Review Sierra Cafe - Remuera

Opens very early each day, around 6:15 am. Good bloke that runs it as he reserves us our table as we have coffee each weekday after our early morning walk.

Convenient location, friendly and nice staff, but the iced mocha tasted a little sour. Perhaps the coffee may be under roasted but honestly not sure what was it. Definitely not keen to get this again.

The coffee is really really average. The milk wasn’t foamed properly... the food was pretty good in terms of taste and presentation. However it is not that cheap for the portion size you get.

Let's say... I will never come back... I have nothing against Sierra Cafe but the service that I received from this particular place was so appalling. The guy who made the coffee was so rude...

This Cafe must surely have the greatest potential in Remuera. The location is so prominent and it's architecture seems perfectly tailored to the cafe trade. It is clean and it's great to sit, sip and observe the surroundings. Just a few inexpensive changes would make this a popular destination - a natural focal point. I hope it happens soon.

Went passed this outlet so many times but today's lunch was our 1st time actually tried this outlet out. Good location but we were surprised there was only 1 table occupied while other café nearby had at least several tables being occupied. Wondered why?, Anyway, we ordered Medium Mocha, Medium Hot chocolate, Creamy Mushroom with Bacon, and Sausage Roll with side salad. Drinks were good. Food was delicious, tasty. The only thing I personally have a small question mark is (once again!) the portion size. Maybe it's just the plate that was toooo big for the portion that they served.<br/><br/>The male owner/operator/server was friendly, polite, and helpful. No complaint at all!! Happie chappie on this aspect.

Decided to come here and have some breakfast before starting the day as we were in the area.<br/><br/> We ordered the big breakfast and the sweet corn fritters ~ <br/> I quite liked the sweet corn fritters, lacked corn in my opinion but was good well balanced with the salad and bacon. The big breakfast was rather small, and was missed some chutney or tomato sauce. But everything was well cooked and just like any other big breakfast you'd get at any cafe. <br/><br/> Restaurant was pretty busy with lots of regulars coming in for coffee, either as take away or sit in. Too bad I'm not a coffee person, I'm a true a foodie only haha. Staff are friendly and attentive and this would be a Cafe to come back too only if I was back in the area.

Bad experience, the service was okay at the start but as soon as we complained it was terrible.. food was unpleasant and they refused to fix or refund.

This cafe is ok if you want to stop and grab a coffee to go or a snack, but I would rather choose any other in Remuera. I personally didn't like at all the coffee and the service was average. On top of that, I was overcharged for my coffee, on the menu on the wall, the price for a cappuccino is $4 but I was charged $4.6 without any explanation.<br/><br/>The selection of pastry looks good, but after the initial upset I just went to the cafe next door for some food.

Didn't really like the feel of this place. I had a casserole and it wasn't very nice at all it was really chewy

Service is good, coffee is good but menu and food is average. The banana smoothie was thin and tasted like it was just milk and banana syrup. Not sure if I would return as there are so many better cafes in the area.

We really enjoyed our breakfast here this morning. The service was the best we have had for a long time and all the staff looked like they were enjoying working here. <br/><br/>The coffee was great, the food was standard cafe style and very tasty.<br/><br/>They have a highchair but no change table. <br/><br/>We will be back!

Don't waste the fantastic (and handsome) manager and put some money into giving this cafe a facelift. Food is same old and needs to be revamped and the coffee is sometimes sour<br/>The outdoor seats need to be non smoking! <br/>But the loyal customers will stick by Sierra (and the manager).

This cafe has been up and down over the years, seemed a bit neglected. But pleased to say that it's seems to be back on track, looks and feels alot sharper. Food is heaps better, tasty and fresh. Coffee very good, best in Remuera. The long term manager is one of the friendliest helpful cafe workers I've met.

Went here a year and a half ago... saw the most handsome man I have ever seen working behind the counter, mid twenties... never forgot that day! Great food and service as well of course :)
