Had an afternoon coffee with food. Coffee was great, food ok, service good. Parking is limited.

Inexpensive prices compared to other cafes, but good food, coffee and attentive service. We enjoyed the coffee art design on our coffees, a nice touch you don't often see. Recommended.

A nice simple cafe just opposite North Shore hospital. Easy to access from Smales Farm bus station. The big breakfast (as per the pictures below) was pretty worth it for 18 bucks but just to be aware that the kitchen stops cooking at 2pm.

Best eggs Benedict I've had in a long time. Perfectly cooked salmon and eggs with tasky smashed potatoes.

there's plenty of cafes near the hospital, but this one serves up mean coffee every time. really friendly staff, great cabinet food and menu too!

Love the ice mocha here, the curry lamb pastry is also nice

I bought a gluten free fruit and nut loaf and it was really dry. Not gluten-free dry, but stale dry - it had white patches like you see on stale bread throughout the inside of it. I'm not one to complain at all as I don't like confrontation, but I thought I would be brave and say something for once. So I went back and told the girl at the counter that it was really dry and basically inedible. She was very apologetic and offered me a refund, which I accepted. However, when she asked the boss, I overheard the boss say no and that the loaf was supposed to be dry. I could hear the young girl defending me but the boss wasn't budging so in the end the girl grabbed her bag and said she would pay me back herself. I intervened and went up to the boss myself who continued to keep working, ignoring me, until I prompted her. She said, as I had overheard, that she makes the loaf dry (???) so she couldn't give me a refund. She offered to replace it but there were no gluten free slices left so I took something for my partner. I am really appalled at the way the boss runs the cafe. Even if the slice wasn't dry, the cardinal rule in hospitality is that the customer is always right. She was rude and unapologetic. I felt really sorry for the young girl on the counter who has to follow the orders of a boss who has no idea on how to run a cafe and hides away in the kitchen, leaving the service people to deal with the unhappy customers. She was lovely, too good to be working there in my opinion. I will not be going back there again and I spoke to 2 others today who said they would not go back either because they said it was far too overpriced for what it was.

The food is fantastic, and being able to eat outside without having our meal ruined by smokers was an extra benefit. Very friendly people and the most AMAZING hot chocolate I have ever had!

I found this to be one of the worst places I have ever been.<br/><br/>Such yummy looking food and nice atmosphere ruined by the fact that we were held in line for up to 10minutes because a girl who could not speak English was serving, the one English speaking person was not only helping serve but making the coffee and doing the food clearly rushed off her feet.<br/>Another staff member finally arrived and he took over so the English speaking girl could serve us, but when we got our meals and drinks the coffee was warm and the tall asain man was not only rude but very unapologetic.<br/><br/>This is probably one of the worse run cafes I have seen and don't understand how it can still be in business.

Great place to eat and staff are not rude at all, they are sometimes run off their feet but are always cordial. They may not always give a big, false smile when serving you, but they do work hard and help any customer when asked. The food is fantastic.

It has been our delight to lunch daily at Bar Italia over the past couple of years and their "food" experience never fails to deliver. It delivers on all levels - ambience; food taste and presentation; and excellent service. Extensive selection of salads, full meals, and sweet delights. Coffee is grunty, hot and delicious. Feeding the public always requires a level of passion ; some cafes reach that level - others never do. Steve, Clare and their staff have always, in all the time we have been eating there, exceeded that level. <br/><br/>And no.....we don't have a financial interest in Bar Italia. Just extremely happy clientelle !

Great atmosphere and decor. Very good service and friendly staff. We had a large group and all food came out at relatively the same time and was delicious! Wish I had discovered this place sooner!
