Review Taj Of India - Richmond

Best lunch specials in town. $10 for curry, rice and naan. Good sized servings too! Definitely worth a try!

I felt it's a real hand made curry from scratch. They always say 20mins wait but worth waiting. Hot wasn't hot enough though :p

Asked for a chicken Madras hot + 1 and a cheese nan bread, curry tasted like a mild korma and the bread was rubbish, feel bad as they offered for e to return the curry for a new one but seriously they need to get a chef who knows the difference, won't ordering again.

HI i'm Jas
We came today to their establishment approx @21:30 , we ordered naans, chicken tikka & chicken jalfrazi & pay $46.50 but we only get 2 items not chicken tikka, i have tried the calls to their number but they didn't pick up the phone, hope they can give us credit tommorrow or payback $9.99 for chicken tikka as we didn't received it .
NOTE: Hope they we're More Honest to their honourable valuable customer.

The shop is small and tidy, it gets very stuffy in summer. My lamb saag was overly creamy and rather one dimensional. It was also less hot than requested. The lunch deal is not bad value - $10 for any curry, rice and naan. Just another Kiwi-style curry house.

This place has been our regular for the past year. We have tried various other Indian restaurants and none have compared so far.

The food is absolutely excellent, and the servings are extremely generous for price.

Customer service is fantastic, especially the young man who is front of house. Delivery is speedy, and free!

Have yet to be disappointed and have tried almost every dish on their menu!

Highly recommended!

ooooooo noooooo! My partner had butter chicken which was really good. Also a friend had the korma which was ok. However, I had saag and it was horrible. We did go back and I had mango chicken, again horrible. They seem to be good at cooking standard euro type curries that us kiwis love, however, when it comes to the curries that I guess are not ordered as regularly it's a total disappointment. Both times I had bones in the chicken which appeared to be drum sticks that had been stripped down. Also my sauce both times was like water. So if you love curry and don't order the more popular types you will be disappointed.
