Review Chai Yo - Richmond

Petrina Janessa
I ordered the drunken noodles and was surprised at how flavourful it was. So good! Too much bean sprouts for my liking but the seafood was fresh and bountiful. My brother ordered the coconut chicken (?) And for $12 it was amazing. Also ordered the roti duck and cream cheese spring rolls which were yum as well. Only feedback was we had to request for cutleries and we weren't given any plates when the spring rolls and roti duck arrived. But overall, would definitely recommend.

Arrived at 8:15 (they close at 8:45) but they were happy to have us. I had a delicious pork and peanut curry and my wife the sizzling seafood. Both good quantities. A robot delivered a free dessert!

Easy 5-star place. It deserve it for vibe, food quality/presentation/price. Really nice fish balls (which for some reason, are called fish cakes). Recommended

We get takeaways from here every-single-weekend and it is exceptional every single time! Always consistent with portions and spice level. Our whole family love it as our Friday night takeaway. Thank you Chai yo for offering such beautiful food.

My first visit and was delighted. The food was fresh and delicious and despite a sign saying they were short staffed we didn't have to wait long at all. Staff were very pleasant and I really enjoyed my evening there

Absolutely adoreee this restaurant - my favourite Thai place! I’ve been going here for years and the service is consistently good. The spring rolls and fried egg noodles are delicious, and the hot plates are soooo good (and cool!). Highly recommend both dining in and takeaways. 10/10

I normally by pass Thai restaurants. But my uncle reserved a table here and now there's no turning back. As everywhere, the were short staffed but did an amazing job. Our orders came quickly and with large servings and very tasty. Well done to you all!

We enjoyed a great family gathering and reunion, made all the better by delicious food and friendly, efficient service. Love the robot "waiter" which delivered the food. Prices on average $20+ for mains. Worth a visit.

The food was hot, fresh and the spice level was exactly as required. The gorgeous Cha Cha was a cute and fun addition during service. The price was reasonable, the serving sizes were generous and the restaurant was clean and tidy.

Pretty yummy!  I have got the crunchy chicken here several times and taken it into the square or gardens for lunch, the little crispy and spring rolls are amazing too...keep up the great work!  Awesome prices too

Best Thai food in town. Staff are exceptional, always friendly and treat you like you are their best customer. Food is fresh and delicious. Love the Angry Duck, beef salad and pad thai - best pad thai ever! Highly recommend this place.

The food at Chai Yo on Nile Street is consistently delicious and full of fresh vegetables and heaps of zingy flavour. Chai Yo is without doubt the best value for money Thai Takeaways in Nelson. Service at Chai Yo could also teach kiwi restaurateurs and takeaway owners a thing or two. Vincent is my personal star - but all staff are knowledgeable, courteous and super-good at getting things right. Thanks guys!

First of all I love the fact that there is so much diversity in meals, including many vegetarian options for people like me. I ordered (takeaway)a stir fry vegetable dish which was absolutely delicious and had the perfect amount of spice for me. I was impressed with the fact that they added a reasonable sized container of rice as well. Also ordered some vegetable spring rolls which came with chilli sauce and were amazing! Will definitely be ordering again and trying different things from the menu!
