Highly recommend!! Best coffee in all of Timaru. Visited Timaru recently for a week long conference. Was cheerily welcomed everyday and delicious coffee helped me wake up every morning. πŸ₯°β˜•οΈ

Great place to visit but I was surprised at the cost of a scone and a coffee. It was a bit cold. Staff very friendly.

Good variety is seating areas. In and outside. Mainly elderly people. Good good. Belgium biscuit was dry and too big. Friendly staff.

Friendly staff. Good food, many 5$ breakfast options: banana & bacon pancakes; bacon, eggs & potatoes; muesli, berry & yogourt... Best taste/value option in town. My favorite breakfast place in Timaru for sure.

13 Jan 2023 (yup, it's Friday the 13th) - I was looking for a place to eat breakfast 🍳 but don't want to go too far from Trust Aoraki Athletic Park 🏞. Found this place on Google Maps and decided to give it a go. I couldn't find this place on my first try but saw it when I drive around New World Supermarket. The main entrance is from the carpark area accessible from Chalmers Street. Well, the breakfast was good. I've ordered a mango smoothie, a large latte, eggs Benedict ($18.50) and Berries & Cream waffle ($14). The Latte β˜• is good; no burnt taste in my frothed milk and the eggs πŸ₯š were runny (check out my video showing the runny egg yolk). The bacon πŸ₯“was cooked to my liking, and the sauces were delish. My kiddo's mango smoothie was really good and will definitely get it when we come back again. As for the waffle, it is very sour because of the berries, and the cream couldn't cancel out the sourness (oh well, kiddo didn't enjoy it much πŸ˜…) Good portion sizes. This is a child-friendly cafe. This is a non licensed (🍻🍸🍷🍾🍹🍺) eatery. There is a very limited outdoor dining area. There is plenty of onsite parking πŸ…Ώ. They accept cash, EFTPOS with debit and credit card payments (Paywave is available, for those who want to know especially those using phones or smart watches to pay like me 😁). Food: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. It was delish and yummy πŸ˜‹. Ambience: ⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. Cosy. Nothing fancy like Starbucks. Price: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. Reasonably priced. Customer service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. Friendly and attentive staff. If unsure what to eat, ask the staff or the chef to recommend you. Would I go back? Δ€ definite YES 😊 Disclaimer: Please note that this review is entirely based on my experience at the time of the visit. You might have a different experience than me and also, the food may or may not suit your taste.

Love the chips!!! Never old oil and well salted, I visit twice a week and wouldn't order anything else! Can be a bit cold inside on winter days and I'm not sure how I feel about putting a blanket on me, turn up the heat!

well priced food, wont be back though, the cutlery, glasses and tables were all rather grubby. very off putting.

Has a lovely array of GF options, especially slices! Went in today for lunch. Most of their lunch menu is $15, and the smoked chicken salad I got was delicious, and the portion very generous (to the point where I may ask for a half size next time). The fruit infused water is a lovely touch too. The only downside is my friend, who ordered at the same time, had a ten minute wait after my meal arrived for their own.

We have eaten breakfast here many times. It is delicious and very good value. There is a nice atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff. The cabinet food is delicious too. I would recommend this cafe for breakfast or lunch. On Sundays they have been offering live music.

My favourite cafe in Timaru. I try to get in at least once a week to satisfy my craving for their delicious freshly made muffins. Strawberry are the best washed down with a great coffee. Staff in there are always happy and eager to please with great service. Its a great place for a catch up with friends.

I walked in and it was a great atmospher, the girls were friendly talking to the customers, making everyone feel welcome.
The food we has was amazing.pancakes with berries and yoghurt, they have a fantastic $5 breakfast menu.
I'll definitely be back.

Pity the serving girls couldn't stop talking between themselves and crack a smile for the customer - and take notice if the customer has an enquiry.

Food was average - our guest couldn't complete his chosen dish - he found it unappetising even though it looked nice. Jug of hot water was only half full when I asked for hot water to go with my coffee. No smiles, no encouragement for customers to return. It wasn't that the girls were serious types - they just didn't seem interested in their jobs and what it represented.

Nice environment. Maybe next time it'll be better.

This is a nice, bright, friendly cafe with some really cool touches - such as two large jugs of water with clean glasses on a central servery, one of them with fresh fruit chunks infusing through it. Another is fresh flowers.

The staff are eager to please - really friendly and natural.

The only thing that let Village Cafe down in my view was the food, and I hasten to point out that it may have just been my choice of beef burger, salad & fries. It was nicely presented - the bun, salad and the fries were fine - but I found the beef pattie hard and tasteless. Another gripe is that the pot of tea was delivered well before the meal and was stewed, bitter and cool by the time I finished eating.

I suspect this cafe is better than my single experience of it, but unfortunately my experience is all I have to go on.
