Review Redcliff Restaurant & Bar - Te Anau

I had a really lovely dinner at the Redcliffe Cafe. Chloe was my server and she gave me a bunch of wonderful recommendations. I ended up getting the rabbit and it was really nice. Cooked perfectly and paired well with the risotto. Great place to eat when visiting Te Anau and would 100% recommend. I would suggest getting a reservation as well because it can get quite busy.

We went there for lunch on a Wednesday in November. No wait at all. The food was delicious and the staff were really nice. We tried to go back for dinner but didn’t have a reservation and it was fully booked. Highly recommend stopping there if you drive by or stay in Te Anau!

Lovely place tucked in Te Anu. Food was fantastic (choices such as hare and vennison) and the steak was cooked to perfection. Service was attentive and nice. Good beers on tap too!

Absolutely amaaaazing food here! The place was full but we still got a table after first having some drinks in the bar. This is the best restaurant in town by far

Great food. Relaxed atmosphere. Lovely outside patio. The salmon was a surprise hit. And the venison was tender and wonderful.

One of the best steaks in NZ! The doneness was spot on and the blue cod… my goodness, excellent. The vegetation frittata was amazing too. Chloe is fantastic.

We loved it, got in early and was served a treat. We got a version as a entree that was thinly sliced almost rare with a sauce that complemented the garnish. Together with garlic bread and it was mixed bread with mouth watering butter it was the perfect starter. For mains I ordered the lamb rack and partner got the blue cod...amazing food cooked as it should be! Service was good, nothing rushed. Food was nothing short of great with amazing taste. It's a small place with out door seating and inside. Smallish miners cottage with period pieces scattered through with clippings of old news and photos. A place we will visit next year again on our travels 👍🏼

The food presentation was lovely and both meals were delicious! We got the ceviche, potato soup and pork belly. Service was fantastic. Great spot with cozy atmosphere, historic decor and a bit of LOTR history!

Made a reservation here because I heard it was good and when it was described as the best restaurant in town by our Airbnb host, I was looking forward! Was definitely not disappointed, the food is great! Everything on the plate was good, down to the vegetables/sides. I'm typically a small eater and my husband was surprised at how much I ate. I got the salmon and he got the ribeye, we both enjoyed our dinner tremendously and left feeling very satisfied! Highly recommended and do make a reservation, we were there on a Monday night and they were fully booked!

Went again last week after a year away, and they are as perfect as ever! I tried the venison salad and was so happy (but not surprised). Delicious as always. Perfect service as always. Great vibes, as always

This has to be one if our top dining experiences. The four of us each ordered different dishes for our mains. Each dish was amazing, salmon was beautiful, steak perfect and fish to die for. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his wine and dessert was fab. We will be back! Top night.

Excellent food. We ordered the house smoked salmon and the daily fish special (sole), easily the best food we have had in NZ. The wine list was good. One shortcoming: it took 55 minutes for the food to arrive and the restaurant was no more than 1/2 full by then.

I think we were unlucky we were the first guests last night who ordered We ordered venison and home smoked salmon, which looked good when the plates came (the lady excused it took so long) Venison was really nice and tasted good (next to the beetroot mushrooms and potato dauphinois there was sort of cabbage with was really salt ) The smoked salmon really had too much smoked-taste and the gnocchi was really swimming in the butter It was a bit of a disappointment because this restaurant was recommended by people we met in doubtful sound The mojito cocktail and the IPA beer were really nice �

I have eaten at some of the best restaurants in New Zealand. The fare served to us at Redcliff was as good and maybe better than these. Great Local Ingredients served with an honest simplicity where flavours compliment and complete each other. The atmosphere was casual and relaxed with no pretension but make no mistake, the staff take their jobs seriously and were both friendly, informative and professional. Won't forget this dinner ever!5♡

The best restaurant I have dined in NZ for the past 12 days. The food, wine, staff, ambience was great and the price is reasonable.

Perfect place for a drink or dinner Beautiful outdoor area and the atmosphere and staff are world class. A must do in Te Anau.

Very cosy and beautiful place, very clever chef, (never seen kitchen staffs but could see from meals as im cooking for living) very kind waiter and small surprise in the end with bill

My husband is still talking about the wonderful meal he had here. Mine super too! Definitely one of our best dining experiences ever, anywhere in the world.

Really lovely little restaurant- unfortunately we didn’t book so couldn’t get a table until after 9 so we decided to have a share latter from the bar and were happy as food good and we were treated to a very talented guitar man called Andres so were not disappointed

Saw this on trip advisor. Glad we booked it . Food was delicious , service was great , lovely friendly waitress. Fab quirky place .

Goed gegeten, erg leuk en klantvriendelijk personeel, heerlijk wijntje. Restaurant was volgeboekt, we konden op overkapt terras zitten met heater en dekentje. Wegens de enorme regen, die overigens gezellig tikkelde op het golfplaten dak, wel een beetje behelpen... maar absoluut niet storend.

Amazing veggie food, amazing place, amazing service. Soooo recommended ��
