Review Stacks, Pizza & Burger Bar - Queenstown

Good food, good ambience, not so good location and definitely not a good waiting time. First off, the onion rings were OH-MY-GOD so good. I'd have ordered another portion if I could finish it. Also ordered a half-half pizza and we weren't disappointed. The Hawaiian and BBQ Carnivore (I think?) tasted great, with thin crust. Toppings could have been more generous I feel. The waiting time on a Tues night at 7pm was half an hour for a seating and one hour for the food to be served...

The idea was to go for a few drinks, we were taken care of by Franco, who was very friendly, cordial and super friendly, we ended up staying for dinner... excellent service, exquisite burgers and the drink up to expectations.! A beautiful experience with a good atmosphere, music, beautiful view of the lake and next to the fireplace.! Highly recommended đŸ‘đŸ»

Great friendly service, standard pub fair. Generous ice cream serving!! I had the bbq ribs and husband and burger and chips. Both good, would go again and try the pizzas looked good, nice by the fireplace.

Nice staff and good food. A way better option than the Hilton restaurant which we found to be overpriced and understaffed

Decent pub food, Joe sort us out with good service, Salt and pepper calamari entree was was excellent, lamb shanks were very good, fish chips were ok

It's OK, you'd go there for drinks not really for food.

Me and my husband came here a few times while we were staying at the Hilton and have nothing but great things to say! Their service is sensational and the food is fantastic. For the vegetarians, their veggie burger is delicious!! My husband also said their pizzas are great :) give them a try for sure. The price is also very reasonable and you get a lot of food!

Mate. Amazing ambience and really good hearty well priced meal. Staff were also very attentive. I would 100% eat here again. I find a lot of restaurants in Queenstown are hit and miss. But this hits the mark ( see what I did there). Pro tip. Get the lamb shank! I mean who comes to a cpu try of 50 million sheep and doesn't eat one of them?

Loved Stacks, so cosy next to the fire on a cold night. Great happy hour with a nice selection of wines to choose from. Our platter was delicious and even had cheese rolls on it.

Awesome salt&pepper calamari and sake chicken entrées. And the Beef Burger (double pattie and bacon) Wompf! What a meal, watch off and sleeves rolled up. Thank you for the amazing service and awesome food. Just dad I didn't have room for dessert.

Went here several times while staying at the Hilton. Friendly staff and lovely food. While not cheap this is Queenstown and is on par with other restaurants. Were very accommodating with our 10 month old.

Great pub food, great service, loved the wine. Good view from the deck and cozy fireplace dining area. Rugby on projector and many other screens. Would definitely go back if I was in the area.

My family’s experience here was great! Lovely and friendly staff especially the Fijian and Chilean ladies! The food was amazing, full of flavour!

Stacks is a local favourite of ours for taking the whole family or just the two of us. The staff are ALWAYS superbly accomodating, great deals offered regularly like half price pizzas or two for one drinks. The setting is warm and inviting -perfect winter place to cosy in, and then lovely out in the ‘courtyard’ in summer too. If you are staying at the Hilton you’d be silly not to utilise this place properly, and if you are a local this should be on your regular list!!! Sunday dinner, coffee, boozy lunch, post mountain, rugby and drinks, family meal time or date night this is one for all occasions!!

The food was great, we had the Wine's Mate Pizza. The staff was friendly, and there was this waiter that wad a great sense of humour, dad jokes for days!

Inviting, good food. Really liked the fish and chips. But how odd to have 2 Penfolds red wines on the list. Doesn't New Zealand make red wine?

This is the second time I dine here. First time was 2 years ago and the menu had been updated. No more pastas which is good because the pastas quite bland. Food overall is ok. Price is a little expensive. Service is ok. The table that we went to had not been properly wipe down which is disappointing.

Staff are very friendly, between my partner and I we got the seafood chowder and ribs, the chowder had lots of seafood and good flavour, and the ribs had lots of meat and sauce so I would recommend this place to others :-)

We decided on dinner at Stack’s pub as it was nearby where we were staying. We chose to get a couple of pizzas and for dinner. Food was OK, it took a while for them to come out but the pub was extremely busy and staff advised us of a long wait time when we arrived. A nice atmosphere with live music. A good place for a casual meal for those staying the other side of the water.

We went here recently on our stay at the Hilton, and had the best food there! Also helped that they played good music which we could hear from our room with the doors open(not a bad thing) good service good food and good atmosphere. We will be back :)

Was staying nearby and was quite limited for food choices but stumbled across this gem. Enjoyed a main and dessert here with my partner. Everything was delicious and the portion sizes were very decent for the price paid. Desserts in particular was amazing - wasn’t too overly sweet and despite being full after the main, I had to make room for their dessert. It was pretty quiet so service was very attentive and there was virtually no wait time for the food.

This has been our go to pub on our stay at the Hilton and the service has always been friendly and welcoming. The food is good, would recommend as a casual catch up type place.

Nice little pub with a good selection of beers however slightly over priced. Great how they air a lot of sports however if there isnt enough people in the pub they do kick you out unfortunately which is a shame. The curry special was nice however the chicken fettucine which was very bland. The sauce had no flavour at all and the chicken was over cooked. Wouldnt recommend the food here however the pub has a nice vibe

Really disappointed with the service. We asked for a drink refill and never got one in the end and it was not even a super busy day. Probably won't be going back

Went to Stacks Pub out of convenience as we were exhausted from a day of travelling. Pretty awful. Food was slow to come, pizza was dry and bland. It lacked flavour, sauce and ingredients. Chips were below average. Edible food if you need to be fed but really not worth the price and calories.

Went here for dinner tonight with a lot of people, they were very accommodating in getting us a big enough table etc. the place itself is quite cool, it's a nice pub vibe. The service is really good, our waitress was amazing and didn't miss a beat. The food however was a big let down across the board. I had the ribs, they were so fatty and the sauce was not flavoursome at all. I wouldn't come back unless it was just for a relaxing drink.

We called in last night for a coffee only to find that we were charged $7 per coffee. This makes Stacks, which is only a pub after all, the most expensive cup of coffee in the entire Queenstown Lakes area by far. Even the beer was not particularly cheap. This isn't going to encourage locals to visit. The pub has potential, even if it is a bit out of the way, but they have blown it as far as we and all the many friends we will tell, are concerned.

I thought the food was great, simple and tasty, not too overpriced. The service was also good, didn't have to wait long at all for the pizzas.

Average at best , poor service, food that I could cook at home, pizzas were undercooked and bland with little topping, just a big disappointment , with sok much potential I hope they get it right, about time we had a local pub worth going to, this one needs some work first though
