Very yummy Japanese and Korean small family like restaurant. Have a sushi selection bar with the main dishes menu. Great for lunch time break or short stop when walking nearby. Visited few times and like the sushi choices with bowl meals.

Excellent little place for lunch. Off the main road but worth seeking out. Wonderful fresh bento box for just $21.

Amazing food! The service was amazing. The chicken was hot and crisp and only took 5-10 mins to make. Best Japanese food place ever.

Service is always amazing, staff are super friendly and polite. Food is great especially if you are vegetarian or vegan, they have options available. A nice and clean place to sit down and enjoy some sushi :)

It's a fair enough place. Food is edible but nothing amazing. The spicy korean soups were nothing but spice and really stingy w ingredients. Sushi was ok. You'd do much better to walk a few more steps to Tree Café.

I tried this place because Tree Cafe wasn’t open today. The sushi seems ok, the rice was cooked well but the seaweed was a bit soggy and chewy (probably because I was there at 1pm and the sushi has been sitting there for quite some time). I also ordered a teriyaki chicken bento and a bibimbap. I had better bibimbap from Korea Airline than this, they’ve included mesclun salad leaves, carrot sticks, and under cooked onions in the bowl plus obviously rice, mince and egg. It was quite unauthentic. The teriyaki chicken was basically chicken cooked in teriyaki sauce, the tempura was done in thick panko crust, again, not impressive. Staff were friendly and helpful.

This is our favourite local sushi place and man it is good - the sushi feels fresh and are a really great size.<br/><br/>The staff are really lovely and the atmosphere is nice and cosy.<br/><br/>Haven't had many of the dishes on the menu but the ones I have had have been good and the miso is yum.

This place is a hidden gem and its pretty busy with the locals. It's located in the mall.<br/><br/>I really like this place and they do both Korean and Japanese cuisine. <br/><br/>I had my favourite Chicken Bento Box and couldnt fault that cause it's really good. <br/><br/>The atmosphere give a good vibe. Great for catching with friends. Max 6 to accommodate the seating capacity in one table. <br/><br/>The service is friendly and great. Overall it a great place to have lunch and a good laugh with your friends or family. <br/><br/>Definitely recommend this place. I will try their Korean dishes next time. 😊

Toshi is more Korean than Japanese. It is somewhat like a cafe where one picks the food & pays at the counter. Drinks are self-service like in a canteen. My wife had a fish roe soup & I had chosen individual items - sushi & tempura. Fish roe soup (Korean) came with 3 side dishes & rice - ok. Sushi was poor - rice didn't stick together & fish not fresh.

I have searched countless times for an authentic yet tasty Japanese restaurant with an array of dishes. Well little as I know that there was one up the road from my house! <br/><br/>Toshi has a wide variety of dishes to choose from and also delicious takeaway sushi. My personal favourite is the spicy salmon roll. Flavoured with delicious sichimi togarashi. On a cold day, I stop by on my way home from school and pick up a hearty miso soup for $2! <br/><br/>A nice family style restaurant that is nothing too fancy, but delivers impeccable food for awesome prices. If you go there I would highly recommend the teriyaki chicken on rice or the tempura ramen and their dumplings are to die for!

My to go place, as the food is always yummy and they have a big variety of sushi. The staff are always nice and the prices are very reasonable. My favourite things to get are the bento boxes and Bulgogi - both very filling.

This is my go to restaurant and absolute favourite place to eat. It offers a wide range of sushi and also offers to make your favourite sushi on request if it is not available. There is an endless stream of customers for takeaway sushi and to sit down and eat - evidence for their tasty dishes. They are very well established in the local area and have a large base of loyal customers. Every dining experience has been pleasurable and they offer a really great lunch box with an affordable price. Service is absolutely topnotch - a very caring staff. I also highly recommend their korean dishes especially the bulgogi - thinly sliced sizzling beef in a tasty sauce, accompanied with various korean side dishes.

Have eaten there twice, and have found the dishes to be tasty and well-priced. The place isn't that large, so it suits more as a quick dine-out as opposed to an occasion-type dinner. Staff are friendly and the service reflects that. Give it a try, I'm sure you will be pleased with both the value and the dishes on offer. 4.5 Stars.

Went for dinner last night, was really great. I had raw tuna sushi, and my partner had a hot chicken stir-fry type thing. I'm normally fussy about sushi particularly raw fish, but it was amazing!<br/>Staff were really helpful too.

I absolutely love dining at Toshi. I have been coming here most weekends because the food is absolutely delicious! So far, I have tried: <br/>- Takoyaki (Octopus Balls) – I have eaten these in many Japanese restaurants around Auckland and I still believe Toshi does the best ones and for the best price! - Yako Gyoza (Deep Fried Dumplings) – Very good! <br/><br/>- Teriyaki Chicken Bento Box – very tasty and filling! <br/><br/>- Unagi (Eel) Bento Box – strong fishy taste and unsual but surprisingly good! <br/><br/>- Fish Bento Box – yummy! <br/><br/>- Teriyaki Chicken (served with rice, miso, salad) – one of my favourite dishes! The Teriyaki Chicken comes out on a sizzling hot plate (which is exciting) and the flavours are amazing! <br/><br/>- Bulgogi (Korean Beef BBQ dish) – They serve Korean dishes as well as Japanese dishes which is nice. The bulgogi was perfect. I would definitely order this again.<br/><br/>The Miso Soup is also very good. Always piping hot with a lovely flavour!<br/><br/>I think Toshi is one of the best restaurants in Remuera for quality of food, great prices and friendly service. And this why I keep coming back!

THE BEST SUSHI EVER! I eat here many days of the week and it's always packed out at lunch time. The sushi is the freshest most delicious sushi I've ever tasted and they make sushi here that I've never seen anywhere else. There is such a wonderful range of tasty little parcels I never know what to choose and that's without even looking at the menu! I highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys sushi.
