We had a fresh and delicious Snapper today and the "Sweet As" burger - definitely was! We ate on the picnic bench overlooking the beautiful beach. Thank you Bronwyn.

We visited the General Store on multiple occasions during our monthlong stay in Whiritoa, and it's a gem! It's a small shop with a big variety of products. They serve delicious breakfast and great value for money hamburgers. The owner is super friendly and helpful. Their muffins are a must-try, and their caramel bars are out of this world! Don't miss it if you're in the area or passing through!
A little bit less sass and a little bit more service and you might have noticed that you gave me tomato on my toasted sandwich instead of pineapple, and you might not have forgotten about the fries that the other customers were waiting for. We also don't really need your "spoonful of judgement" written on our coffees when the only reason we're getting sugar is because we never really know what the coffee is going to be like so we get sugar to be safe.
The toasted sandwich and fries were very good quality and yummy despite this. Just a little feedback that not every customer really wants to have an assault of jokes and sassy comments about spitting in our food or licking the bread.
I'm sure some people do enjoy this type of chat though so if you do, then I would still recommend going here as the food was great, quantity of food was great, the coffee was good and lots of selection for kitchen food, plus all your standard items you would expect to be able to buy from a dairy.
Great fish & Chips and good banter with the owner. Its a small store/cafe so don't expect to do your weekly shop but covers basic essentials and I could eat of the menu every day for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Just got a chur burger and my wife got the sweet as burger, they were amazing! Got some wedges too and they were so good!

Great food and coffee at a reasonable price for this day and she. Owner super friendly and the jokes just keep coming. Will certainly visit again when over that way. Highly recommend the cheese scones - toasted!

Best fish & chips on our holiday, but the real treat was the owner. Such a gem! We stayed warm and cozy from the rain on the covered patio, but the reserve and the beach nearby were both stunning. Can’t believe we’ve never stopped before. Coffee was also perfect.
