Review Totara Thai House - Upper Hutt

They used to have the best Thai food in the Hutt Valley without doubt, but they changed their menu recently and removed many of their best and more interesting dishes. Now they are average with average prices too. They still have very friendly, professional staff.

Great to see the re-opening of an awesome local Thai restaurant. Delicious meal - great service and wonderful staff. BYO beer & wine only - no on-licence. The bubble teas are amazingly refreshing. Dine in was clean, warm and quiet. The meals were served promptly and traditional thai style. Lots of meat and vegetables per meal, hot (temp) and deliciously flavoured. Highly recommended

A huge improvement on previous owners, great authentic Thai taste, huge portions enough to take leftovers home, and the price was fantastic, so affordable to be able to go again and again often, which we will. Oh and great friendly service, I must not forget to add.

We ordered on Monday night and the food was outstanding! The Mussaman curry was so delicious and the beef was cooked really well that it melted my mouth. I was pleasantly surprised as this was our first time trying this Thai place out. We'll definitely be coming back!! Thanks again

Just had a fantastic meal at Totara Thai House restaurant tonight. The starters were very tasty but the Beef Massaman Curry was the star dish; melt in the mouth beef in a delicious sauce. Nice decor and great service too. Definitely heading back regularly to work through the menu!

Friendly staff and yummy food ...ordered platter for two for entree yum good little selection of entree's , Roti , hubby ordered Mee Goreng (yum ) and I ordered garlic chicken stir fry with rice ( 👌🏼yum) our girl ordered off kids menu and had a roti too and we shared a bubble tea ... food was fresh and very tasty definitely be going back 😊

Good service. Some dishes can be a little bland but you don't pay for gourmet. Otherwise still yummy and was my go to when living in Totara
