Review Ben & Maxxi Asian Eatery - Richmond

Phill Urquhart
Being a huge fan of Thai food, but also rather partial to a good burger or pizza, Ben and Maxxis really ticks a lot of boxes for me. Whenever we have family visiting, off we go. With the blended "fusion" style menu, offering both delicious Thai options and more western selections like beef or cheese burgers, it is a safe bet that everyone will leave happywe started off with the appetizer for 4 option, which included happy chicken wings, angry chicken wings, pork skewers, spring rolls and fries. I reckon that the fries here are some of the best in town, always get double what you think you need! The appetizers were the highlight of the meal, in fact next time we come I may just order that for myself. I then ordered a Satay Chicken pizza. The base was thin and crisp, the cheese and the satay sauce was banging. I did order the 'crispy' chicken option, and to be honest, I would probably get the standard grilled chicken next time as the batter was quite thick. My wife ordered the Satay Chicken and Rice. Again choosing the crispy chicken option. Our daughter chose the Satay Chicken Salad (are you seeing a theme here!!) And again, Crispy chicken. Having tasted all dishes (such is the responsibility of a dad!) I can attest to the fact that the food is still up to its high standard. The quantities were good also, with us each requiring a doggy bag at the end of the meal. Great atmosphere, great staff, excellent food. Go for it.

Amazing food, with a eclectic range of eastern and western food presented and crafted beautifully. The atmosphere is welcoming and warm, with a serene waterfall feature in background to help sooth you into culinary bliss. Highly recommended.

Been here a several times... by ourselves (family of 4 - 2 adults n 2 children - 13 and 25 years), with family and or friends. Always love their food!! Red curry crispy chicken and burgers are the best. Meals are a great size. Service can be a bit slow at times, food can take its time coming out. Service is always friendly and accommodating.

The water feature and art created a peaceful environment! The waitor was very kind and polite and the food came out extremely fast. The cocktail combo was refreshing. Would recommend the duck roti! Yuuummmm

Fantastic food, decent portion sizes, my meal was significantly smaller than other similar dishes at the table, but overall delicious. Highly recommend any of the duck dishes.
