Review Mole & Chicken - Taupo

Food was beautiful. My steak was done to my liking. Husband had fish of the day. Beautiful sauce. It was fairly busy and my Hubby had to ask a second time for his drink that was ordered even though mine was delivered.

Fantastic place! We were so tired after completing the Tongariro alpine crossing that wanted to have a nice reward. And the place didn’t let us down. The kids meal was served first with the complementary ice cream. The burger and lamb were delicious. Great selection of beer.

Delicious food - this place deserves its high ratings. Don’t worry that it’s not in the centre of town, it’s busy and lively. Make sure to make a booking on busy nights… like every Friday. The service was very good. My risotto was nice - my wife’s eye fillet one of the nicest either of us have tasted for years. The accompanying vegetables also were delicious.

It was an extremely busy night but the service did not falter. Great range of food and drinks (to be expected from a full bar on offer). Food came out within a reasonable time. The pork belly main was cooked to perfection, and the meat just dissolved! The salad that accompanied the pork belly I thought was too overpowering with vinegar, otherwise great!

Busy, popular, full of locals. Always a good sign.

A nice surprise at evening. Perfect two entrée on every level. Duck wonton is flavourful with perfect skin and filling. The sauce is making the whole dish become a masterpiece to start the night. The garlic bread is one of the best I ever had in New Zealand so far. With adequate seasoning and soft cheese in the middle prepare us for the main course. The main are both above average. The lamb shank is very well done with it's texture and vege mush. The steak is a bit of a disappointment. I ordered median rare but got blue. Over all very good experience will definitely come back again. Especially with very good service they are offering. 9 out of 10. Highly recommended. Thanks again for the awesome services.

A nice and warm restaurant. The staffs are friendly and provide warm greeting. The size of the dishes is quite impressive and the flavor is quite nice (except for a little bit salty for me). I had a steak and my wife had pork ribs. Both of the dishes are nice. The price is reasonable. The atmosphere here was quite relaxed. Overall, a good place to have dinner.

Just wow. This food was impeccable. Completely unexpected and delicious- we struggled to eat it all but couldn’t fault anything with the food. Would dine here again if I was a local!

Clearly a local favorite. Busy at both bar and restaurant, and food was well portioned, and great value. Burger was huge (as you can see) and market fish was super fresh with perfect vegetables. Good wine selection with some craft beers (lakeman). Large variety of menus choices were GF, great!

We were recommended to this place by Baycrest Thermal Lodge. We just wanted a light bite after a long day and it was less than 10 minutes to walk it. Lovely and warm (freezing night) - great welcome, lovely ambience, super friendly service and of course the food was excellent. Thank you and we'll certainly come here again when next we visit Taupo.

Good chose for quality food in Taupo. Dinner time start at 5:30 but they have another menu for afternoon. It was very good which is out of my exception. They also sell Taupo local beer💕

Absolutely best food I have ever had. I had a taste of the won ton, aranchini, duck fat potato, pork belly and they were all incredible. Please open up in Tauranga.

Went to this place on Good Friday but it wasn't too busy and no public holiday surcharge. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful without hovering too much. The food was delicious with good flavours and seasoning. I had the crispy coconut chicken as a meal which was excellent. I highly recommend the chocolate cake for dessert.

5 stars all around. Duck Wontons were to die for! Everything we ate was delicious! Staff were professional! Place was clean and inviting, romantic on the restaurant side but cozy and cheerful on the bar side. A must do in Taupō! Not enough places like this one in NZ!

This place never lets us down . Food is delicious, and serve very friendly. Thanks again for a lovely evening. If you like dark beer, try the Black Duck beer on tap.
