Good bacon and eggs breakfast. (scrambled). Excellent long black coffee

Lovely lady behind the counter. She was fun, engaging and just got the three of us girls. Their deliscious desserts (gooye lemon tart thing was To.die.for) and foods and coffee was awesome. Super nice place. I highly recommend it.

Finally got a chance to properly eat there. While the general atmosphere may not be all that fantastic, the food was very tasty. The French toast and the scones were truly amazing.

Friendly staff who were happy to adapt a lunch meal to suit my colleague. I had a mince and cheese pie which was sufficiently tasty and lacking in jelly. The mince would benefit from a few more spices but I certainly couldn't do a better job myself! Would definitely try one of their other, more adventurous sounding pies next time :)

The meal was wonderful and fresh with great coffee close to the beach so you can walk off the food certainly will go back for more.

Pleasant medium sized local cafe and dining facility.

The service here is not to help customers, when you have a menu you can’t change something in what you are ordering to suit your customers as you are not allowed and there is not reason why you can’t change something in the menu. Wouldn’t you want happy customers in satisfying their needs. Didn’t take meals of the special board once they had sold out. And never cleared tables for us, and staff were rude and not willing to help

Have tried to eat here twice. Walked out both times. Nothing vegan to eat on the savoury front. Offered a salad at 10.30am!!!<br/>No help whatsoever on the counter. No trying to make a meal to help. Just no our food is full of dairy etc. <br/>Jesus. Teenage daughter nearly in tears as we left. Cheers.

Have always had good food and service at the Garden Deli. Would recommend it. Big breakfast is excellent.

Decided to try this place for brunch after a friend recommended it. It was really busy with loads of uncleared tables. Lots of people came in, saw the uncleared tables and left. During our time there, it seemed to take ages for them to clear the tables. Maybe they were short staffed? Our food was OK but I still can't fathom how they can charge $5.20 for a medium sized moccaccino. We won't be racing back here again.

One of my favourtie place to have breakfast! I've been here a couple of times now and every time had been a very pleasant experience. Love the kiwi brekkie and pancakes!

GF diners be careful. This would actually have been a really great dining experience, except that - despite ordering a Gluten Free menu item - it came chock full of gluten. When this was clarified with staff the first stated the whole meal was gluten free, and the second didn't know. For a cafe that advertises itself as having gluten free food available they don't understand the allergy. They did try to make up for it by comping the coffees but I wouldn't feel safe eating here again.

Had not been into The Garden Deli &amp; Cafe for several years but recently called in to see for myself the changes I had been hearing about. GREAT Menu (all day Brekky) and delicious cabinet food, along with GOOD coffee and attentive service means I will be making this my"local" from now on! A nice "buzz" inside with recent magazines to read catering to all tastes and some nice cheese and deli products (incl Piako Gournet Yoghurt!) to go with their specialty - Cooked Ham On The Bone that you can by per slice - WOW!<br/>Try it for yourself..you'll be impressed for sure!<br/>Pete<br/>Kapiti Coast Regular!
