While we dined in, I was blown away by the variety of excellent quality sandwiches, rolls, pastries, cakes and other items for takeaway. They all looked great!
Our coffee was excellent. If I was in the area again, I would return just for it!
The mince on toast was a standout with a rich tomato flavour and a good helping of garlic and other herbs. It was served with 2 slices of toast and a good amount of butter. I added roasted tomato and spinach. The creamy mushroom was very generous and tasted better with a generous amount of pepper. The poached rhubarb and yoghurt was a delicious fresh dish.
Was just walking in town when i saw this busy cafe. Thought to give it a try and was surprise to see Nasi lemak in the menu. Its not bad and good try for the chef. Sambal was spicy - maybe need some tamarind juice a bit for the tangy.
We stumbled across Replete Cafe by accident and enjoyed the ambience, latte, walnut brownie, and service by Clement.
The next day we considered going elsewhere for a change and checked out the top-rated cafes on TripAdvisor. Suffice it to say we went back to Replete. It’s bizarre that it’s not No.1, or at least in the top three.
This time we ordered a salad as well as walnut brownie and latte. The bill was NZ$19 which we thought was good value.
Afterwards we looked in their shop within the same premises. They sell a variety of home accessories and their buyer has a good eye. Would have bought something but airline baggage restrictions prohibited…
