Review Carl's Jr. - Rotorua

Stopped in for dinner and was not disappointed. Got a special combo which had the onion rings and milkshake as a part of the deal. Enjoyed it all, everything was nice and hot.

Amazing fresh food imagine Maccas but bigger fresher and tastes absolutely amazing. Get in to Carls Junior today. For a meal experience you will never forget it is better value than like businesses. And actually healthy

Amazing taste but the service staff are pathetic. There was a Chinese lady at the counter very rude and not at all help. If a person is new or coming for 1st time it is normal that he/she wont be aware of the menu so they should help n guide. Very much unhappy 🙁

2/6/23 @ approx. 6pm, We just went through the drive through to order 2x Western Bacon burger combo with 5x chicken tenders and a Bacon and Aoli Criss Cut combo and it was cooked ABSOLUTELY PERFECTLY. ALL of it was delicious and cooked to PERFECTION, ALL staff working tonight need to be praised as you ALL have done an amazing job. ALL of it was ABSOLUTELY YUMMY We surley will be back.

The staff is friendly and serving. Yeah, its a fast food chain with so much pressure yet they do well. Coming to food, always the best. Famous Star, Classic Carl, Original Angus, Western Bacon and Oreo Shake. Plus, the manager gave me discount. Thanks. Recommended.

Good presentation of food just found the service a little slow and could of been more thorough with clearing and wiping tables

The wait time here is ridiculous! I have never come here and waited less then 15mins for food. Hubby loves this place for the meaty burgers though 😑

We must have arrived just before the weekday lunch rush as we managed to get our order in before queues started forming at the counter. <br/><br/>The burgers are never as big as they look in the promo shots and the All Star meal deal is a case in point, with the burgers looking particularly shrunken! The highlight of the meal was the Oreo shake and refillable L&P. What do you expect for $10.90 though?

How hard is it to make your food hot, not lukewarm / cold?? Got the California double cheese burger and the chilli cheese fries. I was amazed that every part of both dishes was cold. Patties lukewarm and unappetising in look and texture, bun and fillings cold. Fries were not even hot enough to melt the cheese which sat on top looking sad. The chilli (mince meat) was fridge cold. Just hoping I don't get food poisoning :( I didn't realise they didn't make their patties fresh but realised they're actually in a warmer which perhaps isn't turned up hot enough? Guy behind the counter was really nice though :)

Every time I come to Rotorua Carl's Jr is a must have. Probably the best tasting "fast food" burger joint there is. <br/>Oreo shake is one of the best I have ever tasted. Burger succulent juicy and scrumptious. Their nacho potato stack thing (you could opt to swap the fries for this) was awesome. <br/>Yes I do agree with the other reviewers. It does take quite a while for your order to come out. Is it worth it??? In my opinion definitely YES!!!.<br/>Carl's Jr, please come to Wellington.

The back story : Carl's Junior - a famous American brand - has settled nicely in the NZ scene popping up in many cities throughout NZ. Rotorua was no exception. Wanting to have some snacks on the way for the road - we stopped by the Carl's Junior.<br/><br/>Setting: located in what appeared to be the Fast Food area in Rotorua next to the McDonald's, Pizza Hut and Cobb n Co. , Carl's Jnr was easily visible. The drive through was a little convoluted but the menu was otherwise clear and easy to order from. The wait was reasonable - about 5 minutes - so despite other reviews suggesting it being slow, we didn't find this a problem though it was only 11.30am on a Sunday. Staff were clear and repeated the order for us.<br/><br/>Food: The usual Carls Jnr menu options were there with the burger choices. The crisscross fries are however one of my favourite - with a thicker texture like wedges but with more crunch from the crisscross cut, plus being able to retain more seasoning and flavour with the cut. These were no exception and well done though at $3.50 might seem a bit pricey for potato.<br/><br/>Occasion : Fast food option with some specialty options such as fried zucchini and crisscross fries.<br/><br/>Revisit potential : when required for fast food

Best Carl's in nz, those Oreo milkshakes are worth the 3 hour drive down from auckland. The burgers are delicious too! The waiting time can be a bit long but as soon as you have that first sip of their Oreo milkshake aka liquid heaven, all is forgiven.

Fast food my butt, both times ive been ive sat in the drive through for 20-25minute plus some!!! Ridiculous, i would choose any other but here!

Went to Rotorua today to try out this place ... dont go there. Burger nothing like the picture or menu. Over sauced and luke warm. Bathroom filthy and disappointing experience all round. Will never go back. Staff not friendly or helpful at all.

We went for a late lunch, hadn't been to one before. The crew member was very friendly and helpful explaining all the different options for meals and combos. Our food was a great temperature and tasted fresh. Customer service was excellent he even came over to check i was happy with our meals. Restaurant and toilets were all clean.

We have used the drive through twice now, and as someone else said the service is so slow, that when you get the meal it is actually cold!!!!! They really do need to buck up their ideas, because based on these two experiences we will not go there again!

We went on the opening night and it was good - i like how they give you a number and bring it out to you - saves waiting at the counter - the chips were nice and good how you can get your own drinks - we didn't have to wait ages in line and our order was correct. I like the seats and lights and TV with music, all restaurants need time to get adjusted and staff are learning but we found them to be good.

I went into Carls Jnr today (26/09/13) through the drive-thru thinking it would be a quicker option. Half an hour later I got my order. Ok, should be mean!.......Unwrap my burger to find a PRODUCT STICKER inside the wrapper, stuck to the bottom of my burger bun.!!! What the hell is wrong with this? Called Carls JnR, spoke to a young lady there who quite frankly didn't seem to give a damn. Offered a replacement or vouchers which I turned down as I WILL NEVER BE BACK. Disgusting dirty place, with staff that obviously do not care at all.

I went to Carl Juniors tonight I was quite disappointed I asked to order 2 thick bourbon burger combo's. I was told they had no bacon or sauce, and that I could still purchase the burgers with a different sauce. I asked if I would get it cheaper because it had no bacon and was told no I would need to pay full price. I then changed my order to the Portobello mushroom combos which were advertised on the drive through board as $11.50 per combo. Got to the window and was told my order was $25.00 for the two combos. Caution check the price you are being charged. I ended up leaving empty handed and very hungry but thankyou McDeez. Very disappointed CJ's get it right beautiful burgers but not happy.

I went to Carl's Jr in Rotorua tonight and was very disappointed. I asked for a Portobello Thick and received a Guacamole Thick. I rung directory to get their phone number and was told they don't have a listing in Rotorua. I went on google and got their phone number and tried to ring them 3 times. The phone rung about 50 rings each time and finally on the third try someone answered the phone. When I asked why the phone did not get answered for so long the young girl replied because we were too busy to hear it!!!!!!! This is the first time I have been to this restaurant and first impressions certainly did not make me want to go back any time soon. Very sad considering they have not been open very long.
