Review Quartz Restaurant - Rolleston

"Don't judge a book by its cover", is quite an appropriate way to describe Quartz. It doesn't look like much on the outside but as soon as you enter, the atmosphere is immediate. Cool, suave with perfect lighting, if that was the best this place had to offer, it would be better than a lot of other places I've been to. But thankfully it wasn't. The service was friendly and real, the menu at a glance, wasn't pretentious, just solid. But when the food arrived ... WOW. Taste, portion size and the pricing were amazing. We had the chicken poppers, seafood chowder and garlic flat bread to start. All were delicious. We followed that with the Pork Belly, Steak, chips and eggs (2 by the way), and the Crumbed Beef Schnitzel. All fantastic and perfectly cooked. The size of the Pork Belly was 2 or 3 times the size of a normal restaurant serving but probably $10 cheaper. (Highly recommend this dish). The drinks were also a lot cheaper than most other restaurants with a glass of wine going for $11 which is a decent saving from the standard $15 to $18 at other places. In the current economic climate, value for money is huge and this place provides that in spades. Every patron leaving the restaurant had takeaway containers which should tell you all you need to know about their portion sizes. All in all, Quartz gets an A+++ in all departments. My first visit certainly won't be my last. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in or visiting Rolleston.

Had a great experience at Quartz. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. The beef burger was a good size, not quite enough salt for me, but there were salt and pepper grinders on the table so it was no problem to season. My partner loved the prawn curry and our daughter though the chicken burger was great too.

The food here is exceptional. Don’t judge a book by its cover with this one. The service is perfect.

Went with daughter for easy midweek meal. Decor industrial/art deco and tidy, lighting not too bright which was great. Food was fantastic and really well cooked. Prawn twisters were juicy and crisp outside. Ribs were soft and sweet. Fries evenly cooked and not too much slaw. Pork belly burger was even better, bacon and pineapple good sweet mix. Will def be back. Cocktails were 80s which is best era by far! Service was excellent… girls friendly and helpful . Awesome for local restaurant

Just home from a lovely evening at Quartz. Table of nine most from out of town. All agreed a lovely meal, with very pleasant staff. All in all a great night. Only one down side, no Tiramasu which we all said that’s what we would have. Great job

Meals are awesome Staff are great The only whinge was i got charged $10.50 for a glass of steinlager, but on the drinks menu, it says $9.50. Your front of house said sorry, but we haven't updated our menu yet. An extra $1 for what appears to be a 330ml glass? Hmmm

We have found a hidden gem in Rolleston. This wine bar/ fine dining restaurant is attached and contrast to the Rock sports bar next door. La maître d' was very attentive and made us feel welcome. The platter of entreé was faultless comprising of deep fried Brie, crispy bacon, Southern-style chicken bites, arancini and pesto, sticky sweet BBQ short ribs. I then had 2 lamb shanks slow braised in red wine sauce, potatl mash with crispy kumura on top of scattered courgette ribbons. Delicious. The dessert platter also complemented well. Great overall experience. Worth a long drive from Christchurch.

Awesome staff, very friendly and great towards kids. Food was awesome. 1 dish had an extra item not on the menu and staff were very apologetic about it.

This was my first time here an it was a great experience and one I would be happy to do again. Everything was well executed from start to finish. If I had to pick something that was negative it would be the what came across as pushy and by that we seemed like we had to hurry up and decide what we wanted as far as eat and drink. Apart from that yes I would recommend to friends and family. I would also return for another night out.

Dined this week with the family, including a couple of kids. Staff were fantastic and attentive, provided colouring in for my son, and took the time to interact with him. It was quite busy (and they gave us a heads up on possible wait) but everything came out on time and perfectly cooked. Kids meals are discounted if you order before 6pm as well! All in all I couldn’t fault it and we will he back!
