We travel around NZ. and this woukd have given us the BEST big breakfast ever. Everything was perfect. Fluffy scrambled eggs, bacon that was soft to suit one toothless wonder, the creamiest best ever mushmroom medley... it really was worth a trip back to Taupo for breakfast alone.

It was a quick stopover on Intercity bus. We managed to grabbed a chicken sandwich and a mince pie. The sandwich was very hearty but the pie was average. Service was great and that’s a big plus.

The breakfast and coffee was consistently excellent. But the most inviting aspect was the front staff member still setting up. They invited me to enter and offered music and coffee whilst he setup. I didn't have to wait in the car, or outside if I was a 'customer using public transport'. Google 'hours' don't seem to differentiate for public holiday hours, so it's this 'inclusivity' in service that I missed elsewhere. Google should make the distinction, to achieve the same service I get from Google navigation.
One small issue. I'd prefer a shallow plate and not a deep bowl for Eggs Benedict.

Loved the food and service the first time I was here a month ago and now back here with some friends. Same outstanding service by the staff and of course the food was absolutely delicious. We had coffee, milkshakes, and smoothie as well and we all enjoyed it. Everything is reasonably priced and totally worth it. A cafe that's not to be missed when in Taupo.

Our favourite Taupo cafe to stop at. The service is always great. The food is crowd-pleasing but still nourishing - the meals come with a decent portion of salad/veg, they use good quality ingredients, and the milkshakes aren't sickly sweet.

Great little spot for coffee and breakfast. We tried some of their new coffee creations, and they were really good, with a bit of a kick to them. The Eggs Benedict was great, and the beef mince tasted fantastic. Service was also very good. The interior looked fairly modern and had a nice unique vibe to it.

Since arriving in Taupo, I have gone to Bodyfuel Cafe for breakfast and lunch everyday. Their food /coffee/ smoothies EVERYTHING !!!is delicious and healthy. Also the staff and service is second to none. It's hard to find places like this when you are travelling before a sports event like Ironman New Zealand. Just love it. ��

On my New Zealand holiday I had time to grab some breakfast before I went jet boating. I selected this place from the ratings on TripAdvisor and the photos.
I bought the French toast and a coffee.
Nice mixture of savoury with sweet, good portion and didn't sit too heavy on the stomach. Coffee was brewed well and was nice and strong. Good protein feed!

I love this cafe! I stop here whenever I'm passing through Taupo or every morning when I'm staying in the city. The coffee is fantastic and this due to the highly professional approach they take to their 'barista-ship'. The Barista is even happy to talk through the coffee making process with you while you wait if you're curious about what they're up to! The cabinet food for those in a hurry is delicious and fresh; the menu food is also delicious and comes out quickly from the kitchen so you're not waiting long.<br/><br/>The staff are friendly; the cafe is warm, tidy and clean; and the location is perfect for a quick stop if you're on the road or a chill out if you're busy shopping.<br/><br/>Highly recommended.

Fantastic food, great service, really high quality food and the coffee is the best I've had in ages. I spent 3 weeks in Taupo over Christmas and went to most cafes (see my other reviews) - this is by far the best. I highly recommend the Eggs Benedict with slow cooked pork belly but everything I tried was top quality. This will definately be my cafe of choice in Taupo.

7 of us went for breakfast on boxing day and the breakfasts were delicious and came out in a timely fashion. Eggs Benedict was of a high standard. My husband's French toast was a little soggy..but other than that everybody enjoyed immensely.

Four of us went to the cafe and the service and food was pleasant except that I asked what was in the banana bread as I don't eat grains and the girl asked the owner. His response was to come over and unpleasantly tell me that I should not have asked what was in the food as he has spent thousands of dollars on perfecting his recipes and that lots of people want his recipes and he is not about to tell anyone what he puts in his food.<br/>I informed him nicely that I was interested in eating his food, not making it. His manner was unpleasant and inappropriate so I will never go back, the others enjoyed it.

Not a bad effort..<br/>Went as a group of seven so was not easy fitting us in with small tables. Also the place was so HOT was sweating just sitting still and felt cramped.<br/><br/>Some of the food we received was fantastic.. The Corn Fritters and the Eggs Benedict were very nicely done. The French toast was well below average.<br/>Coffee is great though, not burnt and nice and hot.

Great sweet afterwards and coffee was very good.<br/><br/>Service very good, and atmosphere excellent.<br/><br/>If this cafe was in Hamilton where I am from then it would be one of the best ones (and yes, we have some very good cafes!!).<br/><br/>Thoroughly recommended.

Without a doubt, the BEST cafe in Taupo, and probably North Island to be fair, and I do frequent quite a few!<br/>It's always a MUST when we're in Taupo, especially when doing many of the events in Taupo that we do (Ironman, 1/2 marathons, Round Taupo, etc)<br/>The food selection is amazing, and so nutritional, and a nice touch with the coffees coming with a cinnamon almond :)<br/>Great service always, whether it be early coffees or late lunches!

I have never felt compelled to write a review before.Yesterday after the most shocking display of 'cafe rage' from the man behind the counter I felt I had to. A very simple case of delivering the wrong flavour smoothie ,saw the gentlemen behind the counter begin a tirade of abusive behavior that was... disturbing and threatening. <br/>My friends and I left in a state of shock.<br/>Regardless of the fact it was indeed their error , his behavior was totally unacceptable.<br/>I have travelled all over the world and never experienced anything like it, just as well Taupo has plenty of other good options!

Maybe I was at a different place yesterday? My friends and I have never experienced such abusive rude behaviour from someone working in a cafe. The food may be good but the man behind the counter should really not be there. After a genuine mix up with orders we were treated so appallingly that we left quite upset and quite stunned. Unbelievable that someone in a customer service industry could yell, scream and behave in such an offensive manner all over a banana smoothie! We will not be back and neither will many of our friends that live in the Taupo area.

Crissy and Steve have got to the best hosts ever , we had my wifes 50th ther on sat and had agreat ime the food was plentiful and brilliantly delicious .they even went out of there way to accomondate one of our guest have required a gluten free meal <br/>This has got ot be the most friendly and fmaily orientated cafe in town

visitor to Taupo and went there today for 1st time.<br/>Excellent food - almost too much to choose from. Compares well with other cafe food (we are from Wellington)in price, considering the high quality of the offered food. We had the pasta, the malay orzo and the best carrot cake ever!! Only gripe is that coffee (which was good by the way) arrived first, followed by the mains 10mins later with the Cake - it would've been nice to have the main 1st and enjoy the sweet with the coffee. Also the obsessive lady obtrusively cleaning up constantly was annoying - but we could live with that :)

My husband and I went to Body Fuel for the first time 19 May 2009 and it was FANTASTIC!! Not only was the food delicious, there was plenty of it, and the service was excellent. We were very very impressed, and have passed the word on. We will definitely be coming back the next time we pass thru Taupo.
