Review Capizzi Pizzeria - Rotorua

We had one of the best pizzas and garlic bread at this small Italian restaurant in rotorua. The menu had plenty of options for vegetarians and even vegans. Kids loved the well done pizzas, garlic breads and even the brownie. We loved it so much that we came back for a second time today. The decor and the music everything feels authentic Italian.

This was definitely the number one spot as a tourist. The pizza was very well crafted and the gelato felt like a taste from home. The owner was great and very welcoming too. Would recommend!

The staff were genuinely lovely and went out of their way to safely make me a gluten free pizza as I am allergic. Brilliant service, good wine and great pizza generally as my husband really enjoyed his pizza too.

Perfect crust on the pizza, with no flop! We ordered a prosciutto pizza and it was 10/10! If you’re in Rotorua and you’re craving authentic wood fired pizza, definitely stop in!

What a great little restaurant hidden away from the main street. You have to head to the back of the restaurant to really get a feel of the vibe. The men working the restaurant were friendly, welcoming, and checked on us multiple times to make sure everything tasted good. The restaurant really feels authentic and the music and setting were great. We ordered the cheesy garlic bread which was AMAZING and 2 pizzas. The Meat Feast and a build your own. All food was perfect and delicious. The pizzas are pretty big so we took some leftovers home in a box. They had a drink menu with alchocol, wine, soda/coke products, and also bottled water. Tap water is free. Additional notes.. restrooms on site. Accepted credit cards .

A wonderful experience at Capizzi as it came recommended from some fellow guests at a holiday park. Wonderful customer service & the atmosphere reflected everyone feeling seen and well catered for. We shared a gluten free pizza and it was really nice! Thoroughly recommend.

This Indian guy is amazing, went at 9:00 PM last night when he was about to close for the day but he did a favour for me and made the most awesomest pizza. I Loved it !!! God bless you Mr. Mumbai!!!

So happy we stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant during our stay in Rotorua last year. It easily became the dining highlight of our trip and we promised we'd eat in anytime we found ourselves in, or traveling through, Rotorua. The bruschetta could have us coming back on it's own, but the excellent stone/wood fired pizza just seals the deal. The restaurant has a classic small family owned feel and the dine in service just solidifies that. I'm looking forward to our next visit. I'd love see an expanded restaurant menu in the future, some Italian pasta dishes would be *chefs kiss"

We ordered pizzas and caesar salad and had it delivered to work (local law firm) and it was OUTSTANDING!!!! Everything was delicious, with the perfect amount of toppings etc... Super highly recommend this place to either eat in, or takeaway, or have delivered. Amazing every time!!!! The vegan pizza with grilled eggplant is my personal favourite.

I would recommend this place for Wood Fired Pizza in Rotorua. This is my favorite pizza restaurants in Rotorua. The ambiance is just awesome. Thank you very much!

Disappointing! Ordered a Margherita Pizza small for $17-50. What happened to the cheese - very sparse. I'm not on a diet. Such poor value. I won't be going back. I suppose they rely on the tourist trade where there is no repeat business. I am a local. Feeling ripped off.
Had pizza here off a GrabOne voucher and had to order off the takeaway menu as per condition on the deal. Pizza base was too soft for my liking. I prefer a crispier base. Pizza lacked any real flavour and a bit stingy with the meat servings. Had to pay $6 for them to put fresh basil on top which was shocking and big rip off!!!! Tasted like dominos/Pizza Hut pizzas.

This place was just what I needed, I was craving a traditional Italian meal.
Went to Rotorua a few months ago with my boyfriend for a holiday and this place was by far the best.
And we dined everyday. Thumbs up and best pizza I have had to date. I've been to a good few Italian restaurants since and nothing can beat. Anyone travelling to Rotorua, stop here on your travels. Service is great, lovely people.
It is a must 👍🏼
Dinner at Capizzi pizza. A quiet place to begin with. We ordered a garlic bread first and drinks. About a 20 min wait for our Capizzi pizza. .yummy! .very good service.

Menu is limited, however the pizzas were really nice. The bruschetta was amazing!
A bit disappointed that they didnt have any lemon or lime for the Carona!
Meals came quickly.

Been here a couple of times and really enjoyed it both times. Pieces are huge so don't over order! The space is very small and you do feel a bit crowder but the food makes up for it - garlic bread is yummy too. Bottom line - nice for takeaway or a couple for a meal.

The pizzas were tasty, however they didn't have a lot of toppings. Only two small bits of chicken per slice maximum. The pictures are not representative of the final product. Unlikely to return.

Amazing woodfire pizzas!
The aroma in the store of the fireplace in open view, fresh ingredients.
Happy and friendly staff every time
Loved watching our pizza get flipped up in the air, getting made right in front of you.. It gives you a comforting feeling of knowing how your pizza is being made.
And when you bite into that pizza.. pure bliss....

Only bad thing about it is that we didn't get another one!
Best pizza in Rotorua!
My partner and I LOVE IT.

A whole group of us went to Capizzi Pizzeria for dinner, we had a few different pizzas and they were all delicious. Fresh ingredients, lots of toppings, perfectly cooked and friendly service from the staff. I would not hesitate going back here again! Thankyou for your delicious pizzas

It was one of the best when they first opened but quality dropped really quick. Referring to friends became embarrassment. Topping of meat dropped and now we have fully stopped going there. Sad to see it fall but had a good potential. Most restaurants fail as they get greedy after few days and this was no exception.

Service was also very average.

Good pizza, service was ok-friendly but no offer of additional drinks. Outside eating area was dirty, cigarette butts lying around, tables unclean. My husbands glass was also dirty, plates provided were paper and the top one of these was also dirty. Was annoyed that I wasn't able to pay by credit card. Good takeaway option, don't eat in.

We love the "Capizzi" pizza - best pizza in Rotorua, great service, our first choice for a Takeaway or eat-in as an alternative
