Best Japanese we have had in NZ. The decor is great (check the bar footrest). Our server was a pro. We only had a couple of items but we could tell these guys know what they are doing. Don't play yourself, check this one out!

Great experience at Saikou ! Quick service and cosy vibe but high quality food. Everything was good from cocktails and starters to the main dishes (loved the meat and the tuna) Very nice adress in Timaru !

We had a great time dining at Saikou on a Friday night. The food was good and drinks are wonderful. Generally good vibes from the front of house and would totally come back again if I stop by at Timaru.

It’s great having good Japanese in Timaru. I’d recommend this place. Great service, great food. Heaps of seating and looks like it can cater for decent sized groups. Food was a little slow to come out, but I honestly don’t mind if it’s done well and it was! Thank you!

My favorite place to dine. Service is always top notch, extremely friendly and efficient. The food was amazing. Such an extensive menu with something for everyone. It is so hard to decide what to have. Also a great wine & spirit menu and can never go past the espresso martini. Recommend 100%. Pays to book.

Excellent friendly staff. Attentive and they are upfront about wait times. The first time I went, the food was very good but the sushi seemed a bit dry and the norm was tough. The second time, it was perfect. Great plating and nice vibes at this well-appointed place.
