Among a few steak and burger high flyers Searle deserves more recognition than it gets. No one comes here for fish or veggie wraps. The burgers were great, the service friendly and efficient. Would be nice to have some more sauce options but since I couldn’t fault the taste perhaps it’s best the way it is.
The decor of the restaurant is warm and inviting, and the food we ordered was very nice. However, I will not come back again, because while the waitress was lovely and did her part well, the food took too long to arrive. We ordered only two main plates, and it took approximately 45 minutes. We were not informed of why it was taking so long or how much longer it would be. When the food finally did arrive, the waitress apologized for the long wait, but gave no explanation of why it happened. It's a shame because we truly did enjoy the food (the burger in particular was GREAT!), but with a wait time that long, we doubt we will return.
Was looking for a fun place for dinner and as we came out of the nearby carpark we saw the heavy steel doors to this restaurant and the inviting menu so headed in... This place ticks so many boxes it isn't funny, great character interior, dark lighting, good music, restaurant and bar areas, pool area, happy hour specials and really popular with a wide age range. My fish was perfect and the apple crumble dessert very impressive! Good place to party...
I was in Queenstown over the New Years period and visited Searle Lane multiple times, as it was such a good time the first time. Definitely recommend!
Good on a Friday night, nice crowd, nice music, cheap shots and booze, big space !!! Nice place to party in town and have a few finger food !!!

I visit here quite often and sometimes the food is excellent and other times it's just okay. Service can be a bit hit or miss but for $10 their lunch menu is excellent value.

Awesome $10 lunches, every thing sounded so good i ordered 3 meals! They even looked great and tasted even better. Best value for money. You gotta try this place!
Nice pub, cheap beer, good food, good vibe. Friendly servers were helpful. Cheap beer, $12 pitcher, tasted great. Food portions generous and delicious. Comfy relaxed atmosphere. Fish and chips, chicken and veggie burger, rotisserie chicken.
Popped in here for lunch after strolling around town a bit. They have $5 pizzas and $10 lunch options from 12-2 everyday. I had the steak pita with fries. The steak was cooked medium rare and the coleslaw had a good crunch. My friends really enjoyed their fish & chips, pizza, and chicken sandwich as well. This bar also have a great happy hour at 9 p.m. with $5 beers and house liquors.
Interesting place. Food was excellent. Staff attentive and on to it. Specials most days. We had the mixed grill and it was superb. We hit $5 pizza saturday and it was packed. The pizzas looked brilliant as well.
We had the Calamari and the Jalapeno popers as entree and they were both tasty as and decent portions. The mixed grill was nice too. Our waitress tonight was great
Nice place with cheap beer, cheap pizza and friendly staff. Place gets packed out in the evenings for these reasons but still has a decent atmosphere. Always seems to be a weird vibe around the pool table though with, what looks like the same wannabe tough-guys around it every night. I wouldn't mind, but they look like they would get blown over in a strong breeze, never mind anything else haha. Still rate the place though, have been here a bunch while in QT.
Great place with reasonable price in a very Upmarket location, @ time of this feedback (29 Dec 2020) the prices for a jug of beer starts at $13 NZD burgers from $10 NZD and pizzas from $5 NZD.
Loved the vibe. Great music. Friendly bartenders. 5 dollar pizzas & drinks specials were awesome. Impromptu pool competition and free round of drinks was fantastic. Will definitely make it a must do next trip there. 🎉🥃🥂🍕🍹
Good lunch options, price is reasonable. Tasty pizza either during lunch or dinner for special price. Can be crowded when Covid is not here and packed with all sort of people. Jugs or pint of beer is nice, shots of something stronger are available too. Some days pool game competition for voucher to spend on the bar by winner and friends. Big space, section with table to sit, dancing area.

You really can't get a better lunch deal anywhere. For $5 NZD, their pizza is good sized and not too bad for the price. I loved the calamari salad and steak sandwich from the lunch $10 special menu. The bar was surprisingly not too busy, so we were taken care of quickly and kindly!
