We had our booking at this nice place. And while the kiddos were enjoying their snow ❄️ adventure at the snowplanet, we were also having fun watching them from where we were dining. The food was good. Friendly staff and quick service. We definitely had fun as the room was reserved for our group.

On behalf of our coffee group Hibiscus coffee and chat, I highly recommend the Summits restaurant at Snow Planet for their food and service. We were a group of 30 people who had are Xmas dinner here 13th December 2023, the buffet food was excellent and excellent price, we couldn’t fault the whole night , the tables were decorated with Xmas themes and crackers, the service was amazing specially Dawn our hostess she was very attentive throughout the whole evening. This is the 3rd time we have enjoyed a group booking and will be back again, lovely atmosphere while dining here. Highly recommended 10/10

We booked The Chalet and it was an amazing experience! We had the Fondue for 8 people! The food was delicious, the chalet was cozy and private and the service was amazing! Our host, Dawn, was very friendly and so kind! We absolutely loved it and we’ll be back!

Came in yesterday, was quite disappointed to see half the menu was gone compared to what was on there website. Not much to choose from, pretty average options. However the food was cooked well and all came out pretty fast.

Can for both a birthday and Xmas function. Great food and drinks Loved the DJ night as he played cool music. Also been up over Xmas holidays as kids skiing. Great food options and staff are very pleasant.

Great spot to have a coffee after a ski. You certainly pay for the view of the ski field when you purchase a beer. $14 is pretty steep for a beer. But food looks good and the facilities are appealing and clean.

I took my Gregarious Grannies to 7 Summits restaurant at Snow planet for our Christmas lunch yesterday . We had a buffet lunch with the most delicious ham and roast lamb , plus all the trimmings . With pavlova and Christmas pud to follow. This was excellent in, service , presentation , atmosphere . everything was so great . Will definitely go back for our Mid Winter Christmas but will also suggest this venue for all the other groups that I belong to. Thanks to Nigel and the Chef . They did a marvelous job.

Was a great experience. Especially the flat white, was one of the best coffees I have had in a long time. And the staff here was quite welcoming. Looking forward to organise my son's birthday party here.😊

I love the food here! It's awesome. I can't ski so it beats starving while I wait for kids - in fact it's usually a feast. Highly recommended.

Nice food, friendly staff. It’s just great to enjoy some food while watching people ski/snowboard. Awesome experience.

Quite disappointing. We waited close to 50 minutes for our food (granted there are a lot of people)...but my pork belly dish came literally came with 3 pieces - but 2 of which are pure fat, one of which has a thin layer of lean meat. I questioned this and the initial reaction I got from one lady wait staff was a look like “are you crazy?” look and she told me that that’s what pork belly is like. In the end they changed it but that was another 25 minutes wait. And they forgot the salad. Nightmare.

Snowplanet is a popular destination in Auckland for those who wants to enjoy winter sports without travelling to South Island’s snow-capped mountains, it is also popular with kids who wants to have fun times playing around artificial snow and bobsledding down its slopes. During the last couple of weekends that’s what my daughter did along with some friends, but for me while I don’t hate the snow, I don’t really know any winter sports to enjoy it but what I did enjoy is having some bar food and drinks while the kids play.

Was at snowplanet for one of my friends kids parties so we decided to grab some lunch. I got the acai bowl and my friend had the belgium waffles. It took so long to come out and the presentation of my acai bowl was so underwhelming. The granola looked so plain & cheap and the bananas were brown. It tasted way too sweet and the granola was just oats and raisins, the raisins were so hard felt like I was biting into a rock each time I had one. We were quite disappointed with our meals and thought it came out to be pretty expensive for such basic items. Considering this is the only place to eat in Snowplanet it is really underwhelming and I think they could do so much better.

Came in for a late lunch after snowboarding today. Ordered the fish bites and chips. Really loved the panko bread crumbs that were used to coat the fish bites. Fries were crispy and food came out relatively fast.

A convenient place to satisfied your hunger after skiing. Food was okay but lack of service. Prefer their thin crust pizza but the rockgrill dining was kinda disappointing in taste and portion. The biggest drawback is that their table seems to have weird smell......

Service was not very good although the staff were quite friendly, they were quite busy I guess. I tried to help myself to a menu but could not find one even on the tables so I just did not bother to any food, just settled for some coffee. It took quite a while to come, good thing I was just there killing time while waiting for some friends. I got confused if they attempted to make a design on it but I found it more amusing than anything.

We had our lunch there after playing snow in Snow Planet.

The restaurant was very busy and noisy cause too many people there spending their time waiting for their family members in the Snow Planet. This was the downside of all. Very difficult to get a table of no reservation.

We had stone grilled beef and fish and chips. The stone grilled beef for kid was only $19!
With that quality of meal, the price was consider cheap.

We returned for the beef once and the food was so delicious but lately we found out that they have changed their menu. We could not find the stone grill anymore...

Visited for brunch with a different view.. first time here.. atmosphere was great, very family friendly.. we ordered the beef burger with cross cut chips.. very nicely presented although im not a fan of food on a board.. beetroot relish was amazing, burger was a bit messy to eat with hands and a knife n fork but tastes great although would've liked it better if the size of the pattie matched the size of the bun, would've made eating, less messy..but definitely would visit again

We had 4 meals. The burgers were excellent, the special fish was very nice but the special Thai salad was horribly over sauced and my wife could not finish it.

Pizzas are good too (subsequent visit)

An ideal for one who prefers to watch rather than play but does 7 Summits pull it off?

With panoramic windows providing diners with a full view of the slope, you don't get a better cafe view merely an hour out of the CBD.

And I'll hand it to them, 7 Summits has quite an extensive menu. From Breakfast and Burger options to Light Meals and Specialties they don't miss much. They even have a cocktail list.

Although the website boasts that 7 Summits is a world-class restaurant, I'm inclined to think that's a bit of an exaggeration. I mean if you are looking for a slope side retreat this place won't make the cut. Instead you'll feel as if you were dropped into the middle of a busy playground - especially during the holidays. During the school beak, service is zero to none. It's obvious the kitchen simply can't handle the large volume of orders and staff struggle with clearing tables and food running.

That being said, have a late night session mid-term and it can actually be rather enjoyable. When the slope is a bit quieter and so is the restaurant the service isn't half bad. Grab a spot next to the fire and watch as skiers glide down the snow slope - it can actually be quite therapeutic.

Don't go with high expectations in regards to the food. It's good for what it is and that's about it, again, not world-class.

Overall there are a few rules if you want to experience the best of what 7 Summits has to offer.

1. Avoid visiting during the school break.
2. Don't have high expectations regarding the food.
3. And order the curly fries! They're highly recommended.

Sarah Reynolds #challenge

I went here to warm up before going skating and snowboarding with my friends. It is a really cool bar. Some of the chairs and tables are designed uniquely as they looked like an old snow cart (too pity I didn't take a photo of that).

We ordered a mochaccino for me, a jar of beer for my friends, and apple pie for our dessert. For the main menu, we ordered the chicken wings which were served with warm, yummy wedges and sour cream. The mochaccino was nice, only one size available (large only) and came with a piece of marshmallow and one sugar bag. The apple pie was to die for! It was really delicious. Imagine eating a warm apple pie, served with three little scoops of cream and one big scoop of vanilla ice cream. What I like about it that the apple pie was not that sour and it balanced the sweetness of the ice cream. The chicken wings and wedges are quite nice as well. I couldn't stop dipping the wedges into the sour cream and eat them straight away.

The price was normal for their level although I think it was a bit expensive for me. The only complaint that I had is the service. The waitress was a little bit ignorant, they just put the order to the table and walked away. No chit chat or asking about what they could help with. However, I don't want to be too fussy about that since the food was nice.

This is the only bar we have in Snowplanet. We would better have a good meal before going skating/snowboarding as we need more energy to survive in the arena which is below zero degree Celsius.

Now called 7 Summits..... Had a great day at Snowplanet yesterday - apart from lunch. Hubby ordered fish & chips ... the fish looked like frozen battered fish from the supermarket, chips were dry, and the side salad was drowned to oblivion in dressing. I had the creamy brie, bacon and spinach bake. It was really bland, and the sauce it was in, was really sloppy. The bread on the side came with no butter. At $15 per meal, we expected more ... this is not good value.
On the plus side, we didn't have to wait to long for our food, but I guess that was because it was pre-prepared.

I recommend if you go to Snowplanet to take your own food... that's what we'll be doing next time!

snow planet cafe and restaurant is a great disappointment their service is really bad and their food is no better. DON"T BOTHER COMING! The hill is really small and is really busy during the week. They charge high prices on the menu and the tickets for the snow when it is as bad as Mcdonalds or worse don't waste your money here!

Amazing food, great value for money! Friendly staff , and what an awesome view to look at whilst eating your lunch!

What a disappointment!

We decided to bring our under 3's to Snowplanet for the first time. After an hour they were all pretty cold so we decided to have an early lunch in the Cafe.

We were told by both staff and management that the toddlers were not allowed to have their healthy lunch in the cafe, even though us 5 adults were purchasing food and drinks.

They offered us Fish & Chips and informed us that they are cooked fresh so therefore they are healthy!?!? Obviously, they don't have children of their own!

We gave them an option of either allowing the toddlers to eat their healthy sandwiches, whilst we spent approx $150 on our own food and drink OR not to have our custom. They chose the latter, so we left and went into Orewa and had an amazing lunch at Kaizen, spending over $200 on food and wine. I am sure they were grateful of the money!

The experience with the Cafe, ruined my daughter's birthday (I didn't even get to see her open her presents as I was talking to the 'Manager') and I don't think we will bother driving 1.5 hours to visit Snowplanet again (and their 'snow' staff were great!)

I do not recommend going to the Snowplanet Cafe - they obviously don't need the money anyway ...
