Staff helpful. Good range of quality products. It is great for people wanting something special for gifts or everyday items. Good for locals and visitors wanting a quality department store. There's also a cafe available. Has a Christmas Grotto at Christmas.

Nice department store, staff were great & easy parking out the back. However, is a shame quite a lot of the spaces are reserved. Great place for birthday present shopping, very enjoyable browsing & always find something nice.

Bought a beautiful black merino dress here for a funeral. Very helpful staff who also took a photo of me in it to send to my daughter so she could help me decide.

Brilliant place that tries it's best to cover the bases of a small department store Best part, other than stock is THE STAFF. So pleasant and helpful.

A great place to find a special gift for that special person in your life. Ladies will love the large range of clothing and cosmetics but understand that this is pricey! A recommendation is to stop at the in-store JBs cafe for a coffee and sweet treat, you won't be disappointed.

Being from out of town Living in Queenstown, I love to go to Ballantynes whenever we can get there, to Timaru. where they sell skin care, cosmetics, Fashionable clothes, hand bags, women's wear, men's wear Its just a shame they don't sell shoes, I love a (one stop- shop department store) that offers everything, I understand you can't have everything that everyone wants, but over all I love coming to see the Fashion. And Thank-you Ballantynes for having a public toilet, and thank you that it is lovely and clean. Your Staff are Friendly Polite and very helpful. When I go shopping, I look for service... And friendliness, there's nothing worse than going into a shop that has a cold environment, and they don't speak to the customer....well you won't find that at Ballantynes I've even found my favourite shop assistant, I told her we must go out for a Coffee and chat, as I'm from out of town As I was showing her, nothing went with my dress from home, so I had to wear a long coat with it, I just didn't have the right jacket to wear with my dress from home before I came to Timaru that day, and The shop assistant in Fashion, said she understood completely How I felt. I'm sure if I was searching for a Jacket I would have found something there, Now that's the kind of shop I like to go to. With real people I can relate too. Thanks Ballantynes Timaru. Great coffee and store. Food was average and despite being cabinet food it took forever to be served. We got our food a long time after we finished our coffee.

Timaru store sells iced coffee. I don't like it but I love it! They sell the bestest iced coffee in Timaru! Even some really nice food! My support worker loves the coffee because it's actually hot! Lovely staff & clean environment! Thankyou ladies!
