Review Central Seafoods Fish And Chips - Thames

The food here was so good I had to leave a review. Everything was super fresh and the orange batter is unreal. The only disappointment is that I won't be able to enjoy other fish and chips anymore. Would highly recommend the scallops, mussel fritters and a tub of either sauce available. Great guys operating it too. Smooth and clean operation by a team that knows what they're doing.

Haven't been here for a long time but it is still just as amazingly good as i remember if not better! Delicious light golden crispy batter on fresh fish. Battered muscles that are not just one but two together! Thick potato fritters that melt in your mouth. And just the right combo of soft and crunchy golden chips with crispy bits to fight over. Oh and the donuts 🍩 yommmmmy! And last of all the happy owners who always greet you with big smiles and a hello. My pics not pretty sitting up Monument Hill eating in the car but was just too good not to share! 🤪

Wanting warm food after a trip around the peninsula from hamilton I stopped here after 7pm and ordered the 6 mussels and chips and a sausage. The wait was not long and my delicious meal was ready. I sat outside and enjoyed everything. Got to be the best ever and will definitely be back.

The very best Snapper I've had. I generally peel back the batter and simply eat the fish, but the batter was as good as the snapper itself, way too delicious. Gonna make the hour trip again just to sit and eat the very best fish and chips looking out at the seashore.

Fresh snapper crumbed was Delicioso! Chips n kumara wedges was on point! Mussel fritter was nice but too rich for me, otherwise keep up the good work guys! 👌🏽 ps: remember don’t forget the lemon 🍋 😉 😉

We got here by chance, and did not regret it ! The owner is so nice, and the food so good ! We had difficulty understanding how the menu works, but we let him advise us. What a good resolution: -) It was nice to talk about Vietnam and other things. We may never come here again (to far from Canada :'( ), but we will definitly recommend this place to any other people who might visit Thames.

I ordered hoki fish and it tasted so good. There are quite a lot of food offerings to choose from. The food was cheap yet truly delicious.

A great place to have takeaway lunch on your way to Coromandel!! There are plenty of fresh fish options (snapper, gurnard and tarakihi) including fried oysters, scallops, prawns and squid rings all at affordable prices!! Do try the Kumara chips as it’s only 50cents difference. Highly recommended!!

Always good Fish meals from here, fresh fish cooked to perfection. Never greasy, great crunchy batter 👍😃

Great snapper burger and chips, however the place is extremely popular so be prepared to wait up to 1 hour (!) to get served (worth the wait though) or give them a call in advance.

Best fish and chips I've had for a while.

The absolute best fish and chips I have had in many years. Clean, well drained and very tasty. A good size portion of fish in a crisp batter that held together when you ate with your hand. Good amount of chips. Clean shop and awesome service. Happy to recommend to everyone. Next door to Farmers smack in the middle of the main street in Thames

I got a snapper combo and it was really fresh fish and cooked beautifully. Good amount of chips, and not greasy at all. I'll definitely be back again.

Best Fish & Chips place in Thames to date! The service is guaranteed quick & welcoming with friendly attitude & smiles every single time. The food is quality whether the fish is fresh or frozen fresh (frozen fresh fish is cheapest fish & IMO still really tasty) and the batter is that golden crispy you’re looking for in quality battered fish. The chips are cooked to golden perfection & perfectly salted, not heavily at all. The food is cooked with love & a passion for cooked seafood everyone loves. I have no complaints about this Fish & Chips shop WHATSOEVER. Me & my family always go here when we want quality fish & chips, Central Seafoods Thames are a MUST eat & try if you’re either visiting, passing from out of town or even a local townie who hasn’t given them a chance yet for whatever reason (unless you’re allergic to seafood then don’t try i guess lol but they have great sausages! in hotdog, battered or plain)

Best hot chips in town. Fritters are my fav but the fish is always cooked well. I always enjoy a Kai from here when in town. Not a local but have been to a few expensive others for lesser quality. Any better and I'll start referring to the cook as Uncle.

Best fish and chips I've had for years. Fresh, good sized portions and plenty of options for those not keen on fish. Our go to fish and chppery.

The service was very quick despite there being lots of customers. There are a large number of options and variety especially for families wishing to buy a selection for 2, 3, 4 People etc or you can order exactly what each person in the group wants.
