Beautiful food, beautiful atmosphere, quick and friendly service. We really appreciated the volume of the music because we could talk to each other without having to yell, haha. Everything was lovely and we had a great night out, thank you

Beautiful spot to have dinner and enjoyed the view looking towards the harbour. Welcoming and great team with lovely smile 😊. Enjoyed our dinner from the menu, all advised and on time. Thanks 😍

A Monday evening, very pleasant surroundings, prompt, attentive service. Place was surprisingly busy (compared to the rest of town). Ordered the vindaloo, Indian hot. 24 hours later, I'm still regretting that decision, it was banging! If you like good Indian, this is the place for you!

Food was really good. Definitely will be going back for the butter chicken and garlic naan. Our waitress was super lovely.

Amazing food, great service and a lovely atmosphere. Definitely 5 stars! A really enjoyable night for our group. The entrée platter was much larger than expected and came with a great mixture of foods and accompaniments. Excellent mango lassi!

Very tasty Indian spot. Have been here 3 times to dine in and it’s always really great food. Portion sizes are spot on too.

Great spot to grab a curry, rice, and papadam for lunch (and don't forget the garlic naan). It's usually not too crowded, and the staff are friendly and prompt.

Highly recommend!!! Lovely ambience, great service and food was absolutely beautiful💯. We ordered 2 x Butter Chicken and 1 Goat Korma. Portions were generous. Garlic naan was 👌🏽. Will be back😊

The team were very accomodating when we had a last minute booking with a large group of out of town guests. Yummy food too.

This dinner was incredible. Went with the chef’s recommendations for our curries and they were brilliant. Great restaurant and vibe for a dinner - loved it!

Visited India Today for the first time last night and was pleasantly impressed. Chose a table outside where we could watch the comings and goings and look across to the Tauranga waterfront. We ordered and did not have to wait too long before receiving our delicious curries. I had a Punjabi chicken curry while my companion had a Chana Masala, a chickpea dish, since she is vegan. She has had this dish at many Indian Restaurants and said it was the best one she had ever had. My dish was also right up there. We asked for a Nann to share and our host quickly pointed out that Nann is not vegan, being made with yoghurt and milk and eggs. He recommended instead a Roti, which is vegan. I'd not had a Roti before and it went very well with the curry and as our host explained, is much healthier than a nann, being made from wholemeal flour and without the fat ingredients. After the meal I went inside, which is where you would eat on a winters night. The interior is well appointed with furniture brought over from India and a warm ambience about the place without being over the top. Our host said he'd previously run a restaurant at Auckland's Viaduct Harbour but it was very expensive to operate there and so Auckland's loss is Tauranga's gain. Will happily eat here again in future and recommend it to all to try.

Would highly recommend. We ordered food to be delivered and it arrived super fast. The food was amazing! Absolutely delicious. And the staff were helpful and friendly. Would definitely go back.

Good food, first time had some awesome Indian meal. Awesome atmosphere. Definitely a must try in tauranga . Next time I visit the ton will definitely be coming again. Had the chef special and it was nice and tender ...
Laura
Good service, nice and clean restaurant with pretty décor. Food was great. Only negative thing I could say was that the medium to spicy curry I ordered was only very mild. More spice please!

The first of three restaurants my partner and I went to celebrate my birthday on 5 March. Although we only had drinks here, mine was Mango Lassi and his was beer, the Mango Lassi drink was the best looking one so far. I love the ambience, decor, and especially the long lounge chair outside the restaurant. There's also what looks like tuk-tuk. Would definitely like to come back again to this restaurant and try their food.

Love this place! Best Indian restaurant in the Bay of Plenty by far. Stunning food, beautiful setting, and the service is brilliant. Will continue to be a frequent flier !

Had a fantastic meal here. First time and we will definitely be back! All though it was busy the service was efficient and there was no lengthy wait for food and drinks. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the spice level was just right.

My wife and I are regulars at India Today we come from the UK originally where Indian food is eaten more than fish and chips. The food here is fantastic, even if it not on the menu they will make it for you. The staff are exceptional in the service, their communication and the way they dress. I highly recommend this place.

We have eaten in and had takeaways, the food is great, the staff are very friendly, helpful and efficient, and the decor is lovely. This is our favorite Indian restaurant in Tauranga, will be back many times I am sure.

This is is one of my all time favorite restaurants.
The food is always full of flavour and the service is excellent, the staff always make an effort to make you feel looked after in a lovely manner.
The decor is gorgeous and very inviting + they have a great selection of wines, my favorite being the Kopiko Bay sauv!

Highly recommend for beautiful Indian food and warm friendly service!

We have been there a number of times, and love the atmosphere, food and staff are terrific. Our friends were over from overseas so we took them to India today. They so enjoyed , and were amazed with great service also. My friends husband forgot his glasses, and one staff member was amazing and offered some glasses so that he could read the menu. Nothing was a problem and the food was 10 out of 10 yet again we will be back 100%.

Hugely disappointing - selected the place after reading reviews - best I can put was the breads were good. The three curries we ordered were all extremely bland in taste - the food made me think I was in a "Punjabi McDonald's" - if you think McDonald's are authentic hamburgers! When will Indian restaurants serve up Indian food and not the rubbish that they think people want to eat (though by the reviews below people obviously like it though they are missing so much in Indian food if they like this one)

Absolutely fantastic place for a lovely meal. Been a few times now and keep going back. Staff are outstanding and really know the meaning of customer service. Food is Devine. A definite must if you are looking for a great Indian meal. Note, it pays to book as they are always busy.

We eat at India Today on a regular basis and we have always had the most amazing meal. The staff are helpful, polite and really friendly (not so much so that you feel they are standing over you all the time). they really couldn't do more for you. My husband recently had to wait a little while for the take out and was given a complimentary drink. Those things make a huge difference to your experience. Coming from the UK the ambiance is a huge part of a meal and decor and atmosphere here never lets you down. We would recommend India Today to anyone.

We also have been trying to find a great Indian restaurant in Tauranga. So was very glad when this one opened. Love the food, friendly service & even when they were extremely busy one night that waitress gave our table complimentary drinks. ( although we never complained about service because we knew they were extremely busy & the atmosphere is so lovely you don't mind having to wait a little longer especially when the food is worth waiting for. We also are regular diners & love it. Eat, drink & enjoy the atmosphere without feeling like you are being rushed out the door.

India Today is the best Indian restaurant in Tauranga - authentic food from regional India, knowledgeable and highly professional Indian staff who can't do enough for diners.
My table was moved solicitously when I asked about a slight draft, and a minor suggestion that one (ultra-western) diner's dish was a wee bit hotter than expected was met with an immediate offer to replace it.

But most importantly, if you really like REAL Indian food, this is where you'll find it.

been here several times after struggling to find an Indian meal as good as back home. This place is the one. Great food, great service and lovely people. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
I hace recommended it to everyone already and no one has been disappointed.

Have been here twice really nice environment, staff are very welcoming. Food is good - nice poppadoms while you wait, curries were good not the best I've had but the atmosphere makes up for it making it an enjoyable might out.

We have become regular diners at India Today and have had nothing but great food and experienced fantastic faultless service.
Lovely warm environment and nothing is ever an issue even if you turn up relatively late in the evening you still get the same reception.
Highly recommend trying this restaurant out!

First impression of this restaurant is the warm ambience. It is tastefully decorated to the authentic theme of India. We were greeted at the door and were seated at a beautiful table. The waitresses and waiter looked after us very well.

The food was the best Indian I have ever tasted (apart from Geetika's and Nitin's) and very reasonably priced. The place was full, but it wasn't loud - low level hum.

Will definitely be back. Was a real treat.

Agree with other reviews, it's great.
Warm surroundings on a cold night, great decor & friendly helpful service.

Add to that nice food with a hot order arriving with plenty of heat for this kiwi, just as i like it.

Very tasty all round !

Absolutely Delicious! Great atmosphere and the service is exceptional. Also very good value for money. One of the better restaurants on the stand in Tauranga. We'll be back next time we're down from Auckland.

A lovely Indian Restaurant with an extensive menu. the interior is very inviting and the food extremely tasty.

The staff were efficient, friendly and their no problem attitude made it a pleasurable dining experience.

I would certainly go again and look forward to trying some other tempting dishes.

A visit here was a must after getting takeout from their sister restaurant in New Plymouth.
The did not disappoint us, we had a nice lunch here.
Will be back that's for sure. Lovely pleasant staff.

We LOVE this place... by far the most authentic Indian in Tauranga and probably has the best ambience and service we've experienced in a long time. We've swung by after to work to pick up entrees and naans to go with curry made at home and they're so filling we've nearly abandoned the main course. We've also taken rellies and overseas guests for dinner there and they've gone and raved about India Today to their friends too...best advertising is word of mouth!!

Not only is the food delicious, they have the best service in town! The staff are really nice and friendly, we've only been in there several times but we already get treated like we are old friends. The restaurant offers dairy and gluten free dishes. I am a vegan and they have plenty of options for me. I normally get Aloo Gobi which is delicious.
