Made a phone order for 11 people kids n adults. Order was waiting for us when we arrived hot and correct. Best fish I've had in a while and the kids raved about the chicken burgers.Only surprise was no sauce on the hotdogs. Everything else was lovely.
What this place lacks in atmosphere, it makes up in flavour, value and service!
Whilst there's nothing special about the interior, its right next to the lakefront, serves absolutely delicious, fresh fish & chips and is very fast.
Instead of ordering fish & chips, get some of their AMAZING pan-fried dumplings with your fresh fish, you won't regret it!

Wow!! How fish and chips should be made, light, crispy, crunchy and full of flavour!
We stopped to order some saveloy hotdogs as my husband misses them living in Auckland and we had fish and chips with our puppy (who was welcomed with a smile).
The fish was fresh and tasty, the chips were crunchy and fluffy inside and getting real free lemons was just a bonus!!
Great friendly service, good selection of food and we will be back!!
We have been going to Tasty Fish n Chips since they opened and we have NEVER had anything other than outstanding quality food. The family that run the store are welcoming and very friendly. In my opinion Tasty Fish n Chips is the best fish and chip shop in Taupo, if not New Zealand.
We tried this out on our recent holiday to Taupo and their fish n chips are great. Also I loved the battered mussels. Perfect, clean, great prices. I will make sure next to try their fish of the day.
The chicken and bacon burger was excellent and it was real chicken breast. The chips were also excellent especially the garlic butter.
The scnapper was crumbed and just a little over cooked. I would have liked a lemon slice as an option. It comes on a tray with grease proof paper. No knife and fork but with health and safety it is probably the best option as there is hand sanitiser available.
Good value for money and a great option in an area which has extremely high restaurant prices.
The fish was cooked perfect, tasted great and no oil. Decent amount of chips but not generous. Overall really enjoyed it! Will definitely go back again 😁
Best Fish and chips we have ever had. Fish was so fresh it was like it had jumped out of the water and onto your plate. Chips beautifully cooked. Delicious.
I would say that this place is the best fish n chips in Taupo. Everything is clean and everything is seasoned correctly. Just a delightful treat. We come here all the time.
Dine in option doesn't seem to offer water, napkins or sauce.
However, food quality is excellent. Burgers, fish, chips cooked to perfection. Chip portion size is decent but not generous.
