Review Indian Kohinoor - Te Awamutu

Amazing service and amazing food! We walked in late looking for somewhere to have a nice meal, we were trying our luck if their kitchen was still open as everywhere else in town was closing. They stayed open for us and we found out later they stayed open an extra hour! And they didn't make us feel like we were imposing on their time. The food we ordered was all amazing and we highly recommend. We will be going there again in future for sure!

Went to this place because of the reviews here. And yes it is a great real indian restaurant. Simple, clean, friendly staff and delicious food. Very nice fresh prepared nan bred. We enjoyed it very much.

The staff are lovely and always accommodate my wishes for vegan options and adapt the menu where they are able. Food taste's great and there's always plenty, I'm set for lunch 😀 tomorrow 😋

Very good! Arrived on time all three times I ordered the past 2 weeks lol. Butter chicken is absolutely great! If I had children, I would sell them to eat this every night. Food arrives hot, there is a bit of a wait usually BUT it is definitely worth waiting for, they are obviously doing their best to make sure your food arrives perfectly! 10/5 !

So much detail in the flavours of the food. 6 stars! Calm atmosphere and friendly staff. It was not to bussy, maybe indeed a few phone or online orders before us, but all this was adding to a long wait. The food was delicious and clearly so many dishes where made from scratch as the kitchen sounds busy. Good food makes a wait sweet, but for the restaurant a sign some improvements can be made.

The best Indian restaurant by far. We live in the BOP and this restaurant beats any Indian restaurant over there. Always great service and delicious food.. Can totally recommend.!

We go to the Indian Kohinoor quite often because the curries are very tasty and they have a kids' menu with chicken nuggets and chips on it to keep the kids happy. The service is friendly but, as others have mentioned, the food is very slow to come out. The usual wait is 45-60 minutes for main courses. Also, sometimes the kids' meals will come out 20 minutes before the curries, which means the kids have finished eating and are getting fidgety while grown-ups are trying to eat.

A group of us, went for dinner. We had to wait a bit long for our orders, but the wait was worth it. To be fair, it was early on a Tuesday night, and only one guy serving, seating, and taking phone calls/orders. He was pleasent and helpful the whole time, and the food was delicious.

We've had many many fantastic meals from you over the years, coming here is always a special treat. For this reason I didn't want to leave a negative review but it seems like something has changed in the kitchen. The meals tonight were not up the to usual standard. Hopefully it will improve next time because we love coming to you!
