Review Mustard Seed Cafe - Turangi

Mustard seed cafe was an interesting expirence. Very dingy and somewhat dark inside , however beautiful outdoor seating in which Rose's were taken great care of and gardening and outdoor dining was of a high standard. The counter food looked tasty, and coffee were nice and delicious! Very high ratings on the coffes. Overall mustard seed cafe in Turangi was a quick good place to stop, and on a nice day I will have to go back and sit outdoors with some food from the menu. The music indoors was also a creative playlist which is good to hear. Customer service was ok.

Small cosy cafe, too bad weather wasn't nice for outdoor seating in their little garden, it would've been cute. Fast service and good cabinet foods. Filled donut is definitely filled right throughout and didn't disappoint. Good ratio of jam to cream aswell unlike other donuts where you find the jam is just on the top for decoration, but the jam in this is spread throughout and in the donut. So yum! Great pit stop.

We enjoyed great tasting coffee and chai latte with toasted sandwiches made to order. Good selection of other deli foods as well. Their hot cakes were devoured by my ravenous daughter. Friendly staff, clean premises.

This place is great! The service was top notch, amazing food, great location, and lovely seating. My husband had the lamb shank and it was fantastic! I ordered the venison and it was spectacular!! Both dishes were perfectly sized and full of flavor! We will come again the next time we visit. And for all the idiots complain about no takeawaycoffee, get a life. It's clearly printed at the counter.

Now know as The Larder and is under new management and has been refitted. Has great selection of cabinet food and menu.

Lovely cafe overlooking small garden, centrally placed but away from noisy traffic. Very friendly host and a yummy brunch. So glad we came here and enjoyed the restored old wooden building with interesting pics on the wall and an open fire for winter.

Had a group of five traveling through around lunch, everyone was very impressed with the food, drinks, and service. Our order arrived quickly and we found the prices were reasonable. I'd personally recommend the salt and pepper squid, but it doesn't seem like you can go wrong.

Absolutely beautiful place. So may options, although in my typical way I still got chips! Staff are lovely. When I asked if my flat white was on it's way (had only been a little while, I was just wondering) he gave me a large instead of regular cos of the wait! I love Turangi and I love it here 😍

A good place to eat on your way south. I dig the eggs benedict, The rose garden is a refreshing oasis in which to eat.

We had brunch there. Great bacon, eggs (free range) and has browns. Serves with delicious grained bread. Excellent coffees and home baking. Took away some!πŸ‘πŸ’•

Slow service. Expensive. Small nacho serving. Burnt. All bread used was sandwich molenberg -French toast, toasted sandwiches and omelette. French toast Lathered in syrup. Coffees okay. $80 for four for lunch. Won't be coming back. Also cute rose garden outside all fenced off so no outside area any more.

Coffee average but had to wait a long time as they 'forgot'. Maybe we ordered a bit close to closing time and they couldn't be bothered any more? I arrived after the rest of our group had eaten and when coffee was finally brought out no attempt was made to clear dirty plates from the small table

We have had many stops here over the past couple of years and find it just lovely. The cakes and the breakfasts are A1. Everything is fresh in and made only on the premise.<br/>We like the idea its pet friendly and even has a fresh water tap and dog bowl in the garden area. Great for the dog to stretch its legs and have a fresh drink!!

We stopped here on our way through Turangi and was disappointed that we chose this place. The service was quite slow despite the cafe not being very busy. One meal - wedges - came out a long while before the other one. Wedges were ok, although quite expensive for how much you get. The toasted sandwich however was very slow to come out - we were just about to ask if it had been forgotten - and it was soggy and under-cooked. We asked for it to be cooked some more and it came out slightly more cooked but still soggy. Usually toasted sandwiches are a safe option, however we did not find this here.

A reasonable cafe, but have visited over a number of years and it has suffers from a number of problems. Firstly, it is closed on some days where all surrounding businesses are open and thriving. Last year, it was ok as far as coffee and foods goes but was extremely un-kid friendly. This year decided to just try them on takeaway coffee only to be informed they had decided not to do takeaway coffee today because they were busy (and mostly empty). Might go there again but only because I won't go to the only local competition (Thyme for Food). Recommend a drive out of town instead.

I had the pleasure of experiencing Mustard See Cafe recently and was very impressed with the delicious choices on the menu and fast efficient friendly service. I especially enjoyed a Lemon Friand which I would love the recipe for. Well done staff of Mustard Seed Cafe
