Review Astrolabe Brew Bar - Tauranga

An amazing place to eat and relax whilst in the Mount. The outdoor area is so nice, calming and relaxing. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and want a delicious lunch!

The staff were lovely and the food and drink came out quickly. The cauliflower bites and Korean chicken were nice but the nachos not so much. Minimal meat and everything was a bit too sweet.

Great atmosphere, great cocktails, great service. Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to eat here yet, but the drinks have been as delicious as they look every time.
Elina Samuelsson
I went here with my friends for a late lunch and a few beers. Had the best poke bowl ever! Absolutely delicious! Would highly recommend if you're not feeling the typical pub grub!
Nicole Medina
Food was good, price was ok, portion was ok, drinks were great. They said wait was 1.5 hours but came a lot earlier than that. Definitely will come back

Fun place! It was absolutely pumping Friday night with a dance music gig. Went for afternoon team and a cheeky beer the next day too. Recommended.

Yes! Is all I can say. What a great bar, full of character and everything you could need! Staff were friendly & helpful. Plenty of variety of drinks on offer. A small play area for kids with slide. DJs on in the evening. Overall great vibe.

This bar is awesome. Fantastic food and drink. Great music, very laid back. They have created a perfect kiwi "bach culture" vibe. Staff are very friendly. Their cider is awesome with several flavours they mix on the spot with lots of lime! Yummy!! $10 Will get you a beer, Burger and chips on Tuesdays. SOOOO GOOD!!

Yummy food, not overly expensive and great portion sizes, friendly staff, awesome atmosphere, all round great place. Have always enjoyed dining out here.

Good atmosphere, decent drink prices, great music. Security staff were particularly good. Especially the ones on the door. Cheers šŸ»

4 of us ate there for lunch today and only 1 person was happy. Long wait time. Oily fish, yucky prawns, yucky eggs Benedict and my son couldnā€™t eat the chicken. Mistake with sons order. Very disappointed with everything
Monique
My order came out 10 minutes after ordering it but the rest of my tables meals didnā€™t come out for another 40 minutes. By the time their meals came out I had finished and had to sit and just watch them eat. Was very sad
Colleen Dekkers
Never going back. Salad consisted of slimy lettuce. Nothing else. No trimmings, just inedible slimy lettuce. Fish was full of bones. Duty manager was very good at refunding.

Damn Astrolabe Brew Bar is average. Been here twice while I've been in Mount Maunganui and had average food. I can't remember what I got the first time but I got a chicken pokƩ bowl the second time. The food is just average pub food nothing special. Most likely will be back because i've never been disappointed. x

They have the Macs beer range on tap and this time we've found their food pretty good as well.
We tried Pizza by the metre, it was delicious and big enough to feed 2-3 people. We really enjoyed it!
Also tried a salad bowl, which was interesting kind of mixture of Asian flavour, and rice was soaked in the source in the bottom of the bowl. Interesting.

Dined here for breakfast yesterday and was told the food would be a 40 min wait max as it was very busy and they were unorganised and understaffed, which we agreed we could deal with. An hour passes and we ask where the food is then we are told that it was coming up next but somehow it didnā€™t arrive for another half an hour! None of the staff members were helpful or even seemed interested in trying to help us, even though we had been waiting an hour and a half for our food. We then received the wrong order as theyā€™d put another table on our tab number as well. When our food was (finally) served fish was old, smelt off and mushy. All the food was also lukewarm when it came out. Drinks order was stuffed up as well and coffee was cold to top it off! Managed to get money back on the fish but not anything else although we barely touched any of it. Has to be the worst dining experience Iā€™ve EVER had

Great vibe and surroundings. Great menu that caters to families and those who are health conscious. The pulled pork salad I had was Devine and was a large portion. Shakar bowl was eaten by my husband and he enjoyed it and was happy with the amount of salmon. Caesar salad was what my daughter chose and she loved it. Drink were all scrumptious especially the strawberry milkshake.

Came and had a half half pizza with butcher and chicken. I also ordered some fries. It was SO GOOD. Flavourful and crunchy to the max!
The pizza base has a chew to it. The bottom was crispy and the flavours came together well. I preferred the butcher pizza. The pork/ham bits were very very good.
When: Saturday, 4pm
What We Ordered: Aloha moods half a metre pizza, Wongs sticky pork ribs, Onion rings, Kumara fries, salted pepper squid, Chocolate milk shake and a bonus chips.
Food: āļøāļøāļøāļøāļø I loooved everything that we have ordered. The pizza was huge, the thickness was just right, Iā€™m more of the thin crust kind. The ribs was delicious, its sauce was not overwhelming, huge plate. Onion rings and the on-the-house chips were yum, not too oily!
Ambience: āļøāļøāļøāļø Family-friendly with playground area for kids, cute colour scheme and decors . We were just unfortunately seated below a tree with birds perched on it, no umbrella. Imagine the worst thing that could happen in that scenario. But all goood!
Service: āļøāļøāļøāļø Friendly crew. Service was fast.
Really nice place and great location. So much to choose from on the menu. The staff were very friendly. Orders are placed at the bar a bit different but not a hassle. The food was great ordered burgers and waffles was filled to the brim. I do recommend giving it a try.

If your starving. Donā€™t come here! Cause you will wait 45mins. Got in before the crowd and still took a while for food to come out. They got an order wrong, waited another 20mins! Shocking service. Staff were not friendly. Waitress who took our order, did not smile once. If your in hospitality, smiling and good service is Expected. Place has good vibes, too bad the people working donā€™t. Food average, Maccas big breakfast rates higher
Folcarelli Stephen
Not a bad location. Coffee ok. No almond milk. No table service just counter. Big breakfast ordered couldnt change eggs. Apart from that tasted goid. Big helpings. Staff could be more friendly thoigh. Cider great. Will go back now i know what to expect

Good environment for groups. Food is average. Service is unacceptable. Food took quite long, 40 minutes.
The cashier made a mistake with our order. We asked the waiter and waitresses twice for our missing order but got no response from anyone for over 20 minutes. We had to go to the lady at the tilt for help. She denied any wrong done by her staff instead said "we do not refund for something customers have ordered". They took our order wrong AND did not serve what we paid for. The manager on duty today 22/10/2017 totally ignored our grievances. We left quite insulted and very unhappy.

Mediocre at best. Ordered beverages at the bar and was told no trays available. Had to make three trips. My food was greasy and unappetising. My daughter was not able to have a plain Margherita pizza. At a pizza place! The only saving grace was a very tasty vegetarian burger.
R-Dee Roche
Great pizza and the place has a nice playground for kids (so the parents can actually enjoy their drinks). Service was excellent. Place needs a good clean though as tables were a bit sticky and the bathroom was a mess. Highly recommend the pepperoni and bluecheese pizza!
EpiCurious
Fun atmosphere with retro furniture and bright colours - but quite dirty. The tables need a good clean! The service was sullen and slow, and while the two salads our group ordered were ok, the rest of the food was quite poor. My nachos had hardly any chicken in them but were swamped with large jalapeƱos, and the general flavour of everything just tasted like it all came of our jars. Try the couple of spots across the road instead.

Terrible customer service, have never come across such a miserable, sour unenthusiastic front of house staff in my life. Just wanting to celebrate the new year with dinner and cocktails. Could have spent a lot more money if down Debbie at the bar was a little more plesent deal with
Elonie
Great atmosphere, very NZ music, with decorations like you're at a relative's house, especially the Nana's House area. We had a 50cm pizza which was huge but crispy and thin so it's just right to share between 2 people. We had half n half so we tried 2 different flavours.
Winnie
The vibe of this place is funk throughout. I mean funk for all ages. Energetic and playful. This isnt just at nighttime; the place is peppy at breakfast lunch and dinner. Equally crowded at all times. So there has to be something that clicks with so many people.

What this place lacks is service. Ordered a cocktail, a tap beer and onion rings. Got told that the cocktail would take a bit long; and I was completely ok with it. Till 20 mins later when the beer was down and so were the onion rings and one server told me that the drink would be there shortly. Another 20 mins and I went to the bar to check myself. No drink still. So yeah 45 mins wait for the drink. No doubt it was fabulous and exactly what the summer sun wanted. But 45 mins!! Nahh.
Also had the tacos. Good way to serve them deconstructed.

Pricewise: $50 for 2
Returns: double yay.

Went there at 9pm for dinner. The Bar was very crowded but we got our seats very quickly. The pork ribs was very tasty with kimchi at the top. Also got the vegetarian burger and it was very special.
The waitress is very friendly and good service :)

Went here for lunch. Restaurant is pretty spacious and funky decor with a cool outdoor courtyard part out the back. I gotthe Ā Oriental gentleman salad for $18.00 - A Tangy asian salad with bbq chicken, bean sprouts, coriander, vietnamese mint & roasted cashews. It came out and it looked pretty average didn't really have a wow factor about it. It tasted worse then it looked, it didnt even taste like an Ā Asian and the chicken tasted super weird like it was off. I sort of ate around the chicken and after eating not even half of it I couldn't eat any more it was pretty horrible. My partner got Fish and Chips, which looked nice, he said tasted alright the fish was a bit oily though. Wouldn't ever come back here or tell anyone to eat here. Ā Not worth it
Brett
Stopped here for dinner on our road trip. We didnt get there until around 9pm and the place was packed which is a good sign. We had a burger, fries and beer special ($10) and it didnt disappoint. Theres a great retro feel with all the old furniture etc. The lighting was pretty poor in our corner but the service, food and atmosphere certainly made up for that. Check it out if you are ever in the area.

Have been here for lunch a couple of times. Both times we have sat in the courtyard which has a really cool vibe & is set up well. The food is great for a pub lunch. Decent pricing, good selection & great taste. On our latest visit this weekend my partner & I shared the beer battered fries, squid & chicken wings all of which we thoroughly enjoyed.

We went here today for lunch with some friends. The decor and atmosphere are lovely. Quirky kiwiana that provides a talking point.
Service was slow. Our first round of drinks had been forgotten and we had to ask for them again.
All 4 of us had the beef burger, served with a pickle, two onion rings and fries. The burgers were delicious. A lovely spicy chutney provides a point of difference from other burgers. Fries were nice but were not fresh out of the fryer so I wonder how long our food had been sitting there before someone brought it out.
Staff were lovely, just a bit disorganised. With a rev up on service this place would be great.

I don't know why I go back there. I've had one good experience and three bad. Tonight, we were told that the meals would be 35 minutes. We decided that would be okay (a slight push for the kids) although an hour later, our meal finally arrived, but unfortunately my steak was overdone. I sent it back and was given a new steak 15 minutes later and had to eat it alone as my husband and kids had already eaten. In the 1.5 hours that we were there, we were never asked if we wanted more drinks or had our water topped up. I complained to the manager and the price of the steak meal was taken off the bill thankfully.

After a tiring walk around Mt Manganui my family I decided to stop here for dinner. The decor and the atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable. The staff were energetic and attentive. I ordered the fresh fish tacos which was served with the filling in a bowl and the tortillas separate so you're able to make the tacos yourself. I enjoyed the taste but had to order another to fill myself up. My brother and father both ordered the Betty's burger which they were very pleased with and they ended up full by the end of the meal. However my little brothers ordered a meat pizza to share and even though they thoroughly enjoyed it they were left hungry and had a subway afterwards to fill up.

After our warmed milk (what they called a 'latte') at another cafe, we gapped it out of there quick. Came across Astrolabe, the funky outdoor area is what made me stop. The service was good but the breakfast was average. My eggs benedict's was cold and the eggs watery. Hollandaise wasn't zesty enough. I'd go back for some beer and chips but not for brunch.

We stopped here for lunch on Sunday had the vegetable burger for something different had yummy avo and relish to compliment the pumpkin vegetable Patty.. And great beer batter fries to compliment good beers to go with the food to. quick service great vibe and music will come back again.

We ordered their famous half & half pizza on top of onion rings, kumara fries and fried squid. We definitely enjoyed the food. The pizza that we had was good for three people (2-3 slices each) for $25. All the entrees was at $9.00 each. I do recommend you try their pawnee flavoured pizza. Unfortunately, the service was a bit slow and disappointing. The used glasses with smered lipstick on it were never taken from our table even after we've ordered. We took the initiative to place it on an empty table near us. We had to request for a new set of table water as the initial pitcher seemed uncleaned. Looks like cleanliness 101 is not their top priority.

Came here for a late friday lunch after walking around looking for a place to eat. Pleasantly surprised with the nice setup, large outside area with cozy spaces everywhere. Would be awesome on a nice day or a nice dinner. The service was brilliant and friendly. Waitress knew what you needed before you had time to ask :) Ordered the fish n chips.. didnt expect much being fish n chips, but what came out was great! It was the pokana (sp) crumbed, with fries covered in some sort of coating and a nice salad garnished nicely. There definitely was some care in the dish. Nice place, service and food :) would come again.

We day tripped down to the Mount on what unfortunately had to be one of the worst days of winter so our idea of picnicking on the beach had to be canned in favour of strolling through the admittedly fantastic boutiques and finding somewhere cosy for lunch. Walking past Astrolabe, I noticed it had had significant renovations since becoming a Mac's Brew Bar and decided to venture inside. The place is completely decked out in retro fittings with clever use of different zones to avoid over-crowding. A high chair was quickly produced - surprising in a pub environment - and we were settled into our little nook.
The menus - both food and drink - were extensive with a variety of different options. Given we had had a sizable morning tea I just selected two options from their sharing plate menu to share with my toddler: the sticky pork and slaw taco and the kumara fries. Both were generous serves - we didn't manage to finish the fries! I like that the taco came ready for you to construct so that you could choose your own pork/slaw ratio. I was also impressed that they had half serves of beer available on their menu - I only allow myself one standard drink when driving so this was perfect for me. It could also serve you well if you wanted to try a range of their beers in a sitting.
The staff were friendly and prompt for service, although they did appear to be overstaffed for the number of patrons. I do wonder whether the coziness of the interior will count against them in the summer heat but then I guess the garden bar will be more popular. All in all a pretty delightful place to hang out on a miserable winter day.

Sarah Reynolds #challenge
Steak Me Out
In winter, Tauranga and Mt Maunganui are extremely quiet places. Astrolabe was one of the only pubs open, Iā€™d been made aware of its existence via a friends cousin. The place was very cool, giving off this heavily retro, slightly brewery vibe; It felt a lot like Melbourne. The menu read really nicely, and their burger looking fantastic, however I got distracted by the pork taco, blue cheese and peanut wontons and their 250g scotch fillet. The latter I ordered medium rare with some garlic butter and mushroom sauce on the side.

Astrolabe is great if you are wanting to head out for a social drink. As you can expect the food is nothing to write home about but it's fine to have with a couple of drinks.
Li
Yum. Tacos are delish! Outside bar area great. Do recommend

Nice place to have a beer and meet some friends

Ate dinner here once but unfortunately it was nothing to rave about. The menu is pretty limited. I've noticed that none of the Brew Bars are great in terms of food. My pizza was very average, the wait for service and food was far too long, we nearly left.

I often visit Astrolab for drinks in the evening. The staff are friendly and helpful, however occasionally clear drinks from the table before they are completely friendly (I always feel a bit too awkward to point this out).

Have eaten in the resturant a few times from the pizza menu, decent food which is pretty well priced. Often the wait staff take orders without a notepad which is impressive.

A good local spot to meet.

One of our favourites at the Mount, we come here for a meal everytime we are visiting! Super trendy 70s themed interior, with comfy indoor seating or an open outdoor style beer garden with picnic tables. Very colourful, staff very friendly, and an awesome place for lunch. We went one evening as well but it seemed a bit under resourced with a lot of tables still needing to be cleared. I had the fish burger, while still a good burger it lacked a bit of excitement. Everyone was in awe of the sharzees platters, so make sure you order them!

Great place to go if you're about the mount. Maybe the best but I haven't been many places.
Funky name, easy to find, popular food options and friendly staff.
Sat down for a beer with friends and ended up buying 3 pizzas. Left happy as.
Next time i'm by the mount, Astrolabe is were I'm coming.
Keep up the good work
Hannah
Came here on a busy labour weekend night, the staff were very friendly. Really cool pub atmosphere with all the 70's decorations and coloured picnic tables outside. We ordered the fish and chips, my partner had it battered with beer battered chips and I had mine panko crumbed with kumara chips. Both were cooked to perfection and the chips were amazing! So crunchy and delicious. We also had a half and half pizza (margarita and meat meat meat), which was really tasty. There was a bit of a wait for the food but understandable on such a busy night.
Emily
Seriously horrible ! I wouldn't eat here again. The food was the worst we have experienced in awhile. We had the steak, lamb and a children's cheeseburger meal, the meat in the children's meal was inedible. The steak was extremely salty and the lamb was very chewy, both meals quite tasteless with the lamb having an amazing amount of terrible gravy. To top it off the ice cream that came with the children's meal never arrived we asked at least twice I think three times before walking out ... . What a waste a money and an experience we can't erase but at least will not repeat .

Truly revolting, we came here deliberately to capture a snapshot of our youth 15 + years ago when we lived at the mount and the lab was our local. It has now morphed into a tacky franchise bar. Tackiness withstanding, we had dinner and drinks for old times sake, what a mistake that was -, steak was dry and overcooked and to finish it off, bread had what looked like mould on the edge.
Phil Rees
Very average service and food
2 salads 2 beers a bowl of fries $60
Won't be going again

We went to this restaurant on Sunday of Easter, there was 8 adults and 6 children. We ordered dinner as well as drinks which i have to say took a very long time to arrive and the meals were okay, however we ordered 2 mores beers and the waitress said no that we could not have anymore drinks.
I then approached the counter where the staff member was and asked why we could not have any more drinks and his answer was that we had Not ordered enough food.He said that some of the adults had shared some main meals and that we all had to order our own main meal so therefore we were not allowed any more drinks.
He then tried to blame it on the public holiday and the liquor licence saying we had not ordered enough food. I told him that that information that he was trying to blame it on was not correct as i have a liquor licence as well as my duty managers license as i own my ow cafe in Albany so then he proceeded to say that they had their own rules and we then said if you have different rules then maybe you should make that very clear to your customers before they sit down to dinner at your establishment, which i might add that the staff did not say anything.
When he worked out that he have no other excuse for there poor service he said to me if you know the liquor licence rules then you would of not let your partner walk outside with his beer, so i went outside to ask my partner if he came out with his beer in his hand and he said no so beware the staff and service. This restaurant would have to be the worst i have every experienced

I personally think they they just wanted to get rid of us as we were the last people there
Stephnz
The Astrolabe is probably the most visited place I eat out at for lunch and dinner. I love the chilled our relaxed feeling and the outside tables are perfect for the Mt summer. The atmosphere is great and I've found most staff to be super nice and give great service.
I'm always happy with the food and it doesn't take long to arrive. Me and friends usually order a bunch of things to share and we've never had bad things to say :)
Deon Carpenter
Have been here a few times now, once for lunch, twice for dinner. Once we shared a whole lot of 'sharezies" which are small plates which were mostly pretty good.

I would have to say the service is inconsistent - the first time we had a great waiter, but a very long wait time for the meal.

The last couple of times the food has arrived promptly but service was very average.
Food is nice at the time of eating, but doesn't stick in your mind. We once sent back a dessert (creme brulee) as it was curdled. Its a large restaurant, but manages not to be too loud so you can still have conversation (if the music isn't too loud). The decor is really cool - which has probably drawn us back, along with the ability to order a few small tapa's type meals instead of one big one.

There is a nice range of prices for meals so you can eat to your budget.
Pays to book if a Sat night as it gets rather full.

A really enjoyable and cool bar in the Mount. We often come down on a Sunday for a few social drinks with friends, and bring the kids who run riot throughout the caravan (sorry staff!). But its fun and easy. The kids always get fish'n'chips which come in a plastic sand castle bucket with a free ice cream sandwich and soda. The eldest nicked the bucket (sorry staff!) but I'll return it this weekend. Sunday sessions are fast becoming an institution. Good times.
Geoff
A great time in the astrolabe. Im from the Naki and am visiting the Bay for work. Went down to the bar last night for a few after work drinks and ended up staying for tea. I had venison pie which was awesome and a black macs beer. We ended up monging out in front of the fire on the couches drinking rumsies and reminising. Went outside for a ciggy and the waitress brought us a hotty and blanket, legendary. Choice staff, easy atmosphere, good amount of tucker.

Went here for lunch on Sunday and it looked lovely. There are different parts of the Bar to cater for what kind of meal you want. We sat outside in the sunshine and we were served straight away. As it was mildly busy and we were a group of 4 I expected there to be about a 30 min wait for our meals to arrive. However after getting there at 1.15pm (after normal rush hour) and waiting until 1.45pm we still had no food and no waitresses had approached us to give us an update. We had to flag down a waitress and ask and she said she would find out. She came back telling us that they were still another 15mins away. she did not apologise but mearly blamed it on the kitchen being busy. While sitting outside we noticed tables that had arrived after us and were being served in about 20mins. My friend went up to the bar and asked why it was taking so long and the waitress just kept blaming the kitchen. We explained that we had walked into other places and they had told us there was a wait time so we had left not wanting to wait that long, had they have told us the wait time we would have either decided to stay knowing how long it was or gone somewhere else. I find this unacceptable as the kitchen is just someone to hide behind and obviously the kitchen was doing fine getting food out to other tables. After some reluctance and our meals finally coming out after 1hour and 15 mins the waitress gave us our drinks for free. The food (3 wraps and one chicken schnitzel) were AVERAGE to say the least, I would not go back and I would not recommend.
Christy Saint
A great relaxed night out. Good service for such a busy place (and it was Friday night). We sat in the caravan and had steak and beer, all very funny. Not really a place for the uptight as everything is really casual but a rolling laugh for our group who had a hoot.
Robert
We visited Astrolabe Friday a week ago and 4 of our group ordered Beer Battered snapper/plus chips. The batter was dark- overcooked and inedible to say the least. Most of the group left it on the plate until the waitress returned. We explained that the batter showed signs of being cooked in dirty unfiltered oil and requested an explanation from the chef. To charge $20 odd for that type of rubbish is laughable.
We queried the cashier on leaving and he accused us of the abusing the waitress-which hadn't. We told him in no uncertain terms the food was rubbish. Quite honestly we wouldn't recommend anybody to attend this facility. On arrival a copy of men stand outside-without I/D checking licences. The place shows no professionalism.

We went to Astrolabe a couple of weeks ago and had a brilliant night and went to repeat the experience but unfortunately the new menu was super disappointing!

Steaks were cooked nicely but the meat was poor quality,no sauce and the sides were tiny. Every main came with a half plate of lettuce leaves very boring.

My mate had the mussels. They came out cold and without shells and no broth for the bread, she didn't even finish them.

Great service and great drinks but the new menu was disappointing and we won't be returning for dinner.
Chris Edwards
Went for lunch on a Monday, place was empty which we didn't mind at all. every table to choose from, YAY. Haven't been here in years but the new decor is pretty funky compared to other places around.

Waiter was friendly, brought us some cold beers and some menus. Our party of four decided to choose pizza, burgers, and a fish dish off the main menu.

Waiter was always close by watering the plants if we needed anything.

Everyone enjoyed their lunches and they came out of the kitchen in good time too.

Great afternoon hangout
Felix
Friendly staff, good beer, good pub food. Nice sitting in the atrium. Great to relax in the afternoon and having the sun in your back. Just what we expected.
Samantha
It wasn't terrible, but nothing to write home about. I had to ask the wait staff to give me a new glass as the one on the table we were shown to was dirty. The zucchini fritters I had were very oily. I believe they have new ownership as they would not honour our entertainment book voucher. Poor form. The decor and vibe is neat, but I will not be returning.
Jenny Fraser
Ye Gods, the mighty Astrolabe has morphed into some form of a Macs Ale House and been filled with concrete blocks and rhetro furniture which just doesn't do this old hero any favours. We had to ask three different staff if a table that was empty out in the garden courtyard was free and finally got shown there after a 45 minute wait. There was plenty of staff on and this place has been up and running for a couple of weeks now but they still seem to lack any form of leadership and a certain amount of disorganisation reins although I would have to say once we had got going with three different staff at the table in five minutes things rocked along and some reasonably decent gastropub style meals arrived but one would have to say that was about it. our meals were never checked on, even when we got another round of drinks (and it costs nothing for a smile ). we had three coffees to finish.... and I can only but say this is not at all their forte and leave it at that. a disappointing experience but i would give it some credit that they have reasonable fare at affordable prices.

We dined here on a Tuesday evening and the restaurant was quiet, only four tables were occupied. The service was excellent and the food very good - much better than most of the restaurants in the Tauranga area. It is not cheap, two mains, two deserts and a bottle of wine cost us about $160 but we thought it was well worth it.
Victoria
This is a firm favourite of mine. Best place to eat in Tauranga/Mt. The service is always good. The food excellent. Make sure you get to sit in the main restaurant bit rather than the bar. Highly recommended.
