Been a while since my last visit to The Riverhead. My recent visit to celebrate my wife's birthday with our best friends was nothing short of a gastronomic delight. What truly set our evening apart was the staff's friendliness and their willingness to accommodate changes to the menu. I was at the tail end of recovering from a bad cold and inflammation and it's not every day that you find a place where the staff are not only attentive but are ready to fine-tune one's dining experience to meet one's need! A most enjoyable evening in an atmosphere that was warm and inviting, great laughter and shared moments among our friends, the meandering Waitemata water outside the window and a windless evening after Auckland's stormy weather added a touch of serenity to the evening, turning our dinner into a wonderful birthday dinner experience that transcended the ordinary and made it such a special evening for my wife. So I top marks 'he Riverhead' and I tip my hat to all the staff who made our evening such a wonderful event. My deepfelt appreciation!

Awesome spot for a getaway meal. I had the fish and chips. It was good, not exceptional. The risotto had the most character out of the four we ordered. All in all, it was an inviting diner. (Coffee was better than expected). Thank you staff🤌

We took the ferry, and the weather gods were smiling on us...crisp but sunny with clear blue skies... the food was to die for, reasonably priced. Outside and inside tables, great decor, great scenes...And for some fun, a billiards area in the back with its own bar... 10/10 recommend 👌.

Close to average restaurant pricing but food was above average. I had the burger which was a good size and flavour packed. Very relaxed outdoor dining area, doesn't get much better than that. Service was great, regular check ins to replace our drinks when needed. It's a must try restaurant for sure. Probably worth booking, it was very busy at lunch time.

Had dinner here with some mates. Service was awesome, food was meh, but the ambiance was a 100% Feedback on the steak, less sauce please!!

The Riverhead has all the things a country restaurant needs to make it a 5xxx rating. Good location, staff and service, food and drink. So good..

Fabulous location by the river. Good parking outside. The food was tasty with a good selection on menu. Random service let our meal down. Ordered a cheese platter starter and before we had even finished the mains were bought out. When the starter came, it wasn't with the cheese we ordered. Had to ask them to wait till we'd finished. Ordered a coffee for end of meal and in the end had to go and ask for it myself.

It's a quiet, secluded, wonderful place to be with the ocean.

It's a great place for a little getaway, just a short trip outside the city. The staff is friendly, and the prices are reasonable.

This is an awesome place for weekend family lunch / brunch. We had an awesome time.. we went during the day but I'm sure it would be magical at night too .. with the terraces overlooking the river. NZ oldest tavern and truly living UpTo the expectations.. must go on the culinary list..

Not to be confused with another place, also called the riverhead, a few km away. This place has good parking, though not necessarily enough for when it is completely full of patrons. Disabled access is good with no clutter. Toilets are on site and indoors. They were clean. There is a lot of seating, including indoor, verandah, and outdoor seating. The views of the riverhead are nice, and the restaurant is clean. Food was a little expensive but of good quality. Service was above average, and they were willing to split bills and take different forms of payment. There was a good selection of drinks on offer too.

Wonderful dinner at The Landing. Everything was perfect. The oysters were some of the best we’ve had. Highly recommend the fish of the day & risotto - fish perfectly cooked and risotto was incredible. Service was warm and welcoming. Thanks for a really special evening x

I can't fault the service and the location but i was disappointed with the food. I ordered the market fish and it came out beautifully presented, it just lacked in flavor. All the elements just needed a little bit more depth. It was not bad but it was not great either and the flavor can only be described as boring. Yet if you read the menu description, it sounds mouth-watering. This was the same with the gnocchi that my friend ordered and the burger that my partner got. The fries that came with the burger I couldn't fault.

5 stars all round. This is my favourite place to eat, I love the setting and the food is beautiful. I'm pretty sure they have recently updated their menu. Still delicious. Love this place, love Riverhead. 👍

My family and I had a great lunch at "The Landing" for my birthday in August. We were a party of 9, the food came out together and was very good. If I had to look for any opportunity to improve, we thought the service was a little slow, but the place was busy (which is a good sign), and the staff were professional and friendly. The vegetarian option my wife had she enjoyed. I would recommend a visit, I would definitely go again.

Such a beautiful restaurant. We’ve visited for a late lunch and the staff was so helpful in booking us in. Restaurant is beautiful, cosy and situated just next to the river. Food was lovely and staff was super friendly. It’s a great place to wind down and enjoy a beer.

The Riverhead resturant is fantastic. The service is top class and the food is good portions, and the quality is brilliant and its finger licking good. I also love that they have cocktails and they actually know how to make them properly. In summer is great to sit out side and have a beautiful view of the water and in winter its cosy inside with the fire going. There is also a private room “the old Pub” you can hire for a function. I just love the atmosphere, vibe, service and food. Go and enjoy! I always go back .

Really appreciated the kind & excellent service of the staff here. Fresh ingredients and quick to serve a delicious ceasar salad. Beautiful day to sit by the river. Plenty of lovely tables to choose from. Recommend a visit for lunch or dinner 🥂
