving you the ultimate comfort food from 8:30am to 5am every day. Yes, that’s right, Fergburger is open 21.5hours

The Southern Swine burger is one of their most popular burger. For the one's who enjoy Chicken, their Cajun chicken burger is pretty good.
Wander Wonder Wonton
Holy mother of burgers. A bunch of people recommended Fergburger in Queenstown to me (thanks Carso) and it was all over the #Queenstown tag in Instagram so we thought we would give it a try. Thank God we did. I had a Southern Swine burger. NZ Angus meat patty, tomato, lettuce, avo, aioli and relish. My goodness. Never in your life have you had such a delicious burger. Ru had the Bun Laden (falafel) and Dave had the Cock Cajun, both received rave reviews. We even considered going back again the next night! We also tried the Fergbakery. I still wish I tried the lamb and kumara pie but we chose a large range of desserts. I chose the choc raspberry cake, Ru had two tarts and Dave had, choc raspberry cake, a caramel eclair, a choc eclair and a vanilla flan. And they say it’s women who have a sweet tooth! I couldn’t eat much of the cake, it was very rich and while scrumptious, I was already full. Their pies will be on my mind until I get to try one on my next visit!
Excuse Me Waiter
As much as I love Fergburger, I think I prefer the newly opened Fergbaker. I’m a sucker for baked goods and I can get a lot more variety in one meal before I am stuffed full. These two outlets are a must visit for anyone heading to Queenstown, and I pray that they expand to Sydney soon! As the motto says ‘In Ferg we trust’, we definitely can trust them to serve up delicious food for hungry tourists.

Shout-out to Ferburger, our fave burger place in Queenstown, New Zealand as pictured in the featured photo for this post.
Heneedsfood
It all sounded great on paper and looked decent enough, but my sweet bambi (12.5) wasn’t cracked up to what I was hoping it would be.
Andrew Turner
We'd heard good things about Fergburger and it was rated the top eatery in the South Island by urbanspoon, so as we were in Queenstown for lunch, we thought we'd give it a try... There were queue's outside but everything seemed to be moving pretty quickly.
Davey Schilling
Claimed to have the best burgers in the world. I have tested a lot of different burgers and this is totally true! The texture is outstanding, the taste of the burger is very pure and really good! The balance overall is formidable. I have had the Fergburger with cheese, the Little Lamby, the Cock Cajun and the Sweet Bambi. All were very tasty, although the Bambi did not taste too venisony. I would recommend everyone to go here, because no burger will ever taste better, while even the price is not that bad!
Bunny On A Pushbike
Bunny on a Pushbike approves!. Amazing burger! Well worth the moderate wait. The only thing that might improve it would be some bunny friendly alternatives like an all lettuce burger with extra carrots. Other that that, fantastic burgers!
Becky.khoo
Its all hype for 'just another burger'. The queues are long towards the evenings so if you absolutely want to try this go during the day i. e. before noon. <br/>Ordered a big al just to try the works.. but was not surprised at all. Burger tasted just like any other restaurant burger. <br/>Staff were friendly and managed to control the ever eager customers. Tried it once and would not spend 40mins for another.
Raja Damanik
Is it possible for a delivery service to Indonesia?<br/>I need to find a substitute for you but I know I won't be able.<br/>I really wish I can have this burger again at least once more in my life.<br/>Definitely will come back to Queenstown for travelling and obviously, this burger.

Long lines. Yummy Burgers worth waiting for but catch an late lunch or early dinner crowd less lines. It is worth trying it out!

Lives up to the hype!!

Now I've had a lot of things in my mouth over the years.... Ferg burger is by far the best!!<br/>Words can't describe the love I have for this place and the burgers the good people provide...but here are three I think are fitting <br/>1. Arousing<br/>2. Mouthwatering<br/>3. Moist <br/><br/>If you don't like this place you have serious issues. The wait can be long and grueling but my friends,it is worth it. Here's a tip call up and order before you head in and avoid the lines.

One of the best things i have ever eaten. if you are going to new zealand you must make it priority to visit this spot in queenstown. i ate 5 in 3 days. unique burger creations and alternatives to beef

Simply the best burger...massive line up 20 min wait... Was truly worth it.. Loved it in my top 5 burger places..

A must do when visiting Queenstown. This is a must-do when visiting Queenstown so you know what the fuss is about. This place is easy to find, just look for a shop where there is a queue regardless time of the day. <br/>Despite the crowd, the service is actually quite good and polite. Count yourself lucky if you can find a seat inside, otherwise just get a takeaway and enjoy the burger in the park or lake foreshore.<br/>The burgers are actually very nice. Meat patty is flavoursome and juicy. They contain fresh ingredients and the buns are also quite nicely baked.
Lane Thornton
Friends had told us about the Ferg and after watching long out-the-door queues for days we decided to have a crack today for lunch. Yes, it is super busy but the slick service makes it a well-run machine and the 15-20 minute wait for our burgers wasn't onerous. We weren't disappointed either - huge tasty burgers and fries to whet the biggest appetite. You'll never go hungry here.
Wilsonwilson
It's not a trip to Queenstown without Fergburger. Lots of Fergburger.. It's all been said, and it's all been reinforced by the constant queues out the door. These are the best burgers (and arguably the best food) in Queenstown. Fresh, huge and really flavoursome burgers that are backed up by a very extensive menu with lots of variety (even for vegos). I never strayed from the beef burgers on offer because, frankly, they were too good to warrant trying anything else. And did I mention they serve cheap drinks?<br/><br/>It's best to avoid the peak times to minimise the wait.<br/><br/>Aside from the food, the service is surprisingly good for a place like this. The staff are always friendly and love a chat, and they know how to make the lines flow as quickly as possible. The tills went down on one of our visits and the staff handed out free chips to the people in the queue to tide over our hunger, which I thought was a very nice gesture.
Plap
Just great burgers. I will keep this simple. There is not a better burger in Queenstown. Do you like burgers? Go eat one here.
Kelly Loudovaris
FERGALICIOUS. We've been in Queenstown for four days and admired from a far the length of queues for this place!<br/>We were lucky enough to score a seat in-side on such a chilly evening. The burgers were amazing. I had the Crocadoodle Doo (No bacon, with beetroot) and my fiancé had the Bullseye. Best burgers we've ever had. Will be back again before we go.<br/>To the 4% of people who dislike this place, you must have rocks in your head!!<br/>Prices very competitive!
YuMMM.com
Love it. Great food! Very busy in a small space, but it adds to the atmosphere. Love the music! Be prepared to queue but it's worth it.
FatCat
Pandemonium!. I've never seen so many people queuing for burgers - there had to be at lest 60 people hanging around inside and out...and have to admit they are pretty good and so huge I could barely walk afterwards (even after feeding the sparrows quite a bit of leftovers!) Chips were OK.
Fish
Yessss. Believe the hype this place is as good as everyone says. It's chockas all day long and they turn out the best burgers I've ever had. The Tropical Swine was amazing!! Love the joint
Donvale
Premises. Nothing to change about the food. New and larger premises with a more streamlined ordering system would make a pleasant experience. If you build it they will eat......
Mondo Bon
Amazing burgers! They make their own patties and have such good ingredient combinations, prepare to be very full afterwards!
Lianne-KF
Incredible!. A friend brought us here the night we arrived in Queenstown and were too tired to cook - oh my goodness these are the most incredible burgers ever, as are the chips and all the sauces you get with it! They are huge but that just meant if we couldn't finish it, we could have it for breakfast!
David Clay
Burger is definitely very good as per the hype but it's still just a burger and a little over hyped. You should try go at least once if in town but missing isn't the end of the world and lines are often pretty ridiculous.
Noopur Rohatgi
The very much local, hyped and affordable 'fergburger' is located in the heart of the town. Starting from 11 in the morning, a loooooong queue is seen and the rush is maintained till 11 in the evening or may be 12. After waiting for almost an hour in the queue, we made the order n was told to wait for another 15 mins until we recieve it, so it was a total of one and a half our wait. After that we get a massive size burger cut into two (which the person already asked us to do). A very yum burger which juicy chicken and we didnt complained of the wait. The place is really small, usually full and it is best binged by the lake side. At least we can say that we had the best burger of new zealand.
Debbie
It's totally overrated. Stood in queue for about 30 mins to place an order, and about to collect them, they misplaced my order receipt. It was so unorganised and its not worth it!!! Disappointing!!! And the taste of the burgers aren't so great either.
Rhiannon Fernandes
This takeaway joint should definitely be on your to-do list while visiting picturesque Queenstown. Why may you ask? It's proof that there is in fact a burger mecca! Extremely generous with portion size, succulent meat patties and great sauce-meat combinations..makes this the perfect takeaway option to sit by the waterfront with. Only downside to Ferg Burger is that they aren't a franchise!
Aditya Thakkar
Excellent stuff!!! your taste buds will have to wait for anywhere between 30 mins to an hr on most evenings but the wait is absolutely worth it. the burgers r very filling, fresh nd mind blowing!!!<br/>they also served us complimentary cookies from their bakery next door whilst we were waiting in the line which btw wer kickass too.<br/><br/>p.s: for a place so famous, dey r QUITE INEXPENSIVE!!!<br/>p.p.s u also HAVE to try their sorbets located just 2 shops down the street
Smoothie Oeek
Must try for queenstown so this was the first place i ate at after arrival! We ordered the classic beef and the lamb burger! Both were delicious but i liked the beef more, the lamb was a bit too oily saucey for me, and the mint was a bit much. But still, delicious burgers!
Masoud Mohamed
You are in queenstown and you wanna have burger?!! Its FERGBURGER!! This place is awesome.. The whole atmosphere is brilliant. I was in queenstown for three days and i went there 3 days and always saw a queue extending to the next three shops.. They have beef lamb chicken as well as venison.. Its a big miss if you are in queenstown and havent visited this legendary place!!!

F E R G B U R G E R . Zomg. Holy mother of. I've been waiting a long, long time to test out these bad boys. I probably looked like one of those kids who'd seen a roller coaster for the first time. After a thorough read of the extensive menu (seriously they have everything from Fiordland deer to tofu burgers so if you're bad at making decisions maybe give eenie meenie money mo a go) we went with the Southern swine and Bombay chicken. These burgers are huge, like as big as your head huge so come on an empty stomach. One bite in and my taste buds were already jumping for joy; the NZ prime beef was well peppered/seasoned and cooked to medium impeccability while the fresh accompaniments seamlessly fused in perfect proportion on the bouncy bread bun leaving a pretty damn successful burger. I liked the Bombay chicken even better. I think it was those exotic ingredients that got to me - that mango chutney and coriander yoghurt enriched the soft grill of the chicken tenderloins giving an exquisite flavour mash-up. This may just be my imagination but the burgers also feel on the healthier side of burgers as it didn't leave that residual grease feeling. Now onto the sides. The chips were just your average joe chips, yum but nothing special though the sauce choice is decent. The calamari was a bit of a rip off I thought with six tiny pieces for $5. Everything else was fantastically priced for the size and quality of food you were getting. We went at a non-peak time so only waited 15 minutes but I recommend taking a book if you're going at prime time as those queues can go on forever.
Yusuke Ando
This is one MUST stop place in Queenstown.<br/>There are always long queue, but service works efficiently as well as length of queue.<br/><br/>Actually, Dine-in is almost impossible. Grub bags then go to the beach.

Probably the only place in New Zealand where you will see long queues and one has to wait atleast 10-15 minutes to get his/her order and believe me it is totally worth <br/><br/>Tried their trademark “The Fergburger”, it was quite huge in size and had more than enough filing for a single person to grab..and it was fabulous taste wise <br/><br/>While waiting for burger, I grabbed a mug of chilled tap beer , which was very decent in price and was nice in taste too..party like atmosphere along with very friendly staff ensure that you would have a great time there

The best burgers iv ever had. Tofu one is my favourite. The lines are always well out the door all day long and you can see why. Love this place

Burgers. Burgers to me are something that need to be made right. We are not talking about McDonald's here. I mean proper burger. Burgers made with love, with ingredients to match the love. <br/><br/>Let's just say this place has the recipe for success. Burgers with chicken, lamb or beef. Even vege ones. <br/><br/>Top on my list for QT. A must go to place.

I ve ordered a chief wiggum yesterday. It was extremely salty. I woke up at the middle of the night and drink a bottle of water. A bit disappointed.

The wait is worth it! Was surprised how quickly and efficiently we were processed, service with a smile, cold beer while waiting and a beautiful fresh burger with quality ingredients. Do it!
David Boshier
Well worth the short wait, sit back and have a cold beer. Large, fresh home made style burgers. Don't go past this place if in Queenstown. Friendly service.

Fergburger is a tourist destination in itself and we told that there was always a long line. This is better than it sounds - waiting in the line is like waiting for the main act of a rock concert to show up. There is a definite buzz in the air as you wait and approach the counter to place your order. While you wait the staff offers you free cookies from Fergbakers next door.<br/>After about 15 minutes were able to place the order and were told that there would be a further wait of approximately 20 minutes for the order to be served.  We ordered the small bottles of the Brancotte Estate "Pinot Gris", but the catch is that you have to drink it in the restaurant only.<br/>Since this was going to be our only visit I ordered the Big Al and the wife ordered a Codfather.  The wait began with a screen which shows the orders being filled. The cooking is done in front of you and we were amazed to see 4 patties being cooked at the same time by a single chef.<br/>Finally we were served. The Big All turned out to be huge but so delicious. The Codfather was good too. Fresh ingredients and buns make such a big difference.<br/>The prices are very reasonable between ($12) and ($18) for the burgers.

If your new in town and looking for somewhere casual to dine at, head on over to Fergburger.  Famous for its oversized delicious burgers (beef, chicken, fish, vegetarian).   You will see queues forming particularly round peak meal times where the wait can be up to 40 minutes.    I would say it is the most popular place in town for young and old.<br/><br/>The burger buns are baked fresh several times a day next door at Fergbaker.<br/><br/>You will not be disappointed in these burgers.   They are open from the early hours of the morning, to the wee hours of the following morning, which means they only close for a few hours every day.<br/><br/>Check out my website for more indepth review of the burgers.

AMAZING! You will not be dissapointed if you have a Fergburger! They cater for vegans and vegetarians as well and have some amazing options. Could not believe how good this place actually is! Everybody has to try it at least once!

Nice burger, but possibly overrated on this occasion.

I was in Queenstown for 2 weeks. I ate at Fergburger every day during my visit, sometimes going back for seconds. Every burger was absolutely delicious. I've had good burgers in my life but after Fergburger no burgers will ever match up.<br/><br/>The only problem with Fergburger (which doesn't affect my rating at all) is that the restaurant is too small. The lines can be long (sometimes I'd be waiting outside), and there is not much sitting room if you want to eat in. But the staff are very vigilant at cleaning the place so it is never messy for long. Almost every time I've been to Ferg it has been packed and noisy, but as soon as I bite into my burger there is nothing else in the world except my burger and I :) And every burger has just the right amount of meat and condiments, so it is pretty much a guaranteed winner every time. My favourite is The Dawn Horn, and I even tried the Big Al once too, best decision ever! Even the sides are great! I love their calamari rings with wasabi mayo.<br/><br/>I always tell my friends that if they are going to Queenstown they HAVE to try Ferg at least once. But be careful if you do because you'll probably be circling that block several times for more. 5+ stars from me!

A nice burger place, though is it worth it for the long lines and crowded eating areas? I don't think so. Burgers are delicious but consistency is lacking especially when its compared to similar establishments like Velvet burger. But I suppose Fergburger is a vital part of every ones Queenstown experience, so though I'm giving it a 3/5. You should still check it out for yourself.

Had one of these delicious burgers for the first time about a week and a half ago and all I can say is that I was blown away! I don't even like burgers and I ate here twice in a week! I tried the Ferburger with Blue cheese and the cockadoodle oink! Both were amazing and GIANT! Couldn't be more impressed!

I first tried Fergburger in 2010. I ate there 3 times in one week it was that good! I'm not sure whether on my most recent visit the quality of the burger had declined or that I had built it up in my head so much that I was always going to be disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the burger was still great, as large as ever, and still tasty, but it just didn't seem to do it for me as much as it used to.

Sorry to burst the burger hype with 3 stars. Let me first say the burgers are good - really big but perhaps it was the one that I chose. I had the fergburger with cheese. It was good but I don't think its the best burger I've ever had. <br/><br/>One day I'll come back to Queenstown and will try something else so it can prove me wrong.

Had 3 days in Queenstown and went to Fergburger twice! Burgers are amazing!!The queues definitely speak for themselves, it's sooo worth the wait. Staff were efficient and it was great to see them looking like they were having fun whilst at work. They were accommodating of my request to change the burger contents a little and offered gluten free buns. Absolutely a must do in Queenstown

We were told half hour wait, we waited an hour and 10mins by which time our sides were very very cold but the burgers 6 stars out of 5, just amazing!! I had the venison burger which was delish. The others in our group had the big Al, which was great and the Cock Cajun burger, each was amazing!!

The queues speak for themselves at this place...<br/>Every time me and my boyfriend hit up Queenstown in the winter for some snowboarding action we finish the day at Ferg Burger. Both thier Chicken and Beef burgers are delicious! Cant wait to go back soon!

Spent the week in Queenstown, where many waiting for the snow found themselves instead, queueing for one the most famous burgers in the land. Fergburger has a queue of customers from the moment it opens till the moment it closes. The reason might have something to do with the burger thats actually a meal in a bun. All fresh, all cooked on site including the bread buns. <br/>I had the tandoori chicken burger which filled me up Tuesday through to Thursday -Thats how generous the portion. Great vibe and great burgers

This place pumps day and night but they sure know how to make an awesome burger and they dont muck around. By far the best burgers, sizewise and taste, the complete package, I always take friends here when in Queenstown. They even do Gluten Free Burger Buns!

As an ex-pat American living in Auckland, I often dream of In-n-Out and 5 Guys burgers. On a recent trip to Queenstown we saw the line out the door and though, hmm this looks promising. OMG. The burgers rock. We were in Queenstown 3 nights and ate at Fergburger all three nights. Awesome. Got to get back for some more!

I first had Fergburger probably 10 years ago when they were still in the hole in the wall beside O'Connels Mall. It was and still is the best burger I've ever eaten. I've been back every time I get to Queenstown (3-4 times a year) and even though they are now in a big fancy restaurant the burgers are still awesome. The queue out the door almost every day is testament to this.<br/>My favourite burger?...The Little Lambie.
