The Fat Duck - Te Anau - Photo album

Our favorites are seafood chowder, Akatoa salmon, and green lips mussels. The gnocchi was tasty but the sauce was sweeter. The taste of seasonal greens and duck fat potatoes was so-so only. The taste of the Speight's golden ale was alright. Very good services. Good atmosphere. It was crowded on Thur
Service is really excellent! Food tasted really nice too. It was full house when we walked in on a Friday evening. Staff was nice and got us a table after waiting for a while.
Go here, as we’re planning to again tomorrow night. I had the wild venison pie which was absolutely fantastic - cooked so well, just the right amount of gaminess, and complemented by silky, soft mash and gravy. Everyone else raves about their dishes and I got to taste the ricotta and feta cigars,
Enjoyed this place so much we went there two nights in a row during our trip to Te Anau. Venison pie was great, as well as pulled pork wantons and market fish. One of the highlights of our trip!
After the exhilarating Milford Sound cruise trip, 'Fat Duck' proved to be the perfect spot for a delightful dinner. The inviting atmosphere and impeccable service complemented the day's adventure. The ease of ordering through QR codes or the assistance of the attentive staff made the experience even
Absolutely first quality food and service. We wandered into this nearly empty restaurant at around 6:00. The host said he could seat us but he needed the table for a reservation at 7:30. This "gem" of a restaurant was superb in every way...and completely full by the time we left at 7:24. The pictur
We ordered the duck wantons, monk fish (market fish), seafood chowder. Duck wantons 4/5 - very good. But just shy of 5 stars as I felt the skin was a little thick and not crispy enough. Monk fish 5/5 - excellent. With the potatoes and spinach underneath. Seafood chowder 4.5/5 - very good with no
Lucky to get a table here today. What to say thanks to all the staff the meals very excellent and the staff is great here, very very friendly. Kids menu options are excellent we ordered fish and chips for our 5 year old the fish was fresh it didn't look like the frozen one. Steak was exceptionall
We saved this for the last of our 4 nights in Te Anau, and it was clear we had saved the best for last. It’s also clear why some sites list this as the best place to eat in town. We got in early evening on a Saturday, and the place was really hopping. We sat in the bar, a great choice because the li
Loved the food and the service, especially the New York cheesecake and the lamb dish. Flavours were very well balanced.
Love the mussels and lamb very much. Lamb is soft and mussels favor are delightful. Wonderful Friday night dinner just after our visit to Milford sound.
This was our treat after completing the Kepler track and feeling famished. Ordered the lamb shank, green lipped mussels, and market fish all of which were cooked perfectly with just the right amount of seasoning. Topped it off with the sticky date pudding to make for one of the best meals we had in
The food and service were amazing!! My husband and I really enjoyed our meal here. Great job guys! 😊 We had the duck wantons (sublime!!), risotto balls (so good!!), salmon (crispy outside and soft inside), and pork belly. Everything was excellent. Highly recommended restaurant to visit in Te Anau! D
Great atmosphere with a live band playing, great service as well as they let us in earlier than our reservation time. We ordered their signature duck wontons, fish and chips, and green lip mussels. The mussels were served in a white cream sauce which was absolutely delicious with the garlic bread, t
Easily the best meal we've had on our trip around NZ so far. The duck wontons are delicious and the pork belly made us both close our eyes and say "oh, WOW!" Staff is incredibly friendly and accommodated us well at the bar during a busy holiday weekend.
Delightful wait staff. Good menu. Excellent atmosphere and very comfortable indoor chairs. Need to book. Most enjoyable evening. Saturday night live music also excellent.
The fried squid and chowder were both top notch and unique!!! Our friends loved the duck wontons and the lamb salad. Unfortunately they were sold out of the rice balls. Pity we are not here longer. It’s a must if you are visiting Te Anau!!!
