Beautiful presentation and yummy kai with the best service. It's a must visit destination when travelling through this place.

Had a breakfast of French Toast and coffee. Both were excellent. Staff were welcoming. Will definitely call in again next time I'm passing.

The cafe stack was Devine and they made the best pot of tea. Mind youi asked them to double bag me

Came here to get some breakfast. I ordered the bacon and eggs on toast which was very good. The eggs were cooked to perfection and the toast was some of the best that I've ever had. The portion was also very good and the meal was reasonably priced. To drink I got a hot chocolate which again was excellent. Overall I'd highly recomend coming here if in Taihape and passing through to get something to eat.

An excellent Cafe to stop at, for a break, while travelling north or south. A good selection of food and excellent coffee. The staff were attentive and friendly and of course I got to meet the house cat

An absolute gem! The staff were incredibly warm, welcoming and friendly. Our meals were delicious, fresh and great sizes. The menu was great and the cabinet good looked scrumptious too.

This is a neat and clean place, it is rustic themed. Food is good and servings are big portions. The desserts attracted me the moment we went in. The fish and chips served with greens and fries was more than enough for me but I could not resist the dessert so we shared a slice of the lemon meringue. The servers are nice. Price is reasonable.

Came here for breakfast. The staff are super friendly, scrambled eggs excellent and well priced. Cabinet food looks delicious. A lot was GF free. The staff know all the locals by name. Frankie the Persian cat was lying next to us and loves his neck rubbed. Would recommend and definitely come come back next time we are passing through.

An awesome place to stop, load up on caffeine and avoid drooling as you decide which item to purchase from their packed glass cabinet of goodies... Staff typically dressed and made up as if going out for the evening, and super friendly. The final reason you know the place is great - cause the toilets are clean. 10/10

We have frequented Cafe Telephonique several times on our way up and down the country. Yesterday we had a super delicious breakfast beautifully presented and Uber tasty as with all our other stops. Sitting out the back in their lovely courtyard you could be absolutely anywhere. The whole place is "tastefully" done right down to rugs for your knees if you're cold (where else would you get that) This little cafe is amazing, right up there with the best. Go try for yourself.

GREAT FOOD and SERVICE! Just had a wonderful meal. Rare steak with blue cheese sauce and roasted veg with homemade bread, chevre and balsamic olive oil. Plenty of yummy sarnies and quiches too. Stopped by on way through from Wellington to Tauranga. Eat here and you won't be disappointed. Thank you for the lovely surprise little cafe in Taihape. Yum yum yum!!

Recently stopped in at this great little cafe in Taihape on our way back from Taupo and I had a delicious 'Raw Salad with Smoked Chicken'. I also love the Oatey Caramel Slice - but was being good this time.

Would have been nice to know there was something (chilli?!) in my coconut/pumpkin soup... couldn't eat it.. Service was terrible... sorry but I won't be returning. Best thing about the visit was running into an old friend while we were both passing thru!!

Coffee was not great :( regular is like a dolls cup - wouldn't have ordered that size if I had realised. Ordered the wedges - sour cream only??? no sweet chilli sauce or tomato sauce and no cutlery or serviettes for us..... long wait - décor is lovely, service was not so flash either. Not sure I will stop here again.

I usually stop here going North then back South, it's usually good but this time I was unusually disappointed. The coffee is still good but this time the prices seemed to have taken a extraordinary hike up and frankly $8.50 for a slice of so called cheesecake, which I couldn't even eat, has put me off coming back.

Consistently fantastic food and coffee. The staff here are always fantastic too.

Lovely decor. Great coffee. Accommodating to my request of a half portion however the omelette was dripping in oil.
