Review Bennys Again - Timaru

We were here as part of the Big Sing cadenza this weekend. Gave this place a go. The service and food was top notch. I had their blue code fish and chips. It was yum. My friend had their chef choice of the day, pan fried gurnard. It looked delicious. Look forward to visiting them again and trying different dishes.

Food is wonderful with large portions. Benny’s Chicken usually a favourite, although the Thai Green Curry is an equally delicious choice sometimes. It very much pays to make a booking, since they can get insanely busy when there are events on in town. Oh, and should I mention Elvis Presley?

Amazing service felt like we were apart of a close knit family, service was beyond amazing food was beautiful will definitely be back again

We really enjoyed our meal. My friend said it was the nicest meal she'd had in a long time. Friendly staff and food was excellent. Easy parking too

Seafood Chowder was delish. Main of Seafood Crepe was ok..Chicken Filo.nice enough, slaw was yum with the Italian dressing

As I was in a hurry I ordered something quick. Ordered the pasta. Wasn't overly impressed it was stoggy and extremely heavy on my system. Won't be ordering that again. Wasn't worth what I paid for it. Well over priced

Went here with a school group and it was great. Everyone got what they ordered, and enjoyed their meals. They accommodated all our dietary requirements. Really great service too.

This is the second year in a row that the Timaru BRONZ motorcycle club had its belated Midwinter Meal at Benny's Again and it was even better than last year.We had a set menu of $47 which consisted of three courses. I had the most delicious seafood chowder that had a great selection of prawns crab etc.Mains I had the Lamb Shank and dessert was warm chocolate mud cake with cream icecream and their own special chocolate sauce.Excellent atmosphere and service help make our celebration a resounding success.

Reservation under Caleb Professional, presentable young woman on the floor today. Both young ladies we were served by were extremely polite and well spoken. Our meal arrived quickly and the 300gm Rib eye was cooked to perfection. Nice to see the owner on the floor on a busy Saturday night. Highly recommend. Great food, great service. Well done guys!!

Since moving to the South Island March '22, we go to a different cafe/ restaurant every Sunday, and Benny's again is in the top 3 places we have eaten thus far. P.s Most places we eat are let down by the very young staff that have no people skills and simply don't want to be there. Hire some mature staff. It will do wonders for your clientele you attract.

Fabulous in every aspect, went to a seventy birthday and prawn cocktail and blue cod were so yummo

We're not from Timaru but this is our go-to place when passing through. Service is exceptional and the food is outstanding. Always a warm welcome and a lovely family friendly vibe.

The food here was not bad, I can't say it was but it all did feel a bit too much on the fried side. It would've been great to have a few more grilled options though I do note they have keto friendly options. My only complaint was the apple crumble that was so sweet it was inedible.

Just had a stunning meal at bennys again but I just want to say a massive thank you to one lady was fantastic with our little man all staff were friendly but this lady stood out even went and grabbed a spoon for our son because she saw the struggle we loved our meal great choices for children colouring and lots of pictures to choice from was even a small container of lego thank you we will be back :) P. S thank you for not over cooking the scollop

The service is top notch. had a booking and got seated right away even with a couple of functions going on. The menu is ok, pretty standard fair for the most part. Food came out in good time and the temp was just right (not good when the food is too hot). I had the chicken dijon and the wife had scallops. I expected the chicken to have a little more of a bite like from mustard but was quite mild. It tasted fine just not what I expected. The scallop dinner was very nice and came with 9 scallops instead of half a dozen. The house Sav. wine was a nice one.<br/>Could have done without the karaoke guy though. The music was a bit loud for a small place.<br/>Overall pretty good value for money and we'll go back again.

Loved it! Best meal I've had in AGES. Recommend the Benny's chicken or chicken filo. Perfect! Excellent staff and service, surprisingly quick for me. Will definitely be a casual there!!

Decent food, but not necessarily fantastic. Pretty basic menu - not very exciting or stimulating, and not many vegetarian options. Great service though. Good place if you are just looking for typical restaurant food.

Very friendly. Excellent service. Good food and coffee. Great meeting place if you live nearby! (Saves driving) Recommend it.
