Review Marchwiel Takeaways - Timaru

We moved to Timaru a year ago. Each week we order our usual 1x battered and 1x crumbed gurnard, chips ,hot dog and potato fritter. Always perfectly cooked, generous portions, nice fresh fish. I came into the shop one night to pick up my order and overheard a staff member taking order number 60, 34 more orders after me! That tells you that this shop serves good takeaways, polite staff, hence that is why people return. Thank you.

The best burgers in town, as long as you get beetroot and onions with it! Now that's a burger um mmm

The best fish and chip shop in Timaru since I been here. Wish there was more snapper on the menus down in Southland. Love my snapper, still these guys dont overcook or undercook, just right every time. 5 stars

Highly recommend this to fish n chip lovers! My favourite fish n chip store in timaru!! Burgers are sooooo yummy and the hotdogs are also really good! I love the donuts as well and it is quite cheap as well!

Great food great prices

I was staying at the Top 10 and hungry, this place was close and has good reviews, so I grabbed dinner here. One scoop off chips was just the right amount for me, they were really nice chips too. I really liked the piece of blue cod, good size, nice batter and cooked just right. The hotdog was good too. I would definitely buy dinner here again if I was in the mood for fish and chips - I went from hungry to happy as I ate my meal.

I'm from Dunedin, and had come to Timaru to pickup a dog. Ended up being quite late by the time we picked the dog up so I googled 'takeaways near me' and selected the first 5-star business I seen. Turns out it was just around the corner from where we were, so we pulled up outside and the place was PACKED! This is obviously a good sign that the tucker is top notch! Can't remember what I ordered but it was good. Chips were lovely, perfect balance between crisp, crunchy and fluffy potato. I had my fill and then some! Will definitely be back next time we're in the 'hood!

By far the best chips in town. Generous scoops of chips with both small crunchy ones and big soft ones, always fantastic fish and hot dogs. Burgers are pretty good. Staff are friendly. Iv never had a complaint about the food here and been buying it for the last 10 years.

Yummy well cooked food. The wait time is a little long but that is because they are so popular. We have had food from here for many months and they are consistently very well cooked.
