Review Sichuan Style Restaurant In Rotorua - Rotorua

Went in without expectations and was left completely satisfied. The food here tastes amazing and the prices are not bad. Staff were also very friendly and everything was served extremely quickly and efficiently. The place is also clean. Highly recommend the dumplings (but everything else tasted just as good).

We ordered the Kungpao chicken and lamb and beef stir fried rice noodles. Both dishes were large and delicious. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and were all over getting our order and tea for the table. Would highly recommend to anyone In Rotarua.

Average. Nice to have a free mooncake on the day of mid autumn festival, dumplings were really nice but DanDan noodle flavour disappointed, not spicy or Sichuan tasting at all

Ordered beef brisket soup with handmade noodles and some dumplings. Honestly one of the best bowls of noodles I’ve had - authentic northern Chinese food. Dumplings were ok

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Rotorua. It’s my top choice when I visit. The food and service are lovely, very classic Sichuan style dishes. I highly recommend everyone to try this restaurant.

It was my first time eating there with my family yesterday night but believe me its the best Chinese restaurant in town. The staff and the service 5star.The owner is super friendly and ask us about the food and service. The owner allow us to finish our meal even after they close the restaurant as we haven't finished our meal. They have wide range of different dishes. Big Thanks πŸ₯°πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ₯°. This place is the best! It was honestly pretty much our highlight of going to Rotorua, we liked it so much we went twice. It's the first restaurant I've seen in New Zealand that offers authentic Chinese breakfast foods. The food is delicious, I really enjoyed the massive hua Juan as well (see photo for how big they are even when they're half eaten). I would recommend that if you like spicy food you actually get some spice added, we had the beef noodles twice and they were even better with some more spice the second time round. The dumplings were also amazing. We enjoyed sitting outside, both times we went there were very loud children. I wish there was a place like this in Wellington!

The sweet and sour eggplant dish and the sichuan style dumplings are absolutely divine and super generous portions. Love eating here when we come to Rotorua!

Some dishes are really spicy. Big portions to share. Would highly recommend the sizzling eggplants.

Food tasted great and spicy ! The mabo tofu was really nice. The crispy chicken was also nice. Fish was spicy and nice. However, the dumpling was a bit off. It tasted like they used old meat. Considering the price, portion was smaller than expected.

I believe this is one of the only Chinese restaurants in Rotorua. They have an extensive menu and offer all kinds of dishes from vegetables, dumplings, rice, noodles, desserts, fish and other meats. We loved the spicy chicken and thick noodles dish and the vegetarian dumplings.

Pretty good sichuan style spicy food. Not that cheap kind of chinese food but quantity can give 5/5. If u can't eat very spicy, just choose the mild spice then.

Recently visited this restaurant with my whole family. We are from Sichuan, to be honest, taste here wasn’t very authentic; most importantly, the price was too high for the taste and customer they offered. Come on, I live in Auckland, how come is this restaurant much more expensive than most restaurants in Auckland? And the lady (could be the manager) at the counter didn’t show a happy smiling face to us at all, which kinda ruined our choice of poaching the restaurant and appetite in the first place. I’m not going to recommend this place to anyone at all. I would rather buy ingredients from the supermarket and cook myself.

Not a good experience for me, the chicken with hot chilli oil is not fresh and taste spoiled. I reflect this to them, It could be just a small hiccup form the kitchen.

To extremely hot and spicy food lovers there, then this is a must visit place. But the chicken which i orderd was not well cooked nd it was served too cold. The fried rice was good but it was extremely spice which I seriously couldn’t tolerate

Mmmm spicy.... x.x <br/>This restaurant has 2 branches, one in rotorua and one in hamilton. <br/>Specialising Sichuan style of food, they use lots of Sichuan peppercorns. You will find it quite different to your usual chilli. Not to say it’s not good, but yeah it’s called β€˜ma la’, aka β€˜numbing spice’ for a reason. We ordered the K1 and K2 noodles.<br/><br/>Good luck.<br/><br/>Food: 4/5<br/>Service 3.5/5<br/>

Big portions and tasty food. I asked for my food spicy and boy did they deliver! Spacious interior ( baby friendly). Great for a nice hot meal in cold Rotorua!

Food is ok. Have the same restaurant name as in Hamilton, but food quality and food portion not as good. Prices charged does not reflect quality of food.

The best spicy Chinese Restaurant in Rotorua. The most authentic Sichuan spicy food. There is no difference between Sichuan Province and here. <br/><br/>Recomanded dishes:<br/>Pork lungs slices in chili sauce (entree )<br/>Steamed chicken with chili sauce (entree )<br/>Fish fillet in hot chili oil.<br/>Ma Po Toufu <br/>Suate Eggplant with sweet and sour garlic sauce <br/>Steamed Buns

This restaurant does chongquing style cuisine of which I'm not a fan though I'm in the minority. We were drawn in by the photographs from the menu outside the restaurant, these types of restaurants in Auckland are affordable and offer great food to their fans. Once inside and seated, we finally got the chance to see the prices, they were not so affordable with no lunch specials or anything. We ordered for 3 people, a seafood dish and a beef n' peppers with black bean sauce dish which came with rice. The food was delicious, though I had a view to the kitchen and was able to watch raw meat being chopped up throughout my meal.

This was really good authentic Sichuan food. Generous portions, very reasonably priced (considering most of Rotorua) clean organized kitchen. Downsides were bright florescent lighting and a bit loud, also limited English of staff but overall very worth a visit, and I will go again next time I'm in town.

The food was great! The prices are more expensive than auckland. Manager/owner had unhappy face :(<br/><br/>Kitchen looked clean too which was a good sign. We ordered 5 dishes split between 4 people because we already ate, the counter lady possibly owner kept asking us "was that it?" "Is that it?" Like we were too poor to eat her food. My friends found it offensive. I didn't care coz I'm rich. <br/><br/>Anyways. I wold have given them 4 or 5 stars if the service was better even if the food was higher than auckland. <br/><br/>Service: 0/5<br/>Food Quality: 4.5/5<br/>Food Quantity: 4/5<br/>Environment: 5/5<br/>Price: $25+pp

Terrible service. Completely ignored. Waited 45mins and no food. In the end we gave up waiting. Several tables came in after us and they all got there food.<br/>The attitude of can't be bothered.

Ok.. I'm back again.. although this place is on the expensive side it is bloody good.. the toilet is embracing all the Sichuan goodness as I write.. just delishoush.. do it.. Sichuan your tongue and innards and outards.. it's more than rotorua deserves.. the porcelain is grateful for the experience. Sprognic <br/><br/>If you like hot flavoursome Chinese food this is the place to go. Fast service. Great tasting dishes. The beer stewed duck is a personal favorite. Try it.

as a Chinese, i would say here is the top 3 sichuan cuisine you can find in New Zealand. forgot the sour and sweet Chinese takeways. we don't barely eat those in China!

Very good authentic Sichuan food. If you want sweet and sour pork, fried rice, etc this place isn't for you. If you want spicy Chinese food it's ideal. We had spicy pork, bean sprouts, pork with noodles and a pork and vege spout. The food was delicious. It's a busy place that is a bit noisy.
