Review Rusty Nail Tavern - Taumarunui

Travelling the North Island on holiday and came across this beautiful pub. Service was amazing, greeted with a huge smile from who I presume was the owner. Outstandingly friendly and welcoming. Ordered a beer and burger which was delicious and my partner ordered a steak which was cooked to perfection. I don't write many reviews but I couldn't go past this gem of a place.

Dint get the name of the person at the counter. With a pleasant smile he welcomed and when I asked for a drink out of normal menu for my wife (she is carrying) . He immediately said will prepare it and served the drink. Good service and tasty food.

We absolutely love coming here. It's a great little place. Food is amazing and so are the staff are brilliant and so helpful. Definitely recommend!

While the exterior is a little rough and the atmosphere a bit rural, the service and food is top notch. Great burgers and a fine panead ale to wash it down

Liked the look of this place. Not too busy when we came in for a drink but the very friendly staff told us that it gets busy after 5 and on weekends. Very good location.

Quirky decorations and great service at the Pub with no beer cafe. Great coffee and toasted sandwiches. We even some complimentary food!

Awesome meals. We only discovered this place by accident and we're so glad we did. Value for money meals and a nice selection.

Brilliant host and great beers. Unfortunately when we visited some dozen idiots had ram raided the atm and ruined the frontage of the bar.

It looked like a standard well kept pub walking in, but the food exceeded expectations and we had a variety, so they seem to do a number of things really well. Easy to recommend.

Awesome Service, great food. Tonight I had the roast pork”yum!!” Great taste great quantity… what more can you ask for, roast potatoes, kumara, pumpkin. peas. All this for only $22 which also includes desert… I didn’t have the desert I could not fit in in. Highly recommend.

Great food. Owner and staff are a delight. We had the roast pork…. Portion sizes were huge. Would highly recommend to all the Taumarunui locals for a wonderful meal out and any visitors to our town.

May 2023: Decent pub food, nice beers on tap. Nothing fancy but very decent.

First time I've had a meal from Lumberjacks in a while and I just want to say... It was delicious! My son's enjoyed their dinner and we will definitely be back for more. Steak meal was on point. Compliments to the chef.

Very delicious Pasta in cream sauce. A must try !!
