Incredible flavoursome pies. Huge selection of good quality pies here. First time being here and will definitely come back at somestage. I highly recommend if you want a fantastic tasty fulfilled hot pie here. It's more pricey than other places however it's definitely worth the money.
Outstanding pies.
Tasted: Pepper steak in creamy sauce.
Pastry: Buttery, slightly flaky, soft yet crisp. Perfect pastry to filling ratio.
Filling: Generous, not over the top overflowing (which in some instances make it near impossible to eat a pie properly).
Was hoping to try another one, but was too filling.
Worth a brief detour - especially if you are hungry.

Best pies ever. When we come to Taupō we always get pies from here. My favorite is the steak and cheese but to be honest they're all absolutely delicious. A must visit place in Taupo!

Another place where we liked it so much, we came back for round 2 while on vacation!
They just offer a really simple thing, we put delicious filling into our flaky golden yellow pies.
They also have sandwiches, fries, and other things but you come here for those pies!
It’s a cafeteria style service where you get a tray and just slide down from each heated display window to the next. You can pick out the delicious goodies that you want to eat and then pay at the end.
We absolutely adored their flaky crispy pies that had all sorts of different fillings. A lot of classic combinations such as chicken and mushroom, steak & kidney, smoked fish, sweet lamb curry, and butter chicken.
It’s hard to have just one.
I think my favourite thing I discovered there was their double happy roll. What makes it double happy? It was filled with ground beef on one side and creamy mashed potatoes in the other. Yum yum!
There’s nothing fancy about the food but it’s just great great comfort food at a great value. It’s bound to make you smile.
We stopped by to grab some food before heading down to Ruapehu. I wasn't planning on getting anything but saw that they had award-winning pies (Lam's Pies) so ended up getting one. I grabbed the creamy mushroom, bacon and cheese one. the party was nice and the filling was ok. I was expecting more of a medley of bacon and mushroom in the filling but it was a mushroom in a white sauce with a nice piece of bacon on top. It was nice and creamy and did have a nice flavour.
they did have standard bakery items as well.
Travelled from UK to Taupo for a pepper steak pie. Well worth the journey.
The trout had mince and was equally delighted, briefly.
Best pies in the whole town, we love coming here all the time. Only issue is that the pies are a little expensive but its worth it!!! Very good.
F**k the lake go to spa road bakery! Easy parking.walk up to to cabinet food and take your time! Huge selection of pies to choose from. The pastry is the winner for me. Not flaky but firmly salty sweet that blends in with the ingredients. My favorite is the chicken mushroom or try the pork kumera!
Delicious, so much choice. We ordered the hot chips, a sausage, creamy mushroom pie, a pepper steak pie and an apple crumble. So delicious, would highly recommend visiting.
