I had never tried this business. I was looking to find a catering service for our Kidney support Group (WN) & tried this place. And I have to say it was BRILLANT. Easy to arrange. The website great for choosing. Piece of cake!! FOOD was so fresh & YUM. Safe for kidney disease people to eat. Will definitely do this again anytime I need food help. Thank you Tricky's Team. Warm regards, Tracy & Group 🤗 Forgot to take photos. Sorry.

Best sandwiches I've ever had!! Always delicious, staff are super friendly and the slices and coffee are amazing. Definitely recommend their cold brew coffee, amazing with a bit of vanilla or spice. Has quickly become my weekly go to for a treat or two for lunch! Included a picture of my delicious selection for today - corned silverside and jalapeno grilled cheese yum

Really enjoyed the steak and cheese I had here and came back today for the coffee. This is one of the few places that does a regular size cup for ice coffees in Wellington, that feels worth the price. Iced mocha was lovely!

Quick and delicious! Tricky’s speedily makes the best sandwiches in town with minimal fuss and some of the best ingredients! Go here for the Cubano sandwich and you’ll be so pleased! All the grilled cheese choices make for a very happy lunch. The happy and helpful staff make the experience quick, and can turn around an excellent coffee in no time. Go here for a great little lunch and enjoy taking no time at all to devour your delicious meal!

Best coffee in town, so is the food ! Staff are also very friendly and efficient 😊

Nice and bright, open and airy cafe. Staff are welcoming. Popular for hot coffees a number of regulars coming in welcomed by name. Basic furniture in keeping with the minimalist look. Heaps of parking out front, accessible by wheelchairs. By the way I dropped in to try their entry into Wellington On A Plate "Tres Chic", smaller than I expected but big on flavour.

Friendly and helpful staff, clean and tidy, great coffee and awesome date ans orange scones.

Exactly what I felt like on a cold, miserable, Sunday morning. I have been wanting to try this place for ages and finally did today. I was impressed by the friendly staff and delicious, fresh food. I did find it a little on the expensive side, however, the food was such a pleasure and I can't wait to try the rest of the menu. I'll be back when ever I want to treat myself! Thank you for the great hospitality!

A great place to stop and have coffee with friends. The bright yellow interior will improve your day and as you are waiting for your food, see if you can name the people's silloette on the walls. From the simple cheese scones through to the special sandwich specials, all the food is wonderful. You can taste the Aroha that has gone into it. That same Aroha greets you at the door and you quickly find the rainbow flag sticker stating that everyone is welcome is not just words. There is a genuine sense of community, gathering here for good food, company, and all round happiness.

Best sandwiches I've ever had! A great selection to choose from but my favourite is the ham and coleslaw one! Fresh bread and ingredients. Super quick too!

Good coffee and fresh made to order bread rolls. The staff are helpful and friendly

Honestly fantastically amazing and lovely staff. Their food is great to hit any sandwich loving heart, The price can be a little steep when looking at it, but the service and taste of food make up for it. Great being their as a customer and a delivery driver one of my favorite spots to pick up from

Crazy delicious and the cold brew coffee is also very good. We got the Cubano sandwich which I devoured very eagerly. Very reasonable price, that person who said it was steep is a liar. Wellington would sell a sandwich like this for $25 and $7 extra for a drink and I know it, But I got my sandwich and a coffee for $15 all up. A definite must go in upper Hutt.

Trickys always has fresh, tasty sandwiches. However, I have ordered a Rainbow Salad twice in the past and have received it as a sandwich. I’d say that it’s due to both products having the same name - might be worth looking into and changing to avoid the staff getting confused. It’s not a big deal just thought I’d provide some feedback. Service is always a 10, you’d think there’d be a bit of a wait time due to the cafe being packed but the staff are always so quick and smiling despite the rush. It’s no doubt a 5 stars from me😊

The best sandwiches and service in town!! I go every weekend with my husband today he forgot my cold brew and Ashley delivered it to my house with a complimentary cookie, the best surprise ever when I’m hungry tired and pregnant! You guys are the absolute best!! See you next Saturday

What can I say? After past experiences with Upper Hutt cafés, I don't have the best appetite to eat locally. HOWEVER, this place has convinced me otherwise. From the atmosphere, warm customer service, to the absolutely divine flavours and immeasurable efforts that clearly go into your foods, I must say this is the best establishment I have seen, not just in Upper Hutt, but for the Hutt Valley region. This is worth the drive from Riverstone everyday, and I'll look forward to watching you guys progress further. Don't change anything your doing, because what you're doing is so so good. See you Monday!

Run by such lovely people and they make the most amazing hot chocolates and gluten free Toasted Sammie’s! Best place ever!

Fantastic! Had the pulled pork sandwich today- my first visit. Highly recommend. Couldn't have tasted better! Great trendy cafe fit out and the staff really friendly. Will definitely be back soon.

Went to Tricky's last week for lunch. Nice atmosphere, well air conditioned, but that's not what gets a place a 5 star rating. The pulled pork sandwich was so great, I was honestly a little aroused by it. Keep it up you sexy sandwich

Reuben or a Tricky GC - heaven on a rainy day and the coffee - smooth and velvety perfection this place. Hard to believe we have this in UH

The best flat whites in Upper Hutt, hands down. We love it so much that we even had a wee coffee/sammie/scone pre-work birthday celebration there last month!
Sarah Jane Young

i have just moved back to upper hutt after 30 years in auckland and to be honest not a lot has changed lol but Tricky"s is a great new addition..it has a great sunny position and the windows counters are good for people watching..i had the egg salad sammie which was lovely and a nice hot coffee..i will be back to try the salads on offer soon

Really overpriced for what you get. I bought a BLT sandwich and for $8.50 I was expecting more than what I got.. very shy on the filling and really nothing to rave about 😑 I was very disappointed!
Kevin Trip
Such an amazing place, very different from all the mainstream food joints in Upper Hutt. The staff are always friendly and the service is A+ class. Richard is a true sandwich artist and I highly rate presentation of the final product
The Mad Diner
Worst Cubano Sandwich I have ever had.  You are supposed to use real pulled pork meat, not pork sliced lunch meat.  You are also supposed to heat the pork before you put on the sandwich (the inside of my sandwich was cold) and dill pickles are mandatory (not sweet pickles).  Don't recall the ham and swiss as the rest of the sammie was so shocking.  Also forgot to mix mayo and yellow mustard together (a dash of cayenne) and then spread.  :(

Amazing place.  All of the food I have had from here has been fresh and tasty, I often will drive from Lower Hutt to pick up one of there toasties.  Pies are also really great.  Quick and friendly service, would highly recommend.  Great to have a quality café in Upper Hutt :)
Jojo
Fairly basic for the price, but I was expecting something really good based on Facebook reviews. Unfortunately there was eggshell in my sandwich which has tainted my review.
