Ka pai Mōrena, this mōrena we visited #vintagevillagecafe for some kai and kāwhe. Haven't been here in years. It's still a lovely setting on the corner.
Menu looked great for breakfast and lunch, as did the small amount of cabinet food. The kai and kāwhe, smoothie were served in a very reasonable time. It was very ka pai.
There is plenty of inside and outdoor seating. Lovely atmosphere, but the music is a bit loud for ka pai conversation or quite thinking while enjoying your kāwhe. Otherwise, the atmosphere was really nice.
Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience.
Came here for lunch to treat my stepson with his Dad away, back to our old fave before we moved away.
He got buttermilk waffles with berries & icecream and a fancy chocolate shake. Said it is the best lunch out he has EVER had! And my eggs benedict was, as always, perfection.

Nice little café where you can enjoy breakfast at reasonable cost. There is an artistic vibe which makes the atmosphere attractive. I also liked the music coming at the right volume through the speakers.

Went again last Saturday. Had a great family lunch. Staff so nice , excellent service and great dishes.
Enjoyed wandering around town and ended with th squid salad. Delicious and just the right amount before I head for a long walk in the beach.
Popular spot with locals and visitors. Art gallery to look at (and buy) while waiting. Not that drinks took long. Will call again.

Walked in to happy staff. The food cabinet had a nice selection. I chose a cake with coffee.
Cake was yum
Coffee good, creamy, but not quite hot or strong enough.
My date said her dish was really flavoursome 👍🏼
Editing my review from 2019 since it has changed owners. Went to check it out, and it's back to being a good cafe. Decent regular cafe food, at regular cafe prices, friendly staff, got their systems together. It was a much better experience, better food and better service.
