Review Aro Bar - Upper Hutt

Visited on a Sunday for lunch as a big family group - 5 adults, 4 kids, and had a great time! The service was exceptional; friendly and attentive staff, got drinks order done and received quickly and checked in often. Food came out pretty fast, was hot, fresh and delicious. Nothing too flash, but exactly what it promises. We got a selection at the table of pizzas (chicken, and pepperoni), chicken burger, pulled pork burger, kids nuggets and kids burger. Everyone was very happy with their food. Nice to see they have a specific kids menu, as some of the other bars don't. They also have highchairs available and a changing table in the bathroom. Kids were made to feel very welcome. Was also nice and toasty and warm on a cold day! Will definitely be back!

The food was ok, but the service was exceptional. One request was accommodated with a smile and a little bit of extra service was provided. The staff were great. The beer and the gin were delicious and refreshing

ok, first off... it's Te Aro Brewing. in Brewtown. of course the beers are going to be good. a surprisingly solid cocktails menu too, though. food menu was quite nice, many items i'd be excited to try - a rare thing in my experience. opted for the Caesar salad, was quite nice, thought the egg was a bit odd but it worked, almost perfectly cooked, too. however there was a considerable lack of dressing, so i was eating mainly dry salad, bummer. pork belly bites have an AMAZING sauce on them, but were a little overcooked and chewy. mother-in-law liked her tomato & basil pasta but said it was a bit dry, and father-in-law said his terakihi was overdone. i'm chalking it up to it being busy with several large groups (including ours), so i'll definitely give it another try because there's quite a bit of promise, and the flavors are really rather good.

Been here a couple of times for work functions and enjoyed both times. Beer is great, food is awesome, and that roaring fire is a delight in winter. Also open on on Mondays!

A much smaller bar than some of the others at Brewtown, but far better service than Wild Kiwi with food equally as good. The staff here are actually competent, friendly, well presented and don't argue amongst themselves in front of customers. Would recommend this place for a get to together or a few casual drinks.

Nice place to relax after a hectic week, not too loud or quiet. Don't forget to try pork belly bites and mango cider. Highly recommended...

I recently celebrated a milestone birthday at this venue and it was perfect. Hamish was brilliant. He did a fantastic job all evening, and so did the rest of the girls who worked that night. Everyone was really impressed with the service as well as the food. Thank you for making my birthday a great night. I really appreciate it! This is a great spot to hire.

We dined at Aro Bar yesterday after a poor experience at one of the other breweries at Brewtown. I was hesitant at first to come to Aro Bar as in the past I had been a bit underwhelmed with the place but things seem to have improved significantly. The food has definitely got better and the atmosphere feels more comfortable now. Our group of 10 including kids, teens and adults all enjoyed the range of food we had and the service was friendly and quick. Will remember for our next Brewtown visit

Excellent service, food came out very quickly and was excellent quality. Dub x burger could have been improved by adding onion and pickles; Kids Fish and Chips were great value and tasty. Will be back!

Really nice on the colder days with there wood burner, great music and good for large groups, all the food was served at the same time with 8 of us

We came here as my friend had seen the mushroom fettuccine on the menu. I decided to have the same and we both added bacon and chicken. Wow probably the best I’ve had. They were not shy with any of the ingredients and the portion size meant we both had some the next day. Our waitress was friendly and very helpful, when I couldn’t decide on the beer I wanted, she went away and came back with a shot glass of each to try. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be back. Well done Aro bar

Was an awesome place to eat! Extremely yummy very reasonably priced food. Our only downside was watching a waiter eye rolling a few times after she left a table with a order. Definitely will be going again and have recommended!

We come here on the regular, the amazing Ella always makes us feel like family and the other staff are always above board and it's such a privilege to spend time with them all. Highly recommend this amazing establishment for a feed and drink.
