Service is really excellent! Food tasted really nice too. It was full house when we walked in on a Friday evening. Staff was nice and got us a table after waiting for a while.

I had the wild venison pie which was absolutely fantastic - cooked so well, just the right amount of gaminess, and complemented by silky, soft mash and gravy.

Duck wantons 4/5 - very good. But just shy of 5 stars as I felt the skin was a little thick and not crispy enough.

Easily the best meal we've had on our trip around NZ so far. The duck wontons are delicious and the pork belly made us both close our eyes and say "oh, WOW!" Staff is incredibly friendly and accommodated us well at the bar during a busy holiday weekend.

The fried squid and chowder were both top notch and unique!!! Our friends loved the duck wontons and the lamb salad. Unfortunately they were sold out of the rice balls. Pity we are not here longer. It’s a must if you are visiting Te Anau!!!
