Although not one of the best Hot chocolate places I have been to- but overall it was good and very economical
Okey, in overall a really nice place. But I think it’s quite dated. Either the menu or the design should be renewed. The waffles are amazing. The chocolate ice cream is really nice. Coffee are average.
Felt like something sweet so I went over to House of Chocolate to get my fix 🤩 Ordered the Iced Chocolate and Caramel slice 🍫 The iced chocolate looked super decadent and rich but was surprisingly not overly sweetened. I give it the ultimate Asian compliment of “not too sweet” 😆 The caramel slice base had coconut mixed in which I really enjoyed! 🥥 The caramel slice wasn’t as mind blowing as Ripe Deli’s (still one of my fav caramel slices) but it definitely hit the spot!
P.S I was majorly craving House of Chocolate on Queens Birthday and got near the city when I realised THEY ARE CLOSED ON MONDAYS?! 😩😠😭 BLASPHEMY, a total crime. After I found out, I went to kfc and got wicked wings instead 😂 IT ISS WHAT IT ISS
If you are craving for chocolates then this place might fix it, just the name alone says a lot about this place. They serve desserts using finest ingredients like 53% couverture chocolate, free range eggs, Pure NZ ice cream and freshly whipped cream. The prepare Liege Waffles which is made every morning using authentic ingredients then left for 24 hours to proof. They also sell savoury waffles, open sandwiches, drinks, cakes, ice cream and most important of all Chocolates. Their chocolate cabinet is always full of their latest creations so you can choose your own, but these change on a regular basis, so you have to check it once in a while to try what’s new on offer.
These Bonbon chocolates were the highlight of my weekend feeds! These bonbons are small but powerful treats. The runny salted caramel literally melts in your mouth 🤩 bursting flavors (light blue one, with white chocolate shell), it definitely made an impression! I cannot wait to try more flavors from House of Chocolate, these eye candies are just perfect for the upcoming holiday season 🎅🏼😋☺️
💲Price $48 (16 piece bonbon selection)

📍Takapuna
definitely an amazing place for dessert recommended highly good vast range of desserts to try and located in the heart of takapuna. follow their Instagram page too
My girlfriend took me here the other day. She had already tried most of their flavours and had masterfully crafted her own waffle combination that she finds is perfect.
So we had the naked waffle with salted caramel and mascapone. This combination was not too sweet but tasted amazing.
We had a raspberry herbal tea with it which complimented it nicely.
I would definitetly be back for more in the future.

Service - 3.5
A nice dessert cafe. Ordered the hazelnut waffles, and the waffles were homemade, and ice cream was creamy. Hardly any hazelnuts were used in their homemade nutella though (of which a very small portion is given), which was a bit disappointing.
Food is delicious although pricey. Still our favourite place for a treat

After dinner, we were craving dessert so we decided to check out the House of Chocolate. This indeed was probably the best dessert I have ever had. You were allowed to choose the type of ice cream you wanted inside of your ball of chocolate and it came with bits of brownie inside as well. (PS. I suggest going with the chocolate sorbet as it is dairy-free but honestly has a much better chocolate flavor in my opinion than the regular chocolate// also if you are gonna have chocolate may as well go all out). Since the chocolate was so tasty we decided we would be back around Christmas times to grab some packages for our mothers. 10/10 recommend.
The place is full of chocolate and cakes! The chocolates looked so delicate. We ordered a cake and a chocolate shake, they were tasty. The price is not sharp, especially the cakes, very affordable! The service was friendly and fast despite being busy.
It is next to a few Korean cuisine restaurants, so we got our main and dessert all at the same stretch of shops, which was very convenient!
I visited here with a friend while in NZ for work. We had dinner elsewhere and stopped here for a dessert treat. The selection was huge and difficult to decide which to get. We settled in the end on sticky date pudding and banoffee alaska. Both did not at all disappoint - totally delectable. While here it was busy but it was a Thursday night. If you're in the area, it's well worth stopping with friends for a treat.
We had planned to come here for dessert once we knew we were having dinner in the area.
The place was full when we got there but the tables outside were empty so we just sat out in the cold. We got menus and once ready ordered inside. There are quite a few options, from the pre made desserts, to the amazing waffles, to the special desserts like the chocolate ball.
As expected the chocolate ball came out with hot chocolate sauce which you drizzle over the ball to release the ice cream. It was super sweet and super tasty. Only thing I didn't like were the pineapple pieces since they were quite sour. Everything else was nice. i have a real sweet tooth so it was nice for me but it might be a bit too rich for others if they eat it by themselves.
Always a treat when we come by.
Edit: Waffles are nice. Good crisp on the outside. The vegan chocolate ball was very dark and not very sweet.
Amazing design of chocolates and desserts, a nice cafe with wide selections for a sweet tooth. Great service from the staff too..
Highly recommend. Friendly staff and delicious desserts. The chocolate cake is moist and very tasty. My favourite bonbon flavours are the "passion & plum sherbet" and the "blueberry" in a heart format but I guess this one is special for mother's Day as I couldn't find at the menu. Ps.: The picture is the "black forest dessert" not the chocolate cake.
Super packed place with a wait time of 30-40 minutes for the kitchen on Friday night. We decided to have the cabinet menu instead with coffee. Tasted good but was a bummer as we have had other dessert in the past which were super fancy and we were hoping to have some of those from the kitchen menu.
Delightful nicely presented desserts in North Shore area. The portions are huge. It is good to share one plate between two people otherwise it might be too much. The chocolate ball is my favourite from their selection. You can also get variety of chocolate bonbons and bars to take home.
Amazing place for any sweet lovers. The chocolate ball was the highlight however, we would recommend sharing one as even as a chocoholic I had to throw in the towel around 3/4 of the way through. Really amazing and beautiful insides of the venue
Awesome waffles and beverage. Friendly staff and a romantic atmosphere at dinner with dim lighting. Perfect for a date night. Highly recommend their chocolate drinks and ice cream too.
Came here twice and will definitely come back again in the future! Just an absolute delicious treat for afternoon tea time. Or really anytime. Waffles were exceptionally mouth watering. Just a delight honestly
