Review Sugoi Sushi - Te Awamutu

Mauricio Kimura
A good friend recommended this sushi place and we gladly came and tried out some marvelous food. Great atmosphere, clean and in order. Heaps of creative sushi pieces, chicken teriyaki and many drinking options. Located in the heart of Te Awamutu, a must to go if you want to experience great Japanese cuisine.

Solid 4* despite all the mixed reviews, the sushi is not as bad as people are reviewing it. Still decent. A bit pricey. The soy sauce spray bottle is interesting.

I live in hamilton and eat sushi a minimum of 3 days per week. This is with out a doubt the best sushi shop i have eaten at. 3:30 in the afternoon and still full selection available of hot and cold lovely food. Thanks

One of the best sushi shop in this town always fresh and yummy food and there are some new staffs though, serving great customer service and among them this guy Maha is the best because of the passionate about customer service , communicative , friendly and welcoming .

Wonderful Sushi Place. The Sushi comes in trays of 8 slices for $12 which equates to $1.50 for each slice of Sushi. A reasonable price considering most places sell sushi for a far higher cost. It is also important for me to note the quality of the sushi. It is well presented, and has a good weight to it. The filling to rice ratio is high, meaning there is less rice but more filling. A trait that I admire, as alot of restaurants typically use more rice than filling because rice is cheap and easy. The customer service here is also top-notch, with the staff always having a pleasant smile as they greet you at the till. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 well deserved stars from me Sugoi. You're a 10/10 business in my mind.

Good quality food, just a bit expensive, but no different to any other dine in sushi restaurants

been here twice. Customer service is always superb. They have air conditioning which other shops may not have. My wife and I had Teriyaki chicken rice and other sushi rolls, Inari and Miso soup. Rice texture is a bit solid if you compare with fancy sushi restaurant. but still taste great and has affordable price if you think about Auckland sushi price. We spent $40 for 2 people which you would not get enough food in Auckland anymore. Definitely go there again. All the staffs are friendly and I believe it also affect the taste of food.
